We interviewed three other roofers before going with rain dance. Couldn't be happier. On time on budget. Very professional throughout.

Next issue, tried to open my skylight - the crew installed my skylight backwards, rendering it inoperable. Sent a guy out, reinstalled it, thought "great! no problem". So I went to open my skylight, it is broken, he damaged it on the re-install. Lastly, I'll let the photos speak for themselves. I have had a call from the owner, Lior Leviav, acknowledging his crew significantly damaged my eaves, burned my fascia, splintered the underside of my patio roof by using nails that were too large for the job, but I have had NO offer of help, repair, compensation to make this right. I obtained 3 quotes from professional painters who will need to file down these nails one by one, patch the holes, re-prime and paint, remove spilled tar from the eaves, repair burned fascia and the quotes range from $5500- $3500. I have submitted a formal request for payment so I can repair this damage that California First Roofing have caused and I have received no written response. There is not one single square foot of roof that is not punctured by these nail holes, splintering my wood. I am disgusted that a company as big as this cannot do the right thing and pay for the damage they caused. When speaking with Lior Leviav about a $4000 quote for repairs, (which does not include skylight repairs) Lior told me "It's not worth my while, the painter is trying to rip me off". In fact it is California First Roofing who is trying to rip ME off. I paid almost $15K for a roof that has leaked, rendered my skylight inoperable, absolutely destroyed the wood beams in my eaves and patio and am now being ignored. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Heading to small claims court so I can get the repairs done. Will update as we go!

Adail the owner…read moreis the most sincere, caring, passionate and thorough professional I've ever worked with. His attention to detail and consideration of the customer's concerns are unparalleled. His employees are top tier, providing solid progress each and every day they worked on my home this week. They were considerate and cleaned up the work-site before leaving each day. I was blown away by the care and consideration that Adail himself offered. He went way above and beyond his competitors when he took care of additional items that were needing attention on his personal dime, not asking for additional money. He truly puts the customer first, he wants to ensure that every job shows the true level of professionalism that he and his crew exude. After all, it is his name behind the business, so he has additional incentive to keep his reputation and name clean. At no time did he "cut corners", nor did he try to upsale me or do any underhanded tactics. His original visit and estimate was the true cost at the end of the project. Adail also personally was up on my roof to take care of a number of wood fascia/trim pieces that were rotted out needing replacement. Him and his team's workmanship was top tier. He took it upon himself to see that there were no eyesores in the fascia, nor the tile selections or even the placement of the new tiles and solar vents. Everything he did was carefully thought out and considered. He went around the neighborhood to evaluate the look/feel to be considerate of the HOA requirements. He took the time to explain anything and everything that I wanted to know about and the reasoning behind the choices that were made. At no time did I feel pressured or talked down to. He took pictures and provided them daily to show the progress and ensure I felt comfortable and any concern/question I had was answered with utmost professionalism. This week there was high winds due to a Santa Ana. Even though his team had put in 9 hours already, they spent the extra time to secure the roof to ensure there would be nothing flying off in the high winds left overnight or rain. Really appreciate his considerateness. Adail took the time to also get to know me and my family. Adail is one of the few people you meet in life and are left with a sense of blessing to have had such a positive interaction and experience. I enthusiastically recommend his company for your roofing needs!

Chris, the owner, was straightforward, professional, and very hands-on throughout the entire project. What impressed me most was that he worked right alongside his crew every day and appeared to work just as hard as anyone on the team. The crew consistently arrived just before 7:00 AM, but never started work early out of consideration for us and our neighbors. They were dependable, communicative, and showed up exactly when they said they would. Another thing that really stood out was how clean and organized they kept the job site. At the end of each day, they thoroughly cleaned the area around our home, swept the sidewalks, and carefully searched for nails and debris. Chris was also very accurate and honest with his estimates. He explained upfront that any damaged wood replacement would be additional because it's impossible to know the extent of hidden damage ahead of time. In our case, there was a significant amount of dry rot and insect damage, but all of the extra woodwork still came in well within the estimated range he had provided. The project was also completed about a day earlier than expected. As an added touch, Chris even offered to paint the fascia for us if I supplied the matching paint. Overall, this was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We've worked with many contractors over the years, and this company ranks among the very best. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing roofing work done.

Best Decision We Could Have Made…read more Choosing a company to replace your roof is a big decision. Your roof protects your home, your family, and a huge part of your property's value. So when the time came for us to replace ours, we looked at several companies. In the end, choosing Cal Roof was absolutely the right call. From start to finish, they were incredibly responsive, kind, caring, and professional. Every step of the process was handled with attention and care, and you could tell immediately that this is a company that truly takes pride in their work. They weren't the cheapest option, and honestly, when it comes to something as critical as your roof, do you really want the cheapest? At the same time, they weren't the most expensive either. What they were was honest, fair, and incredibly easy to work with. I worked directly with Doug, and he's just one of those people you immediately trust. He's personable, knowledgeable, and a straight shooter who clearly loves what he does. You get the sense that roofing is in his DNA. That authenticity and professionalism ultimately made the decision easy for us. The result? A beautiful new roof, no more leaks, and real peace of mind knowing our home is safe and dry. If I could offer one piece of advice to homeowners, it would be this: don't wait until your roof starts leaking like we did. Be proactive. Have your roof inspected regularly and work with a company you trust. For us, that company is Cal Roof. And choosing them was one of the best home improvement decisions we've made.

Although the manager was behind schedule on the first day, they promptly informed us, which we appreciated. After completion, we found several issues: broken garage panels, a missing attic panel, and exposed porch nails. We told the manager when he picked up the check. He called them 'just cosmetic' but said his team would fix them. No one came until I followed up, and repairs were finished on May 30, 2025, including replacing damaged wood on the porch and garage. About three months later (August 2025), brown stains appeared on the porch ceiling. When it rained, brown water poured from the gutters. I contacted the manager again, but he did not respond. The next week, a team member came while we were not home and painted over the porch wood, but this did not fix the stains or the underlying problem. Overall, the initial process and communication would be a 5/5, but the quality of the work and follow-through would be closer to a 3/5.
