I really want to like this store. Sometimes they have great deals in their ads and I buck up and go take advantage. Sorry but I always regret it. The place is impossible to maneuver a cart around the employees who are restocking everywhere and NEVER...NOT ONCE acknowledge your presence except to roll their eyes if you get near them. Then when you finally FIND what you need because shit is everywhere, you get to check out. The checkers really need a pep talk about etiquette and customer service. DO THEY TRAIN THEM TO BE RUDE? Today ...the cashier handed me the scanner to scan my own heavy groceries in cart. The bagger left half my groceries unbagged with MY bags tossed on top of them because it was time for her to go on break. The lack of customer service is shinning bright! The girl Jackie who was working self checkout this morning 8/24 at around 9:30 am was honestly very rude to me and another customer. A customer didn't want to use self checkout and there was no one at the other registers and she proceeded to tell the customer "if there isn't anyone standing there then I would assume no one is there" in a rude tone and it was obvious the customer wasn't comfortable using self checkout and still had to use it because she was lazy and didn't want to ring him up. We don't know his situation maybe he's challenged and didn't want to use self checkout. So I asked her where are the other employees. And she explains how they're on a break and then proceeds to chat with another customer on how she needs to take her second vacation already which was rude given the fact we were just asking for her help right before that. It was just over all a rude encounter and she definitely needs her second vacation her attitude is horrible. I hope I never run into her at self checkout again. Huge fan of grocery pickup. Have done it at multiple Ralph's locations over the years with no problems. This Ralph's location takes SO long to bring out the order and almost every other order I make they forget to bring a WHOLE bag of groceries out. Don't realize until I'm home. So frustrating. Plus, people park in the pickup spots then get out and walk inside to shop. read more

If you are looking for a deal on baked goods, you might get lucky and come accross some super good deals like a 6-pack of cupacakes for $2.76 or small cake for $3.00. Manager Jose, (and Hannah, and Kanan: employees) at Ralph's Channel islands, Port Hueneme, CA during evening hours during Christmas season 2025; will not give customers the code to the bathroom, saying there are too many homeless people in the area, so nobody is allowed to use bathrooms at Ralph's, even customers are NOT given the code to the bathroom, when politely and professionally requested. That is an awful inconvenience for customers who shop and spend their money at the store, to be turned away from using the public bathroom. What about customers with children, who perhaps cannot wait to drive somewhere else when shopping. It is not fair to children, who need to use the bathroom. Customers should seriously consider whether or not it is worth shopping at this particular store, due to this deliberate inconvenience. I would rate this store a one star out of five total. Which is a poor rating. read more

Just Made the shampoo/toothpaste aisle 1 way and you need to purchase items in the aisle I'm going to cvs for anything I need in that aisle. Moved the planogram and no one knew where they put the horseradish. Restocking seems to occur after the store opens in the morning making it difficult to shop the store. If you're the least bit claustrophobic, don't go here. It's by far the most under shelved and overcrowded market I've ever been in. Everything is cramped and jammed. Management is lazy and unhelpful. CUSTOMERS OF RALPHS BEWARE OF KAREN THE CASHIER!!!! Went to Ralph's today and had a bad experience with cashier Karen. First of all, she didn't greet us when we came into her line (guess we were bothering her). Second, she didn't bother to bag our groceries for us. Yes, normally there is a separate person bagging the purchases, but that's no excuse. Usually if the cashier doesn't have a bag person, the cashier will bag the purchases themselves, but not Karen. I had to bag my own items. And to top it all off, she didn't say thank you after we were done paying. She just handed the receipt over and started scanning the next customer's items. I don't understand how this kind of behavior is ok with Ralph's. Karen needs to retire quickly because it's obvious that she is miserable and takes it out on the customers. UPDATE: The store said they would hold the groceries for us in the cooler so that we could come back when they were done returning everything and ringing it up again because they told us it would take a while. We were not told there was a time limit and we were at the hospital. We came back a few hours later and all of our produce and refrigerated stuff was put away. Our dry goods were in a cart mixed with a bunch of other people's go-backs. The manager,Mario, again had zero compassion and did not apologize until we told him that was the least he could do. We were very upset and then he told us to leave. Terrible experience. Cashier rang us up for our $450 transaction, helped us bag, and told us to have a good day. Then as we are putting our bags in the car an employee ran out saying we didn't pay???? We went back inside and the rude manager Mario said we had to bring everything back inside and they had to ring it up and return everything because the person in line behind us paid for our order somehow?? The cashier didn't finish our transaction on her end and just kept adding the guys stuff to ours and then he ended up accidentally being charged for everything. WTF We ended up having to leave our stuff there because it was going to take a really long time to return and then ring everything up again. The manager had no empathy, no apology, no customer service skills, and we are completely disgusted. I have been using this Ralphs since 2001. I took a brief break when their employees went on strike, years ago. The customer service here is outstanding. A special shout out to the fish counter and the checkers and my favorite cart/bag/buggy man Gary. He found my little hand-bag in the parking lotand turned it in. Went to Ralphs off Channel Islands early this morning and was concerned that the bagger on duty was not wearing gloves. I asked the cashier who had a mask and gloves on and was behind the newly installed plexiglass why the bagger wasn't wearing gloves. He stated that employees have to buy their own protective gear and that's why the bagger didn't have gloves on. Shame on Ralph's Grocery Company for not protecting their employees. All your employees should be at least wearing gloves not only for their protection but your customers as well. The most RACIST location I've ever experienced in my entire life. The manager is abhorrently racist towards African Americans. It's disgusting. Don't go here at night for a quick run because the night manager is a horrible person and she assists checkouts so she will try and profile you. Her name is Karen, and I'm not joking. She has harassed me each time I've come to this location. She's pretty much called me poor because of my skin color she assumed I was homeless. Even with BMW keys in my hands, AirPods, iPhone, and more I've still been harassed. I've called corporate on this location several times. Kroger's does absolutely nothing about discrimination. The workers there are pretty similar to the management. If you're a black individual you might as well expect to be harassed or watched over because they will try to treat you like a thief or homeless person. As a pregnant woman, I've experienced the worst service from workers. At checkout, I asked for help and this man who works there mumbles under his breath that he'd see if someone else can assist me because he for some reason could not and he takes the item I needed to replace. I'm standing at checkout for a while with a huge belly and I look over and ask him if he was able to get anyone...he says we don't have anyone who can...sooo at what point was he going to inform me of this?? I am so SICK of Ralph's! I go to the Port Hueneme store and the Ventura one and it's the same story over and over. I can't have 12 bottles of water. They only have 2. They only have 1 bag of bagels, too bad. The salsa I like? All out. At least one thing I want is not available every time I go. They can't get you any from the back because they DON'T KEEP EXTRA IN STOCK. How crazy is this? It's the Dell model. They order parts when they have a buyer. But this is not ordering for a computer that will take week to get to you. This is a supermarket where I expect the food I want is there when I walk in! When I ask the manager when they will have more in stock, I get very a defensive "I don't know. I don't do the ordering." Thanks for nothing. Manny was especially rude today. Also, the produce is garbage. I bought nectarines 4 times this year. The first ones were great and the last 3 times they didn't ripen, they went rotten from the inside out. I've gotten tomatoes that were moldy the next day. Everything is absolutely tasteless. Produce is sooo expensive. I couldn't waste my money anymore. Not when there's a farmer's market 3 days a week. I've never had anything but courtesy, cheerfulness, helpfulness from the workers there so they're not the problem. I've been sticking with Ralph's because of the points off your gas but it's not exactly gas efficient to have to go to Ralph's every day. I'm giving four stars because it is my local store and where I usually shop. Nothing special, but nothing wrong either. It's a typical Ralph's store with above average quality produce. The rest of the grocery items are average to high priced, compared to other stores. They do have enough checkers that the lines are never long and they have a person managing the lines and pointing customers to the shortest lines. Teller was terribly rude to my mom (in her 70s). My beautiful, smart frugalista Mom picked up a few sale items and the teller wasn't familiar with the sales.
