Went today, on a Wednesday afternoon and the staff really didn't know much about the food or if it was good, I used to come to just to say hello to the staff, they were so enthusiastic about the products and they were so friendly. It's changed. I liked learning about the food sources and how they processed the meats. The place offers good quality, and I trust the Soleman who is here. Unlike some other places, I found the service to be very friendly, and the space is quite spacious. They have a good variety of meats and fish. I recommend the ribeye or Wagyu. This place also has cherries, even when other places are out of stock. This is the 5th location I have been to! I enjoy Wild Fork and usually stop here to stock up on food for the week. Every location I have been to, the staff is great and they are very helpful. I know my way around the stores and know what I want so it is pretty easy for me to find what I want and need. Similar to other stores, the market is beautiful. The quality of the meat is great and it is not too expensive. Some of the higher-priced meats include wagyu and some of the steaks, but that is normal. A couple of my favorite items are taco meat, fajitas, and chicken nuggets. I also enjoy the seasonings that are located at the register. You can find some great recipe cards throughout the store so keep an eye out for those. Keeping my out for the next location and for my next visit when I am in the area. They had an event today that was a total joke,terrible! Not one table was set up for barbeques advice the samples were cold and they gave you 2 small pieces of meat 1 chicken and one beef and a little rice. I get more samples at costco than anywhere but whoever set this event up did a real bad job. We waited days for this and what a waste of time. I'm done with Wild Fork. read more

Cool store. First time shopping here. I am definitely very surprised. Very clean location, very helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff. There are tons to products here!: All kinds of meat, seafood, some pastas, desserts, pizzas, condiments, etc. Pork, beef, NY stake, prime rib, lamb, veal, bison, elk, Berkshire pork, macaroons, crepes, pies, etc. The prices were about the same as Trader Joe's and sprouts. Stopped by Wild Fork yesterday to pick up some meat, and what should have been a routine checkout turned into a moment I won't forget. At the register, Jeff asked me what had happened, and I mentioned I recently had shoulder surgery. He then shared that he has gone through tough times that go far beyond a shoulder surgery, and offered me his wristband that reads "Make History" and "Win the Day." He told me to wear it and pass it on to someone else who might need that push once I'm fully recovered. It wasn't dramatic or heavy--just genuine, confident, and human. You don't expect moments like that during a grocery run, but they matter. Great store, great products--but it's people like Jeff who really make the place special. read more

Some incredibly rude, aggressive and unprofessional men working there...and not just once...but multiple times! Good to know that after explaining the situation to some j*** named Jeff, along with showing him photos of the problem which was large bones & a lot of heavy scales on the fish...(and occurring 3 different times) along with my email, my phone number...etc...this clown not only refused to refund or credit me after both 800 customer service and a very nice friendly lady in the store (by phone) both promised they'd refund me. Not only that, but as he refused to give the promised refund, which I would have gladly used as a store credit, this guy had the nerve to laugh in my face! Wow! ...That's it! Done with this place! Too many times these people have been rude; one guy at 10 minutes before scheduled closing time starts telling me..."We're closing soon...are you ready to check out?" I mean I've never been in there more than a few minutes as most people. And as I brought my food to my car in one of the carts the guy says to me..."Oh...you're taking the cart? Are you going to bring it back?"...My car was literally about 15 feet from the exit, but he was worried he was going to have to retrieve the cart from the parking lot...but never offered to help....very rude. Also, every time I go to check out I have to give my phone number, my email and then repeat my phone number AND email again...every single time! So, when I told one of their guys working there a few weeks ago..."let's just skip the phone number and email"..."you don't give any kind of discount anyway, right?"...He got so angry that he slammed the rock hard frozen product down so hard on the counter you could hear it throughout the store! Talk about intimidating! Then there's the packages of ground beef...I've had at least 4 that seep out beef juice as they were thawing in the refrigerator...so I have to ask...how sanitary can those products be if there's a hole in the plastic packaging that's allowed exposure to the air and god knows what else! So this incident was the last straw! Better to go to TJ's where you're treated better, get better products and better prices! Also, FYI, know that the description of your purchase with your bank or credit card will come up as "restaurant", not a food store...that always throws me! Done with this place that hires such rude entitled people! KEEP IT! And I don't for a minute believe these people are "all trained butchers or worked in the culinary industry"...not for one second because these are people who are basically cashiers/checkers with some, yes "some" limited knowledge of the products. Also, be careful of their ground beef; I've had several packages of it leak juice all over my refrigerator upon defrosting, because there's either a rupture or cut in the plastic packaging...makes you wonder what it's been exposed to and how it's been handled... And I'll go directly to my bank and file with them, skip the abusive treatment. read more

LOVE Wild Fork !! There are so many options and the prices are fantastic! It's been my go to place for primarily my meat / seafood related grocery shopping (for last 1.5 years) and i love going in and each time finding something new to try as well (which is so fun for a foodie like me)! I Especially love the seafood options - shrimp, salmon, mussels as well as grabbing staples like chicken and steak! I have also enjoyed the ahi tuna blocks, duck breast, catfish and that you can get frozen sides for ease and convenience like gnocchi, raviolo, veggies, etc! Went here for the first time yesterday as my wife wanted to try a duck for Christmas Eve. There were none in the normal location, but when I asked someone I had three people looking to see if the truck that just came in had any and anywhere else in the store. I've been a customer at Wild Fork for about 8 months now, going in to buy meat once a month. Their meats (primarily beef, pork, chicken, and seafood) are frozen by flash freezing and vacuum packing. They store itself is very organized and the various freezers are well labeled, making it easy to find things you're looking for or making them easily identifiable if you're just browsing. You'll find many unusual cuts of beef that you won't find at other stores as well as unusual types of meat and game (ie - alligator and elk). The staff here are extremely helpful in making recommendations and giving pointers on how best to prepare specific cuts or types of meat. Each month I've been getting the same things: picanha and Italian sausage. I love picanha, a cut of beef I'd first enjoyed in Peru. You see it sometimes in restaurants but I'd never seen it sold in a grocery until coming to Wild Fork. The picanha and sausage are consistently scrumptious. I guess since I've liked these two items so much I've not veered out of my lane and keep buying the same thing. Today, as I was getting my usual order, another customer and then a store employee recommended their hanger steak so maybe I'll have to grab that next time and give it a try. This is the COOLEST discovery of 2022, so far!! Wild Fork Foods is in an unassuming strip mall in Mission Viejo that I would never have known about. I saw a bumper sticker on a car at the Ladera Ranch farmers market and looked it up and here we are! It's gorgeous inside!! They have only been open for 4 months. Jake helped us and he's awesome. We bought Florida pink shrimp, colossal Stone Crab claws, wild caught Chilean sea bass, smoked salmon, sautéed veggies, also flash frozen and a bottle of lavender rosemary salt. This place is unique and will hopefully be here for a long time. We were told that they're opening a location in Thousand Oaks soon! You should definitely check it out! read more

One really cool thing about this store is that everyone working at the cash register is either someone who's gone to culinary school or is a butcher, so feel free to ask them for info, advice and tips on the meats they carry. I got some really good ideas on how to cook the truffle brats so I could be the fancy bish I always wanted to be. Also, if you're looking for exotic ground meats, they have them - ostrich, yak, elk (farmed) ... Some good prices on some - like the chicken quarters for $0.98/lb. But the frozen prepared food was on the pricier side. Store worker told me to try the Mac and cheese - wild fork cooks the Mac and cheese to be al dente so when you microwave it, it doesn't get mushy. read more

Love this place!!!! At first I was skeptical about everything being frozen. So far everything and I mean everything I've tried has been great quality. I am lucky enough to live between this store and the one in Laguna Niguel. Everyone in both stores has been very nice and helpful. Especially Jim in the Laguna store. I have asked for his opinion on a couple of things and he has been spot on. Whenever I don't have time to shop, I would try their delivery service with perfect service each time. I've made Cioppino with their great selection of seafood. Mississippi pot roast was awesome. Beef and broccoli stir-fry with their thinly sliced beef. The beef was so tender and juicy. I finally checked out this wonderful meat market that has just about every kind of protein you could want . They even have small whole baby pigs frozen for BBQ's or to be smoked ( I didn't need to see them ) but I know they would taste great . The store has alligator meat , Boar, just about every kind of fish you would want to cook up and shell fish as well as prepared meals for under $8.00 I bought one it was delicious. The fettuccine Alfredo with lots of delicious sliced chicken it was way better then anything you could buy at the market or at the other store . I bought a small whole chicken and chicken hearts to cook up for my Sadie my 14 year old dog , this chicken was The BEST !! It was tender and delicious. I really wanted to eat it myself but I wanted to find a better whole chicken for Sadie and I did . Won't be buying grocery store chickens anymore for her . The guy that works there was very helpful as well . Prices are more then average store prices but you are getting quality meats and you can taste the difference. It's always nice to have a new grocery option in the area. Service here was great, everything is frozen, so many proteins to choose from! They also have a variety of sides, oven ready. First. I love the selection. I came for the bison, and left with so much more! Along with many items, I came home with the items pictured, steak burger patties, sweet potato fries, brioche buns, guacamole. All were excellent. I came home after purchasing items, and defrosted the pattys, took about hour and a half, they grilled up so good. We doubled up and seasoned them. Buns were grilled, and complemented the meat. The guacamole is perfect, and for home cooks a must, throw i. Your fridge and add spices to make your own intense guacamole. I'll be back! It's so fortunate having a brick and mortar store for Wild Fork Foods here in South Orange County. I believe the Mission Viejo store is the first in California! When you think of a meat shop, you probably might first think of a butcher. You won't find a butcher here. Instead, you'll find rows and rows of freezer. Doesn't sound too appealing? You're absolutely wrong. Wild Fork Foods have a wide assortment of your usual meats - chicken, pork, and beef, and various exotics such as elk, venison, bison, you name it. They also have wagyu and all the different grades of beef you can think about. But it's frozen? Yes, but it's flash frozen, which is just as good if not better than fresh. I last purchased ground elk here, and made a delicious Cincinnati Chili with it, adding the complexity of the elk taste to the already unique taste of Ohio. I recently bought some steaks and chicken and looking forward to firin' it up on the grill. Definitely shop local and come by here, this is one that can't be missed and a place I wish that will be around for years to come! TIP: You honestly can't go wrong with anything. On my first visit I was surprised everything was frozen, but when I thought about it, I wind up freezing all the fish and meat I buy anyway. So it doesn't really matter. Prices on most things are competitive, I'll pay a slight premium for convenience. Lots of variety, ranging from everyday meat and fish to more exotic meats. It may not be everyone's thing, but it does offer a nice alternative to the standard supermarket choices and it saves me from having to drive to the Asian markets in Irvine. read more

Just a new update Picked up some lamb chops (great) some duck breast (great) but steaks and beef seem to still be their biggest fails. My A5 aged was a one of the worst cuts I think I've ever had - before Wild Fork casts blame- I worked in a steak kitchen with a James Beard winner so I think I know what I'm talking about. Wow! Fantastic quality meats at really reasonable prices. Just cooked up the Picanha Steaks and the Chimichurri Skirt Steak. Just as good as anything you would get at your favorite Brazilian Churrascaria and fed three people with Steaks, and Sides for less than what it would cost for a single person. I've tried other meat and seafood delivery businesses and to compare against Wild Fork: - you get more quantity at a lower cost with still high quality - I prefer wild over farm raised and they have a generous variety of same seafood like shrimp, scallop, certain fish - their appetizer, snacks, are very delicious. Umm mini lobster grilled cheese sammiches? Def ate the entire thing in one go. - sometimes there isn't anybody in the store but I am sure they have a bell in the back because there's always somebody asking how things are going and ready to check me out - it's all frozen foods in deep freezer chests and upright freezers. It's def a sensory experience your first time entering. Not what I expected but was pleasantly surprised to see. Seeing as how I toss everything back into the freezer at home, having it already frozen is not a big deal for me. Most foods come frozen anyway, then get defrosted, trimmed, and sometimes re-frozen. Too many times frozen and defrosted yields to mushy and grainy texture. Here, it is ensured that you get better quality control. - I only come in to pick up so I don't know much about delivery. Also I am new to the area so I don't have much of a living history of this location to know much more. - I usually get about 1-1.5 months worth for less than $200 and can make 2-4 meals from each seafood package. Thanks to one of my friends for talking about this place. I do my general grocery shopping elsewhere and choose to do all my meat & seafood shopping here. It works out much better. read more

I have had about at least 25 deliveries and I have had only one bad product. There were some that were not my favorite but that happens when you try new things. Never spoiled seafood or meat. They are said to flash freeze and if it is not thawed and not eaten it the best thing to fresh. Their prices so far have been minimal increase in the year I have shopped. Hope this continues.
