There are more than 300,000 Sunflowers to pick from and the it is three dollars per person for entry to the cutting field and three dollars per flower. My mother and I had a wonderful time at Buttonwood Farm. There were plenty of Sunflowers to choose from and it's definitely for a good cause. I would suggest wearing a hat because it can become very hot and there's not necessarily paths to get to the Sunflowers. You would have to through the Sunflowers to get to some the Sunflowers. It was definitely fun and we will definitely be back.

It's a $2 suggested donation to enter the field and $2 for each flower on your way out. As much as its a suggested donation, you must pay as you enter and they arm you with a plastic bag to help with your flowers. They also have a set of sheers there for you to borrow on your visit. Now- there aren't clear walking paths. It's just you fighting your way through the sunflowers and some will be taller than you! It's beautiful but hot in that field! I can share my 10 year old's allergies started bothering her out there and my Mom said it was too hot. We clipped our flowers, took a few photos and headed out. Upon exiting we simply paid (cash) for out cut flowers. They had a nice classic truck parked out front-awesome for photos. we did not cross the street but they said they had sunflowers that came in different colors but were probably picked over at that point. It was a nice family activity but be careful- easy to lose children in these tall flowers!

It is not super sweet like the yogurt you buy in the supermarket. In fact it's extremely Tangy which is just how I like it! It reminds me a lot of European yogurt which is made very differently than the mass produced yogurts here. I cannot believe the price of the milk it is so reasonable and so is the price of the drinkable yogurt. If you live in the area and you want to try some fresh milk give this place a try I think that you'll be quite pleased.

Every year in January-February I tell myself I'm going to join a CSA, then I look at websites,…read moredither around, and the idea dies. This year I finally followed through and am so happy I did. One factor to consider is pickup day and location and this one is perfect for me. It's every Thursday afternoon at the new Farm Fresh RI building on Sims Street in Providence. It's right around the corner from my office so I can stop on my way home. It's only been two weeks and I'm already thrilled. Such variety and quality!! Lots of green this early in the season. So far I've had rainbow chard, curly kale, garlic scapes, scallions, frisee lettuce, radishes, tiny salad turnips, sugar snap peas, fennel with a giant top of fronds. They give you an email heads up about some of the products a few days in advance with suggestions for using what might be unfamiliar produce. Can't wait for week 3!
