This is our market, great selection, plenty of room to shop even when it's busy. However, the bakery, the person who makes their cakes is terrible! Second year in a row they got my son's cake wrong, I'm so frustrated! Luis who works in the bakery is great, unfortunately, he doesn't make the cakes. Be very careful when you order a cake and even more so if you order online, the last time, they didn't even get the order. I went to pick up and no cake. I don't go to grocery stores to buy actual groceries anymore.... Instead, I go to get pre made MEALS, I.E. I love grocery stores that have salad bars and pre made foods. I can thank Whole Foods for starting this trend, and I can also thank that delicious grocery store for MOTIVATING ALL OTHER STORES to update their offerings, because for awhile, they all simply had premade food and salad bars, just to say they did... I can tell this Ralph's supermarket recently had a bit of a renovation because the salad bar and hot bar were clean, tidy, neat and looked delicious! I dove RIGHT into the salad bar, where I filled my container with the protein offerings! You can pick from hard boiled eggs, bacon pieces, chicken breast, pulled chicken, turkey cubes, beef and SALMON! Typically salmon on salad bars can be describe to resemble the look and flavor of cat food, but this salmon- HECK NO! The salad bar offered up hunks of the real deal (i.e. Fillets) that were flavorful and juicy, no dried out at all! I topped my delicious salmon, and some hunks of chicken- yeah, that pairing is tasty- with some spinach and Broccolini and green beans! Hello delicious, super fast, super easy and EXTREMELY INEXPENSIVE LUNCH! Forget FOOFY restaurants that charge you $20 for 3 oz of salmon.... Why not pay $7.99 for a POUND OF FOOD?! Uh DUH! If you've ever seen those Ralph's commercials about caring about their customers, this is not one of those Ralph's. The manager here clearly doesn't know how to run a store right and doesn't care about the customers at all. First and foremost, this store cut its hours despite the fact that there are always people showing up at closing time and trying to get in. This problem has been exacerbated by the fact that THIS RALPH'S KEEPS CLOSING THEIR DOORS A FULL 20 MINUTES BEFORE POSTED CLOSING TIME; THEY WILL NOT LET YOU IN NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PLEAD TO SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THEM. It doesn't matter if you promise to be out by 1 am (when they're advertised to be closing). A grocery store is an essential location with basic, primary needs. The hours posted are there for a reason, so we - the public - know when we have access to this location and the products therein. To make matters worse, when the store actually is open, many items are unavailable due to the laziness and incompetence of the staff to actually get the items out of the way of customers and onto the shelves where they belong. Entire sections of the store are unavailable because there are boxes and dollies blocking everything. Considering the fact that the employees here short-change the customers during regular business hours AND have shortened the hours that they are open to begin with, therefore giving them tons of extra time to get things done, you'd expect there to at least be some organization and cleanliness here, but no. This is not to mention the fact that during COVID, the employees were not required to wear masks and roamed around the store mask-less, while customers without a mask were refused service. The manager has been told about these problems numerous times but fails to address the issues. They sometimes even try to block the door at night with shopping carts, presumably to dissuade customers from coming in and spending money. If you can find another grocery store closer to you, I'd recommend it. The only special thing about this Ralph's used to be their expanded hours. Now they're often just a waste of time. read more

Went to this location today for the first time in a few months. I won't go again. There were at least five different people walking up alongside me in the aisles wearing their masks around their chins. It was crowded, chaotic, and felt very unsafe during the pandemic. Tried to speak to a manager so they could make an announcement but no one was available. There was no one cleaning carts, no one checking for masks at the store entrance, and no one making announcements to keep customers safe. read more

This Ralph's has the worst customer service!! I stood around with another woman for about 15 minutes at the deli counter before the three employees behind the counter even acknowledged us. I couldn't believe it! At any other Ralphs, I'm usually helped within seconds of walking up to the counter. Ralph's employees don't seem to care about the customers at all. A guy in the meat Area almost crashed into to me with his trays, then the cashier kept everyone in linr waiting while the customer was doing god-knows-what elsewhere. Lastly, I requested stamps and I had to wait another 10 minutes for their manager to even bring them over to me. First of all, why doesn't each cashier have his own stamps. Second of all, why does the cashier need to ask you twice to bring my stamps? Third, why do you continue to talk to another cashier while a customer is waiting? The store seemed clean and seemed to have a good selection of stuff. It has a nice big Deli area and bakery section. read more

Great selection but after paying a $0.50 fee I asked for quarters from Byron who is apparently the manager of the location and he informed me that they don't do that anymore. Getting ONE roll after paying a fee should not be an issue at a venue of this caliber. Terrible customer service in my opinion. read more

I keep reviewing this Ralphs, raving about the fact that they have Sweet Lady Jane cakes (usually Red Velvet, Hummingbird and a couple others) but until today I never actually bought one from them. Well, today I can reiterate my RAVE REVIEWS for this Ralphs Fresh Fare - because I popped in to get an 8" Sweet Lady Jane Red Velvet cake ($17.99) for a girlfriend's birthday - and I was in and out of there in something crazy like 10 minutes. That's right - I didn't have to schlep to West Hollywood to get a fresh Sweet Lady Jane cake - it was conveniently available at my good old, reliable Ralphs - right around the corner from my home. Of course the cake was a big hit at the party - everyone LOVED the dark crimson red cake and super cream cheesy icing! This is my favorite Ralph's in LA. I am there every day for something. What makes it stand out is many of the long time employees who always go out of the way to be friendly and helpful. The manager Marty seems to live there and is always on top of things and happy to listen to feedback. When my favorite employee Imelda was transferred to another store I was really crushed lol. But I soon had a new favorite. My only criticism is the deli and salad bar area really should be spruced up the way it is during the very busy lunch hours. Many of us single guys look to Ralph's for dinner during 6-9 pm and then things aren't as on point as lunch although certainly passable. read more

I'm not an avid Yelper and do not often leave reviews, but the impetus for this one is the store manager, Marty. I'll start by saying that the employees there are lovely and I'm a very frequent shopper, so I don't write this lightly. Today I came to this Ralphs to do my Thanksgiving shopping and parked near the very back of the lot. I saw a homeless man standing on Olympic Blvd and asked him if I could buy him something for dinner. He said he'd think about it and let me know. It took me a few minutes to get to the front of the store as I was arranging some things in the back of my car. When I reached the entrance the man I'd approached saw me and said he'd like to take me up on my offer if it still stood. We stood there chatting and the store manager, Marty, stepped in front of me to ask the man to leave the area and stop bothering his customers. I explained that he wasn't at all bothering me, and that I had initiated the conversation. He completely ignored me and kept telling the man to leave and said, "I have great customers here and you need to go." At this point I said, "Marty, I'm one of your customers and I'm just talking with him. I approached him." Marty continued to ignore me and berate this man, who slowly walked away. I was so angry and said, "Now I'm leaving, too." He continued to raise his voice and said, "I wasn't talking to you." Marty, I didn't need you to mansplain anything to me. I was just fine and was aware of everything that happened, as I initiated it. I thought it would be nice to do something for someone during Thanksgiving week and instead I left my local store and likely won't return. read more

My first purchase of alcohol was made at this Ralph's lol Since this was on my way home I decided to stop here before getting on the freeway. Went straight to the liquor section and wow! I'm glad I came here!! My local Ralph's doesn't have this much selection! It was quite extensive. Also it could be the layout, as some stores have the more expensive liquors in the front near the registers behind the locked glass but this one has it in the aisles behind a locked glass. This Ralphs is always crowded, and parking can be a pain. That said, they have a decent selection of items you need. When you first walk-in, you see a lot of "sale" items (read: expiring candy bars and juices). You also see the deli, which never seems to have anyone working there. Whether I take a number or not, whether I'm the only person there or not, I always end up just leaving because I can't wait at the deli. The selection of breads and cheeses is okay. The everyday items are readily available at grocery store prices. The best part of this Ralphs is the produce section, especially the organic produce section. There are usually pretty good deals on produce, so if you like to make juice at home and can't get to the farmer's market, this is a good second choice. I also really enjoy the friendly, seafood workers They are extremely helpful and provide excellent service. read more

It's a nice store, big, excellent parking, attractive clientele, friendly cashiers (most not all), but the one continuing problem here that makes me shop elsewhere is the long lines at the sliced deli counter. Every single time, every time I am in this store there is one clerk on duty and 4-6 people waiting and it take me 20-25 minutes to get a quarter pound of Boar's Head turkey! It's not fair that this Ralphs is like right around the corner from where i live.. so when i'm in a jam.. i run over there.. the point that's not fair is.. i find they are overpriced.. and now being remodeled as a fresh faire Ralph's.. the prices seem to be going up. couple points for the new fresh faire Ralphs.. -the late nite door has changed from the West side to the East entrance.. which is nicer because that's where most of the traffic is coming in from.. -they added a full coffee bean rather than just the carafes of coffee they had on a cart.. one problem is that they had this new espresso machine.. and maybe he didn't know how to use it.. but it tasted funny.. and i don't know about getting a cold latte.. it just doesn't sound right.. and you could totally add milk to your espresso on your own.. but they charge u when they do it for you. -they added more fresh foods you can grab and go.. the downside it makes part of the store stink.. especially when you go in at night. -produce seems to have a large array of food.. but the selection still isn't very fresh.. and the prices need to drop.. maybe i'm just used to seeing ktown market produce prices anyway.. i can't complain too much.. it comes in handy when i need to make a quick run to the store. read more

This is one of my favorite markets (usually go to Gelson's Marina del Rey). It's huge, clean, has lots of stuff. Their deli counter is always mobbed at lunch time. They have things here I can't find elsewhere (except at Gelson's) and the parking is good. And they're open 24 hours a day! They have a self serve line if you like to do the check out yourself. I see some negative reviews for this Ralph's and thus, wanted to chime in... I've been going to this Ralph's for the past year since I moved up to West LA. I think it's great! Always clean, fresh food, the shelves are stocked and faced, they have a pharmacy and all of the cosmetic/toothpaste stuff... I also love their deli area! One of my favorite cheat foods is their green burrito... it's like $2.99 and equates to I think a pound of chicken. I'm sure the sauce is pure fat, but it's so damn good! UGH! So besides having everything in the world, they even have a Coffee Bean, which is awesome for Sunday morning grocery shopping. They even have a security guard who walks around the parking lot, so your stuff is a bit safer. What else does one want in a grocery store?? Anwyay, nothing but good experiences here. If you want to see what a 1-2 star grocery store looks like, go to the Von's about a mile away on Santa Monica. I went there once. I like my Ralph's. read more

For you Bay Area folks: this is not associated with Raleys / Nob Hill Foods. Lesson learned the hard way. The cashier thought my folks and I literally thought it was our first time in America. Therefore, sign up with their rewards service. Go early in the morning... it gets a bit crazy during the afternoons and evenings. Watch out when you're walking back to your car... don't get run over by people backing out and coming into the parking... it's ridiculous how fast cars go in and out of this lot. I'm here. Walked in to purchase some filet of sole and have them cook it..... That turned into, the oil is dirty to there is no oil to unspoken I don't know how to put the oil in... This led to me seeking a Manager...who had been approached by one of the "confused about all things oil" employee, who then in turn said the employee told him "they were very busy and didn't have time to fry the fish" . Busy with WHO? It was just me, the fish and crabs...soooo now you just lie? ***sighhhhh* I'll stick to the fish market and another Ralph's. UPDATE: While I did not want chicken as an option I also did not want to drive around, so chicken it was...8 pieces, some barbeque and some fried, a container of mustard potato salad and 1/2 a pound of brussel sprouts. Went to the register to checkout and Robert the Manager was quite accommodating and charged me nothing, for all of it and for that I am pleased and thank you Robert for exuding A+ reasonable customer service with a smile. read more

It's my home Ralph's and I go there because it's better then most of the other grocery stores within a 5 miles radius of my place (and there are several). They are pretty quick at checkout and always have someone at the self-check out kiosk and I don't need to stand there aimlessly. I also prefer to go later in the night or Fridays because it's quiet and very short lines. I try to avoid Sundays even at night because the shelves can be empty and messy especially if it was a big event/holiday weekend. read more

My favorite place for grocery shopping. I'm actually surprised to see so many negative reviews, especially about the staff. The checkout staff is always super helpful and friendly, and the store really does have a great produce section. Super huge store, super clean, always a pleasant alternative for shopping compared to the crap Von's across the street from me. For the reviewer who complained about expired products, common sense should tell you to check the dates yourself. There's hundreds of thousands of items in here, I wouldn't blame them for a mistake every now and then. Anyways, definitely one of the better grocery markets I've been to. read more

I lost my mothers card on may 12 at 11:35 pm right after I purchased it and realized its missing 10 min later. I drive back. I didn't had my recipe , i was frustrated and it was only one card was left like it but suddenly I found my recipe in the trash can and Joel one of the staff at ralphs there tried to calm me down and helped me to look for another one he was so nice and positive and when I lost a hope for this card he suddenly found the card for me . Super unprofessional and rude. Asked someone to help me at the deli and the guy who works there scolds me tells me to wait because he's in the middle of small talk with a customer who he had already finished helping, as if I'm taking time away from him. Then accuses me of being grouchy even though I said barely anything and tells me they have 2 security guards on duty today for dealing with grouchy people. Nice thinly veiled threat - a little much for someone who simply wants to get an item and move on. Another time I go there I get accused of shoplifting a brownie, and told to dig out the receipt from the recycle bin. read more

This is one of the worst Ralphs i have ever been to. Every 6 months or so, i find myself screamed at, berated at by a staff member despite the fact i rarely go there. It is beyond ridiculous. The staffs are so so unprofessional, if i can give them a NEGATIVE score i would! If you ever need help at the self-checkout line, then pray NO STAFF will scream at you because the machine is stuck or the computer is doing strange things. The staff at this store on Barrington + Olympic are so so rude, often if you ask for help, they give you an attitude like you have committed a crime and they are doing you a favor by helping you. The only staff who are nice are the ones working in produce. The deli is delicious but given how rude the staffs are at check out, I recommend you go somewhere else. It is a horrendous experience for me to pay to buy food and get berated and yelled at for no good reason but because i needed help at checkouts etc. read more
