Many animals to see! We enjoyed feeding the goats! My 7 month old loved it all! Great time for a great price!

    loved the goats

I saw a truck on the Parkway with an advertisement so decided to stop in. If you like reptiles, this is your place ;) It also had lots of goats to feed and llamas in the farm yard. I liked the very large tortosies and birds. Of course, the monkeys were adorable and playful too. But lots and lots of snakes and reptiles ;) It was a nice place to walk around and check out the animals...

We really enjoyed all the different animals and exhibits! You can feed the goats, emus and Llamas. There are many different animals and info in each animal so you can lean about them!

It was so clean and felt brand new. All the animal enclosures were so well designed, freshly cleaned and all the animals had food to nibble and clean water. Very impressed with how well cared for all the animals were. They were all really active, awake and interacting inside their enclosures, which is always a plus. You can buy bags of food to feed the goats, llamas etc. Would definitely recommend getting bags of food. There was a real variety of animals to see too. Would definitely come back.

This was our second time here. We came in 2019 but were only able to stay for about an hour. We watched the animal show they put on and the guy was hilarious. We got to hold and take pictures with the snake. The kids had a good time. Lots of reptiles. just wish there was a little more to see.

We have been to this attraction several times and enjoy the trip every time! Row, row, row your boat can be heard throughout the attraction as the bird, Row sings his serenade. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We absolutely loved this place. The animals were fun and well cared for. Loved the gift shop - one of the cheaper ones in the area. They have some amazing fossils for sale there. Had a fun time petting the goats and sheep. A family favorite we plan on visiting each time we return to the area. They also sell axolotls there and have so much information about them.

While on vacation, my husband and I decided to take our 6 year old daughter here. We went early in the morning to avoid big crowds. Most of the animals are located indoors because they are tropical animals. There's goats, sheep, monkeys and a few birds outdoors. It's not a big zoo but there's plenty of different animals to see and read up on. This establishment does practice pandemic regulations. Our visit was around 10am and we were all done in about an hour and a half. The gift shop has lots of great items and I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable it was considering the prices I've seen at other zoos gift shops. But I think the ticket entry should've been more affordable considering the size of the zoo. Paid $60 for three adults and 1 kid. It was a nice visit for the little one but not the older kids. Our daughter enjoyed it very much. They also sell $3 bag of food for the goats and sheep.

This is similar to a reptile or primate house at a regular zoo, they just have small exotic animals. It smells like those enclosed areas do so nothing we weren't expecting. I would equate this to going somewhere like that. My daughter loved it and it was enough to keep me entertained as well. The main reason for going was to see the Axolotl's and they didn't disappoint. It's a short visit and great to do if the weather is bad since it's all indoors.

I found this place on Groupon and I'm glad I did. We have a 3&5yo and they loved seeing the lemurs and monkeys jumping from tree to the wall, etc. It's all indoors so you don't have to worry about rain and there is air conditioning if it is a hot day. There are a few nocturnal animals I had to explain to the girls that they sleep during the day and are awake at night which was actually nice to show the difference between nocturnal and diurnal. Obviously with animals it is difficult to pick the perfect time to visit but there were tons moving around and eating, jumping and active when we arrive around 10am and throughout our stay. The girls loved seeing all the different animals. They especially loved feeding the baby goats and big sheep in the back and the cute baby monkey.

Off the main road, this little zoo is a good spot for adults and children. First, it is wheelchair accessible and second it's inside. There are lots of reptiles, marsupials, mammals, and birds from America, Africa and Central and South America. You can try to pet the Guinea Pigs, but likely won't catch one. Upon entering, purchase a bag of food and outside there are sheep, emu, and goats ready to gorge upon the pellets placed in your open palm. There are tortoises and a monkey too. In my opinion, some of the spaces seem a bit small for the animals and that was difficult for me to reconcile... but I also believe part of the mission here is to preserve species. The staff are friendly and seem connected to that mission. There is a gift shop with some very nice items from around the globe. In all, this is a good place to get away from the outlets and parks and learn something intriguing.

Getting to hold the baby birds in the nursery was a unique experience. They were playful and sweet. If you want a souvenir picture I suggest not paying in advance for it if your going in couple/group. The picture we got was a single $45 versus the paying double the ticket price per person in advance. We then had lunch at the cafe wich was really good. The driveway is steep, so be careful. Once there, the parking lot is a little small, however we found a spot pretty easily. You enter up a ramp, pay at the check In booth. Here you have a chance to buy the nectar feeding tickets, $3 each. I would 100% recommend this, if you want to be up close and personal with some birds. With military discount, nectar feed, and taxes for 2, it was about $72. Once inside the park, you walk trails, seeing the beautiful birds, some on posts, hanging out as you walk by. There are signs on some of the posts, don't feed/pet as you enter and walk around. You get close to the birds and plenty of photo ops. Some birds are in their cages, some just on posts as you walk around. Part of the tour you get awesome smoky Mountain View's. Soon your at the feeding/petting section. You walk into the area, there are still signs and rules, don't pet the ones that say no petting or feeding on their posts. When touring this area there's plenty of birds to pet, pick up, hold, feed. The feed costs a quarter, so bring some, or a few small bills 1s or 5s to buy feed. Some parrots here are loving and friendly. Once you're done here you continue the tour, shortly you'll be at the Nectar feeding area. The staff gives you a small cup of nectar and explains what will happen. Once the door is open, be prepared to be swarmed by small beautiful birds. They swoop in landing on your arms, shoulders, head. I think I had at one time about 6-7. This lasts about 10 minutes. Once you leave there you continue the tour seeing more beautiful birds and the nursery, then end at the gift shop/deli before heading out. Overall would recommend coming here if you love parrots, and birds.

I definitely think that $21 a person is extreme especially since minimum wage is $7.50. So this is kind of a tourist trap. But they should definitely do something about the pricing. Was 3 of us and Ive been to others like this in Montana with Bears and another wildlife one.... but prices were better. So you park and pay and can buy a pail of feed for $5 then drive the property. You can go more than once if you want. The first 1/3 had no animals, so not sure where they were hiding or if there were any in that area. You take your time because some animals want to walk right in front of your car and wont move. The zoo is huge, so they had the ability to give animals lots of space! The black bear had his own little mountain nook (we didn't get to see him, though he was probably hiding from all the heat that day). We saw a baby gorilla playing with his mommy, that was worth flying from Boston to Knoxville just to see those eyes. There is a Turtle Trail were you get to go inside with the turtles and have them climb on your feet and feed them and scratch their backs...how cool is that! The budgies were pretty cool, you get to go in the enclosure with them and feed them seeds on a stick. Gorgeous, amazing creatures!! The green and blue ones are from The wild and the white ones with blue back are the bred ones in captivity. The otters for sure stole the show, they just played and played in the water, my son was psyched to see them !! The red panda was jumping all over and wanted to get in with the rest of the sleeping pandas on the bamboo trees...what gorgeous animals. And the Rhinos!!! Massive massive animals. First time I've seen rhinos and I'm in love with these very scary huge animals. You should see the enclosure that they had for them. It was very generous, full of mud and massive rocks. OK, I could go on and on about all the animals in there, but the most important thing that I wanted to say is that the sponsors of this zoo respect animals, they don't put them in a tiny enclosure and call it good, they actually spent a lot of effort on matching the natural habitat that these animals lived in, and they gave them room to roam! Also per their campaigns and posters within in zoo, they are trying to save endangered and critically vulnerable species from extinction. They do a lot of work and awareness about the lifestyle of the animals, especially that the staff is super friendly with lots of youths working there and learning about these beautiful animals and transferring this knowledge To visitors. Also, how thoughtful are they to include fun stuff for kids like a huge sandbox, slides, tunnels, climbing rocks, a beautiful merry go round with all the decorated animals, a water park for the kids to jump in fountains (wish I knew I would have brought my kid a swim suit)... my kid had a blast anyway!! They built a whole massive treehouse with a rope bridge so that you could see the gibbons and red pandas up in the trees. Massive enclosures, statues, canopies, overlooks....they thought about everything!! Not only did my kid have fun, my husband and I had tons of fun too. So did my mom! What a wonderful day. I will definitely donate money to this establishment that really cares about the conservation of animals and treats them with respect.. thank you Zoo Knoxville staff abc sponsors. Know before you go: 1) Tickets are $26.95 per adult, $21.95 for kids ages 3-12, seniors, and college students. My favorite was the red panda encounter which is at 3pm everyday. 5) They do have a greatly curated gift shop with something for everyone including magnets, hats, clothing merch, and stuffed animals.

We had a fabulous visit to this vast natural wonder. We learned that Park is the largest natural habitat in the continental U.S. The signature "smoky" appearance of the mountains is caused by an evaporation of organic rich moisture released by the vegetation within the Park. We started our visit by stopping at the visitors center to pick up a parking permit ($5/day) and maps ($1). I was glad we picked up maps because there is very little internet connectivity in the park, so we lost our navigation tools. The leaves were not on the trees yet (April) so we had magnificent uninterrupted views of the mountains and skylines. Spring wild flowers were in bloom. And we actually saw a mother bear with two cubs crossing the road. Each day during our visit we explored a different part of the park. We hiked to waterfalls and enjoyed scenic overlooks. We enjoyed exploring historic cabins and cemeteries. Popular sites were crowded and sometimes we had to wait for parking. Plan to arrive early. The park is filled with parking areas to pull off and enjoy the views or hike. Rest areas are available at many of the major sites. Leased dogs are only allowed in camping and parking areas and on two of the many trails. Bring good walking shoes, a hiking stick is helpful, water and sun glasses. You probably need to bring snacks, but keep those secure from wildlife.

With plenty of children around me clearly enjoy enjoying every second while in this aquarium, it's also clear that the adults and parents had something they could enjoy as well! We were able to see the entirety of the aquarium in about two hours, and the layout of the aquarium is great with a clear path to make it all the way through. Honorable mention to the awesome saw sharks. I actually don't know if that's their actual name, but there're nose kind of resembles a saw and they are so cool during the automated walkway through the tunnel of sharks and fish. It was so bizarre to just look up and see huge sharks right above me!! I was also really impressed with the amount of space these animals have. I know that zoos and aquariums can get a bad rep, but these animals really do seem very taken care of and happy in a simulated natural environment. I like how they included the water treatment room as a part that people can see because obviously these animals require very strict water treatment plans in order to keep them thriving. The penguin station was also one of our favorites!!! It was so cool to be able to crawl through a tube "into" their enclosure in a dome like clear glass and be surrounded by penguins!!! You can read the names on their flipper bands to tell them apart, and you can really get up close to see the differences in their beaks or features. I thought that was so cool. I liked the amount of cool snacks and beverages available too! I got a frozen peach lemonade that was so yummy. We were here during off peak time, but it was still very busy. I would recommend that you find a groupon/deal to get it at a cheaper rate rather than the usual $50/ticket they offer it for because I genuinely do not think it is worth the $50. I would definitely NOT recommend the fun pass for adults, but would for children (at the discounted price). Our second day on the mountain, we went snowboarding and that was a very fun time for my group and I. Ober has snow machines, so it is not real snow and instead is icy, artificial snow. I can imagine during the colder season, it may be softer and covered much more. I went in early January for reference. The employees are very nice with helping you strap in boots and understanding how to strap into board as well. I decided to do a lesson, which I would recommend for anyone who has not snowboarded before. Although I enjoyed my time, I do agree that it is fairly pricy, considering the size of the mountain compared to other resorts I have seen. I understand the weather determines which lifts are avaliable but the "snow" was ice, no where near snow texture. I think a day of snowboarding would cost roughly $150+ here for day pass and gear rental. My downsides for Ober are the price, the fun pass, and the snow.
