Came for a screening of "Hamnet" on a Saturday afternoon. Back parking lot was full, so a very cordial and professional security for parking directed us to the underground lot. Plenty of parking. We thought it was odd that we had to walk up the driveway to enter the theatre from the front stairs, but maybe another way was impacted by the recent, heavy rains. We selected center of row 3 and had a comfortable viewing experience. No problems with audio, as others have noted. Full stereo experience was obvious from some subtle BG ambient sound on the film. Afterwards, the line for the ladies loo was out the door. I think they had 6-8 stalls total. Some were already out of paper, but otherwise the ladies room was tidy. Came here for a film screening this past week and had a lovely experience! Parking was super easy in their underground lot and the parking attendants were so helpful in assisting me with finding a spot despite there being ample spots available. There was a wonderful reception in the lobby right outside the theater. They made great use of the space and even though it was small, they managed to fit a couple of bars and a table of food being sampled. They also had tables which made it easier to eat and drink. The theater itself was larger than I expected and the seats were nice and comfortable. We sat near the back but the sound quality was good enough that we were able to hear everything clearly, from the movie to the Q&A. The picture quality of the screen was also great and I felt fully immersed in the film. I cannot wait to attend another event here in the future! read more

Been here multiple times for SAG and IATSE screenings. Nice theatre. Big screen, but the seating is not the best. Tip: park on Hollywood for multi hour free parking as long it's on a weekend. It's tough to park on sunset or the neighborhood. Enjoy! :-) read more

Attended episodes 1 & 2 of "Colins From Accounts" season two! Where my friends and I met the writers/actors/producers: Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall. from the outside Harmony Gold Theater looks like something from the 1970s. Which is appealing since so much of Hollywood is turning into modern overpriced and empty condominiums. The seats inside of the Harmony Gold Theater were comfortable and the aisles are spacious. Great place to attend or have your own movie, short film and/or episodic screening. read more

The place is spacious and clean. The bathrooms are up to date and clean. The staff was awesome and very accommodating.

A nice little venue with one single theater screen, used only for special screenings either for the academy interview or conversation with the cast. This is my first event here, but I was amazed by their professionalism, being on time, provided parking, a light reception, and some insiders. I like the set up that had a stage above the audience so that people won't try to come up to the stars for autographs and such. Although this is for people in the industry, some random public paparazzi got in and try to pull a fast one, but everyone were nice in a professional manners, I would love to come back here again if another event invitation come up. read more

Sadly, the sound quality in this theater is horrific. It's tinny, thin, and non-immersive. I was there on 12.2.24, and when the screening began, the sound was immediately so disappointing that I wondered if the side and rear surrounds hadn't yet been turned on. I recently attended a screening of the movie Nyad followed by a Q&A with actor Annette Bening. As a SAG-Aftra member, I visit Harmony Gold quite frequently during awards season to attend screenings and receptions. It always comes through for me. They have free parking underneath the building (provided you arrive early), the staff is always nice and welcoming, the seats are quite comfortable, and the projection and sound are great. As a bonus, there are multiple places to eat within 3-4 blocks in each direction on Sunset which makes it easy to show up early, park, and grab a bite to eat before a screening. read more

Great screening room located on Sunset, easy to spot from the road, you shouldn't miss it! I have been going here on and off for years, starting with one of the first movies I worked on after my move to LA to friends screenings and various events, including an Emir Kusturica movie starring Monica Bellucci which she was there for! Out of all of my years in the business, I never once saw a film at Harmony Gold until now. Always having driven past, I'd see a consistent line outside the door and now, I was finally one of them. We had decent seats towards the front on the right hand side, but since it's an older theater, you are screwed if someone larger sits in front of you (which happened). The sound was pretty off though; it would become extremely loud during parts of the movie (where it should not have been) and sometimes it was as though the sound was coming from the back of the venue, to the front then the back again. It was just rather odd and something we had picked up on. Bathrooms were clean, and the staff we dealt with were nice. Parking was interesting; they do have some spaces below (enter/exit right on Sunset) and a back gated area, but be careful if you decide to park there; this is where talent gets picked up and between the possible mob/paps depending if there is a Q&A after the film, you also have to wait to get to your car and get the heck out of there due to the way it is set up. That being said, I'd recommend parking underneath. Glad I finally had a chance to visit, but there are definitely other venues (DGA for example is right down the street) that are a little more updated and better run. However for the history, visit Harmony Gold at least once if you get the opportunity. read more

What a wonderful evening!!! My friend and I went to a film competition in which we participated (she was the producer, I was the production designer and make up artist). The contest consisted in doing a short film with a time limit of 2 weeks. The place is big, comfortable seats, big screen, clean bathrooms, limited private parking lot, there was valet service as well. The lobby was very loud during the judge panel questions, but when the doors were close you could not hear the lobby noise inside the screening area. Great venue!!!!! read more

I attended the Prey/Predator screenings plus Q&A at the Harmony Gold Theater today. It was a nice experience. There was on-site parking available for guests, but I didn't drive. I got dropped off at the curbside loading area in front of the building to attend the event. The theater is nice. The seating is fine. The sound quality and picture quality during the screenings were good. The restrooms are nice and spacious. If anything, for an event that lasted several hours, I would have liked for concessions to be available for guests. Overall, I'd say I had a pleasant visit though. read more

Beautiful theater.... My son & I were lucky to attend a premier of Jet Lag the game season 7 ( tag Eur it) parking was free I just wished there were signs. This was the first time here I just turned at the light after the theater luckily the parking was on the left. This a very intimate but large theater. Awesome theater. The staff is super friendly and do a amazing job. The seats are new and super comfortable. The seats are first come first serve so get there early if you want good seats. No food or drink allowed except water. Parking underground or on side street is limited. We were lucky to be parked in guest spot but lots of people were looking for a long time. I usually see screenings here. I saw Joker here 2 weeks ago! Man, that was a good movie. The seats are not as modern as you would think and it is an older theater. But it's a screening theater! What do you expect, I guess? The parking lot can get full then you gotta look for parking in Hollywood which can be a nightmare. Pay attention to street signs. Special SCL screenings double feature of Science Fair followed by reception and ending the ending with Mary Poppins! Free parking on the lot behind the building or underground structure. Events were well organized, easy check in. The seating is as many mentioned... cramped and out dated. Almost claustrophobic, so if you do have the option, sit on the aisles or way on the back a couple rows allow for double the legroom - almost sounds like choosing premium extra charge seats on the plane, LOL! Super spacious stage though for Q&A panel afterwards. Bathrooms are cramped and tight. Nice lobby area to hang out tough. Would be nice if they get a good renovation sooner than later. I attended a screening of the documentary, Be Natural, directed by Pamela Green here. This was my first time at the Harmony Preview House and I was pretty impressed. The theater had ample seating and great quality sound and picture. My only gripe, as noted in another review, are the chairs. I am 5'4" and I found myself adjusting my seat every few minutes or so because I couldn't get comfortable. The seats are on the older side and made from cloth. The only perk was that the aisles were pretty wide so people were able to pass by with ease. Overall, it's a cute little venue for private events and I'd come back if invited. read more

Summary: I was here for a Syracuse alumni event Venue: the venue itself looks okay but definitely needs some remodeling done....this is LOS ANGELES after all!!! What does that mean? Beats me...but remodel it a bit...The chairs in the auditorium not the worst but not the most comfortable either. It does the job I guess. My wife and I sat down for about 2 hours. Outside the auditorium there is room for social gatherings and food stands. Parking: I don't think others got the memo but parking in the structure below the venue was absolutely free for the event. There was a sign that stated the parking lot is for employees only but after speaking to the attendant, I was told that I could park my car anywhere. Location: Good location and not that far from my home in the Valley. Conclusion: I will go back again if there is another function at this venue. read more

Lots of screenings held here of course, but this place has clearly seen better days. It's not terrible by any means. But it's not comfortable. The seats are old and very uncomfortable. On the night I was there for a screening, the AC wasn't working and it was terribly hot in the theater. Unlike some older theaters, there is a nice large stage for post-screening Q&A's and a decent sound/video system. I appreciate the many screening opportunities here for members of various entertainment organizations. But there are dozens of better, more modern, more comfortable screening locations in town. This one could do with some freshening up. read more

Good venue for screenings except some of the seats are broken, so you have to be careful. Park offsite if you go out after the show!! After the show I went to eat dinner next door and when I came back the underground garage was closed. I asked the security guard to open it for me and he ignored me for ten minutes and then told me to come back the next day at 5pm to get my car. That's it. He wouldn't explain anything or talk to me at all. He proceeded to ignore me for another 20 minutes and then closed everything and left. I had to take a $50 Lyft home that night and the next day back and was not thrilled. They were very rude and don't have great customer service. read more

Right off Sunset Blvd is this quaint theater auditorium where we screened the Great Hack. There's a small parking lot behind the theater so if need a space, you should arrive early. We stood in line to be admitted inside and were treated to a small popcorn and water. The auditorium was standard stadium seating so it wasn't anything particularly special. However the special guest was Representative Adam Schiff! read more

I came here for a screening and Q&A of American Hustle with the director and cast. The theatre is well maintained. I don't think they allow food and drink inside. The aisles are really small and there is only one set of bathrooms as far as I could tell. The screening I came for was well organized and after the Q&A some of the cast stayed and signed stuff or shook people's hands so you were allowed to approach the stage. They have underground parking that's free, though they only have some so if you don't come early enough you have to do street parking or etc. read more

I'm fortunate enough to have been invited to a screening of American Hustle at Harmony Gold. I've passed this place a thousand times but never knew what it was. Now I realize that it is a movie screening house. It was weird to watch a movie without any trailers or advertisements beforehand. The theater, while looking a bit old, is kept up well, clean and comfortable. It's not the latest and greatest theater experience, but it's private and a very large theater. There's a stage in front of the movie screen for the actors to sit and answer questions about the film. There's no concession stand for Raisinets or popcorn. I valet parked nearby, but then I realized that there is a parking lot behind and underneath the building. read more

Harmony Gold has limited parking so make sure you come early. Sometimes they block off the back parking lot too. Or park in the neighborhood but be very very careful reading the parking signs. Most need permits to park over 2 hours. Also, if you are here for a screening and it's raining, bring an umbrella because the line will be outside in the rain. This theater is pretty old but overall it's a good place. The seats are old but alright. Parking is free if you can get a spot. My advice, back up into a spot because when everyone is trying to leave, it's easier to just pull out. read more

I must say that the seats are uncomfortable... I am 5'3 with average body frame and didn't have enough room, so I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must be for someone even an inch taller than me. I couldn't get comfortable and had to shift my body weight from left to right and to the other side during the whole screening. I did notice that the venue offers a large stage for somewhat of small (well not too small) theater. It is kept well maintained, so no complaints except for the seats. read more

You won't forget that you're in one of the biggest cities for movie making in the world. Theaters like this scream LA in the same way as the Hollywood sign or a 3 hour 2 mile drive down Santa Monica Boulevard. Okay, more the former than the latter. This is definitely a small theater, but it feels spacious enough.There is not a bad seat in this dojo. You won't be able to buy a jumbo box of popcorn so eat before you arrive here. There's parking in the back so you can always microwave a bag of Jiffy Pop, shove some kernels into your pocket and eat them like a furtive mouse. I would never recommend sneaking those kernels into the theater so make sure and empty your pockets before you ascend the steps. read more

I was there recently for an event and the owner was rude and non caring. I got injured at the theater by a patron hitting me in the head with their 35 mm camera and the hit was hard enough I got a concussion. It was not done on purpose. I put ice on it immediately which I got for myself from a cooler in the lobby. I went to find the manager to file a report. She told me this was just a rental space and she didn't see me get hit and there was nothing she could do about it even though she was in the lobby when I went out there to get ice. Many people saw it happen and I brought her a witness. I was actually shocked at her attitude and coldness. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said she was it.She said her father owned the building and she was in charge. I ended up going to the hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion. So I wouldn't suggest renting this space, there are other rental theaters with kinder managers and better policies. read more

I've now seen two screenings here and the audio was lackluster both times. In fact, I really struggled to hear the dialogue in one of the films (and no, it wasn't Interstellar.) The seats aren't the comfiest and there's not a ton of leg room. It's not necessarily a terrible experience but given all of the options out here in LA, I will probably avoid seeing films here. read more

I'm very disappointed in the poor management of Harmony Gold. I organized a red carpet screening there last year and it was a big success. In fact, management-wise, I was very happy and gave them 5 stars on Yelp. Recently, I had some clients coming to town for one day to look at venues for an event and I tried a few times to reach Erin, the person in charge of booking the theater. She never responded. On the day my clients came into town, I called Erin again to see if we could come by. I finally reached her and she said she was busy with a couple events. I told her she wouldn't have to walk us around, since I'd used the theater before, I just wanted to bring my clients by to see it quickly - and told her I'd tried to schedule it with her in advance and never heard back from her. She responded by saying she thought there was a problem with our payment on the event we did last year and that's why she never responded. I thought was odd. If there was a problem, why was she just now telling me? So I brought my clients by anyway so we could at least peek in the windows. The receptionist signalled for us to come to the intercom and when I told her who I was, she said we couldn't look at the space until Erin heard back from their accounting department to see if we'd paid for our last event. She's saying this to me while I have clients with me! We didn't see the theater that day, since my clients had to get back to the airport - did I mention they were in town for ONE DAY to look at venues?! I later emailed Erin a copy of the check, proving we had paid for the venue. I never received a response of any kind from her - no apology, no explanation. I let her know how perplexed I was at the way she treated us and gave her plenty of time to respond. I even sent her another email to make sure she'd received the prior email and still no response. Even if there had been a problem with our payment and they were just now noticing it, she should have handled it better than that, or at least given us the benefit of the doubt. I feel bad leaving a bad review after we had such a good experience with them last year, but I feel that this is my only recourse. I'm just so disappointed in the way I'm being treated by Erin and I won't use that venue again. read more
