Overhyped for What You Get I honestly don't understand the hype around Raising Cane's. I finally gave it a shot after hearing so many people rave about it, and it was pretty disappointing. The chicken was dry, period. That's the main thing they serve, so it's kind of hard to overlook. The Cane's sauce is the only thing that really stood out as good -- it carries most of the flavor of the meal. The fries are mid at best, nothing special. The bread is literally just plain Texas toast with butter, which is fine but not exactly exciting. Even the sweet tea wasn't very sweet, which feels like a miss for a place that leans into Southern-style food. I really don't know why kids love Cane's so much. There are so many other places that serve chicken that tastes way better and offer more variety. Honestly, KFC feels like a better bang for the buck, which says a lot. Maybe it's just the hype machine working overtime, but for me this one didn't live up to it. read more

There is always a wait to use the drive thru no matter if it's busy or not. It's not like they have an extensive menu it's always going to be 15 minutes. I came yesterday and there was 1 car ahead of me and it was still a long wait. Also the portion sizes are comically inconsistent. Sometimes it's good but yesterday they gave me the tiniest pieces of chicken I've ever gotten from there and like a half serving of fries for a 3 box combo. The food here is quick to serve, the menu is simple, and the price is commensurate to the quality. Anyway, I went here because a friend of mine wanted to treat me for some lunch, and I agreed to go here. I love the fact that all Raising Cane's open as early as 9am! We got to beat the lunch rush when we got here at 11am. The servers were nice and the chicken fingers were good! Of course, I had to get their delicious lemonade! I think I prefer this restaurant over the one in Mira Mesa because it is a little closer to where I live and it has its own parking lot not shared by other businesses. Raising canes has gone downhill so fast. The prices have gone waaaayy up and the size of the chicken and amount of fries has shrunk drastically. The staff is usually friendly enough and it's almost always packed but the size and quality of the food just doesn't match the cost. This review will probably fall on deaf ears however, it needs to be said. I regularly frequent this location because I work late night hours and it's one of the only few places open. I came in on a Saturday night right before close and a girl took my order and she asked if I wanted any sauces or sides to complete my order. I asked for extra hot sauce on side. When I pulled up to get my order , girl gives me my order and closes window after I paid. I always double check my order and she had forgot to add hot sauce so I signaled her and she very rudely told me they were closed . I wasn't trying to order anything else, I just wanted to get my order correct. She proceeds to open window to ask what I want , I said there was no hot sauce with my order. She says you want some hot sauce? and throws the entire container full of sauces at me in my car. I've never been so disrespected at any establishment especially customer service. I got home and threw everything away and will never eat this location again. Don't work at a place late nights if you're going to be rude to customers. Definitely hop out of your car, and go inside to place an order instead of waiting in the super long drive-thru. Today we each ordered the box combo, which comes with 4 chicken fingers, toast, fries, coleslaw, a drink, and cane's sauce. The cost isn't too bad for a combo, and it seems they mostly just do combos here. The food came out quickly and it's pretty good chicken. The seasoning isn't anything "special" but the texture of the chicken fingers is good. The flavor can get a little bit tiring (one-note) by the time you're on the 4th one, which is why I'm docking it a star. The toast, though, which I always get double of instead of the coleslaw, because it's so soft and buttery. The chicken was sooo delicious, crispy, with great sauce and I loved the coleslaw and sweet tea. It's affordable, too. Needed a meal and was in Santee so decided to go to Canes. Long drive-thru line so decided to run in and order. No line at all inside and a nice cashier named Chris took my order. We chatted and in a couple minutes my to-go order was ready. Ate the fries on the way home, yeah, the yummy Texas toast, too. Enjoyed my 3piece chicken fingers with the awesome dipping sauce. I could drink that stuff( well, almost). It's not sweet, a bit tangy and is the big draw for me to get chicken fingers at Canes. this place has messed up tons of my orders. i usually get a caniac combo and sub the coleslaw for toast. i often dont receive the substitution. one time i even received less chicken fingers than i was supposed to and when i asked for the missing ones got a dumbfounded look. today they gave me only one of the two sauces that is supposed to come with my order. If I am paying for a good, then I am expecting that exact good to be delivered to me. It would be nice to retrain this location. I only go to it because it is the closest location to me. First time here. My cousin and my aunt were realllyyyyyy raving about how Cane's was the best place ever. We went through the drive thru because inside there was a long line. The drive thru went by quick and there was a woman outside taking the orders. (For some reason the screens were down so she had to be outside). Despite being in the cold, she gave us time to look over the menu and was nice. We ordered 4 box combos with Texas toast. And one caniac combo with Texas toast. Lemonade was average. The box combo was a good size, the fries were good. Not crispy, but I prefer soft fries anyways. The sauce wasn't anything special, I wish it was a bit spicier. The fried chicken wasn't dry and the coating was pretty good. The Texas toast had a good toasting to it and was nice and soft. I think it would be good with slaw, but my cousin said their slaw is too monotone. (Mushy, no complex textures or anything). Overall, I probably wouldn't come back again. This is a great location of Raising Cane's! The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was that the restaurant is pretty clean for a fast food place. It's not like it is spotless, but it also isn't a train wreck in there, and I'll take that. Anyways, when I came up to the counter, I was greeted by a friendly employee, and placed an order for a box combo with a Diet Coke, and extra Cane's sauce because I'm actually addicted to that sauce. It's so good! Additionally, the service was very quick, despite it being very busy, so I got my food without having to wait more than a few minutes. Plus, the food came out hot, and it all tasted amazing. The chicken was tasty and crispy, while the Texas toast was soft, buttery and delicious. The fries were also crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and really good. The Cane's sauce obviously made all of this 12 times better too. Also, I don't even like coleslaw, but the coleslaw I got from here was actually not bad. Overall, this is a good place to go if you're looking for a fast food place that will hit the spot! read more

Chicken: Super crispy and tender. Isn't oily at all and combusting with flavor. This was my favorite thing to eat. Fries: Soggy and cold a.k.a not so good fries. Coleslaw: Nonexistent (they forgot about it). Lemonade: Super refreshing and could tell it was fresh-squeezed. The perfect amount of sweetness. I'm a fan! One of the best fried chicken burgers I've had & chicken strips & they have crinkle fries, CRINKLE FRIES I tell you! Been hearing bout Canes for awhile now & I'm glad I finally tried it. Liked it so much I went back to back days the first time I went with the family. We all loved it, wife & kids, which is good because it's hard to find a place we all like but we did with Canes. We all loved the fresh chicken & crinkle fries & don't forget the toast bread, that was pretty good especially with the special sauce they give you. And for the healthy or old people they got fresh cold brewed Ice Tea sweet or unsweetened. Tho the customer service was fast & friendly inside & in DT they can be a little more alert on keeping the tables clean in the lobby. Both times there was a few tables a bit dirty & they ran out of ketchup in the lobby. And wish they had a few more different sauces for the chicken strips.
