Worst experience ever in ordering a full sheet cake. Tried ordering cake online and it was not working. I called in my cake order and person who took my order told me to call the following morning to finish order. I called the next morning to finish order and I was put on hold for more than 10 minutes. I called again only to be put on hold. I couldn't deal with this inefficiency any longer. I called my local baker and ordered cake. I tip my hat off to the local bakers. This store is open later than the stater bros a block away so sometimes uts the only choice. Which means I explore here. There deli is eehh! Mediocre at best. The deli ladies are always nice. The bakery next to it is very helpful. If you need some red velvet cupcakes quickly this is the place. Meat department besides prepacked is non existent. Seafood department looks allright. They fry your fish for free right there. Just dont come too late. Private selections ice cream is better than the name brand. WORST store for customer service. Was charged twice for a $4.69 steak. ALL of the employees involved (from answering the phone, to the manager) were rude and acted as if I owed it to them to shop in Ralphs. The manager reimbursed me by 31 cents. Boy, I'm a millionaire now; that 31 cents just put me over the top! About a month later, again, I was charged full price for an item that was marked at a discounted price. What is wrong with these people???? Don't they know how to correctly do their job???? I'm going down the street to shop. These people are very nice, focused on treating you as a customer, and their prices are CHEAPER. Gee, I wonder why it has taken me sooo long to see that the grass is GREENER on the other side. Certain employees are still habitually wearing masks under their noses. Including bagger David, whom I didn't name before because I thought it was management's fault his mask didn't fit. Wrong. This grocery is the only one close enough that I can shop during my lunch break, so I'm still going... and every time, David's mask is under his nose. I've complained to cashiers and a manager, and they all agree it's a problem, but claim there's nothing they can do about it. I wonder if this has to do with the fact that Shirley the "Safety Coach" also wears her mask under her nose most of the time... And then there was the time a man stocking sodas had his mask all the way under his chin. I chose an off-brand soda far down the aisle from him rather than come closer for my Coke. He mocked me for my choice. I told him to pull up his mask. He did not. Seriously, is anyone in charge at this store who can do something about this? OC has a mask mandate and these people are touching customers' food, without regard to whether those customers might be in a high risk group. read more

We were at self checkout, and the attendant that is suppose to help out when you void an item left and wasn't paying attention to anyone but himself, we used to live near by and had great service with a guy by the name of chris, he was awesome. Train and show what's up with helping with the self checkout to many of your employees. I don't appreciate rude or unkind behavior AT ALL. Shop here all the time and I have never had a problem. The store is clean and organized which I love and they have just about everything. More reward offers would be nice since we spend so much here and being able to double up coupons again, but other than that its great and the staff is friendly and helpful!! read more

I have been coming in here for many years and recently in the past 1year to 1 1/2 years I have had some experiences that were less than par concerning a couple of the employees at this location. Years past the staff was great for the most part however when this store made changes including to a lot of newer staff something happened and this review would be a one star here however thanks to the manager Greg's willingness and word to me to address the issue which I believe he will do in order to correct the situation in regard to the problem I had with that one specific employee recently and his condescending nonchalant rude attitude I am giving this a 5 stars not because this is the best stocked store because frankly it isn't but because Greg is willing to correct his employee at the same time honor my right legal rights as customer knowing a essential business can not nor has any legal grounds to deny anyone service for not wearing a mask due to a medical condition deemed by a doctor. Which by the way Greg is also aware of medical privacy laws and knows that an employee cant request not even ask to see medical documentation due to privacy laws. Even those hired to answer the phones at Ralphs customer service corporate line are aware and instructed to that fact. If the employee I had the problem with would have called them as I requested of at least spoke to them when I had them on the phone the complaint to his store manager would have been avoided altogether but he refused to even acknowledge that conversation form corporate. Therefore I am giving this store 5 stars for Gregs willingness to correct situation allowing me in the store and to contact him if I have an further problems and also to educate that uninformed employee on the law and also address his pompous attitude as well as allowing me to shop with out a burka on my face upholding my constitutional and god given rights as not to be muzzled or treated like cattle. It's convenient, some of the cashiers are nice, but the one thing that really (OK, two things) drive me nuts about this store are the kids trying to sell Girl Scout cookies or whatever and they always close the entrance on the right of the store later in the day - it's soooo annoying. Although the store is always clean and the employees are mostly pleasant, I am very dissatisfied with the selection of fresh and organic produce. The already overly inflated prices for organic produce at Ralphs is enough to frustrate me, and on top of that the few items that they do have to choose from are close to going bad before they have even been sold. This is my number 1 grocery local store, I've been loyal to Ralphs for so many years because I love their products and their service and luckily this location is close to me so I come even more now. This location is always clean and associates are very helpful. So this place went from being my favorite store to a place I will only come too if it's absolutely necessary. I came here today to buy a birthday card and a gift card for my friends birthday tomorrow. Since I was here I figured id grab dinner from the deli area. Well since I only had a few small items I forgot i put my dinner at the bottom of the cart so when i got to the register I forgot to give the cashier the dinner I had placed at the bottom of my cart. Well here comes this older lady named Darlene who takes the dinner out of my cart didn't say a word to me about it and just hands it to the cashier. This lady gave me this nasty look like I had intentions on stealing the food.. Oh please I made a comment to the cashier about it(I think he was a manager) I was so pissed off and offended that the lady acted that way. Ralph's Bakery Department on Brookhurst Anaheim: Horrible! I placed my son's cake order 1 week in advance with the Ralph's Bakery female Manager who's name is Olivia (?) & I paid in advance. Upon pickup, the Bakery Manager wasn't available & the clerks said my order wasn't put through & apologized & guaranteed to have the cake ready in 1 hour & decorate the cake according to the cake order written instructions. 1 hour later we picked up cake, the clerk apologized & gave us a full refund but, the cake wasn't decorated based on the written instructions. To boot, Ralph's Bakery clerks very sloppy poured about 5 pounds of glazed strawberries on top of the cake as if they ran out of time! The cake looked like a disaster! It was literally like a mountain of strawberries were poured on the cake without regard! I will never do business with this Ralph's again! I had to click on a star on this review to post. I went to the part of the store where they take care of money orders since I needed to purchase one. The only employee back there was on the phone taking care of a Western Union order. As she saw me walk up, she immediately turned so that her back was to me. I didn't want to bother her, so I didn't formally say what I needed but she did see me. For the next 15 minutes I stood there, she'd turn but never make eye contact with me or speak with me. Finally, she called another employee to help me. As soon as I told the employee I needed a money order, she said that the employee that deals with them was the lady on the phone. The lady on the phone over heard, and tells me, "The money order system is down". Here's a pointer working in customer service such as yourself, ASK what the customer needs and let them know you'll get to them when you can. If you would have done this as soon as I walked up, you wouldn't have wasted both of our times. If you can't do a basic thing like this, maybe customer service isn't your thing. read more

I bought corned beef at this store 2 days ago and unfortunately there is a hole on the package that makes the meat smells and discolored. To make the story short Jason of the meat dept. help me to have it exchange. I asked him if he could give me the sale price which the bad one I exchange is on sale when I bought it. He said no problem and he will change the mark price to a sale price. Good customer service. To me he went above and beyond. I will recommend him for good customer service and I will definitely go back to this store. read more

I was at the cashier and grabbing my things out of my shopping cart and as i was grabbing my things I was about to get the divider to seprate the WIC and my other groceries but the cashier lady yanked it out of my hand and she fiercely told me that she put the divider there for a reason and she was rude, mean, and she embarrassed me in front of people after i took my reciept she laughed at me to the customers behind me (she doesn't laugh with her customers and rarely smiles at them) her attitude toward everybody is mean. because I wear a headscarf she was RACIST. The next day I called the office and I explained what happened and she said that the manager Denise isn't available right now call tomorrow between 5 to 7 pm. I go here all the time but at the cutting ham and cheese section this older lady has a ridiculous attitude and every time she wraps the ham and cheese they end up bundled up like a ball basically cheese sticks and breaks together before it's even in my cart. Went to this store last night and the first thing prior to even walking into the store were people hanging outside asking for gas money or spare change. Pretty shady and creepy. The store is not busy at all and now I know why. I went in to get van de kamp bread and tried to use a van de kamp coupon that clearly stated that it was for any van de kamp product. The cashier was unfriendly from the beginning and looked at the coupon and denied it immediately saying it had to be for frozen fish. Then I told her to read the coupon and she went to the manager saying is this for frozen fish only? The manager looked at the picture on the coupon and without even reading it, said no it has to be what's on the picture. Does the manufacturer have to put a picture of every item that they sell on the coupon if it's for ANY of their product??! I told them to read the coupon and it said any van de kamp product. The manager started raising her voice and said no and it got embarrassing because other customers were behind me. They were unfriendly and rude. If they were nice about it, I would have still purchased what I came in for. I've never experienced such bad customer service at any other Ralph's. If you don't want to accept any coupons, just be nice about it. FYI, the coupon beeps and the manufacturer confirmed that it has to be pushed through even for frozen fish! read more

Have been shopping here on and off since the store became a Ralph's. Over the years the variety has shrunk to be mostly Kroger products. The bakery goods are not better than the stuff on the shelf. The last three loaves of bread have had big air pockets which makes the bread useless. The deli crew can be great or awful depending who is on duty. The stuff in the deli case is mostly made elsewhere which means it's not as fresh as they would have us believe. The salads are just okay if you don't expect much. All in all the term "deli" aka"delicatessen" is a misuse of the term. If you really want deli quality food, look somewhere else. Produce: there is rarely any ripe fruit or tomatoes in the produce section - if you take it home then when it seems to have ripened it has no flavor. Tomatoes are usually tasteless. Lastly, if a store is going to have a bakery and a deli then they should try to make good food on site not ship it in. read more
