I have an old Rainbow but I love it. Has a broken latch and the handle keeps popping off the connector where the button is. So frustrating I was ready to order the whole new handle part!! I was introduced to the Rainbow vacuum in the 90's and instantly was hooked. The machines are not cheap but worth EVERY DOLLAR! I had to wait 12 years before I finally purchased my Rainbow vacuum. It was my gift to me in 2013. The amount of dirt and hair it picks up always surprises me. It works brilliantly on wood, tile and carpet. You use the beater bar for most carpets and the flat wood/tile attachment for the bare floors. It also has attachments for upholstery, which works like a dream! I love the fragrance selections they offer and have my favorites that I use during the year, like orange, and cucumber melon in the spring and summer and then apple cinnamon in the fall and winter. The fragrance wafts from the machine as you vacuum but is very light, never too much. The staff that I have talked to over the years are consistently knowledgeable and friendly, you cannot find this much anymore but, trust me, they always deliver. I recently needed a new water pan and could not remember when I purchased my machine but they still have all my records and helped me decide on which product would be the better item for me. I decided to go with the new model water basin and new caddy. Now, when it arrived, less than a week later, as it fit differently on the motor section of the vacuum, I could not get it to work. I called them at almost closing time and the friendly staff walked me through how to best marry up then new water basin with my original power section and onto the new caddy. Sounds like silliness but I needed help and they walked me through it and no more hiccups setting it up and running it. If you have pets and or children this is the best vacuum in the world. I will never not use a Rainbow vacuum again. read more

I'm very dissatisfied with this company Rainvac. They lack customer service skills. I purchased a fresh air concentrate fragrance thinking is was the same formula they've been using for years and this doesn't smell like nothing. When I called their customer service dept. the gentleman that answered the phone was very rude, disrespectful and lacked customer service skills. He said that " The ingredient that kills germs has been increased due to COVID, which has caused the smell to lean away from the fresh fragrance smell." I tried to tell him that I wasn't satisfied with the smell and very rudely he answered " well if you don't like it return it. I asked for a return label not knowing that he was going to charge me for the shipping. He never mentioned that he was going to charge shipping. For a small item that I payed $25.15 he deducted from my refund $13.21. This is not acceptable. They change the fragrance and don't advise customers and then we payed for their mistake and have to listen to that rude men. Worst company I have ever done business with. Will never buy from these crooks again. **In response to your comment in your response. Where does it explain in your return policy that you need to charge double. You charge me for two labels when I only use and received one. The gentleman in customer service said he was going to email me one and I never received it. I called again the following day and the lady that answered the call said she would email me one and that one I did receive. I decided to repair my Rainbow vacuum and used RainVac to acquire parts. The employees at RainVac were very helpful when I called for advice. The parts arrived in a few days and for the most part were in good to excellent condition. There was one issue with a gasket that became damaged in transit. RainVac had a replacement to me immediately, no charge and no questions asked. Some parts are very difficult to get so RainVac has to provide slightly used products. They are transparent about this and the parts function as new. I plan to overhaul my power nozzle in the near future and I will definitely use RainVac for my parts. The product is so awesome. I have had for 25+ years with dusty conditions and big hairy dogs. The product is superior in cleaning without the dust getting in the air because it goes through water and completely removes the dust etc. I finally sent it in to be cleaned after 25 years- was still working just did not want to be without it for any period of time. I have had my rainbow vac for about 7 years and wouldn't give it up for the world. I noticed the roller brush was worn out and ordered a new one through RAINVAC . I ordered a hose attachment for my Rainbow vacuum. Even though I did not rush it, I received the part more quickly than expected. I was also surprised that they had the hose attachment, since my vacuum is super old, from the '80s. Even though the hose attachment looks a bit different from the one I had, it works the same. All the rainbow stuff is made cheap. Made to break. As expensive as it is should be better quality. Works good when its new but rapidly breaks down. Will dime you to death with repairs. I needed a floor brush for the old rainbow that I have used for over 10 years. The reason I needed a floor brush was because I ordered one from Amazon and it was NOT made for RAINBOW, It was a knockoff and it did not work well. It did not fit the floor poles very well. My first impressions were correct. I called to ask a question -(leave a voicemail) about a part as it related to which serial number of machine I had. Someone answered the phone! On a Saturday a native English speaking person answered the phone and helped me with all my questions. Wow! All the items I received were new, and packaged as expected. I ordered the following: * Gasket, Motor / Water Pan, E * Gasket, Water Pan Neck, E2 * HEPA Filter, Second Version, E * Switch Actuator, PN2E, v2/v1 * Belt, PN2E, PN2, R-Series I did end up with a question about the Gasket for the motor. I called again on a weekday during business hours. Someone walked me through how to pull the motor. I had an additional question (that I figured out on my own) I left a message, and they called me back the next day. I read some of the other reviews, and I was shocked at what I read. I live in Phoenix. We are in San Diego frequently. I searched all over trying to find a place to just bring it in or get the parts, but was unable to find anyone to service my vacuum as Rainbow is proprietary. I was happy to find a company online but was not happy about how far away it was. My primary concern was shipping time. I did standard shipping shipping and it took around 3 days. To review. I got assistance when I needed it. Ordering and Installation. The people I spoke to understood me, and I could understand them. The people on the phone knew the product inside and out to the point of quoting part numbers and walking me through how to get to it online. I received everything I ordered without issue. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! My husband and I ordered a re-furbished motor for our beloved R2D2 rainbow vacuum cleaner, we we really excited to find one on the RainVac site. We also ordered a new seal and a few screws. The product arrived and when my husband installed the motor it would not run. Now mind you my husband is an aircraft electrician so he knows his stuff. He tried every which way to get it to work- no luck. He called RainVac and the agent said " we dont' sale those any more because they don't work". WOW. OK- so we re-ordered and received a new motor- yea it works. We got free shipping on our first order because it was over $200 and free return for the defective motor and free shipping to send the new motor, so far so good. When I checked for my refund of the original order I noticed that I was charged $14.59 for shipping- that didn't seem right. We called RainVac and the agent told my husband the computer charged us the shipping on the cost of the seal and screws. What?? That made no sense to us. She actually said " you do not know how many people spend $200 just to get free shipping and then send the parts back". Again What? We asked to speak to her superior, we asked for a refund of our shipping and he said "the old rainbows were a piece of shit and he did not even know why they sold them". Again- What? He then said " be glad that we even support rainbow and that we would not get out shipping back. We neglected to get his name but I did notice another customer said Daryl was nasty and would not listen to his concern. Watch Out!!! Ordered several items, of which one was not in the package. Sent email notifying them of the missing part ( bar). They called home and talked with my husband, since I was at work. He told them it was not in the shipment. The lady wanted me to call back, after telling him that it is impossible, they have automated packing and mistakes are unheard of. She would not take my husband's word for it. I am not calling them back. The part is $6. Thank goodness I did not buy the new power nozzle for $175!!!! The power nozzle replacement plate was of much lessor quality than the original Rainbow part. Do Not Buy from them. I have had my Rainbow Vacuum for over 35 years. Got it when I got married. And not that you would want to know this, but when we went through a divorce this vacuum was the first thing on MY list of things that I wanted. Yeah, sounds shallow, but it really wasn't. Anyway, I wanted to mention that I remember that my grandmother had a rainbow too and she lived on a ranch. Dust and dirt everyday. She loved hers too. Today the motor broke away from the head - the motor that connects to the belt that turns the brush in the power head. It didn't just come loose, the plastic that the screws went into to secure it broke right off. I IM'd with Jamie and he hooked me up with a quick fix- right away. Seriously it took 7 minutes. And you have thought into your product so well, that you have a secondary way to bracket this piece so that it secures to the correct position. Nice thinking! You guys have a great product and take your customer care seriously. I truly appreciate it. THANK YOU! BTW: I suffer from asthma and this is the only vacuum that does not upset my lungs when I use it. Truly awesome. read more

I called to schedule repair of my rainbow vacuum. I am in southern California and was told a shipping label would be emailed to me. I never received it. I called back and left a message. My call was not returned. Then I emailed through the website. I received a call and scheduled a pickup for my vacuum on a day I knew I would be home all day. I bought a box and shipping paper. The day before my scheduled pick up they called to confirm. I was at work in meetings. I called back in the evening but because of the 3 hour time difference they were not in. I left a confirmation message. Today at 630 am Pacific time they called and woke me up to say they are not picking up the vacuum. That it was not scheduled. Betsey the shipping manager said it would need to be on a another day or that she could send me a shipping label again. I told her that it was already boxed and that I could not carry it down the flight of concrete stairs that way. She said she is 72 years old and she could carry it. It is an extra large box. I told her my knees are very bad and I was afraid of falling. She insisted it was not that heavy or big. She said she will have the shipping guy call me when he gets in but they most likely cannot pick it up today. I don't think it is appropriate to offer service to the west coast, if you fail to understand the difference in the time zones. I could have responded by email also if they needed the confirmation that badly. I explained to the guy I spoke to that was working from home. Betsey was very rude and condescending. I am not sure why she thinks it is okay to belittle her customers physical capabilities. After I got up and showered, I called back and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I wanted to complain about the service and the way Betsey had treated me. Betsey answered the phone and told me no manager was available to speak to me. I told her I wanted to speak to someone above her and she put me on hold to come back and say the same thing. She says she will have someone call me. She is the shipping supervisor. If she is the shipping supervisory, how come she cannot schedule the pick up? It is midday at their store but no one is available to speak to me? This place is ridiculous and obviously incapable of handling business outside their area. They are also rude and disrespectful to their clients. Save yourself the belittlement and find someone else, not to mention the 22 dollars for a box and packing. read more
