My husband was a recent patient at Rainier Rehab for a hip fracture. We had problems from the beginning getting the staff to move him safely, feed him a diabetic diet, administer his medications and weigh him at the proper time. Most of the staff were very accommodating. However, because the doctor and nurse practitioner were unwilling to adjust his medication when he needed it, my husband has been hospitalized for a week. He developed huge water blisters and sores on his legs as a result of their negligence. At one time, he was left on the toilet for so long and the nurse did not respond to the call light, so he had to get up himself. There was constant urine on the bathroom floor because the equipment was old and inadequate. Many times there was noone in the halls or at the nurses station through the day. Wait times for a response to a call button many times exceeded an hour. It is only pure luck that he did not fall again undertheir poor care. The facility is old and outdated. The phone didn't work properly due to being old and dropped so many times. I had to bring in many things from home because they provided a bed and old nightstand period. We chose this place because we were told it was a 5 star facility with a doctor and nurse practitioner 7days a week. There was no doctor or nurse practitioner on site on the weekends. Be very careful if you place a loved one here. The staff is friendly and seem caring, but when you need real medical help, the doctor and nurse practitioner make the decisions. In my husband's case, their negligence caused him a week in the hospital. read more

I cannot say enough good things! My father is in Rainier and the staff, from Receptionist to Admin to Nursing to Therapy are amazing. I am so thankful my dad gets to be there. The building is older, but clean and the staff actually cares. I would tell anyone that has the need to place a family member in a facility, you would be lucky to get a place here. They take such good care of my dad. A special shout out to Rose at the front desk; Darina in Admin; Stacy in Nursing Admin; Roeun, Clement, Eunice, Stephanie, and Peggy in Nursing; Carly the shower queen, Jordan in therapy and finally M, who might be the best CNA ever! This facility is truly outstanding. It far exceeded our expectations! Let me start by saying that being only 54, having a severe case of Covid and then being told that I will need to go to a rehab facility, well... this news was devastating to say the least! I entered Rainier Rehab after being Trached. I had been in a coma for 6 weeks and this portion of my journey was necessary to get off the Ventilator. The staff was VERY supportive. The RT (Respiratory Therapy Department) and the PT (Physical Therapy Department) were instrumental in helping me achieve my goals and finally after nearly 6 months, return home to my family. Rainier Rehabilitation went above and beyond what was necessary to help me ween off the vent and build up my strength. When I arrived I couldn't walk due to muscle atrophy. Gaining my strength and learning to walk again was truly empowering. Being weened off the vent was a miracle! I attribute my success to the fine Staff who gave me back my Independence & Freedom! Facility is phenomenal and the front office receptionist to office staff is amazing, kind, considerate friendly and always greets guests with a friendly welcome to the center. The staff is kind considerate and so good with the patient/residents. They go above and beyond it is such a comfortable environment for all that enter the facility as resident or guest Facility offers healthy meal selections and a very very clean facility Enjoy working together with everyone. My father has been there for about 3 yrs now. They have stolen 2 of my dads baseball hats,all his seahawks clothing,blankets,pillows,north face jacket,sunglasses and his reading glasses. My dad had bad rashes under his arm pits,under his briefs and really bad toe nail fungus. One day I went to visit him,his clothes,pillow and blanket was soaking wet from urine. When they gave him a bath they didnt clean very well caused bad dry and flakey skin. Ears filled with wax. Clothing dirty from food droppings and when he ate they didnt wipe his mouth. CNAs were very mean to my dad which made him upset and made him cry. We gave my father a phone so we can video call him and we can hear his cna scrolling him. Rainier Rehabilitation is a skilled nursing facility who specializes in post acute rehabilitation as well as respiratory services. The staff and mangers of the facility are very skilled at what they do and that is evident in the results the facility gets. Not only are they amazing when it comes to caregiving and rehabilitation, they also know how to have a great time! Yesterday I got to witness my 3rd facility parade since the COVID-19 shut down. This is a great way for the patients who have been cooped up due to the pandemic to safely get outside and do something out the usual. The facility staff coordinated for a large group of hot rods to parade through the parking lot while the patients were out, 6 feet apart and donning masks. It was incredible! The other parades consisted of the resident family members decorating their cars and driving through the parking lot while a live band was playing and to-go bbq was provided for everyone who participated. I've never seen such a dedicated team to serving their patients and family members. This facility is truly extraordinary! read more

I have not had a good experience with staff. I could not get any answers in regards to my uncle - whom I am the POA for. I could not get call backs and due to COVID no visitation unless previously scheduled and then no one to answer questions. Needed to have him at an appointment call a week ahead to have them schedule transport and could not get a confirmation on this and then the person staffed he needed his military ID to get on base when the appointment was at the VA in which I was meeting him. Also, the toilet was leaking asked for 2 weeks to have it fixed and they only placed a towel around it. Kept saying they were going to fix it. Left items at the front desk for him and had to go in and remind them to get them to him after calling again. Was placed on hold for 20 minutes and still no answer. My mother has been at Rainier Rehab for the last year and half and I can't say enough good things about them. I see a recent post that says their father's clothing was stolen and that the staff were mean and made their father cry, but I have not experienced this at all. Yes a couple of my mother's clothing items have gone missing, but this is not uncommon in communal living, but the facility replaced every item quickly. I have never seen any staff member ever be mean to any of the patients and I am very concerned with Jenny stating this was happening to her father and she did nothing. I would think if this kind of thing was going on, you would remove your loved one right away, and not let them live there for 3 years. My mother had a stroke and we toured quite a few nursing homes in the Puyallup area and I can't say how happy we are with Rainier Rehab. Not only do they provide excellent care, they also kept COVID out of their building, and not 1 patient ever got COVID. Our family is So Happy that we chose Rainier Rehabilitation to place our Mother after spending months in a hospital intensive care unit. After arriving at Rainier and still facing a major surgery, she was treated with extraordinary skill, professionalism and kindness before and after the surgery. The Entire staff at Rainier are wonderful from janitorial staff to the Director, nurses and CNAs, doctors, dinning room staff, reception, clerks, rehabilitation and maintenance staff. Everyone is kind, helpful, caring and paying attention to their residents and facility from top to bottom. If anyone asks me where they should place their parent, guardian, family member or loved one, I would not hesitate to immediately recommend Rainier Rehabilitation.
