Worst deli counter service ever. Always takes forever and only one person ever is helping people. The rest ignore the customers waiting and waiting for 20 mins. I am glad that they hire the mentally challenged, but they need to provide them with extra hands to pick up the slack and not just stand off to the side pretending to be busy. read more

I used Ralph's deli and bakery for my son's birthday and it was perfect. 4 platters of sandwiches and 48 cupcakes and they were a huge hit and executed perfectly. For the price & the convenience, I'd definitely use them again! read more

Western Union never seem to work here out of 5 times I came here it was down 4 times its crazy. And that cashier named Khalid was an asshole and somebody please tell him its not appropriate to chew gum while tending with customer. And their fat lady manager was also rude and unhelpful. Helen and her Manager were the most miserable, irritated workers I've ever encountered. I felt as though I should have a pleasant experience shopping here just for one item . The time I came in was 11:50pm on Friday July 26th, as soon as my friend and I began to look for a bottle of liquor (right by the front entrance) we were approached by a shorter woman , profoundly yelling throughout the store "WE WILL BE CLOSED IN 5 MINUTES". She was chasing everyone out , me and probably 4 other shoppers. It clearly states online that they close at 12:00am. Given no one was in line , wouldn't take long at all to make a single purchase. This is when we encounter an old bitter angry woman ,cashier named Helen. She yelled out to her coworkers "Well at least I don't have to work at 8am, tomorrow like I always have to". She was giving everyone dirty looks and made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe Helen should grab a bottle or two for herself and chill out. This location needs new staff who know how to treat people without bringing their own issues into work. Better off dealing with the staff at Walmart at this point... read more

I am not one to give 5 star reviews often, but this market is fantastic. My review is specifically about the bakery department, but they are overall amazing here with their selection of natural and organic foods and their service. I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday party. I wanted something a little more custom than Costco, but for a similar price (not $100+ for a cake for a 2-year-old party and 40-50 guests!). I couldn't believe the quality. My husband and I are pretty picky about our baked goods, and we were extremely impressed. They nailed it with my request, had it done on time, and kept apologizing because they were still decorating it when I showed up early (I thought it would have been done the night before). The quality was AMAZING! A few of my guest could not believe that it came from a grocery store. It was fresh, moist, the frosting tasted like it was made this morning (I make my own frosting for smaller cakes, so I know the difference). I honestly cannot says enough good things and, if they keep this quality up, they have lifetime loyalty from me. read more

The new manager Chris is horrid. No customer service skills. I was overcharged for an item and took 15 minutes while he chatted with other employee. Then I scanned customer rewards number twice and it accepted and they canceled and used a card the cashier had in her pocket. When I told him he said "that is how we do it here to be faster." Im only giving this 1 star in hopes someone will contact me. I go here about daily (location to my home) though I boycotted it for an issue before---same issue that still comes up. It concerns the American Flag-- no one cares to honor and display it as it is supposed to be. I can go on and on but sometimes in perfect weather its not up, left out after dusk and once it was upside down.Yes seriously...I talked to the GM Jay who could really care less - I wanted the District Mgrs info and he said he would get it...then came and told me no...he would pass it on. Think he did? -Im saying no as no one ever got back to me--- The issue really comes from the top down. Im seeing so much turnover with employees. Don who got moved because of one of the newer managers 'issue with him' was there forever and I miss him...The deli gal left the job because of the same Mgr too --- Im just glad Cheryll is still there - she's the best!...anyway - Hope someone can get back to me becuase I have some stories about what goes on at this location - actually facts, not just stories. read more

Don't try to shop here during lunchtime M- Fr. I've left the deli counter at least a handful of times trying to get service during my lunch hour. Seems they are extremely short handed in that department. One guy working behind the counter seems to be always doing something other than helping customers. This store in general went downhill after the remodel. They got rid of all the staff that was there before the remodel except for a few. read more

This Ralph's is the most convenient store for us to use. However, the employees show little regard for the health and safety of their customers. Customers are expected to wear masks but the employees don't seem to care about masks. On 4 different occasions I have observed a meat section employee not wearing his mask (a young, skinny Mexican who wears a red bandana around his neck, but does not put it over his mouth and nose). Today I complained to the store manager about it. I can't think of a more important location in the store where viruses need to be controlled than the meat department. The manager walked off toward the meat area saying he would take care of it. About 10 minutes later I passed by the meat section again and the same employee was again not wearing a mask. I again complained to the store manager. His response was "maybe the mask just fell down". Ralph's publicizes all the COVID19 precautions that they take but there is no employee compliance and no real visible management concern about the lack of compliance. I'm sure other local grocery stores are more concerned about COVID19 safety than this store. If I could, I would give this store a minus rating. read more

Tired of the stupidity and arrogance of the employees in this store. My card (again!) didn't get through (it only happens in this store). This oldish (white hair) cashier yells: It's denied, Mam! I explain to her that it only happens at this store and it is getting frustrating, she stays there like an idiot looking at me like I was some inferior form of life because my card didn't get through. I had used the same card at two other stores 30 minutes before with no problems and the same card at a breakfast restaurant this morning. Such an infect place with poor quality products and employees who have zero respect for the customer. Also, the self checking out machines never work, you get to scan a couple items and out of nowhere there is this message on the display that a store attendant was notified for assistance. Nobody comes for minutes and when you finally get to have somebody's attention, they have a sour face and act like they are doing you a favor, no courtesy, no apologies, you are treated like they do not care and if you come back or not it is not their problem. I do not care that they are paid poorly, this is not my problem, I come inside the store to spend my money, I am polite and civilized and do not need to feel like I am doing something wrong by some frustrated individuals who could not do better with their life. On top of all these, got yoghurts that were way pass the expiration date and one day I got home and noticed that the carton of milk I had just bought had the seal broken. Looks like not much has changed since my last review. This is the only grocery store in the area so they feel entitled to treat their customers poorly. Hopefully a decent Trader Joe's or Sprouts will be opened in this neighborhood so these idiotic management here learns a lesson about respect for the people who make it possible for them to stay in business. read more

My 8 year old daughter and I walked into this Ralphs location on a Saturday evening and while the store appeared to be very busy with many customers at the checkout stands, my daughter and I were the only ones in line at the customer service booth waiting for assistance. There were four store managers on staff that evening (among a few other employees). Several of them made eye contact with us as my daughter and I patiently stood there for 15 to 20 minutes but no one greeted us or let us know some one would be help us momentarily. I was in disbelief of how long we were standing in front of the store without anyone attending us or even asking if we have been helped. Finally one of the employees by the name of *Christine* (who appeared to be a store manager) rudely yelled in front of other customers and asked if we had been helped. It was pretty obvious we had not been helped as she noticed no one ever approaching us or the customer service counter. I responded and said: "NO, no one has helped us yet and we have been here now for 20 minutes patiently waiting". Her rude response was: "Well, you will have to wait because we have many customers!" (as if my daughter and I were not a customer). I was not complaining just yet but her rude response was the last straw. Her argumentative, rude tone, and poor lack of customer service skills is not one of a store manager. She did not maintain her composure as a store manager should. In addition, she insisted on wanting to argue with me in front of my daughter and many customers standing in line, causing a scene, and holding her own line back. Another customer interjected and asked her to calm down and said it was unnecessary that we argue in front of customers (which I agree). That customer also requested help and Christine rudely said he would need to also wait. Christine persisted with a terrible attitude, wanting to continue to argue with me, and trying to justify the store's poor lack of service. I was not there to waste my time, argue, or listen to excuses. I was there requesting help on an item for my daughter. However, this store, and its entire management staff failed to set a professional example and help someone waiting for 20 minutes. Many witnessed the drama and stunt Christine helped entertain. If she cannot handle the pressure as an employee (let alone a store manager) at a busy supermarket, perhaps she should consider another profession. This matter is not stopping here. The power of social media and obtaining the store's corporate office assistance is much greater than Christine anticipates. She is fortunate if she still has her job by the end next week or until she loses her composure with another customer. read more

This was my family Ralphs for the last 23 years! Enjoyed knowing the store employees and knowing where everything was in the store! Well, over the last couple, three years, we saw our favorite employees getting re-assigned out to other locations, but we knew the store. And then the store was completely re-organized and we don't know where anything is which makes our shopping trips a bit longer and admittedly frustrating. And finally, our favorite and familiar brands were not being stocked and discontinued. That was actually what finally pushed us out to check out other local grocery stores. And we found a great resolution in the local Stater Bros. The store has actual floor tiling not concrete floor and feels so much cleaner and brighter! It is also very well stocked and we found all of our family favorite brands there with no exception. Unfortunately, the Lake Forest Ralphs just looks forgotten by their corporate office! I have to admit we reluctantly changed stores. This is the Ralphs that my son's scout troop sold popcorn in front of and my daughter sold GS cookies. We always got our birthday cakes and high school dance corsages and flowers there too....so lots of good memories. Truly sorry to see the store so diminished! Hope corporate takes notice! read more

Very un organized gross store not very clean with rude workers i walk in and as.im checking out im watching the staff eat sandwiches in front of me while working and goofing off .i have experience some very offensive slurs words that had been said and even had some run ins with some people their . Went in to get a cake and balloons for a co workers birthday . Let me start by saying I would give 0 stars but the 1 star is for the bakery staff who were very nice and helped me right away. No one was working the floral department so I asked a cashier for assistance and she gladly called someone over the intercom to help me . A lady approached who appeared to already be sweeping the floor and had a very rude attitude when I asked for balloons . It took her 20 minutes to blow up four balloons that looked like they had barely any air in them . She attached what look like a makeshift paper clip weight to the bottom to hold them down and handed them to me rudely . When checking out at the register I handed the cashier the balloons and in between passing the clip used was useless and that balloons flew up to the ceiling . The cashier offered to have more blown up for me but I didn't feel like waiting 30 minutes for more balloons so I asked for a return . So then decided that I was at fault and made a comment that I was to blame for the balloons going to the roof .she rudely handed my change back to me . Have been shopping here for years do to it being close to my office but will not be back again . Great customer service Ralph's. read more
