As a senior citizen who wears glasses and not familiar with the store I had a real problem with a snarky cashier today. I do not as a rule buy organic produce so did not know the bags are color coded. I just grabbed the bag next to the vegetable I wanted . when I checked out the produce was twice the price of what I had picked out. I said this was wrong and he snapped at me that I had organic ..I said no the regular and he told me I had used an organic bag . He snarkly said I had to go to self check out to get it corrected. The vegetable I wanted was on sale so I am left to wonder if those bags were put there on purpose to fool people . I will sayVacaville has enough grocery stores that I do not need to go to Raleys. 10/9/18 Pharmacy Browsing at the aisle and hearing two of the employees that are working at the pharmacy and degrading another ethnicity is very offending. This is very unprofessional and being out loud about it should not be tolerated at work especially in customer service. Like what our elders tell us "keep things to yourself if you got nothing better to say". I don't use the pharmacy here at Raley's but after hearing what was said, I don't think I will. Code of business conduct and customer service should always be first. Yes I know we love to talk to our coworkers but keep where it is not heard by all. We have lived here for over 10 years, and the quality of this store has continued to go downhill. The prices have always been high, in spite of lack of organic and fresh produce options. But the customer service has suffered the most. The staff seem like they are miserable working there. They either ignore you completely, or are not very friendly. I appreciate going to a grocery store that feels warm and happy to help you. This ain't it. I usually only shop here when I need last minute ingredients, but from now on, I will just take the drive and either go to Trader Joe's or sprouts. read more

The hotel room I stayed in had no kitchen, so this is all about the Deli salads I got for lunch over a few days. I think my favourite would be to mix Chicken Fajita and Crunchy Vegetable, or Old Fashioned Chicken and Crunchy Vegetable. They all were pretty good, though. CHICKEN FAJITA SALAD: Very well seasoned, so it feels filling though there are no carbs. LOADED POTATO SALAD: With bacon and finely grated cheese. Good, but feels heavy after a while. CRUNCHY VEGETABLE SALAD: Broccoli stalks, carrots, sunflower seeds. I really liked where this was going, but, unfortunately, cranberries AND raisins made it too sweet after a few bites. MOZZARELLA CAPRESE SALAD: The mozzarella is not the shredded kind, but the bar-shaped kind, sliced. Pretty good. ANTIPASTO SALAD: I think it was good, but there were two different-coloured salami, and we weren't sure if it was a different type, or the brown kind had gone bad, so we picked those out. OLD FASHIONED CHICKEN SALAD: The regular light mayonnaise-y kind. Chicken was a bit dry, but that's to be expected. MANDARIN CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD: I really liked how Ginger and Green Onion was what made this salad Asian. Sometimes, American "Asian" stuff just means it has a sweet sauce. CLUB MEDITERRANEAN SALAD: Shell pasta and pesto went well together. Not much else, though. ARTICHOKE SALAD: Unfortunately, what I remember most about this salad is spiral pasta in oil. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I called Raley's at on a Thursday (today) at 4:50pm. I asked the woman who answered the phone "what is the maximum cash back limit" & she specially said "max cash back is $200 but starting on the 19th the amount will be lowered to $100". At about 6pm, I went into Raley's. Madeline was the cashier. I bought gum & told her I needed cash back. I entered "$200.00" on the pin pad, however an error message came back saying "invalid amount". I informed Madeline that I called an hour ago & confirmed with a staff member over the phone that the max amount was $200. Another male employee at the bagging area suggested to Madeline that maybe be do two separate transactions. Yet Madeline insisted that she calls a manager. While we were waiting for a manager to call back, I explained to Madeline the reason why I needed the max cash; my daughter & I were getting manicures & pedicures at the nail salon in the same shopping center & their card machine & ATM was down because their internet was down. Hence the reason I called Raley's an hour earlier. I expressed that I really need to get the max cash back that I was told I could get initially when I called. A manager finally calls back & Madeline, without explaining my situation to the manager, hangs up & immediately tells me that she can only do $100. I ask again if we can at least then try do two separate transactions & she says "our system won't let you if it's the same card" I ask to speak to a manager. James walks over, yet when I try to explain to him why I need the max cash I was told I can get, he completely brushes me off, ignores me & tells me "it's $100, you can use Wells Fargo for the rest" then walks away to open a lane & starts ringing up another customer. WOW I ask Madeline again to call another manager & she makes another call. Madeline then instructed me try to enter $200 cash back & waits for an override. It doesn't work so we retried a few more times. I suggested to do two separate transactions. The first transaction went through, $100.00 cash back with gum. Perfect. We proceed doing a second transaction, this time I purchase a plastic bag for .10 cents PLUS another $100 cash back with the SAME CARD. It processed just fine & went through. Interesting. Overall, Madeline & James provided the WORST service. There was no issue to be resolved, they simply could have done cash back in two transactions & spared me from the embarrassment. Raleys, if I was told when I first called that max cash was $100, then I would have planned out differently. Please teach certain staff members how to treat their customers with proper courtesy. read more

I've been going to this Raley's for 10 years. I used to love it. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill. Recently, I had to return packs of meat on two different occassions because they were turning rancid even though they were not past the sell by date. That worries me, I hate thinking I may have served that to my family. I've also bought various other items only to find they were either expired or expiring the next day. This last time I had to bring the rancid meat back, I stood by the self-checkout cashier to let them know and they would NOT acknowledge me. I stood there so long, another Raley's staff came by to ask me to MOVE out of the way - not to ask if I had been helped, not to ask if I needed anything - but to move! I'm SO disappointed in this store. I was STUNNED! It looks as though they have a lot of staff turnover and have not properly trained all of them in basic customer service skills or food handling. There are still a handful of rock star employees there, it's just not enough to make up for how much things have declined. We were told this store is not union, maybe that makes it difficult to come by quality staff that will stick around? I know the other Raley's I go to seem to be in much better condition with a nicer atmosphere. read more

I had quite an unpleasant experience at the Raley's deli on Wednesday, the 11th. Rude, heavy set man "helped" me when I ordered a ham sandwich. He was openly irritated when I asked a question about the bread. He did not engage with me at all while I waited for the sandwich. He spent the entire time talking to a co worker who was working next to him. The sandwich was overpriced and the ham salty. Will not get another sandwich there. read more

Raley's - Long lines... Death... Apathy... - Grocery Near Me - Vacaville, California

Don't get me wrong. The groceries are OK and it's close to my house. But I'm not setting foot in this place again until we have a genuine Fauci-approved vaccine or they seriously revamp their COVID protection measures. First of all, they have two entrances, but they insist that everyone enter and exit through just one of them, making it nearly impossible to socially distance. Why? It makes no sense. Other stores have one way aisles to maintain social distance. Raley's? Didn't bother with that simple measure, so it's just one long game of dodge and weave to shop there. Worst of all, the staff don't always keep their distance from customers and I saw two staff people wearing one-layer cloth masks that didn't even cover their noses, which is the same as not wearing a mask at all. One young man seemed stunned when I told him he was wearing his "mask" incorrectly. Clearly nobody from management had bothered to tell him. I won't say his name because it's not his fault. Management has to answer for this. I've left this store feeling uncomfortable many times over the years for various reasons. I've never bothered to make an issue out of it. But now it's more than discomfort. It's a safety issue. There are much better places to shop in Vacaville, stores where the safety of staff and customers is taken seriously. read more

This is mainly for the bakery department. I usually order my my cakes from here and haven't had any problems, however, these past two times I was not impressed. The lady who took my order for the cake wasn't too pleasant. This didn't bother me too much. Just a "what do you want" kind of attitude, we all have our days I guess. I just wanted my cake ordered. When I picked up my cake, I noticed right away that the image wasn't centered. I didn't feel that me saying anything wouldn't get me a new cake instantly, so I left it at that. I'm assuming they have new cake decorators back there that aren't properly trained? You can see the picture isn't centered, and the writing of his name isn't aligned. The frosting isn't smooth and you can see the cake crumbs within the frosting as well. It's too bad, I loved ordering my cakes here, but I am probably going to have to go somewhere else :( read more

Pharmacy: Been here twice in the last 3 weeks as I was thinking of switching to this pharmacy from Walmart. Haha! NOPE. In 3 weeks, 2 visits, BOTH visits have been a disaster along with a cold attitude like it's my fault they screwed up. Excuse me? It doesn't seem to matter how far in advance you drop off or have your doc fax over your script. YOU. WILL. WAIT. First time: they lost it. WHAT??? Yep. Today they didn't know how to bill it so they DIDN'T FILL IT for the 3 days I waited. How about calling me??? They have my private insurance on file AND my WC claim info so either way they would have been covered. But if in doubt, CALL. I have an appointment in 30 minutes in Fairfield and had something else to do beforehand. But no, my life plans are irrelevant to this place. So I sit and wait. AGAIN. Back again and once AGAIN I dropped off my script over 2 weeks in advance. They don't have it. They drop it into a black hole and wait for you to show up and WAIT while they try to resolve it. Like our lives are irrelevant. HOW ABOUT CALLING TO RESOLVE IT TWO WEEKS AGO????? The attitudes are so casual and the front counter tech is so hard to understand with her broken "English". People keep asking her to repeat herself. WTH??? I'm in hell right now. I have to be in bed in 3 hours for work again. This hard chair is exactly where I wanted to spend my limited time off. K*11 me. I love my neighborhood Raleys ! I can go there, visit Audrie at the bank, ask Robert to help me pick the best of a produce I'm not great at picking out, go see Lenore, Rodney, Rachel in Pharmacy, and my son can visit... Then beg me for seafood, before we pay and go home. With help loading the car, from any of the super sweet young ladies who bag. I always have EVERYTHING done on my list, my kids have a cookie from the bakery, and NO ONE minds my youngest ( whose 6yo and on the spectrum) trying to get a job there. The bank usually helps with an extra lollipop for both, that they get AFTER reaching the car. DEFINATELY a store to go to and pay at the "kid friendly-no candy) line tops it! I picked out several bunches of flowers as a gift for a special friend and when I went to the counter the cashier recommended I have them bundled by Janet. After I paid for them, my cashier (sorry, I forgot her name) took them to Janet and, while I got coffee, she created this lovely bouquet! I LOVED what she did and so did the recipient of the gift! Not only have I gotten feta cheese from here recently that is bad (expiration date was April 2019), but this morning I go in for some things for my cold and for breakfast and I get accused of having a fake bill. Now, the bill look dirty not fake (I've worked customer service for 10 years). I will now be taking my business elsewhere. I had to go find someone to help me with their self service machine that was giving me nothing but trouble. The lady I asked to help me, because there was no one around to ask, was irritated that I even asked, then told me my $5 looked fake. I liked going here because you get money back every quarter and there's a couple workers that are pretty awesome there. But if you're customer service is shit, I'm not going to waste my time or money here. read more

This is an on going thing with Raley's.... customers think that when the checker is done checking your groceries, that that's the cue for the other person in line to get right up in your personal space while you're in the middle of handling a money transaction. I told this elderly lady, who decided to scooch in really close to me while I was doing my money transaction, to please back up I'm not finished and I'm in the middle of a money transaction. And she's all like. How are you? I said again, can you please back up I'm in the middle of a money transaction and you're too close and in my personal space. And she's all like "oh." But doesn't back up! And none of the Raley's baggers nor checker bothered to step in and help me get the lady to back up! There should be a stop and wait your turn sign for costumers to wait their turn when there's a money transaction going on. If I was a secret shopper, the Alamo Dr. store would get a low score, because the checker didn't intervene and tell the lady to back up and move her line backwards. Nor did she call for the customer service manager to have that lady back up and move the line backwards. The checker and both baggers just stood there and watched and made it seem like I was the one at fault, but since when was it ok for people in line to walk up on you handling a money transaction? If you go to the bank, there's a stop and wait sign so that customers in line don't walk up on someone giving their pin to a bank teller, so the same amount of logic would apply for any type of money transaction. I wouldn't expect that much help from the way Raley's runs their staff nowadays. Gone are the days when you had senior clerks hold the position of checker for many many years. Instead, their jobs are replaced by lower paid part time working college kids that are using Raley's as a first time job, and not a career position. They don't take their jobs that seriously, and neither does Raley's as a whole, because of the way these people are trained are not like how Raley's staff were trained at least 10 years ago when they were starting to phase out of senior clerks. read more

I really like this store but it's the pharmacy that really stands out. I've been using it for a few years and by now they know me and are familiar with my prescriptions and that is very important to me. They are always helpful and Mark the pharmacist is awesome. He gets things done. And he's been such a Godsend to us over the last few years, when we have any kind of problem, he'll find a way to help. I like the fact that I always deal with the same people. The last time I turned a prescription in to a technician I'd never seen before, there was a problem. But beside that, this is my pharmacy. I don't do my big shopping trips here, they are a little more expensive than Winco or Wal Mart. But I love this store, it's got such a nice atmosphere and everyone is super friendly and helpful. I got my sons 1st birthday cake there and they did a great job. read more

Raley's is one of my favorite grocery stores. The produce is fresh and the bakery is pretty good. I ordered a customized cake for a co-worker. The person taking my order was very accommodating and asked me what type of cake, frosting, filling, and writing would be included in the cake. Our cake was marbled (white cake with chocolate swirls), chocolate frosting, and a strawberry filling. Raley's even gave wedding bell decorations to place on the cake. I would highly recommend the fruit tart!! It's so yummy and not sweet! The fruit tart has a cream filling with strawberry, blueberry, kiwi, and other fruits as the topping. Surrounding the shell of the tart is lady fingers. Delicious! read more

I like Raley's mainly for their deli section to get a sandwich. My BF and I go here a lot to get our lunch, a mega sandwich and some chicken strips. Their meats are always fresh and they have all the goodies we like to put into our sandwiches. The deli workers are also nice and never make a dull lunch for us. We also grocery shop here from time to time. They are a bit pricey, but if ever I need anything from here, they have what I need. I would highly recommend this place for a great sandwich lunch. =) read more

Raley's seems to be on the pricier side of grocery stores, but it's one of my favorite places to come if I want a quick-but-cute gift, floral arrangement, or special dessert. I LOVE that they are open super early, which has saved my butt more than once when I had to run in to buy a bakery treat to share at work (I'm not the best at planning ahead, and sometimes I'm just plain impulsive, haha!) They make the most gorgeous and delicious cakes ever! My favorites are the tiramisu cake and the strawberry kiss (strawberry mousse with chocolate drizzles and a chocolate covered strawberry on top, of course!). I've also run in spur-of-the-moment for their artisan breads when I'm making pasta for dinner. It kicks a regular spaghetti dinner up a notch! They always offer to take your groceries out to your car--without tips! And their employees are always very helpful when you can't find what you're looking for. read more

I entered this Raley's today to find all of the employees wearing a face covering. All except one!! This particular employee was engaged in a conversation with another co-worker(who was wearing a face covering) about how sick he was and how he had taken of a number of over the counter cold and flu medicines to help with the sickness. In our current situation with COVID-19. I think anyone would find this disturbing. Well, I immediately left the store to shop elsewhere. If you are sick and employed in places such as this.
