She was professional, engaging and genuinely enthusiastic about her job, something you rarely see in customer service (especially now). Extremely disappointed in the cake that I ordered from the Raleys bakery! I was excited to order a specialized cake for my daughter's baptism which was supposed to be like the professional cake pictured except in pink and purple instead of blue. The next picture is what I was given. I was floored when I opened the box. In the midst of all the preparation for the baptism and party the last thing I was expecting was to have issues with the cake. After voicing my disappointment in the cake I only received $10 off of the cost. I will likely never be ordering a cake from Raleys again. It was extremely unprofessional to offer a cake they clearly could not even come close to decorating. read more

We came here almost every week for about 5 years when we lived in the Central Valley. There are some very friendly folks working here, but there are also some who could care less. We loved the variety of brands they offered, and there are plenty of good deals in their clearance section week after week. They are always introducing new brands and keep their stocks current. Their meat/seafood selection is continually fresh. Their produce selection is alright. Sometimes I would see a bunch of rotten fruit just sitting there. We are now living in an area with a Vons, which does not even come close to the variety that Raley's offered. Even the aesthetics is more pleasing at Raley's. This store is bright, updated, and gives pretty great customer service. By the way, if you have an always hungry or antsy toddler or child, make sure you stop by the front customer service area and grab them a fruit before your shopping trip! :) Skip SaveMart and head down to Raley's across the street! read more

Raley's sells some food beyond or near expiration date!!! Yesterday I purchased some Jimmy Dean's low fat pork sausage. This morning I checked the expiration date.... JANUARY 31st! Today is February 14th. This is NOT an isolated incident. The store does not always check the expiration dates on the food they sell. I bought a can of chili there a few weeks ago, and discovered a few days later that it had expired a full month prior to the date I purchase it. There have been other times I almost placed the item in my basket until I saw the expiration date was either the next day or had passed it. Check the expiration date on EVERY food product BEFORE you place it in your shopping basket..... even canned products! By the way, Raley's DID refund the purchase on the sausage. read more

Great place to stop on the way to Yosemite. It's a pretty huge and well-stocked store. They have a nice bathroom. It's a good place to get snacks, plus they have a deli and decent sushi, and places to sit, and a coffee bar. Not a lot to complain about. read more

I ordered a vanilla latte at the Pete's coffee and picked it up off the counter and noticed how light it was! About a third of it was foam and the lady working watched me until I walked away.. I think she knowingly did it! Not going back to them because I didn't pay almost $5 for foam! Also, there wasn't any milk or cream out so I couldn't fill it to get my moneys worth. read more

We drive from Hilmar to shop here. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of allergy free foods for our family. I cannot say how many times they have ordered something for me. And they start carrying it once I've ordered it. With all of the food restrictions that our family has, Oakdale Raley's has been a blessing. This is one of several grocery stores in Oakdale. While some of the other stores offer more affordable prices on certain items, I continue to use this location as my primary store due to its great customer service. They also offer one of the better deli selections in town. Most of the staff is very knowledgable and willing to help when asked a question. Only downfall is they are resistant to make special orders for specific items. read more

Yesterday I was in a hurry to bring back lunch to work, I ordered a sandwich tray with a bowl of broccoli salad and the Deli/sandwich bar/ bakery was crazy. One gentlemen was helping me but wasn't certain where my order was and a lady from the Sandwich bar Shanate stepped up and knew right where my order was and got me in and out of Raleys. The customer service at the Oakdale Raleys just doesn't compare anywhere else, they go above and beyond every time I'm in the store. read more

They are on a main route between the Bay Area to Yosemite and the Sierras. If they shortchange you or keep one of your paid-for items and you don't notice it until you arrive home in heavy traffic two hours later, when you call them to get a refund they with great delight and emphasis demand you return to that store with your receipt and credit card if you want to ask for a refund. Maybe that whole scenario is part of why the store seems empty of customers most of the time. read more

I like Raley's, it's clean, close and convenient. Here's what I don't like: the bakery department employees are often borderline rude and act like they're doing you a favor. As in audible sighs and visible eye rolls when they have to leave the bakery counter to make a coffee. Seriously!! Hire a dedicated barista Raleys!! There is a far superior bakery in town, Moss Rose, but sometimes you just want convenience. Speaking of the employees, why oh why do they have a really sweet old lady bagging groceries and getting carts? It's often over 100 degrees and I just feel so sorry for her... she's very pleasant so here's my idea: have her help in the bakery and let one of those crabs get the carts! Come on Raleys, are you trying to get all your older employees to quit?? read more

Deli Department is the worst! Ordered 2 meat trays, two colossal shrimp trays, and 3 seafood spreads in bread bowls. Over $600.00 and ordered a week of in advance. The following day; a deli employee called stating he had a question on the spread/bread bowl order. When I called back the Manager didn't know what I was talking about. I explain I just received a voice mail... he finally handed the phone to another employee. As soon as I said "bread" she transferred me to the bakery. Of coarse I was transferred back to the deli. Thankfully the person that called me answered the phone. With a weeks notice, and knowing they were working on the order two days in advance, you'd think the order would be ready for pick up on time. Nope. Not only not ready, I had to run over to bakery for the rolls, another counter for the spreads in bread bowls. Finally the meat trays were ready. Get to my party...no mayo or mustard for the meat trays and rolls. Back to Save-mart I go!!!! read more

I was so disappointed in the cake I ordered from Raley's Bakery for my daughter's baby shower. We have always loved this bakery's cakes; the taste was fine, but we were unhappy with the decorating. We asked for roses. We got roses...I think 4 of them! I would have had a prettier cake from Costco. But the real kicker was they misspelled the name on the cake! When I placed the order he asked me 3 times how to spell it. I know he had it right...it was the person decorating the cake that didn't pay attention to the instructions. I won't waste my money ordering another decorated cake from this bakery! read more

Very clean grocery store, with a lot of variety and high quality produce and meat.

I absolutely love this store. The employees create such a lovely atmosphere. Yes, pricing is different than say cost less, but the quality of customer service is incredible. I live and work in Oakdale so I see these employees as customers in my own place of business and they are genuinely good people outside of being paid to be. Hats off to the hiring manager. The employees treat myself and my partner and our children like family, down to knowing when we camp and knowing what fruit the girls are going to pick from the basket and everything. Last month we had the young guy with the beard hold two dozen oysters for our anniversary and he picked the biggest and best for us, knowing thar oysters are our way of celebrating any special event. Today my daughter and I went in without a plan for dinner and the same nice guy put an extra markdown sticker on a pack of fresh crab legs so I could save a couple bucks and spoil my man. The managers are always on the floor sweating along with the stockers and the cashiers and baggers all are literally always pasted with smiles you can tell are from loving to be there. I could go on .. My daughters third birthday I was a single parent and I wanted to make it special. The Women in the bakery created the perfect pink and purple cow spot cake and didn't charge me for decorations because they used frosting instead of fondant. This place makes me feel comfortable in my shorts and boots with no makeup or in my fancies. They treat us all the same and I love it. read more
