As a healthy patient with lab readings all in the normal range, I didn't really find the need to go see him other than those yearly visits. All the other months I wasn't seeing him I still paid the $60 monthly fee which amounted to $720 a year for one annual physical and bloodwork. It wasn't really cost effective. Direct primary care sounds good in theory. But having a pay per month membership fee (as opposed to a patient paying only for the services that are used) makes it a costly proposition for those who are in good health. I was basically subsidizing the cost of the people who were more regular visitors, which is the same idea as insurance (albeit with a benefit of less paperwork and bureaucracy). With the few times I did visit Dr. Hawkes the office was friendly and professional. But I found that the practice wasn't a good fit for me. Not everything he was communicating to me was accurate to my situation and I disagreed with some of his views. I would totally recommend him though for a patient who needs help treating diabetes, heart issues or any other common conditions (that don't require a specialist). If a person needs guidance from a physician in losing weight, he is the ideal person to go see.

His care for my child really stands apart from the other practitioners we've seen over the years, including the very top MAPS- certified doctors in the country. Through my journey I have gained a lot of expertise in the biomedical treatment of autism symptoms and I can say that his recommendations are the best there is. His reports are very detailed and thorough. The supplements he recommends are the very best in terms of quality, but also from the perspective of ease of administration for a child. Now, if this is your first biomedical consult, you might be overwhelmed by the number of supplements he recommends. The way I look at it is he puts everything on the table so you can take over as Dr. Mom/Dad. This saves you money. Other practitioners might make things simple by offering one supplement recommendation per visit, but you have to keep going back to pay them more. The most important thing is my child is making real progress! Family, friends, teachers and therapists are commenting that they see the difference. I'm also grateful to Dr. Nik for pushing me to try S2C. I didn't really believe him, but it turns out he was right. My child is a brilliant speller!!!!

She was extremely condescending and rude to us, taking every opportunity to tell us how dumb and ignorant we were (even when we were very informed, having researched the topic in question). She also seemed to take every opportunity to tell us how smart she was, how much experience she had, whom she knew in local hospitals, etc. She wanted to treat and order tests for my husband solely based on her interpretation of his labs, without any questions about his symptoms or history. We had to really fight and talk over her to get her to even register some very significant, relevant info from his patient history. Even then, she wanted him to do some very expensive tests we would have had to pay for out-of-pocket and which would have involved lots of time and hardship and unnecessary procedures, when he had no symptoms to indicate these tests were needed (just the lab results, which could have meant many different things). She also missed the condition that my husband actually had. When a lab test came back abnormal that went along with and supported what his symptoms and patient history had caused some concern about, she didn't contact him about it or make any mention of it. He had to take the result to a different doctor who ordered him the medication (Lactulose) and testing that the lab result suggested were necessary, and it did help him. It was a really negative experience. I have debated whether to share becuase I don't want to put negativity into the world, but I thought it might help others to share our honest experience. It was such a negative jarring experience and she was so rude to me -- ruder than anyone has been for maybe 10 years -- that I thought sharing might help others to avoid the negative experience we had, which ended up being expensive and emotionally difficult while we were already going through a lot trying to cope with and confirm his diagnosis. She might be a good doctor for some, and she is certainly very knowledgeable, but we had a very bad experience.

UPDATED REVIEW - 09/04/2026…read more REVIEW FOR DR. CHOI: I have been a patient of Dr. Choi since 2015 (way back when he was in Summerlin in the brown offices starting out - one of his first few patients he started with) , and I can say without hesitation that having Dr. Choi as my physician has been one of the most meaningful and reassuring constants in my life. Over the years, he has been there for me through some of my toughest moments, as well as some of my best. His care has extended far beyond what I believe most people would consider the ordinary responsibilities of a physician. Dr. Choi and all of his staff have made sure I was taken care of even after hours, remained involved through multiple hospitalizations, and consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that I received the care and attention I needed. What distinguishes Dr. Choi from most physicians however, is the way he advocates for his patients. There have been times when I was physically, emotionally, or otherwise unable to advocate for myself, and he stepped into that role without hesitation. Knowing that someone was in my corner--someone who understood my history, listened to me, and genuinely cared about my well-being--made an immeasurable difference. After more than a decade as his patient, I don't view he simply as a physician. I view him as someone who has earned my deepest trust and gratitude through years of compassion, dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to my care. Exceptional physicians are difficult to find. A physician who consistently treats you like a person rather than a patient is even rarer. I am profoundly grateful to have had that kind of physician in my life since 2015. I could not recommend them more highly. REVIEW FOR DR. CHOI'S STAFF (Laura, Daisy, Ashley, Christine, Dani): The staff at this office is truly exceptional. From the moment you walk through the door, you are treated with kindness, compassion, patience, and genuine respect. They consistently go far above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and never make you feel like you are simply another patient. Over the years, I have experienced countless examples of their willingness to help. Whether it is answering questions, coordinating appointments, handling paperwork, communicating with other providers, or simply taking the time to listen when you need someone to help, they are always there. They are incredibly attentive and make every effort to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. What I appreciate most is that their compassion feels genuine. Even during difficult and stressful circumstances, they remain patient, understanding, and reassuring. They have gone out of their way to make challenging situations easier and have repeatedly demonstrated that they genuinely care about the people they serve. It is rare to find a medical office where the entire staff consistently operates with such a high level of professionalism, empathy, and dedication. They create an environment where you feel supported, respected, and confident that someone is willing to help you whenever you need it. The staff is an extraordinary reflection of the quality and compassion of this practice. Their commitment to their patients does not go unnoticed, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they have done for me over the years. I cannot recommend this team highly enough. They truly go above and beyond. *Laura is the WORLD'S best phlebotomist! She's the ONLY one I will let near my arms - she's like a ninja when she gets me with the butterfly needle, because I have VERY hard to find veins and I've been told I'm a "VERY hard stick." Laura gets me on the first try and can get all the vials she needs for labs. I can't comment on others in the office because Laura knows she's the only one I allow to take vial after vial of blood from me. :)

I really felt secure with Dr. Choi while in the hospital…read more Thank you thank you doctor august 18/2025
