Worst service department ever!!!! They have had my truck since 2/21 and still have not given me an answer on what's wrong with my truck! No one and I mean no one is on the same page. Mechanic says one thing, person at the front desk says something else and whoever answers the phone has no clue of what's going on. They haven't called me we have had to call them or go over there. Recently had new tires and alignment done there on my ram 1500. Two of the tires ended up road force testing bad from the factory. The crew at rainbow dodge took excellent care of me. They had two new tires there the next morning and made sure my truck didn't leave until I was completely satisfied and everything was perfect. Worst service every!!!! No communication no people skills when you do talk to someone. Left Jeep off for 4 days for check engine light problem. Which was covered under warranty. Never heard from anyone in how the situation was going. Went to pick up when I got back into town Jeep wasn't ready they wanted to keep it two more days. We went in on Saturday to lease a mid range Cherokee. The salesman Chris was helping us and we had done our research on what it would cost. We came in with competitive prices. All we wanted was the price from 3 other dealers. We weren't trying to low ball them or anything. They were the closest to our home and would like to have shopped locally. We used True Car as a guide. All this went to crap after they were unwilling to go a penny off the MSRP. There were plenty rebates and incentives to get the price down but when it came time for them to adjust the MSRP all the nice talk and willingness to make the deal happen went away. The sales guy (Chris) came out of the booth condescending and hostile. We walked away from the deal over $20.00 a month on the lease. I suggest going to a more high volume dealer as these guys need every penny from their sale to keep the doors open. As there were no other customers buying anything this may well be the case. I have been dealing with car dealerships for over 30 years. This is by far the worst experience i have ever had....I went and test drove vehicle and offered the asking price in CASH. They came back and said there was a mistake with the online pricing. It was supposed to be 13,300 instead of the 11,995 that it was advertised. However, the salesman said he would sell it at that price since it was advertised. I went and got cash out of truck and set back down in his office. Then the shit started..."finance guy" (another salesman no doubt) came in and said they cant sell it at that price because they had just put a wiper motor on it (keep in mind i havent heard a word about the wiper motor)..Anyway, i told him the salesman had already agreed (after talking to this "finance man first") that he would sale the jeep at that price (which by the way was spot on for the NADA price based on condition. Then he went to trying to play his number games...ok, ill sell it to you for the 11,995 plus the 150 for the wiper motor...I agreed...and then he try to add about 4 different destination charges, etc... which brought the price back up to 13,000. This is a typical car salesman crap x 100....they are very dishonest and disrespectful...not sure how they stay in business, but they are very bad people.....So, to sum up my experience, basically i went in and offered ASKING PRICE for the vehicle they had advertised online. I counted out asking price in $100 dollar bills and set it on the table. Beware of service department! Ripoff city! Assistant service manager misled and lied repeatedly. Do not believe a word they say! I took 2009 Jeep Patriot with 42,000 miles for possible transmission and abs problems. Paid $1583 for abs module/master cylinder and transmission fluid/filter/gasket (they said this would give me up to 40,000 miles on transmission). Jeep noise was horrible and engine light came on driving it home. Assistant service manager said they would pay for towing back to dealer. Then informed me we needed new transmission for $4000. We decided not to sink any more money into the Jeep and decided to trade it in on another vehicle at another dealer. When we informed them, they said we had to pay towing bill of $150. On April 30, 2019 I went to Rainbow Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep , Ram service because I have had terrible experiences with the Ram service departments in Baton Rouge where I live. There were two recalls on my Ram 3500 that needed to be completed a water pump replacement, a steering component problem, and I wanted my transmission and transfer case serviced. After about 3 days and multiple calls I finally got in touch with their Service Department, they don't answer the phone or return calls.They promised me a one day turn around. I dropped it off the day before they scheduled the service. I checked with them the next afternoon before I drove to Covington and was told it would be ready that afternoon. When I got to Covington I was informed it would not be ready after all. I went back Baton Rouge. The next day I called and asked the status. I was informed it would be ready that afternoon. I arrived at 4 pm. I was informed then that they had discovered a $400.00 radiator hose leak. No connection to the water pump replacement recall of course. I was also informed that it was not ready. It was finally completed at approximately 5:30 PM. For the last three weeks I have been smelling antifreeze and the front end, which I had just had aligned two weeks prior to bringing the car to them, is now pulling to the right. I was informed that the best they can do is look at the coolant leak the week after Memorial Day but that the misalignment is not their fault. Totally discouraged with Ram Service in general and Rainbow Dodge in particular. read more

worst of the worst!! never bring your car to these people. I had a simple recall on a airbag. I needed a ride back and forth to work. I called and made an appointment a week ahead of time. I arrived at 730am according to my appointment time. It gets to be 430pm in the evening. I cannot get through to the service department on the status of my car. Finally, I reach them and the guy says it is not ready! A week ago I made the appointment. I felt like I got bumped. I paid $21.00 dollars for a cab and still don't have my car . I hope you sit there for a couple of days and look at the keys cuz when I finally get them you will never see me again!!!! read more

So sorry to report how disappointing it is to deal with these very unresponsive people. I was overcharged $100 last year for services on my Ram truck (I had over $1000 for bringing the truck fluids up to standard, as well as some recall work). I was charged twice for removing the serpentine belt. Instead of refunding the $100, the service manager asked if I would agree to a future oil change. I agreed. I made arrangements 4 days ago to have recalls and oil done today. Upon arriving, they had no idea who I was and once again I had to wait for the service manager to research my situation (he never came out of his office). I was told the services today would be about an hour and a half. I called 3 hours later and was then told my truck was done. They couldn't pick up the phone? They just don't seem to understand what good customer service means. I'll certainly go elsewhere in the future. read more

Horrible experience. Would give zero if possible. Waited over a year for a recalled part truck almost left me on side of ride 100's of miles from home. Nobody on staff has been there more than 3-6 months. Wonder why? Nobody has any idea what's going on. 5.5 hours on phone with them and Chrysler repair/parts under warranty and now since delay they want me to pay for repairs. Very poor dealership customer experience. Stopped by to look at a Grand Cherokee with my wife and could not get a salesman to help because they were all outside smoking. Most of the time they won't leave you alone. Tried to schedule service for 2 recalls on my Dodge Ram and all I could get out of the service manager was that was tied up at least two weeks. Be careful with this dealership because the truth is not part of their business plan. I recently was a victim of what I believe was a bait and switch tactic where they advertised a vehicle on the internet for one price and declared the price to be a advertising error once I showed up at the dealership. This was in spite of the fact that they called me to verify the availability and price before I drove to the dealership. This is the second time someone from my family was subjected to this tactic in the last 2 months at this dealership. A quick check of all the reviews will expose them for what they are--dishonest--the bait and switch game is supposed to be unethical and illegal in Louisiana but these guys thumb their noses at ethics and law. The federal trade commission and the Louisiana Attorney Generals' Office need to investigate this dealership and we the people being spoofed by this dealership need to start reporting them. This kind of behavior begins at the top so management, including the ownership, apparently condones these games and should be held accountable. If they declare that the advertising misprints in price are continuous mistakes then why is the internet manager still employed there? BUYER BEWARE --I took my business to Hammond even though this dealership is 4 miles from my house. I hope others who have endured their games report them. read more

My experience started off good and ended up bad. To cut it short I purchased a used vehicle, so I know to expect some small issues. My first issue was that once the sale was complete, walking out the door I was handed the key fob which contained no key blade. Then when I asked for the other key fob I was then informed that they did not have one. So at that point what do I do? So obviously not ok but decided to just leave feeling like the salesman just got over on me. I had to purchase a key fob for $40 then have the key cut and programmed the fob for another $160. Then it got worse!!! After about 30 minutes of driving the airbag light comes on. After doing some research the car had a recall regarding the clock spring mechanism. This normally wouldn't be a big deal but since the car was out of warranty it was, especially since it was very obvious the dealer had to have cleared the codes and hoped they wouldn't come back up. If you are not aware, once the airbag code comes on, the car sensed an issue in the airbag system and will not deploy any airbags. This car was purchased for my 18 year old daughter to drive while in college. I think this is highly irresponsible of the dealership and their staff. How likely is it that the airbag light just came on thirty minutes into my drive with a known faulty part? NOT LIKELY AT ALL! Rainbow Dodge dealership is shady. I can absolutely say I will never buy another vehicle from there again. read more

This is the most unethical dealership I have ever dealt with. Their employee Keri apparently didn't have a clue how to properly transfer the title on my trade because it was titled in a Trust. They never once contacted me by phone or mail. They held my licenses plate hostage and refused to give it to me even though my temporary tag had expired. When I went to the dealership, the manager told me Keri said she spoke to me and I had refused to provide any futher documentation or information, which was a lie. When I tried to discuss with the manager, he was unreasonable, unprofessional and unethical. He wouldn't discuss in a mature manner. All he would do is laugh and comment that they "got me" because they had my licenses plate and I didn't. I would highly recommend you NEVER use this dealership!!! read more

I was very disappointed in the way Rainbow handled the situation when we brought my Jeep in for repairs. It is a long story but here is a brief description: I was charged for the diagnostic of the check engine light after I told the service agent I didn't need one because Advance Auto Parts identified the problem as the gas cap. Rainbow charged me $75 for the diagnostic even though I told him I already knew the problem. The main issue was the axle yet the Rainbow crew told me I needed a complete brake job. It took two days to get the estimate. The total estimate was extremely high (approximately $3,900).I decided to take the Jeep elsewhere for repairs. Yet, it took the service crew over two hours to release the Jeep. I felt like my vehicle was being held hostage. The service department made numerous attempts to get me to agree to the job. During negotiations, I was asked what my budget was for the repairs; That they could eliminate the brake job and save us money. Really? Sounds like the brakes didn't need repairs in the first place. I brought the Jeep to another mechanic and the vehicle is being repaired for $1,500 les than Rainbow's quote. The entire process with Rainbow felt like a stall tactic to make me desperate. Two days for diagnostics when the other mechanic gave me a quote in two hours. Bottom line, Rainbow is very unprofessional, seems to be driven to get the highest amount for repairs possible, and has NO interest in fair, competitive prices for repairs performed in a timely manner. read more

Once we went to the dealer and set down and talked they quoted me nearly 30% more than we had agreed to over the phone. BEWARE of their "auction/cash sale" cars!!!! My 17 year old son had been saving his money to purchase a used BMW and we were thrilled to find one online at a big name dealership. After seeing it online we went to the dealership and was told it would be going to auction because it had 150,000 miles on it and it would be sold "as is". We were okay with that because we were told that every car sold there has had a 122 inspection service performed on it. Our salesman told us the inspection was performed on the car, and we assumed if they had found something wrong they would have reported it to us at that time. (We were aware of a small oil leak.) Our son purchased the car, drove the car 3 times, and the transmission went out!! We contacted the manager and asked for a copy of the 122 inspection report. When we picked up the report he said they didn't complete the inspection because they spotted an oil leak and the inspection was stopped at that point. After reading what they did inspect I didn't have much confidence in the report, because the horn was checked off as operating and the horn never did work! Also, when negotiating a price be sure to say "drive away price" with your offer. Don't make the mistake we made!! We didn't say that and my son made an offer of $5000.00 and it was accepted, but when the paperwork was drawn up they had unexpected fees tacked on and we were told the fees were not negotiable. It brought the total up to $6,379! Our family learned a hard expensive lesson and we have no one to blame but ourselves! I recently bought a vehicle from them (2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport). I traveled from very far to get there only to realize I had been lied to over the phone about total price and monthly notes. Furthermore, after working out the price figures (it was very late at night), I found a rear tail light was out and front turn signal was out. They said there was nothing they could do since the service shop was closed. Now for the worst part. a few days after driving it home, the engine light came on. they told me to bring it back to their dealership and wouldn't allow me to bring somewhere else. While driving the jeep, it lost all power and died. I was able to start it again and brought it to Southland Dodge who fixed the issue. I spoke to a Mr. Mike at this dealership who told me to email him the reciept which I did aprroximately OVER 2 Weeks ago. I haven't heard anything back from them and they will NOT Return my phone calls! Not to mention the fact that this company replaced the soft top on the jeep and I found out the hard way that they do a horrible job at that since it is now leaking. (I never even messed with it since I knew a new top needed to stay up for a while to stretch out). Furthermore, I recently noticed that a single lugnut is missing off over every single rim! I couldn't believe this company let me drive off their lot this way when I had my wife and 2 small children with me!!!!! This is by far the most horrible experience I've ever had buying a vehicle. We bought a used car here with a clean car fax. When we began having problems with the front end we found out it had previously been wrecked. I met with the owner, Lee Eikle, to discuss my concerns. We paid blue book value for an unwrecked car only to find out it was damaged AND having many issues. Mr. Eikle proceeded to tell me that they service all cars before they are sold and don't go by the car fax. I responded with, if it was serviced then you had to have known it was wrecked before you sold it because certain parts on it have younger dates than the car itself. Mr. Eikle obviously knew he was wrong because he got angry, told me to get out of his office and threatened to call the police! This man has NO people skills and I am shocked he is still in business! I will never go see these people again...i live an hour away from their location.I have had my jeep a little over 2 years...it is still under warrenty...I take it to the dealership cause the abs light comes on along with the power train light...the car randomly looses power while driving down the interstate, it's beginning to have problems starting. They pull up the issues, see that it's having problems. Instead of putting their loyal customer and her kids in a rental and fixing the problem.They turn me away and tell me to come back on pay day, pay my 50 dollar deductible and they will fix my car. I should be ok driving it until the problem is fixed. They obviously only car about money rather than the safety of their customs. I don't know about the viewers who read their reviews but I feel as though this is a problem! i purchased a 2012 dodge ram 1500 truckfrom rainbow. it has been my worst buying experience i have ever had. i was promised a factory cruise from chrysler and rainbow. chrysler, after the sale left rainbow with what they promised and rainbow to honor the "we owe" slip, rainbow got another steering wheel and installed it on my truck, well the cruise worked but at different times the horn would go off, would not go off or blow the fuses for the horn. i took video with my phone but rainbows crappy service department could not find anything wrong. understand that after 12 times taking the truck back because of a dealer caused problem chrysler was not paying for for the repairs any longer so lee eikle the so called owner said "he has spent enough money on my truck and not to bring it back not even for a oil change". he said this after i suggested he put the original steering wheel back on. you see he did not want to find the problem now because if it was the steering wheel, where the cruise is located, and it did not have the cruise on it then he would have to buy the truck back.i also have a letter from the bbb or new orleans stating they were closing out my complaint and the the dealer has not tried in good faith to resolve the issue. by the way the sales person was marion gordon, dont trust him either, i did, i thought i knew him as a friend but not any more. i also tried to call lloyd guillot jr. whos father senior started the rainbow dealerships, he never did return my calls so he doesnt care either. so you have been warned and i have paperwork to prove the information i am telling you. stay away from rainbow chrysler dodge jeep, and rainbow dealerships, you will do better and probably get a better deal, customer service and service in slidell, hammond or on the south shore. i know of serveral people that i have talked to with what happend to me that have went elsewhere and are glad they did. contact me if you have had problems or need any other information, perhaps a class action would be in order. read more

I am a veteran and there is a group called Vets-cars that assist vets in getting and buying cars or trucks. well to say the least rainbow cjd or any of the rainbow dealerships do not qualify to be part of this group. Vets-cars, after being screwed by rainbow and getting truck that rainbow mess up, found a ford truck at al-star ford in Prairieville la. I went there which is about 50 miles from Covington la. and traded the junk dodge truck for a ford truck. by the way none of the auto dealerships qualify to join by vets-car standards in the Mandeville, la / covingtion la area. I save about 3k over the same truck I saw and looked at banner ford in Mandeville, la. bottom line don't trust any rainbow dealership, and if you want to save money, big money do not buy and vehicles from the Mandeville/Covington area. I realize not all are vets, and vets google vets-cars and check with them there is no charge to you, but point is if they do not qualify for this program what other groups might they not qualify for. read more
