Now I originally was aghast that a botanical garden tour was this expensive, but after doing it, I think it's actually well worth the price. This isn't one of those gardens you can just walk in and wander around - it's guided tours only with staff. Pros: - Probably the most entertaining and varied botanical garden tour I've ever done, complete with a chocolate tasting sit-down learning experience with the guides. - It's BEAUTIFUL - and doubles as a leisurely hike if you're very able-bodied. It felt like a very HAWAII experience given the lush greenery, the number of new plants I had never seen before, and fun facts about Kauai and this specific botanical garden. - There's different "stops" on the tour where you'll get to try more uncommon fruits and bites (we had longan, rambutan, apple banana, sugarcane plant, and this really delicious honey!!) and you get to try a cacao fruit (which tastes nothing like chocolate lol) - they provide organic herbal bug spray if you don't bring your own - Pretty easy to find, the staff were super communicative beforehand via email and text with directions - Our tour guide Lauren was super knowledgeable and answered all our questions kindly, even when she was visibly quite pregnant! I was impressed at her stamina - I personally liked that it was a pretty "active" tour, where you hike across a bridge, uphill a bit, etc. You should definitely wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes, because the dirt can get pretty wet if it rains. I wore hiking pants and hiking shoes and felt pretty comfortable, and I felt sorry for people who came in sandals - The chocolate tasting was really unique - we got to try their in-house chocolate that had notes of cinnamon - and they said that it was a cinnamon tree in their grove where water would pass that gave it this flavor! - They also provide walking sticks and umbrellas for people if you want them - Reservation only, online booking in advance - I think this preserves the magical vibe of this nature-y place and keeps the quality of the service high - The staff clearly love and care about what they do, which is very refreshing to see! Cons: - It can be pretty strenuous if you are elderly or have orthopedic issues.

Well, the "shop" is actually a small trailer beside their lanai, which they were busy setting up for lunch for their farm workers. How cool was that? I don't think anyone is supposed to be there when there is no Tea Tasting Event, but they were gracious enough to accomodate us and even allowed us to buy tea drinks. Like they made it for us and served it! I might have ruined it for everyone else now though and they will make sure that they are closed outside of the event times. Sorry! The LOVE POTION TEA was weirdly soothing. Felt like I was wrapped in a blanket indoors looking out of a window on a rainy day. The TROPICAL HIBISCUS felt like I was in a tropical island. Oh wait... Anyway, I love how I couldn't really pinpoint the flavors, but the feelings the tea evoked is clear. Tasted, and bought, some honeys too. Interesting take on the honeys. They had spices and nuts so they were more like marmalades that honeys that you could add to your teas. The garden is beautiful. There is limited parking, but it's surrounded by beautiful greeneries, fruits and flowering plants. It was a beautiful outing for sure.

Note - You must sign the google doc before entering since it's private property. Do it before you arrive online since signal is spotty!

We just spent 11 nights in the garden cottage and it's hard to leave. The farm is in an area of the island that makes it easy to get to the beaches, Hanalei, the fish market, a cute & good coffee shop. The cottage itself is great for a couple - comfortable bed, kitchenette, and an outdoor shower that is absolutely amazing. Lee, the owner of the property is very kind, gracious, thoughtful and accommodating. We very much look forward to our next visit to Kauai and a third visit to this special place.

The property was amazing with 8 bedrooms (4 upstairs and 4 downstairs), a huge kitchen, a family room, sitting room and media room there was plenty of room for everyone. It was beautifully kept and was stocked with towels, toys, and sports equipment. The house manager was readily available to answer any questions. The walk down to Secret Beach has 360 steep stairs so it was a workout getting back up but the beach is breaking and very quiet although you may see a little bit of nude bathing. The house offers the most amazing views of the ocean, sand and lighthouse. I would highly recommend!

Most impressive was the children's jungle gym area, with many large wooden structures for play & exploring. Very cool. The kids really enjoyed this jungle gym. I like the Community Center design & structure; it has large wooden perimeter fence & wooden gate doors, like a jungle fortress- it looks like the Jurassic Park Gate (*Jurassic Park was filmed in part on Kauai). Located on Northern Kauai, this lighthouse and reserve are an amazing and must see location. It is…read morelocated in Kilauea, off the main road through some residential areas. The road dead ends near an overlook with tight parking, but you can see out and down to the ocean and the walls are covered with birds of all types. A gate stops you from entering the grounds of the reserve and lighthouse. If you go to recreation.gov you can make reservations to visit, there is usually a fee, but we came on a free day. Past the gate, you drive down a steep drive to a parking area with government buildings. You then walk out to the ranger station, gift shop and lighthouse area. This is a historical location which should be explored. It is also a reserve for animals and you will mostly see the birds and learn about them. You can get your national park stamp and visit the gift shop. Lots to see, and I would add this as a must see on Kauai! You will have to plan ahead to get your reservation.

Located on the northernmost tip of Kauai, Kilauea Lighthouse was built in 1913 and served as a…read morebeacon for traveling ships approaching the island. Nowadays, although outdated and no longer in service, this lighthouse still serves as a popular beacon for tourists visiting one of the most frequently visited attractions on the island. Situated within the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, you'll have to pay admissions in order to enter. We serendipitously showed up on one of the admission-free day without even realizing it, so was only subject to the $1 reservation fee. There are several parking lots after you pay, all of which fill up fast. However, the ranger will direct you where to find available spots. The walk to the lighthouse will treat you to some breathtaking views of the cliffs and water below. And if you're lucky, some nice variety of marine life in addition to the plethora of birds flying around. We happened to see a swimming sea turtle at one point at the cliffs below thanks to the crystal-clear Hawaii waters. And although you can walk right up to the lighthouse to take pictures, entrance into the lighthouse itself is barred as they have suspended tours inside.
