Went to Raleigh studios for the showing of the HR from Bad Brains documentary, finding joseph I, playing in the Chaplin screening room, and it was fuckin mind blowing! First of all, Hollywood Rules! I love the electricity in the air and being from New York, I'm totally in my element. Second, finding joseph I is by far the best documentary about music, musicians, punk rock, leaders in the movement of underground hard core that I've seen in years, maybe since Cliff em all. Third, after the show, Jay Mohr and James lathos (the guys who made this incredible doc happen) did a Q & Andy with the audience. Such a great time! My party and I didn't want the night to end, so we went to Guido pizzeria on cahuenga blvd. On Hollywood Blvd biker clubs were poppin wheelies! Unbelievably amazing evening! read more

This is a cool venue! I was here as a speaker for the California Vegetarian Food Fest. I like that the venue has indoor and outdoor capabilities. It was a gorgeous day so being outside was super fabulous! We spoke in an "auditorium" that was upstairs. It was more like a small theater and it was dark. The sound, A/V, and A/C was good. The Veg Fest has a demo stage at the Raleigh Cafe and that seemed to be a good location for speakers. It also attracted people who were eating as they could sit in the shade and enjoy their delicious vegan food from the festival. read more

--PARKING-- Checkout the area/neighborhoods behind and around Raleigh Studios for street parking! I went on a Sunday afternoon for the California Vegetarian Food Fest, and I was able to find street parking directly behind it. --VENUE-- The entrance for CAVFF was actually on the side, not facing the main street. We were able to exit from the back gate, too. This gate led directly to the streets behind where we found parking. The buildings are office spaces for the studios, which gives the whole venue an interesting appeal. It reminds me of Universal Studies slightly. --BATHROOM-- There are bathrooms in the the corners of the venue and side. They are not up-to-date bathrooms, and reminds me of going to park bathrooms.. It needs a makeover. read more

Flew to LA for a quick project and this place is legit. It's been around for over 100 years and looking aound it made it seem so timeless. Everyone that I worked with was extremely professional and nice and I'm looking forward to heading back here in the future. The facilities are big enough to make anything happen so although it wasn't in the actual heart of Hollywood, this place makes things happen. What I loved most about this particular studio is that they have the modern studio side, yet the offices are all in the original buildings that are quite small yet cozy. read more

Went to the LA Cider Fest over the weekend, and it was an awesome event! I love me some cider..and to see that it was UNLIMITED tasting of like 20+ different companies? I'm in! The event started at 2, and they didn't waste any time. On the dot we were let in, and right when we turned the corner, the event already begun! We were given our complimentary tasting glass, and on we went to drink! Literally by the 6th tasting, I was getting so full..and next thing you know..I'm feeling pretty tipsy lol. The event was great! Very well organized, the only con was that it was RIDICULOUSLY hot, and I was sweating BALLS. Other than that, it was an awesome experience, and hopefully they'll be hosting another one soon! read more

Just went to the LA Wine Fest and it was amazing! They had a lot of great booths of wine, cheese, nuts and there were also booths selling fashion (I got some great earrings!). Couldn't have asked for a better afternoon of filling up a wine glass (that you get to keep) and trying out all the great drinks out there. I found $45 tickets (normally they are $85) on Goldstar and got a ticket for my mom for Mothers Day. I recommend getting there early! The lines get crazy about an hour in but then it clears up. We had no trouble finding free street parking around the corner. Such a fun day! read more

Been on this lot twice for events now. It's a lovely little studio location on Melrose right across the street from Paramount Studios. There's ample outdoor space. There's also plenty of bathrooms. There's also a cozy little cafe here that is nice to host a smaller event in as well. Parking is difficult to find on the street. If you aren't invited to park in the studio, I suggest parking at the lot on Van Ness. read more

Whose Line Is It Anyway, where everything is made up and the points don't matter. Raleigh Studio, you get 1000 points for offering free tickets to this AWESOME show's TV taping, but paralleling Whose Line, the points don't matter. Why? Because other than being able to see Whose Line, the inefficiency of this place makes me cringe beyond belief. I've been to a TV taping before so I know to get there early. But this is Whose Line so when they tell you to get there 90 minutes early, you need to get there 3 hours earlier. Not even joking. There was a good 50 plus people lined up when my party got there a good 3 hours before showtime. You might be thinking, well I'm screwed, what the hell am I gonna do for 3 hours?? Don't you worry because you are really only waiting an hour until they start handing out liability forms. They then opened the doors for people to gain access to the restroom because once you're seated, no restroom breaks for you. Not too long after, they started handing out numbers to people in line. Came with a party of people? They're not in line when numbers get handed out? They don't get a number...even if they went to the bathroom. Be there present or have fun hunting down the person passing out numbers and hope you are within the 200 range. The studio looks like they seat 200 people more or less. THEN, you get checked in where you physically give them your ticket. But honestly, the number is the most important part of getting in. Lots of folks were complaining because people in their parties went to use the restroom or went to put their phones away so they were denied numbers. I don't blame them, I would be mad too if I walked away for a second and didn't get into the taping as a result of it. But I mean, what can you do? It means the world to the people in line that they get to see Whose Line in person. As for the people who work here, they can care less who gets in and who doesn't. For that, they need to be strict and anal. Just be prepared. Pro Tip: wait in line until you get a number, then go do whatever the hell you need to do and just make sure you're back once they start checking people in. I came with a party of four with the tickets in my name. Once we got there, one of my friends realized she FORGOT her wallet and ID. Kind of important, just kind of. So she drags another friend to go back with her to get her wallet. Needless to say, when they came back, they were too late to get a number and thus got turned away. Those who get turned away had the opportunity to watch the live taping on TV in a separate overflow room within the studio. Do I feel bad that two of my friends couldn't make inside to the taping? Just a little. But when you forget your ID and the ticket explicitly says you need it, I can't muster much sympathy. At least I got to see it and that's all that matters to me. /Selfish read more

I was here for LA Cider Fest and it was such a cute little studio! It's a nice and big lot in the heart of filing and across from Paramount. The entrance was a little hard to find but inside was clean, spacious and everything was well labeled (whether it was right or wrong). I'm sure if you work on the lot you have parking but since this was not a studio event we ubered which was smart. Great event and great lot! read more

Great place for screenings, attended one few days back. Very secluded, private and somewhat classy yet not pretentious. Parking is a mess, though. Windy garage, steep path, tight spaces. A special challenge is figuring out where the elevator is and the fact that you have to cross the street to the second building to get to the screening rooms. Otherwise great. Do not do business with their construction team they do not pay their bills. I did a job for them they damaged the materials when they were handling it and now wont pay their bill due to their own mistakes very dishonest group of people read more

Wow! An almost living, breathing link to the earliest days of Hollywood film-making. This 10-acre site went up in 1915, when there were probably more horses and cows in this section of LA than people. It is said this may be the worlds longest lasting, uninterupted film studio! Known at various times as the Clune and later California studios, it was also Famous Players, a man named Jesse Lasky later took that incarnation across the street and renamed it Paramount Pictures. This site was also Francis Ford Copolla's ill-fated Zoetrope. He's been doing a lot better in the No Cal wine biz! Today Raleigh is a series of high-tech screening rooms with 2K to 4K and 3D digital projection with Dolby surround sound. Post-production film and sound editing facilities are also available. Fancy screening rooms named after Chaplin, Fairbanks and Pickford, who once trod the silent cinema boards here, can be rented for special events. Catering, valet parking and even a red carpet for guests can be arranged. There is also a nice, open-to-the-public cafe. A neat, useful historic site, well worth both a visit, and serious use. read more

I chose to do a screening of my film in the Chaplin Theater because the price was the best in town. I didn't see the space ahead of time and was thrilled when I arrived and we tested the Blu-Ray. The sound and picture were fantastic. Additionally, it was so easy to set everything up and I could always get in touch with someone for questions. The night of the screening went without a hitch because Brent was fantastic. He is very friendly and knew his tech stuff. Great experience. read more

I have been to a dozen screenings at this studio and the theaters are beautiful. However, when I called to set up my own screening the customer service in post production was awful. They gave me a quote and a set of dates and everything was good. When I called back just 2 days later to confirm a reservation, they DENIED ever talking to me or quoting me. No apology. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. In addition my colleague who referred me to them was also very disappointed. read more

Another awesome review that I must write for Raleigh Studios. AB Weddings & Special Events had the honor to be the planner for ShockFest Film Festival on Jan 10th-11th, 2014. First of all to be working for an awesome Director/Producer such as Guil Claveria was an honor itself and I could of not asked for more. The fact that he has such great reputation and relationship with the Staff at this venue is a big deal. I have to say the security and one person that helped me out so much was Eric. I know securities can be pain but him and overall everyone there was on it. He was on top of things and knew what I wanted as a planner. To me small things mean a lot and it showed me how much they care about their clients satisfaction. Being there for two days I felt like it was my home, I knew my way around and I felt very comfortable. As an event planner and hosting charity events in various venues, if I don't get the right feel I will not book it. The staff was the reason everything went smoothly. Brent was on call whenever we needed anything or I needed something. One thing that I loved about him was that he never said no, his saying was I will make it happen, send them over here. He was sweet, helpful and made sure that Shockfest team was happy with the outcome of the event. Another person that made sure we were ok was Jason (Manager). One thing about him that I truly admired was that he made sure that all the set-up was done and ready to go. I recommend this studio to anyone for any special events. read more
