They supplied everything needed to make guacamole and even gave us a bottle of white and red wine! The house was beautiful and very comfortable. We had planned this trip with a group of friends. It's often hard to please everyone in a group but absolutely every person LOVED this house. I sometimes prefer hotels over renting a home because I like the cleanliness and luxuriousness of a hotel, but this was MUCH better. The towels were extremely fluffy and soft, the beds were like sleeping on a cloud, and they even provided little amenity baskets in each bathroom. Everything was done to the service standards of a hotel but with a much more cozy, homelike feel. It was a perfect house for a group. The dining table is large and there is plenty of kitchen space. They have a lot of kitchen supplies, so pretty much anything you could need will be there. They also have a smart TV in the living room so you can log in to your Netflix/other streaming accounts and not have to worry about renting movies or bringing anything. The pool was absolutely amazing. The beach entry and waterfall made it feel like you were somewhere tropical. It really felt like a vacation sitting outside in this backyard. We will definitely be coming back to this house in the future! Don and Pat were such great hosts.

SHORT VERSION: Wilson Creek Manor is an Avantstay property…read more "Unparalleled service" is supposedly one of their hallmarks but all I got was very poor service. Oh, and by the way, the previous owner MURDERED someone on this property. LONG VERSION: Booked Wilson Creek Manor directly through Avantstay's website but the day before check-in I got an email saying they had to cancel my reservation because of a broken water heater. Why wouldn't you CALL instead of just emailing? My reservation was less than 2 days away, call and leave a voicemail. I called Avantstay immediately after I saw the email and the call gets routed to some overseas call center. The person can't help and says they'll reach out to the dept that handles this and I should hear back within the hour. 1.5 hours later I still haven't received a callback so I call again. Same response, said I should hear back in an hour. 1.5 hours later, still no call, I call again, now they say I should receive a call by 5pm (5.5 hours later). My check-in date is the NEXT DAY! 5pm might be too late because what if they don't call me back and everyone goes home for the day? Then they change their answer to someone will call back in an hour. But I've heard that one before. FINALLY someone who can help calls back and finds me a replacement property. After we hangup I discover a hiccup. One of the families staying with us was planning to bring their dog they noticed that the new property doesn't allow pets. We paid a pet deposit so this is something that Avantstay should've caught and pointed out. That family had to find a last minute accommodation for their dog so that was another added inconvenience. Another hiccup: I was told I'd receive check-in instructions the next morning. On the way to the property my wife asks for the details of how to get inside the property so she could send it to the other families. Realized I didn't receive those details. Had to call Avantstay once again. Another inconvenience. This is all BEFORE we even stepped foot onto the property. While on the property we discovered someone was MURDERED in that house. This spooked everyone and no one was able to sleep well. We were able to have a casual rehearsal dinner the night before with on the large outdoor patio. The villa is beautiful. But its the innkeepers, Glenn and Susan, that made our stay exceptional. They were accommodating, flexible and kind-hearted. Susan made us awesome breakfasts and worked around my husbands complicated food allergies. Being around rescued animals and knowing that our event fee was going to support them felt really good and aligned with our values and the Ranch had what we needed. Shera is experienced with doing weddings and knew had to direct them and had recommendations of vendors as well although I brought in my own mostly. This is a unique spot in the San Diego area and it was certainly very affordable at the time given what we got and the prices that things go for in San Diego for a 70 person wedding. It's definitely worth checking out.

So many patios and chill spots, rooftop deck, amazing! TVs inside and outside everywhere!! The terrace backyard? You get different views of surrounding areas. Beautiful nurseries, wineries and vineyards in the hills. The host/owner Mr. Moreno was a gracious gentleman. We had a wonderful and memorable time here. The owner, Marino, is a charming guy who is happy to give you a tour, and he's readily available as needed. The house has at least 5 bedrooms, but there is also space to set out an extra bed or two. It's huge. The back yard is a lot of fun - pool, jacuzzi, golf putting green, hammocks, and fire pits. There are some lovely views of vineyards and mountains. We ate breakfast out there and loved it. There's a full kitchen, and there's light gym equipment in the garage. It's far better than a hotel. I'd recommend this to anyone going to tour wineries for the weekend and looking for a fabulous place to stay.
