First, let me say that I will be taking my grocery business elsewhere. I went shopping today and bought two bags of groceries and a box of sparkling water. I had three packages of meat and four or five produce items. There was hardly anyone in the store and NO ONE in the self check out area. I did not notice the 15 item sign on the kiosk I chose. The machine did not like that I had my own bags and kept stopping for an attendant. The lady who came over stated I was having trouble because I had chose the 15 item register. There was still NO ONE in the self check area. The machine kept saying "item not recognized" when I tried using the scan code on the fruit items. She then came over again and said their machines rely on weight and that I HAD to put in the four digit code and then get the item on the scale before the thing said not recognized again. I said that's ridiculous, they should hire me if I have to ring in the codes. She said that's why she SHOPS AT WALMART! For real, that's what she said. I then tried to put in the four digit code for the two apples I had and the machine took the weight right away, before i could set both down. It said $2.03 so I assumed that was for two and I put them in my bag. Again, the stupid screen said something is wrong. She cleared it and rang up for me-$4.06 for two apples!!! She did not offer to help in any way except to show me how to "properly use their machines". I've shopped at Lucky's previously and not had this problem. She really seemed annoyed that I WAS causing all this work for her. I also noticed that Lucky's prices seem way more than my last few shopping trips to Walmart and Winco. Hate for that big store to go empty, but their prices, customer service and stupid machines just sent me elsewhere. read more

Since I was in the area, I decided to stop by this Lucky's to do some grocery shopping before heading home. Arriving in the middle of the day on a Thursday, the inside of the store was virtually dead with minimal customers. This worked out well for me since I was able to grab what I needed and checkout without much wait. The shelves and grocery sections were well stocked, and all the fruits and veggies were pretty fresh. The parking lot of this complex is pretty large, so parking is also not an issue. I did have to use the restroom before leaving, which required waiting for an employee to walk to the back of the store to open the door for me. It was a code lock so not sure the reason for the huge secrecy when they could have just verbally provided the code instead. read more

Well, I have tried to use Lucky as my neighborhood grocery store, however since the Manager passed away it has gone downhill fast. The employees that were nice, except like one, are gone. The employees seem not to be happy to be there. And when I do speak to staff--I never know if I am gonna barely polite or really no real customer-first response. It was so just not okay today. The carts are locking up before one is able to even get to their vehicle to unload. And the carts are not seeming to be maintained as they once were. Items are out of date and marked incorrectly with their prices. And even sale items are mismarked; so that just wastes ones time when a trip to the neighborhood market needs to be quick and at least a little friendly. No one seems to recognize anyone anymore. We are just no-faces customers it seems. Sad really. And ever since the pharmacy was suddenly done away with... well who wants to go here with the current manner of customer service, not me. :/ read more

Love this store. Love their produce. Love their bakery. Love their deli. Love the employees. They have the best meat. Today I brought home fried chicken from their deli. It's the best takeout fried chicken I've ever had. The pieces are decent sized. The skin was crispy and delicious the meat was juicy, flavorful and still hot after driving home and putting a couple of bags groceries away. It was cooked all the way to the bone and not bloody as some of the takeout I've gotten has been. read more

Terrible service. They fight with me about a price. So the guy takes five minutes to go confirm. Comes back and says it's the price he says it is. Digital coupon. I said the coupon is on your app. I show the lady. She won't do it. Calls the manager. After 10 minutes I gave up and left. Manager walks out and doesn't give a you know what when I said I'll buy elsewhere. Just walks away. Really quality service. One star isn't enough for this place. I don't live too far from this Lucky location. I pass it all the time and never stopped by. I made a quick stop before I headed home. It was pretty dead inside inside the store. Not many customers. Which was fine with me, I wanted to shop, pay, and head home ASAP! The prices are decent. There are a few items I needed that actually were either on some sort of sale, manager special, or had a coupon. I was there around 6:45pm on a Saturday... there was no one at the seafood counter. The glass case was completely cleaned out, except two large mounds of ice. I really wanted some salmon! :( I didn't go in all the aisles, but, the ones I did were stocked from what I can tell. The produce section is kind of small and limited with the selection. The only cashier working was really nice and bagged up most of my things in my reusable bag. I appreciate ya sis!! The "digital coupons" are an excuse to overcharge. Use caution when using them and double check your receipt. Even then, it is difficult to understand what they are really charging you. Often the "digital coupon" is in such small print that it is very difficult to detect and easy to overlook. I wonder how many seniors really catch that the system is VERY flawed, or intentionally vague. I shop there carefully and still get burned. $3 and change this time, not worth going back and complaining. read more

Was in this store today. What a nightmare!! Needed some help finding an item, went to an open register where I was ignored for quite some time while 3 employees chatted away, When I was done shopping, the line was long. Went to the self checkout. 2 machines out of 4 not working!! One was occupied by an older lady that clearly needed some help. The attendant helped her for a few minutes then just walked away!! The cashier next to the self checkout was now ringing up customers and bagging the goods, which slowed the line down immensely, There prices are higher than most and this is what they want to call customer service. When you're in customer service, maybe start serving your customers. Literally 3 or 4 workers in the grocery store, not one of them can come to self checkout and assist me. They just walk by and ignore you, then when you say excuse me ma'am, can I get some assistance here they completely ignore you. Then you have to physically go to them and ask for assistance, and they get all attitude with you. DO BETTER LADY!!! read more

Made the run up the 'hill' from Nugget to this Lucky to get cream...which the other store said they were out of...? This grocery store looks like it's a less expensive place to get food items. Think about that. Not the greatest way to describe a place. Looked old as well in there. Maybe a little dirty too. Pharmacy looked like a cartoon. As I said, this Grocery Store is another one of my To-go shops. I was here a couple days ago and I've seen a couple small changes here and there. I like how neat and organized the products are on the shelfs, produce is neatly stacked together making the colors vibrant. I also just want to say that it's good to see the Employees wearing a mask, disinfecting the carts and cash registers. I came in here trying to fund my luck of finding Vegan eggs, and of course I always assume there would be none, and to my surprise as I got to the section with eggs, I found this bottle (looked like mustard). I was relieved to find and see that says Plant based egg, and I knew I just had to buy it cause one I have never tried this brand and two there was only one left on the shelf. I have not tried the egg yet, but so far I've had 2 of my Vegetarian and Vegan friends tell me that it's a pretty good brand to try. Overall I am glad that I had gone here and found it! read more

Went to Lucky's in Vacaville to pick up 16 pieces of Fried Chicken. I love Lucky's Fried Chicken and thought it would be a good addition to a picnic we were attending. I normally go to Lucky's in the Bay Area and never had an issue! Boy we were so disappointed. When we approached the counter the clerk said " we just cooked the chicken!" At the picnic we opened the bag and placed it in a serving dish and was so I embarrassed!!!! The chicken was not cooked thoroughly. It was a greasy and disgusting mess! We would have taken it back. However, everyone was there and ready to eat. Good thing there were other dishes to enjoy!! Never again will we buy fried chicken from this deli. In fact I would not purchase anything from this deli. I looked at the salads and they looked a little suspect too. Perhaps a carryover from the day before? When I think about that chicken I get sick all over again. Lucky's you need to do better. I have tried several home delivery and have found Luckies to be the most efficient and responsive. The iPhone app is easy to navigate. I especially like the flawless ability to control replacement products. The mechanism includes a way to make a detailed note as to what you would like to purchase. When the purchase is delivered there are less surprises as to items not available and replacements. I was aware up front when an item was replaced or not available. I have used this services several times and each time received same day delivery! In one case I received it in 2 hours. Which is an awesome feat during this pandemic rush and demand for service. I received text as they shopped and delivered. They left the items on my doorstep and rang door bell as requested - social distancing at its best!! So far this is my favorite go to home delivery!!! I must say in the last few months this store has greatly improved regarding supply and displaying of food items. A couple weeks ago I went to buy some frozen veggies and had never seen a better organized and displayed freezer. And today, I went to buy a sandwich (Italian) wrap and couldn't believe how fresh it was. The Deli also had fresh Turkey and roast beef rolls also. This store is without question the worst grocery store anywhere. Unfortunately for me........it's the only one close to my house. There is only one store north of the freeway. And this one is it !! The clerks aren't particularly friendly.......which isn't very good since the self check out equipment doesn't work and you wind up having to wait for someone to check you out any way. The store also isn't particularly clean or very well stocked. If you have the time......drive across town and go to another store. This review is specifically regarding the awesome young man and team member, Joey! A week ago I arrived at Lucky's intent on getting a Christmas tree. In the pouring rain. I am the absolute pain in the ass customer you wish had just stayed home because, really? You want to get a tree in the rain? It was dark and disgusting outside, the wind was crazy, and the rain was hammering down in the bitter cold. BUT! Joey was nothing but smiles and upbeat about coming outside in this hurricane weather. He climbed around the lot with me as most the trees had blown over, and helped me pick out the perfect one! The entire time he was nothing but kind and helpful! Truly an asset to his team and a shining example of outstanding customer service! Thanks again, Joey! P.S. This man deserves a raise! And maybe a plaque. To be honest, Lucky is disgusting. The smell when you enter is of cat food and fish. They're bakery looks like everything is frozen, then thawed out. Flies are all over their meat department and inside the cold case. read more

This store is less expensive than Nugget and Safeway which probably why it doesn't look as nice as the other stores. Sometimes their produce is not the best but look at it before you buy. The reason there's a lock on the bathroom is because homeless people were using it as their home bathroom. Now when you go in it is clean. Went there this morning through the self checkout. Had issues. Looked around and no one was monitoring and only the end check stand open. I was unable to get the checker attention so I went in front of the stand and asked the clerk who was monitoring the self checkout. Surprise !!! Just one checker up front to handle the checkout stand and the self checkout also. She also look annoyed and grumpy. Lucky needs to work on their customer service. 2nd time going to this store to buy crab when it's on sale. The first time we were told they were out but saw a couple go up after us and picked up orders. My review is for the bakery department. I waited until the very last minute to order 2 cakes for my kids birthday party. Went in the night before i needed the caked and Felipe was so very super helpful. Helped me pick out cakes and when i showed him a Chewbacca cake I found online that I really wanted he contacted the decorator (who was off at the time) and she immediately responded. Went in the next day to pick up my cakes and i love them. Plus, the decorator was so happy to have made the Chewbacca cake for me. Cakes were as cute as they were delicious. So I went to this Lucky's at 4pm today to get a cake for our 18 year old exchange student that was celebrating his birthday so I picked out a cake and wanted to get his name on it after waiting for about 10 minutes I finally went and had a bakery person paged I was then told the bakery person was on break for an hour. The deli person did come over a started helping me. Although she tried to write the she decided not to and paged a person that could. In all I was able to get the cake. The only reason i am giving a 2 star is because of the wonderful customer service i received from Tammi. She is always so friendly and willing to help. Ive been a customer at this store for over 25 years. I have watched the service decline more and more since the self checkout came in. You have your employees running around with their heads cut off trying to accommodate self checkout and their register...you cut jobs to save your business money and the customers have suffered. Management doesnt seem to really care...ive mentioned it a few times with a shoulder shrug response. Your night crew has it even worse...tonight i watched an employee call for another employee to come to the register and walk off leaving the register unoccupied when i left he was outside smoking. To be honest i get better savings at winco and equal customer service. Get with it or you will lose another customer. read more

This has to be the worst grocery store on the face of the earth, and I will no longer be a customer, I'm also requesting that my family not shop here because I do not want my money going to this place. Where to begin? I loathed going here but it is open until midnight, so sometimes I don't have a choice. Honestly, the hours and the location in Vacaville, where there are no other grocery stores nearby, have to be ONLY reasons to go here and the ONLY reasons they are still in business. There's almost never more than one register open, usually staffed by some older lady that hates the customer about as much as she hates her job, which is a lot. As a wine drinker this is a curse because I can no longer use the self checkout and have to stand behind people buying $200 worth of stuff as the cashier rings them up so slowly that I've grown a beard from a clean face when I walked in. They never open a second register and it takes FOREVER for them to move the line forward. The final straw was tonight when I asked a manager to open one of those secure cabinets that stores certain items. He asks his worker to go grab the key and the guy never returns, just leaves me there waiting like an idiot. Now, I'm sure that he MEANT to come back but could not find the key, but that is another example of how poorly run this place is. The manager was buying snacks as I was checking out and I mentioned that the worker never came back and he basically laughed it off, I felt like screaming. You're a MANAGER, how about you MANAGE? If you are an upper manager or an owner reading this you should fire everybody, your grocery store IS NOT being well run. The staff is rude and incompetent, and it takes so long to buy anything here I will never return unless I hear things have changed. Stores like Nugget Market and to a lesser extent Raley's are what a grocery store should be - fast, professional, not a giant headache filled with rude and incompetent staff. read more

I only gave two stars because I have to go here a lot as it's the most convenient supermarket to my house and I've grown to like some of the cashiers and a couple of other folks in different departments. That's where the "positive" comments end. This place is horrible from the second you drive into the parking lot and have to pass a guy with no eye balls smoking weed and puking, peeing and lying on the sidewalk. I've seen so much police activity here i'm embarrassed my out of town friends will see it, but I guess that's what you should expect from this shopping center. It's replete with seedy stores like a head shop, check cashing center, a gold buying shop, cell phone store, and many shuddered businesses like an old Hollywood Video which has been closed for years. The meat section manages to get worse every year with less and less selection. They even reduced the fresh fish section and replaced most of it with frozen bags of fish. Beef selection is horrible. Produce is over priced and the alcohol prices are steep compared to CVS or even the liquor store. I like the pharmacy and the folks who work there and the canned aisles have decent selection as does the deli. Forget the "bakery". Weak selection. I actually saw someone run in on Mother's Day and steal two cakes. Same with the booze section. I've seen bottles getting run out of the store on several occasions. They rarely have more than one checkstand open and I think they killed the "3 is a crowd" policy as I've seen 12, not kidding, not being considered a crowd and backed all the way down the aisle. If you live on the north side of town put in the extra distance and go to WinCo. WinCo is even more gross, but the prices are like half that of Lucky for the same stuff. read more

Just the worst. My work uses the bank located inside the store. The store is often dirty, the lines are long and the check out clerks are so slow. Everytime. Everytime. Always. I will never shop here again as a result. It's maddening when you see 3 employees standing around when there's just one lane open for check-out. Granted those employees are not all clerks, but that speaks to staffing. Clearly their priorities are not aligned with a speedy process. Maybe it's intentional. Larry the store manager is fantastic! He gives outstanding customer service. I had an issue, that he corrected immediately for me. Come to find out it was my fault for not reading the sign correctly. When I brought to his attention he waved it off, saying we all make mistakes. I love this store! read more

Location and gas savings are a part of the reason I shop here. The staff of great and always help me out with whatever I need. They are very consistent and never out of product which is great and they always have some kind of special going on which definitely help out the wallet. It is nice to have a local market where everyone knows your face and gives you local service from a chain store. read more
