We recently bought our house and the roof is made of tile, which we have since found to be problematic when trying to find a vendor to clean and work on it. Fortunately we found Rainier Roof Restoration. While I generally never give five stars because I believe there is always room for improvement, they did a great job and were very respectable towards the house, the items surrounding the house, and overall clean-up. They worked us in at the last minute when another job canceled so we had the work done inside of a week. Our roof was a mess, it didn't look like it had been cleaned since it was installed in 1999. The gutters were black (they are actually white), and there was so much moss on the roof. Now, after their service it looks brand new. The gutters are white, no moss, and they were even able to fix a number of cracked and damaged tiles. My only concern, when we originally reached out to them back at the beginning of the year, we never heard back. The owner did apologize for doing so, and once we started texting him about this new job communication was quick and efficient. Their prices are a bit steep (pun intended) but you do get what you pay for! read more

Have a cedar shake roof and did a ton of research to see who was the best most trusted company out there for these types of roofs and Rainier Roof Restoration came out on top. Super professional company that knew their stuff. Came out and did a cleaning and treatment and the roof looks brand new. Unfortunately, they did overspray some onto the neighbor's house, but they were very willing to make it right and came out multiple times to clean and fix up any overspray. Not the cheapest company out there, but I feel like you get what you pay for. For anything cedar shake, I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

Trying to be fair here, because these guys didn't do the work. I called for an estimate, technician shows up and says I will be called the next day. 2 weeks go by and not a word from Rainer Roof Restoration. When a company is that unresponsive, you may want consider taking your business elsewhere. They may do quality work, but responsiveness and communication are good proxies for how well an establishment is run. I went with someone else, you might want to consider that too. read more

Rainier Roof Restoration did a fantastic job cleaning, replacing shakes, special oil treatment, and clean up on our cedar shake roof. They even did some painting on our chimney facade. We were looking for a company to clean and oil treat our cedar shake roof and reached out to Rainier Roof Restoration for an estimate based on their good reviews and specific experience with cedar roofs. A gentleman showed up on time to take a look at the roof and we were quickly provided with a quote (thus the 1 extra star), and received a phone call immediately after, before we could review the quote. The man I spoke with said it was fine if I emailed back with any questions, which I did -- twice. I was interested in the grade of replacement cedar shakes they'd use and vague line item pricing out how many might be needed, as well as what type of oil they'd be using. I never received a response. I understand roof maintenance isn't as big a money maker as a new roof installation, but a customer's a customer. read more

I had Tony and his guys come to my house to clean my roof and also do some pressure washing. I could not be happier. They showed up early and completed the job. Made sure that everything was cleaned up before leaving. Much better job than previous workers in years past. It is hard to find a company that follows through from begging to end on what is promised. These guys did and they did it on a professional level. read more

I spoke with Anthony he sent his employee Cruz out by the next day, Cruz saw the leak problem but also saw the terrible job guardian roofing did a year and a half ago on my roof near my skylight and wall they never fixed it right and the plywood was bad never replaced. Long story short I was very happy with the knowledge Cruz had and happy with Anthony I would refer Rainier Roofing and use them again. Summer is just starting so I won't know everything until it rains hard but right now and with the way it looks I am happy and so is my friend who noticed where the leak was coming from but also noticed the work that Guardian Roofing did leaving me with a soft plywood and curve in the area building up water and diverting the rain that caused the leak. read more

BEWARE of this company. The owner is a total shark and how workers ruined my cedar roof and tried to fix it and it ended up looking horrible. I have photos upon request and have been treated poorly by the owner like the damage was my fault. Have reported the company and called our HOA to ban any future work with Anthony . read more

I had a roof leak last year that Rainier Roof Restoration fixed promptly and at a reasonable price. A few weeks ago the same area started leaking and I contacted the company about the problem. They said they could come out and evaluate the problem as well as clean the roof, treat it if necessary, and clean the gutters. I said OK and they came out a few days later. I got a call about the bill and they said it was $1,000. I told them that sounded high since I usually pay my roof and gutter cleaner $150. They took only $125 off the bill which they e-mailed to me as a lump sum without a breakdown of the charges. What they told me is that they expect to get paid at least $1,000 per roof job. I should have asked for a quote before I agreed to the work but I expected them to be reasonable like they were the first time. read more

Called rainier roof restoration because of a post on Angie's List. Two weeks later, received a call from Anthony (owner?) around 1pm to schedule an inspection of our roof and moss cleaning. Anthony stated that his crew would be over in a couple hours; around 3 or 4 PM. It's now 7PM and no show or call. Would I hire such an unreliable trades person? DUH? I like to deal with reliable contractors. Guess they do not need the business. read more

Nov 11,2015, before the winter storms set in I called Rainier Roof check my roof for any tile damage /weak areas and routine cleaning. His worker checked it and said the roof was in condition. 2 days later the rain was pouring down the west side of the house; I called Andy owner of Rainier Roof Restoration and he did send his worker the next day and repaired it. He was paid by my insurance promptly. Three weeks later he called me that he was sending his worker to clean the roof that evening. I told him I was out of town. I do not want anyone to come to my house when I am not there and that the worker must come during daylight hours when I return after two days. I came back to the house found the windows, siding, front and back porch filthy with moss and gunge from the roof and gutters! I called Andy and said that he had scheduled the guy to work and since he, Andy was on vacation in Reno probably forgot to cancel it! I told him his worker had left the outside of the house filthy. I asked him to send me pictures of the cleaned roof and gutters. And that he should send his worker to clean the mess. He said he was busy with storm damage and that I should hose it off myself! Which I did except I could not clean the windows and underside of the eaves. I told him he should send someone professional to clean it. He didn't. I reminded him several times, he ignored my calls, instead, demanding to be paid. I have sent him emails and text messages; now he denies that the house was left dirty! I sent him pictures asked him to see. He did not bother but become aggressive and rude. He said I can cut $50 when the bids I got from 3 different cleaners were $320 to $370. Turned up at the house without intimation, parks his truck out of sight and tried to surprise me. Started yelling when I tried to show him he said I should have cleaned it myself! I told him no way and that he was being unprofessional. He called me a 'B' and threatened to take me to court!! I called 911 and he then left jumped into his truck and left. I could not believe such rudeness and despicable behavior. Later the police came and reviewed the case and said that I should take him to court for bullying and extorting payment for bad work. This is the worst experience I have ever had. read more

I called Anthony to get a quote for a small hole I identified on my roof from a branch after a storm. It was over my garage and I temporarily fixed it, covered it up and made it easily identifiable. I then immediately scheduled 3 quotes all for the same day day so a decision could be made quick for the official repair. Anthony from Rainier Roofing was the second of those 3 that were scheduled that day. He seemed eager for the work and very accommodating at first, but was vague on the phone and quick to keep trying to close the conversation with "you want this repaired ASAP, right?" to which I stressed the fact that I'm just getting quotes and will go with whomever is cheapest since we are remodeling in less than a year and a new roof entirely is apart of that remodel. He then asked if we would like a quote for a spring cleaning while they were up there and if we could inspect any other potential areas that may need repair. I said sure, while you're up there, that would be nice. I wanted to be there, but he was unable to accommodate my schedule and insisted he have someone just go up on my roof while I was not home to take a look. I agreed thinking obviously, is get a phone call as with every other time I've ever gotten "quotes". However, I was able to be home for my 1st and 3rd quotes. It was when my 3rd candidate met me at the house, climbed up on the roof and asked where the spot was. I described the location and he said it looks like it was repaired. At first, I thought he meant my temporary repair and was flattered, but then he said there were patch jobs all over the roof. That's when we discovered it had already been repaired! I hopped up on the ladder to take a physical peak, and sure enough - the area I had identified was repaired, as well as several other shakes! I, very confused, apologized for wasting his time, but wanted to make his visit worth-while so I asked him what this work would have costed through his company and for a quote for a spring cleaning while I tried to get my wife on the phone and ask if she was home somehow and gave Rainier Roofing authorization to go ahead and repair our roof. After showing pics of what the small hole looked like on my phone and inspecting the work that was done, the fellow said he would have charged about $250. Since that was lower than my first quote by $125, I figured the cost from Rainier Roofing was likely going to be somewhere in that ballpark and that my wife must have given the okay to just get it done. I finally reached her and she said she did not and was not home because she was called into work! From that time on, Anthony would not give me the total over the phone and just said that a bill would come. It finally did - for $741(!!). There was no authorization, he did more than what was asked, and there was absolutely no communication whatsoever beforehand - no card, no phone calls or VM's, no invoice on my doorstep, nothing! When the bill finally came 3 weeks later(!), I immediately called him. He got aggressive over the dispute, swore multiple times and said my other quotes were bullsh*t. Had he communicated the other areas in need of repair and the amount of shakes that would be required, he would have also learned that I could have saved much of the cost because I had 2 bundles in my garage and I would have asked that he use those! I cannot believe somebody would repair something without first asking permission and saying what it would cost!! Furthermore, when I called him on the couple of occasions that I did to try and get the cost, he answered and was quick to interrupt, "look pal, I don't even know who you are. Give me an address. Your name means nothing to me". That was how he greeted me both times I called him. The rudest, most unprofessional and shady person I've ever had dealings with. Do NOT use this company. They will take advantage of your not being home, assume the sale, charge the highest most unreasonable price and have extremely shady business practices. To top it off they will insult you, your intelligence and any of their competitors you may have also gotten quotes from. What poor professionalism! read more

While the work was sufficient, the customer service was NOT. I got a dunning call for payment on the job 2 days PRIOR to receiving the invoice in the mail, which was followed by three harrassment calls within 4 days, including a threat to "add a late fee" because "payment is due on receipt." I have a lot of respect for local businesses and try to use them - but honestly. It took them three weeks to complete a two day job, which was fine with me, because it wasn't urgent. In return I expect a modicum of professionalism, which means letting customers get the invoice before accusing them of late payment. read more
