I was referred to this office by my primary care group for a colonoscopy. I read these reviews and figured I would see what I needed to do to move the referral. I have never talked with such rude office staff in my adult life. Even before I mentioned I did not want to utilize the referral the woman answering the phone was hostile and rude. If I wasn't sure I wanted to be a patient in that practice that sealed the deal. Yelp, you need negative stars. Jumping through hoops to get my referral moved however am confident it will be worth it in the long run. read more

Dr Rajat Sood is obviously very busy, but he's thorough, professional and doesn't waste ANY time. Procedures performed (colonoscopy and endoscopy) went uncomplicated (thank God) even though I have some medical issues at both ends ugh . All of the staff were very friendly and their personalities really helped me relax. However I gotta admit.... I was kind of shocked and nervous when a Michael Jackson song came on as I lay on my side waiting for the sleep med to kick in so I could be "probed". Especially knowing I was being put to sleep with the same meds that MJ abused and died of. But that sleep medication was amazing ! It was absolutely easy on my system! I drifted right off to sleep and once done awoke with no problems/issues nor concerns (no wonder MJ was hooked). Thank you Dr Sood for taking care of and treating (me) your patients regardless of their insurance! And THANK YOU for enduring my constant and LOUD farting after the colonoscopy . I still wonder why I didn't hear anyone else farting . People need to stop trying to look cute and let that gas OUT! Dr Sood himself is not that bad but the staff ... the most unknowledgeable group of young ladies... if not unknowledgeable then it's laziness! I called to have Dr Sood to return my call because I was in pain the girl on the phone said "I will leave a note for Dr Sood to call you back"... (keep in mind I called @11am thinking he was going to call me back before the day was over) 4pm comes around and still no call... I call them back and the girl then says "oh he won't call back until tomorrow, when he gets in" .. she clearly failed to mention that I won't be hearing from him until the following day! So me being in pain I suck it up and wait.. finally noon hits the next day and I'm completely over calling them to try to get through to him.. A true professional. I appreciate this doctor so very much. My colonoscopy went without any problems. The staff were efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous. They all worked together like a smooth running team. It was incredible. After the procedure was complete and I was awake, Dr. Sood came to tell me exactly what he had done, to let me know that the polyps were sent to the lab and that I was going to be ok. Upon leaving I was given a complete report on what had occurred including pictures of the polyps he had removed. I cannot give Dr. Sood enough praise. read more

Rajat Sood MD tore my spleen during a colonoscopy on 9/17/14 and I just finished paying off the hospital bill. I tried to get him to pay it but he just said he could make sure I never had to pay a co pay to him again. I told him I can do that too and fired him. It took him two days to come see me in the hospital after my ER Dr kept calling him. When he arrived, he said he couldn't believe this happened to him. I said,"happened to you? It happened to me." What a narcissist. I turned him into the AMA and tried to sue him for my hospital bill (30,000) but the lawyers said that although it is a malpractice case, since I didn't need my spleen removed and I survived, they didn't think it was worth it to pursue. I would stay clear of this doctor, and I use the term "doctor" loosely. Because of him, I will never have another colonoscopy again in my life. read more

All too often I'll have a bad/terrible experience with a business in the Valley, and I'll decide against posting a negative review. I do this for a number of reasons, but usually it's because I don't want to punish the employees working for the person who treated me poorly. That will not be the case with "Doctor" Rajat Sood. First, I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled 3:15 (being a first-time patient, I wanted to show up early to hand in my *already pre-filled out* paperwork). By the time I was called back at 5, I was more than a little upset. I remained calm, however, and asked the receptionist if I should be worried: "Shouldn't it stand to reason, that if you can't handle booking your patients, you might not be able to handle, you know, my bleeding stomach?" The receptionist was very nice, and apologized profusely. Which I understood. At 5:20 (more than two hours after my scheduled 3:15), in walks the 'doctor.' I ask him why the wait was so long, and he explained other patients needed to be seen before me. 'Well, obviously. I heard 15 names called before mine,' I thought to myself. I was angry, but doing my best to not show it. I spoke softly, and I kept my eyes towards the floor. Then Sood demanded that I looked him in the eyes -- show him 'respect' he says. I ask, "Respect? Who was the one who missed out on half their work day because you wanted to overbook your patients?" With that, Sood kicked me out of his office. I apologized to the front desk for having to work for such a terrible human being. And I came directly home to write this review. Friends, your health is far too important to waste on an evil person like Rajat Sood. I implore you, do NOT make the same mistake I did -- which, if you're checking Yelp, you're already ahead of the curve. Dr. Sood is arrogant and only cares about how much he can bill your insurance. He requires multiple followup appointments just to get prescriptions filled. Like a previous review stated, he tried to do my EGD and Colonoscopy on 2 different days. When I refused to have the Colonoscopy because it wasn't necessary, he became very angry and condescending. Then he refused to fill my prescription for GERD, which believe me, has nothing to do with colonoscopies. He was just trying to force me into agreeing to a test I didn't need. I stood up, said "We're done here", and strode out of his office with my head held high. He's not the only game in town. And he's always at least an hour late for an appointment, even though he never spends more than 5 minutes in the room with patients. read more

I'm not sure where to begin or how to spare people from going through what my mother is going through. She had a procedure called ERCP which simply put is long scope they go through your mouth to look at your pancreas and potentially remove any stones that may have collected causing the discomfort. It was explained to her rudely by this Provider that there's a chance that 10% of these cases carry complications and she was fine with those odds though she was rudely told and advised to see someone else if she continue to ask questions. My poor mother and step dad thought they were getting Dr. HOUSE MD based on his arrogance and had full confidence with him and decided to get the procedure done. The next morning she was on the floor in pain and my poor mother can take pain like no other is in anguish with a belly so distended and hard. Long story short she remains in the hospital five days and counting with all kinds of Intravenous medications. The damage luckily did not need to be surgically removed hoping it would get absorbed as time heals. After speaking to a few knowledgable providers what happened to her could have resulted from someone overly aggressive or in a rush to perform a procedure. It could also be from someone with a weak lining of the stomach. The moral of the story is if he had treated my mom with some compassion I would not be writing this post to spare others. The healthcare profession is a calling and those that lose that compassion should not practice. Please be very cautious you're not getting Dr. HOUSE. read more

Dr. Sood needs to listen to his patients to show he actually cares. I honestly felt rushed the whole time. He kept cutting me off as I was talking about my symptoms in detail. I was referred to him by SW Medical because they had no openings for 90 days. Went to the appointment and after filling out pages of questions was called in. A medical student walked in and asked me a whole bunch of questions, pushed around on my stomach and listened to my heart. Then he left and came back with the doctor a few minutes later. The doctor looked at me and said you need a colonoxcopy and my staff will schedule it and walked back out. He was in the room less than one minute for my $50 copay. I didn't have a good feeling about it, but did schedule the procedure. After reading all of the negative reviews I am cancelling! I was referred to Dr Sood for a GI problem I had been having for several months because my Internal Medicine Doctor wanted me to have some procedures done. It took almost one month to get an appointment with this doctor. After waiting in his office for almost one hour past my appointment time I was able to see him however prior to actually seeing him I had a preliminary workup (BP, weight, etc) by a medical assistant who was obviously sick with the flu. I requested that she not come near me or touch as I had just spent 9 days in bed with the same. Dr Sood entered the exam room and immediately said to me "I have seen you before" (this was my first time) He them asked me why I was there and as I started to explain to him the reason for my visit he immediately interrupted me and told me to stop playing doctor and went on to give me incorrect information about the medication I was on and its effects. I found him to be rude, pendantic, unable to listen, incorrect in his assessment and possessing a "god complex". I immediately cancelled the procedures he scheduled and will not see him again! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I can't even explain how much trouble this physician has caused me. I've had to beg other doctors to take me because they now consider me a "second opinion" even though dr sood didn't even give me a "first opinion" he was LATE to my EGD as I was scared and laying there with the anesthesiologist waiting on him while everyone at the center was telling me he should be on his way. After a long time of waiting I finally saw him for a follow up and he says everything was fine it's just IBS. I've had SEVERE stomach pain for over a year a know it's not IBS. But he refused to listen to me even one sentence. He's never let me speak to him at all and only sees me for 45-50 second visits and then hands me papers about not eating fried chicken. I'm 25 and I eat almost completely paleo. He's not only dangerous but he also makes you feel horrible with how he speaks to you and how he makes it feel impossible to find a cause for your ailments. read more

I'll add in another voice of having a positive experience with Dr. Sood. He is brisk, to the point and efficient. He's not a doctor to pat you on the back and be your buddy, he's a doctor that will get stuff done to figure out the problem and he'll get it done quickly. He was able to help me after being refused to be seen by VA GI docs and treated like crap by ER doctors. Finally got down to my multiple issues in my upper GI tract and now treatment can begin. After my wife's release from the hospital, she was given a directive to see a Gastrosomethingorother. She was also given a list of names to choose from. We chose Dr. Sood, as he was listed as a provider on our insurance, and was on our side of town After a couple of VERY brief visits, he told her she needed to have a colonoscopy. With me being over age 50 and never having had one, he recommended I get one too. His office staff let on that the procedure had to be pre-approved by my insurance, and scheduled us for colonoscopies at the same day/time/location. Did not hear further from the office staff regarding any issues with insurance, so we assumed all was well and showed up for our procedure.... a couple weeks? later. The procedure was scheduled at the Henderson surgery Center on Wigwam in Henderson, near Gibson. (As it turns out, Dr Sood is a part owner in this place with some other doctors) The staff at the Surgery Center was AMAZING! I can't say enough good about those folks, but the praise ends there. As it turns out, even though Dr Sood himself is covered under my insurance, the surgery center is not. It also turns out that it is the policy of my FORMER insurance (Anthem Blue Cross) that anasthesia is not needed for a colonoscopy! How I would love to see the decision maker on THAT, on the table! As a side note, I later called the office of EVERY gastrosomethingorother - gist listed in the phone book, and asked if they administered anesthesia during colonoscopies. Guess what? 100% said they did. That should tell you what you need to know about Anthem Blue Cross as the insurance folks that will "take care" of you. While trying to get to the bottom of all of this, I contacted Dr Sood's office several times. They were at times apathetic, hostile, or arrogant. At ALL times they were useless and excelled at passing the buck to someone who was enevitably never there. Speaking of that, Dr Sood's office manager is none other than.... Ms Sood. She was always out of town when I called or left a message, and never returned a single one. Our followup appts went just like what the previous guy described; 3 minutes and out the door. In short.... He was OK. The surgery Center Staff was great. His personal staff ....... 6 points past "terrible". My recommendations... find another doctor. read more

I am a Registered Nurse and I accompanied my parents for my father's first appointment with this doctor for liver cirrhosis. He has cirrhosis of unknown cause and has never been a heavy drinker. We waited two hours and then the doctor came into the room. My mother gave him a typewritten list of bullet points regarding his diagnosis and complications and he saw cirrhosis-unknown cause written on it. He said "what do you mean unknown cause. It was alcohol. It's all over his chart". When we said, no, he's never been a drinker he rudely cut us off and informed us "of course that's the cause but it doesn't matter anyway". He barely glanced at my father and definitely didn't examine him. Then he condescendingly informed us all that we need to know that liver cirrhosis can't be cured so there's nothing he can do for him. As if we didn't already know after 7 years that cirrhosis can't be cured. I explained that we're aware of that but it can be managed and he proceeded to cut me off again and just say "no" to everything we attempted to discuss. Realizing it was pointless to attempt to communicate with this man we gave up. To top it off, at the end of the appointment he shook all three of our hands and then said "sorry about the wait today but I'm actually sick myself. I have a fever". Excuse me? Now you're trying to pass your illness on to my seriously ill father? We rushed out of there and immediately washed our hands. We will not be returning. Do not see this doctor! read more

Dr. Rajat Sood is a bad doctor. He performed a routine colonoscopy on my fiancée. He punctured her spleen and had to go to the ER that evening due to excess pain. She has to pay for the two day hospital stay and all other doctor bills. Including his post visits for his malpractice. This is just no fair to patients . She also had to miss work and pay for prescriptions. He souls lose his license for this. He is arrogant saying that this is just an unfortunate circumstance. This person should not be allowed to practice medicine at any level. We have all documentation. The state prevents him through loopholes in the law. He is a danger to all. read more

My primary doctor sent me to Dr.. Sood. Because of his referral I didn't check Dr. Sood's reviews, I should have. He was horrible, has the bedside manner of a slug, spent 30 seconds with me, wouldn't let me talk, argumentative and when I went, for a post colonoscopy appointment, he yelled at me. He claimed I had something I didn't and claimed, on my last appointment, I told him such and such. I never said anything even close to that! How dare he make an incorrect assessment. Does it become Medicare fraud if a doctor bills for something that is incorrect and not even told them by the patient? No matter what, I will NOT go back to this doctor again. After the "cleansing" (5 Dulcolax and a whole bottle of Miralax-a 14 day supply according to package) I wound up having an ambulance called to rush me to the Emergency room at St Rose Dominican (great hospital!). The ER doctor was furious at the cleansing which left me severely dehydrated. Overheard the ER doc say "that's the third one this week, that Dr Sood should be investigated!" I will add my one star review to the many that already appear. I went to an appointment with my wife scheduled at 11:30 and didn't get to see the dr. (using the term loosely) until 12:30. No apologies for being late and when my wife asked him a question, he got very angry and interrupted her and me every time we tried to say something, intimating we were stupid and couldn't understand what he was saying. Finally, I became exasperated and told him he was running a business and we were his customers and this is no way to treat us. He replied that we were not customers but patients and there is a difference. I told him I couldn't stay there anymore and he told me to leave, so my wife and I walked out of his office, never to return. By the way, he just lost a customer. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write something like this, but this man needs to change his attitude. We have lived here 14 years and I have received great medical care, but I would recommend that you find someone else if you are looking for a gastroenterologist. If I could give a lower rating than 1 star, I would. Dr Sood has to be the worst Dr. In Las Vegas. He is very rude, uncaring and Incompetent!. Several years ago my husband saw him for some very serious abdominal pain.We should of, got the message, from the initial visit to his office. He walked into the room, spoke maybe a total of 3 minutes. Fussed at my husband for having to use some pain medication, said he would have to do an upper GI and colonoscopy. He then abruptly walked out of the room. No greeting, no good-bye, nothing! The girl at the desk who schedules the hospital appt was equally as rude. The experience at the hospital with Dr Sood was just as bad as the office appt. The colonoscopy was not completed because of being impacted. Dr Sood talked to my husband like he was scolding a kid, for incomplete preparation. He followed the instructions completely. He then gave the results of the upper GI, and that was it. He left us hanging, no further instructions. No come back to my office, no nothing! Two days later my husband was back in the ER in terrible pain, from being impacted. The ER Dr. called Dr Sood, at his office. The ER Dr, was shocked as well. DR Sood told them to just send my husband home. He refused to come to the hospital ! He is all about money! He does not care about his patients at all. My husband was admitted to the hospital. Dr C Herrero, came to the hospital, not having seen him before. He was kind, caring, and all my husbands test were completed. By the way, we had 2 insurance, Dr Sood charged $600 just for the 3 minute office visit. We wound up owing more to Dr Sood, than the insurance paid. Dr Herrero accepted what our insurance paid as full amount. Save yourself From this DR. I was just reading the reviews on line since my insurance was trying to send me to him. I went to him in 2009 and he was the nastiest person I've ever had to tell off. He treated me like I was an idiot, he is the idiot. Senior Dimensions is the idiot for keeping him on their list of Gastros. His office girl messed up getting the last colonoscopy from a very good doctor, herrera, after arguing with over who was supposed to get the last report i left, his wife gave me some crap on the way out and made a big mistake by sticking her finger in my face. She is lucky she still has a finger. How dare her and how dare him, these doctors forget that THEY WORK FOR US, we don't work for them. With out the people who HAVE to go there they wouldn't have a job. He needs to go back to India, I used to have customers like him from those nasty countries and they thought we should bend over and kiss their behinds. Not this person. After 20 something years of stomach issues my primary Dr did blood work and diagnosed me with Celiac Disease. I was referred to Dr. Sood by my primary Dr. Lucky for me I had already read a book on Celiacs Disease written by a Dr so I had a really good idea what to expect from my GI doctor. Dr. Sood didn't know what he was talking about. He told me and mother that Celiac Disease is an allergy!!!! Which it is not! It is an autoimmune Disease! He said it does not cause damage to your intestines!!! It actually does damage the villi in your intestines causing malnutrition! When we asked about having a scope done to see how bad my intestines were he said I didn't need to have it done but if I do it, it will help pay his bills!!! (His words not joking) Dr. Sood had no compassion and acted put out for having to answer questions. If you're looking for a compassionate Dr who will listen and help this is not HIM! If you're looking for a Dr who's in it for the money...well you have found your man! read more
