This was a surprise anniversary getaway, planned by my boyfriend. We really haven't been able to spend much time together because of our schedules and he wanted to make sure that I had a peaceful, low key adventure. Boy, did he do his research well! This place is amazing. To think, I almost didn't make it due to a family issue. We were greeted by Donna and Scott right away. They were very understanding and even asked how my mom was doing. Talk about great service, Donna and Scott provided more than service. They were genuinely sincere and caring. You have a private house all to yourselves. You are the only guests and once Donna and Scott go inside their home you never see them and pretty much leave you alone, which means the deck and the pool are all yours. The guest house is quaint and cozy with a single bedroom, 1/2 kitchen/ 1/2 bathroom, and a cozy living room filled with shelves of books, movies, games, a TV, and air conditioner. The bathroom cabinet has amenities in case you forgot any at home. Underneath the sink there are more goodies for your use which include an iron, blow dryer, ironing board, hair spray, etc. The views are spectacular and at night the sky is so bright with stars. I fell in love with this place instantly...My only regret was that we only stayed one night. There are so many things to do in the area; Hiking and biking. The continental breakfast was great and satisfying. This bed & breakfast is very peaceful and very serene. The only thing that scared me was the road not so much during the day but at night. My boyfriend took me wine tasting, a carriage ride at South Coast Winery, and then to dinner so we got back after dark and it was a bit intimidating. Other than that we definitely relaxed that day. The cute thing, is they have this journal that guest can add they're comment to. It was interesting to see why other guest chose to come here and some of them are repeat guest. WE, will definitely be back to explore and add to our adventures. Hopefully soon. Oh yea, one minor thing that I didn't mind but made me feel uncomfortable is that the bathroom didn't have a door and since it's attached to the kitchen pretty much my boyfriend could of walked in on me. Unlike other B&B's where you share a house with other people. This is private!! You and your honey get a private guesthouse ALL TO YOURSELVES!!! It is not attached to the main house, you have a private entrance and it is quiet!! The guest house includes a bedroom with a queen and a twin bed (in case you want to bring a little one), bathroom, living room and a kitchenette with a mini fridge, toaster, microwave and coffee maker(creamer/sweetener in fridge). Bring goodies/wine (wine glasses are provided in room) if you want late night snacks etc...The cute continental breakfast is delivered in baskets when you want and is more than satisfying. Bagels, cream cheese, fresh fruit, sweet bread of some sort, juice, yogurt etc...includes plates, silverware etc...You also have a HUGE private deck and pool. It was too cold to swim but in the summer I would have used the pool. FYI...for those who want privacy when you "go to the bathroom", please note that the sliding door to the toilet does not close all the way so you will have to close the main door which means that while you are in there no one can use the shower, sink or kitchenette. There are books galore, movies to watch, games to play, music CD's with a CD player and Direct TV. We explored the outdoors all day and just relaxed at night. Old Town Temecula was fun to explore, shop and eat and just driving around the hills looking at the beautiful estate and ranches. Tip: take the drive from Rainbow to Fallbrook via the town of De Luz (just west of temecula). You will not believe you are still in California! Absolutely gorgeous! I even managed to find a rogue avocado tree in the middle of nowhere. Picked a few to take home. If you want relaxing, quiet, private and to "get off the grid". This is the place. I was looking for a cozy bed and breakfast to celebrate my anniversary with my girlfriend. I found the Rainbow Inn Bed and Breakfast online and it exceeded my expectations. Scott and Donna are the owners and they were amazing. You are staying in their guest house, but they are completely unintrusive and you felt like you were completely alone. They greeted us when we got there and showed us around the property and we never saw them again during our stay. We had full use of the pool and sun deck and had complete privacy. There were hiking trails nearby, but the temperature was over 100 degrees so we never left the room and the pool. The next morning we were treated to an amazing continental breakfast of fresh apricot juice, bagels, lemon bread and fruit. Scott and Donna attention to detail in the room and breakfast is second to none. We had a great time and would absolutely stay there again. read more

I just spent the weekend at the Rainbow B&B i was overwhelmed with the hospitality and the warmth the owner Donna. The Barn is a special little guess house separated, from owners home. The breakfast was perfect everything you would want for a Sunday meal. The only reason I am not giving this review a five is due to some of the decor of the room which,was offensive. read more

What a wonderful getaway! My husband spent a very quick 2 days here relaxing, reading, exploring and pampering. The owners were so friendly and once they met us at the door and gave us the tour, we didn't see them for the rest of the weekend. They have created a whimsical haven for quiet travelers. We enjoyed our wine on the patio watching sunset, and were so surprised at the bountiful breakfast awaiting us at the door in the morning! Also, April came to give me a massage out in the sunshine.... most amazing experience with the birds singing overhead! I hope we can return for many more romantic getaways to this little nest in the mountains! read more

My husband and I stayed for a few days just after Christmas. Everything was great, from the personalized welcome sign when we pulled in to the driveway to the wave goodbye on our way out. I loved that the location was private and secluded so that we felt like we were all alone, but also close enough to town that we could go out without a long drive. The place was cozy, the breakfast was tasty, and we were relaxed, which was exactly what we were hoping for. Dona was a great hostess, attentive yet not intrusive in the least. We will go back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool and breakfast on the deck! read more

Initial Communication - Dona reached out to me continuously and I was excited due to the communication. She shared they had an open room and reached out to check in on the day that I was driving. Visually - Outside patio and deck was beautiful. Beautiful pool. nice greetings throughout. We had the warmest welcome note. Cleanliness - Book area was comfy and nice. I loved the books and their family photos were beautiful. The bathroom was also really nice. I had a slight water problem but that's just because the water heater was off. Bedroom was a little concerning. There were white hairs in the bedroom on the floor and bed. Potentially from a dog that were all over my clothes. By the end of my stay I was covered in bug bites and my skin was burning. I brought this up and was told that it's spider season and was then asked if I have stayed in bed and breakfast inns before. I felt the statement was very presumptuous not only about how often I travel, but also that other bed & breakfast inns are comfortable with their guests waking up covered in bites. I was hoping that sharing this information would lead them to clean the room when we stepped out or put something down to prevent further bites. Instead, I got a defensive text about their cleanliness and asking if I have stayed at a B&B before without an attempt to ensure their spaces were clean. My guests were also covered in bites. I have a doctors appointment scheduled for this week to confirm that the bites are spider related and not bed bug related (very scary to consider but I have a few bumps all in the same area). Guest policy - $40 a day additional for guests. That was communicated to me early and I shared that I might have guests coming with Dona. I am unsure if Dona and Scott were on the same page about paying. I shared with Dona on Saturday morning that a guest stayed Friday night. Scott came down to share with us that our wine tour driver arrived and abruptly shared, "You need to pay." My guest then felt uncomfortable for staying the night. I didn't feel like that was the warmest way to request payment, especially if I communicated days earlier via text that I would pay if a guest stayed. I requested that further conversations about money come directly to me (the person who booked). Scott also shared information with our wine tour guide that they do all of their wine tours. I wasn't aware of that nor did they ever talk to me about it. I actually reached out to Dona about winery information and she said there were great groupons. Why our wine tour guide was told this was beyond me. Why he was made to feel uncomfortable picking us up is also beyond me. Why I needed to learn about the conversation between Scott and my driver from my driver and not from Scott who clearly had feelings about it was also beyond me. The check out is flexible. We were asked to leave at 11:30. I complied, but felt like there could have been a deeper reason why we were not offered flexible check out. I will never know, but what I will find out about is the status of the bites on my skin. In the future, please ensure that all spaces are bug free for guests. There is certainly something that can be put down or sprayed. read more

I live In Los angeles, My boyfriend and I wanted to do a weekend get away. I CANT stress enough how amazing our stay was. We travel very often and this was by far the best stay we have had. So much space for two. The decor is incredible and cozy. Scott and Dona are so Hip and really know how to make you feel at home. although they gave us our space I would totally go out and have a glass of wine with the two of them. So convenient if your visiting for some wine tasting, bring a bottle back and sit by their amazing pool or on the huge balcony and look at the the beautiful view. We didn't know what to expect coming to this place but this is a hidden gem in the hills near Temecula. Dona and Scott were terrific hosts and their attention to detail was much appreciated. This is a fantastic place for a romantic getaway close to casinos and wine tasting. I stayed here back in February 2012 for a winery weekend in Temecula, and as the previous reviewer said, this place is amazing!! Donna and Scott are the sweetest couple around, and will give you complete privacy during your stay! I saw them twice, once on check-in and once at check-out. However, they leave you all their numbers in case you might need to reach them. I unfortunately only stayed for one night, so I really couldn't take full advantage of the private balcony or the private pool. But I just want to mention that the balcony at this place has spectacular views!!! If it wasn't so cold when we went, I'm sure we would've had all our meals and drinks out there. And I believe there is a BBQ grill out there...not entirely sure if you can use it. There was just one thing I disliked about this place, but obviously not enough to take away any stars. The bathroom does not have a door separating it from the living room, but there is a curtain. And the toilet is behind a sliding door, but it's far from providing complete privacy. I went with two very close friends, so this was not an issue. However, if you're going with anyone you would be embarrassed to fart around either choose another B&B or plan to use the bathroom at the wineries. I made my payment with cash, so I'm not entirely sure whether or not they take credit cards. But cash is king, right? Overall it was an amazing stay!! Donna and Scott are wonderful, and very easy to speak with/make reservations with. I definitely plan to stay again on my next Temecula weekend getaway. read more

The Rainbow Inn is the perfect, most comfortable connected but off grid secluded but not "in the boonies" place I have ever stayed. Yes, its true, Donna & Scott are the perfect hosts and family like - unless you don't like your family - then they are those great comfy non-pestering neighbors everyone wishes for. They're available if you need them - otherwise - invisible. When you book, make sure to ask about the massage specialist too. She was perfect. The unit its slef essentially has 3 rooms. Living area - bedroom & Kitchen-et with a nice shower. Yes, toilet too. There is a 40 inch TV with a VCR [yes - vcr] a non-blue ray DVD player, a CD player and about 10,000 books to read. A cute porch area, a HUGE deck above, a pool, some little trails, trees and just the right amount of get away from everything to bring the romance back into your . . well, romance.. Couples and those seeking solitude will love it. Comfy bed, nice couch... come on - if you don't get it by now then you will just have to visit and see for yourself. Tell them Gil and Nina sent you.. lol... Oh, a word of caution for the last 150 yards of the drive. There is a sharp left hander then just after the curve - a very hard right turn into the drive way. Be careful. Donna and Scott are wonderful, cute and great hosts. Breakfast was perfect - not to much, not to little. Bring food of you choice for quick meals - there is a microwave and little fridge too. I will say this my fellow yelp-ers, if there was a 6th star to give, I would gladly give it. Fabulous find! My husband and I stayed here for three nights while visiting family in Temecula for Christmas. It is a private guesthouse detached from the main house. Scott and Dona, the proprietors, are very helpful and approachable if you need them but otherwise, they give your space. The bed was super comfortable. You also get a delicious continental breakfast delivered to your door each morning at whatever time you request. It was more than the two of us could eat. Our two small dogs were welcome and it was great having a safe space for them to play and run around. We will definitely be back! read more

This was probably one of the best places I have ever stayed at. It's also nice staying at b&b's, there isn't many around and if so you're usually sharing with other families. The couple was wonderful and kept to themselves, but were around if you ever needed them. They were all about your privacy, but also really helpful. The back house is where you stay and we felt right at home. There are plenty of books, amenities, and even a suggestion book filled with restaurant options and several activities. They have an exquisite backyard and a pool for guests use as well as a beautiful garden and observation deck where you can enjoy stars or your delicious breakfast provided. They have cute sayings throughout their place and even made it personable with little notes and a welcome sign with our names. Lastly, I left a charger here and they mailed it to me right away free of charge which was really nice of them. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back! My husband and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary at this amazing and charming B&B! Dona and Scott have perfected the perfect private getaway. We drive up and a personalized message greets us and Dona was outside ready to greet us and make us feel like part of their family. The place is secluded, quaint. charming, lovely! The walls of the stable turned guesthouse are lined with books! (Perfect for us, we are nerds/geeks and readers). It is AMAZING how far away you feel from normal life and the city, but how truly close you are to Temecula ! We will definitely be back ASAP! Going to any other B&B in the area is the WRONG choice! The breakfast was so personal, fresh, healthy! I love the flexibility of the breakfast time. There is a beautiful and huge deck to enjoy the scenery and weather and ambiance. My husband and I have visited this incredible bed & breakfast multiple times because there just isn't any other place that compares! It is quiet, it has beautiful grounds and surroundings, as well as, a magnificent view of the valley, PLUS, the owners were beyond warm, friendly, and welcoming, upon our arrival! How could anyone enjoy a B&B with other people all around, when here there is one private, clean, and cute house in peaceful surroundings of nature? The whole area is quiet and soothing. My husband and I enjoy sitting on the top of what might be 'our' home, not sure, and enjoy the view, which on a clear day you can just see a bit of the ocean. Their pool is always immaculately clean, fun to just relax with a drink and watch the breeze move the water. Oh, a unique and wonderful way to let them know when you want breakfast, is their small chalkboard by the door of your 'home'. Every day can be a different time, in the evening, just write the time breakfast is desired and it arrives on the 'button' There is the amazing array of breakfast items that Scott brings, every day is special; fruit, juice, muffin, egg, or a special bread w/butter, and on and on. Never a repeat basket! Personally, I cannot imagine how Dona and Scott come up with the wonderful baskets of food for breakfast, we usually find we are keeping some things for later!
