Our son is a freshman at Miami University and found out that he'll need a suit in two weeks for a job fair. We've used the store in Columbus many times with great results, so we thought this store would be our best option in the area. This was a completely different experience. The woman helping us didn't take any measurements, just asked what sizes our son normally wears. We eventually had to grab sizes we thought might work and he tried them on without any guidance on fit. The length he needed in a jacket wasn't available to try on so she told us what thought would fit best. She only agreed to measure him instead of eyeballing it when we insisted. There was an older lady working who seemed to be observing our interaction. I was hoping she might have more experience and jump in with some help. No such luck. I honestly wish we had driven the extra five hours back and forth to bring my son home to the Columbus area.

My quest for a suit/suit coat for a wedding took me from one end of the men's clothing spectrum to the other. My first stop at another store had me trying on a fantastic sports coat that I later realized was priced at $1,200. I politely excused myself and headed for the other end of the spectrum. The other end didn't work for me either. When I went to this Jos A Banks store to get my coat tailored I looked at the rack in my size and knew I needed to bring my fashion consultant (wife) back to take a look. Between yesterday and today we spent about 4 hours in the store updating my aged wardrobe. Several coats, shirts, ties, and slacks later I'm very satisfied. I was also lucky enough to drop into a sale and find several coats on clearance that fit perfectly. And I have to admit that were it not for the sale I would have probably stopped with the one coat, slacks and shirt and made it work with one of my old ties. Joseph Banks happened to be running a promotion of "buy one, get one free" pants, so I called my dad (who is the store's biggest fan) and he came running down to meet us and get a good deal. The employee that helped us grabbed my boyfriend's sports coat and started pairing it with different pants until he had found the optimum pair. Unfortunately, the slacks that looked stunning with the jacket were not "ready-to-wear," they needed to be hemmed. We asked if there was any chance they could be hemmed before the store closed that evening but the employee told us the tailor was leaving as we spoke. He stopped us and ran to the back and five minutes later returned and said "go put them on so we can measure, they'll be done in less than an hour." Great! 45 minutes later we were called back to the store and my dad and boyfriend went in on an order together and got two pairs of nice dress slacks for $50 each! Not a bad deal at all. Great service and great clothing, I bought a cool pink and navy striped tie for my boyfriend while we were there.

Not sure why my shopping habits are like this for this store..but they are. They often run really good sales and their clearance area has some really good deals too. Their regular priced merchandise can be a bit pricey for what you get. Overall the clothing here is pretty well put together and durable. I still wear sweaters I bought from Old Navy, no joke, 15 to 20 years ago. The stuff lasts for the most part..tho they're really kind of "in the moment" fashion-wise so a lot of their older stuff become outdated pretty quickly. This location has always been alright. They have kept it pretty clean and organized overall. The staff is usually nice and helpful..not always but usually. This past weekend was their annual $1 flip-flop sale and the place was kinda crazy. I've been needing a new bike and could kick myself for not getting it last year, because this year is quarantine and there are no bikes ANYWHERE! (I live in Indianapolis, IN) the bike 2 bikes I was interested in were not avails in store or online within a 100 mile radius from me. I called this location randomly after seeing it on a list of Ohio stores. I got on the phone with Alec and explained my situation. After 3 purchases saying bikes were available here with immediate cancellations/ refunds for "out of inventory" (even though there was inventory to buy lol) he got the reason I was calling to get some help over the phone. When I say this guy went above and beyond, he REALLY went above and beyond. He confirmed that they had the bike I was looking for at their location, but it wasn't the right size frame. He called I think it ended up being 3 different surrounding locations that he knew of that were between him and me. We ended up finding my size at Miamisburg OH and it was already put together (omg yes!). I'm not familiar with this location at all prior and I didn't even purchase the bike from this store, but I wanted it to be known that this location fosters great customer service!
