We were looking for a nice, non-chain, dinner near Camby and decided to check out Ralph and Ava's due to their glowing Yelp/Google reviews. We visited on a Saturday night toward the tail end of dinner. We were greeted by a smiling hostess immediately on entering and opted to sit at the bar to enjoy some beers on draft. They had a nice selection of taps, and also bottles and cans. They also had a full bar and a number of signature cocktails. Our server at the bar was attentive and kept our glasses full. For dinner, we don't usually get appetizers, but we read so many good reviews of the Crab Rangoon Dip that we had to try it. It was excellent - a generous portion of cheesy dip with real crab, drizzled with a sweet and spicy chili sauce and plenty of fried wonton chips. Would be enough to share with 4 people, but the two of us had no problem finishing it. For dinner, I had the buffalo chicken wrap with house made chips. The wrap was a good sized portion and I had enough for lunch leftovers the following day. I appreciated that they used a spring mix blend instead of iceberg lettuce. Following our dinner, we mentioned our meal to friends and family who live in the area, and all of them said they had heard great things about the restaurant. The word is this place has been renovated. I can confirm the dining room is completely different now with a bar that is almost the full length of the room once you get past the staircase. There are many tables alongside the wall. Today, Monday, at lunch, every table was occupied except for the big table in front that seats six or more. I sat at the bar and service was instantaneous. My napkin was linen! I love that. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with chips. The sandwich came with provolone cheese, sun dried tomato, garlic aioli, and fresh basil on brioche. I held the bacon jam. The sandwich was delicious. The chips were good but seemed a tad overcooked to me. Street parking was available for me across the intersection next to the new vacant corner lot where the tornado wiped out the old jewelry store. read more

Nikita was our server who was amazing and extremely knowledgeable about the beers. She was comfortable answering questions and seemed proud of the beer and food selection. She was going to transfer shortly to the new Ralph's and Ava in Martinsville. The beer selection is nice, along with several signature cocktails and wines. The interior is comfortable with mainly 4-top tables and a bar. While we were there, the sunlight was flooding the restaurant, which was nice. It wasn't great for photos, but that's okay. The menu has many of the standard bar or pub foods along with several nice entree dinners. I had the Crab Rangoon appetizer dip served with crispy wonton chips. I was told it is a popular appetizer, but I thought it was mediocre. My husband had the Smash Burger ($16) served with a side of chips. He thought it was good. I had the chicken salad crossiant ($14) with sweet potato fries. It was loaded with chicken and cranberries on a nice crossiant. The sandwiches and entrees are a tad pricey with a reuben being ($16), a grilled chicken sandwich ($15), and the Smash Burger being ($16). The entrees sound tasty with fish and chips, steak Frites, a 12oz bone-in porkchop with jalapeno applesauce, 12 oz. Charbroiled Ribeye along with Meatloaf and a few others. Food was great, service was good enough (not overly inviting and it seemed to take just a bit to get food), ambiance was okay - it was a little loud. I had a chicken salad sandwich and it was everything I was looking forward to - paired with truffle fries. Truffle fries were great and with a $5 upcharge, they make sure you get a lot. Excellent experience at Ralph and Ava's. Everything is clearly homemade (and if it isn't, they've fooled me) because everything we had tasted extremely fresh. My gf had the chicken salad sandwich which she loved. I had the stuffed portobello mushroom which left me wanting more. And of course they have a full bar! Service was extremely friendly and efficient. Place was clean and welcoming. If you happen to be in downtown Moorseville, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. On this visit to Ralph and Avas we both had the Onion soup, I also had the Smash Burger. My wife had the House salad with chicken. The Burger was fantastic, great bun as well. Came here for the first time on a Thursday night and this place was PACKED (but that's a good thing, right!?) The bar was totally full, as was the restaurant. The servers were working hard to accommodate everyone but there were only two servers and one bartender at the time so service was semi-slow. But, as a server myself, I know it's hard to predict how busy a restaurant may be. The food here was delicious! The crab rangoon dip & truffle fries were my favorites for sure, I highly recommend. The ambiance was great as well. As a small little boutique building in downtown Mooresville, they have done an amazing job renovating and decorating the inside to make it feel cozy and comfortable. We visited Ralph and Ava's on a whim last Saturday evening around 6:30. Easy motorcycle friendly parking right out front. Quaint atmosphere and we got sat immediately after entering. I was surprised that there were so many empty tables with all of the good reviews. We ordered the crab Rangoon dip because I've seen rave reviews. I liked it, but my husband loved it! It was chock full of crab. I'm not a huge seafood lover, so take that with a grain of salt. Had it been lower quality (less crab haha) I probably would have liked it more. If you love crab, you'll love this dip! Our server was great and attentive, without being intrusive. They had a great beer selection as well. For dinner I had the special - Jalapeño popper burger with truffle fries. I'm big eater and was stuffed! I ended up taking the fries home (which were great reheated in the air fryer the next day!). My husband had the Cast Iron Salmon and he inhaled it. He said it was one of the best salmon entrees he's had out. Not overcooked and very moist and flavorful. He's ordered salmon at most fine dining restaurants in central Indiana and it's usually overdone. As we were leaving the restaurant was definitely starting to fill up. First time back to Ralph & Ava's since the tornado hit Mooresville. So many changes. There is a real open and bright look to the place. The bar has been turned 90 degrees and expanded. We started our meal with the ONION BRUSCHETTA - cream cheese, goat cheese, caramelized onion, basil, balsamic reduction. Sorry no picture. It looked to good to wait and was as as tasty as it was beautiful presented. The wife ordered the strawberry spinach salad with the raspberry dressing. She insisted that I had to try the dressing. Meeting friends who live in Bloomington so Mooresville is a good halfway point for us. After searching where to eat (I mean other than the obvious amazing choice of Gray Brother's...Zydeco is now on my shortlist but this was a Tuesday and they are closed. Next time! Okay...back to the review) and came across Ralph and Ava's. I am so glad I did! I got there around 6p and was warmly greeted and told to sit wherever I wanted. The space just feels good. It is light, bright, airy, yet feels like you walked into your home. It is a cozy space with maybe 15 total tables. There are some window seats and a long bar with plenty of seating. They even had fresh flowers at every table. Love! We ordered pretzel bites and queso for an appetizer. Um. Amazing. They were fluffy, soft, not overly salted. The queso was some of the best I've had and queso is my love language so that is saying a lot. I wanted to order everything on the menu because everything was catching my eye from the fried chicken to the steak and frites. I decided to be healthy-adjacent and ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which had provolone, bacon jam, basil, sun dried tomato, and garlic aioli, and housemade chips. I skipped the bun and also got a salad because clearly I needed to balance out my meal. Well, that side salad ended up being a giant plate and even had house made croutons and bacon in it. Not so balanced. I moved on. Everything was delicious. And they make all their sauces in house! Sauce is boss in my book and the sauces were next level. We skipped dessert this time but will be back to try a slice of birthday cake. Our server, Emily, was just the loveliest! I'm so happy we stumbled across this place! It's amazing!!! Our server was incredible. She said there was only one guy cooking in the back. He was phenomenal. Our Buffalo cauliflower appetizer was amazing. It was absolutely the best I've ever had. We also had the truffle fries, those were a hit at our table. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, and the bacon jam was out of this world. My husband had one of the burgers and enjoyed it. The kids burgers were huge. Very enjoyable dinner at Ralph and Ava's last night. We had the pork chop and stuffed portobello. Both were great. The pork chop was tender and grilled to perfection. Chat marks, but medium/well done. The mustard based sauce complimented the pork perfectly. The stuffed portobello was and vegan delight. Served open face with sautéed veg stuffing. Cockatiels were artfull and reasonably priced. Atmospheric was open, soft lit and fashion forward. We will be back, for the steak and meat loaf. read more

Wow. Where to even start with this review. I'm not sure how this place has stayed under the Yelp radar but it is definitely a "must go to" place. I was headed home from dropping someone off at the airport in Indy and was searching for somewhere different to eat and came across this little gem. It was very easy to find. There is some street parking along with a nice sized parking lot around the corner. I ended up being there at a fairly busy time over lunch but service was still quick and efficient. There are several tables and booths as well as a nice sized bar area. There appeared to be an upstairs also but I'm not certain if there is seating up there or not. I'm more of a loner so I opted to sit at the only available table instead of sitting at the bar area. It didn't take long for Brookelyn to come by and take my drink order. They offer a variety of draft and bottled beers and seltzer's as well as some signature cocktails. I decided to go with a cocktail and got the blue drank. I was not disappointed at all. As a matter of fact I am attempting to recreate it at home it was so delicious! If I didn't have a long drive ahead of me I would have probably had another one! When it came to ordering my food it was probably one of the most difficult decisions I have made in my life in a long time. I wanted to sample every single thing on the menu! Guess that means I'll be back! I decided to go with the firecracker cauliflower for an appetizer and it was amazing. There was a very light but crispy tempura batter on tender cauliflower drizzled with a spicy sauce. To top it off, house made ranch to dip it in. Amazing. I went with the fried chicken sandwich and it came with house made chips and it was delicious as well. Crispy peppery fried chicken breast with house made Buffalo sauce, pickled onion and house made garlic aioli? Delicious. So much flavor was packed into that sandwich! Went here this morning for breakfast, which they recently starting serving...this place was amazing! I ordered the orange juice mimosa, which was freshly squeezed orange juice...they also offered pineapple, cranberry, & grapefruit. I ordered the veggie omelette, which consisted of asparagus, onion, artichoke hearts, & sun-dried tomatoes topped with hollandaise sauce, which I ordered on the side because I am picky with hollandaise, this was on point! The omelette came with red potatoes and a biscuit. Ordered a cup of gravy, to try, and this was by far the best gravy I have tasted in a restaurant. My friend ordered the strawberry basil jelly for her biscuit and it was phenomenal...portions are pretty big, I only ate half of mine and took the rest home! Talk about something that's good. If you're wondering about this spot, go for it! They had some of the best tasting food I've had in a long time. We live about 40 minutes from this spot and it was worth the drive. It is small and when you come in you just grab a seat. They have a steak that's $45, but my friend absolutely loves it. The sticky wings are my favorite. They also make their own ranch! One of the best tasting ranches you'll ever have. Firecracker cauliflower absolutely delicious. Their salads are a nice hearty portion. Burgers are well worth the price and fill you up. If you're looking for something different, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to come back and try more food. I wish I could try it all at this visit. Found this place on Yelp as we were leaving Indy. Nice quaint place with great service. We started off with the crab rangoon and wonton wrappers. I had never had that before. We really enjoyed that. Update! After a year, we decided to give it another go and wow, it was disappointing. The service was just as awful as all the other times, but with different staff. They had some different items on their menu we were excited to try; such as the mushrooms and chicken ceasar wrap. The mushrooms were a pile of breaded grease and the ceasar dressing was so strong and there was way too much. The water, yes water, was undrinkable. It's not filtered, and tasted terrible. I asked if they had any bottled water or offered any other kind of water but they do not. Sadly, we won't be after this visit. read more
