They don't call it Whole Paycheck for nothing! But you know what, when you need it, they have it. All the "niche" oils, seasonings, and other rarities that will top off your next dinner party. The bakery and deli are the best part of the store. Staff is friendly and helpful. Produce department always have fresh items and locally sourced produce, which is greatly appreciated. Stopped by for a smoothie today. The smoothie was actually pretty good. But, customer service as usual at this Whole Foods was deplorable. Totally unfriendly woman could barely bring herself to even take my order. Extremely robotic. Why isn't there a manager present to teach staff good customer service??? I usually seem to only make my way here when I have an Amazon return - which is unbelievably helpful BTW! But lately I've been a more specific in planning my trips and can (and do!) spend hours walking the aisles here. Such treasures await. They have huge varieties of so many things! Worst cashier ever. I went there for one thing but wound up getting a dozen things. Normally the cashier asks for my phone number but he made using my amazon discount very difficult. So usually the food is good, especially the hot food bar. They used to do breakfast but now they do something called a breakfast pie. Don't buy that. It's awful! I think they charge $4.99 but the barcode got steamed off so it only charged me $3 and I didn't bother with the receipt but totally inedible. It's a square block of overdone eggs scrambled with little dots. They call bacon and the pie crust part is just completely inedible. They do better to just take the block and put it in a foil but undercook it so that when it sits in the steamer it isn't inedible. By the way, keep you received. I've been going to Whole Foods since it opened. I remember coming here often for pizza and sweets when they it opened at the collection. Now I come here for groceries every now and then. Some items are reasonably priced believe it or not. For example, I would pay more for a salmon family meal, rotisserie chicken, fruits, and bread at Sprouts. I love the prepared food section and the variety of local wine, liquor, and beers. It's always fun to make a trip here occasionally. There pricing has become more competitive over the years. They have Amazon Prime return and pick-up services. There's assistance available in a small section near the entrance near the parking lot. There is a kiosk option for returns as well. read more

I am reviewing Whole Foods after it became an Amazon led company. Before there was that 'whole' joke about "Whole Paycheck" I used to think that alternative groceries started at Trader Joes for affordable organics, then Sprouts for mid level alternative healthier brands, and then at the higher end Whole Foods, Gelsons, Bristol Farms (Erewhon is its own planet of inflated prices!) etc. BUT now after Amazon came in, there are so many rotating Prime member sales, so now Whole Foods is generally lower priced than Sprouts. Sometimes their retail prices (esp. on Health Beauty section) are lower than Sprouts retail, which can be pretty high. I know the store now may feel too Amazon and less like the indie community oriented Whole Foods vibe from before. I'm sure employees from way back are not as happy working here as Whole Foods used to be a Top 50 places to work for company. But as an average consumer who does not need to frequent bougie or niche upscale grocery, Whole Foods suits me decently well. I've also been checking out their 50% off (close to expiration) prepared foods or Bakery finding some pretty nice deals. They also have weekly specials for Prime members on Tue. and Fri. This Oxnard location is pretty easy to shop, with nice wider aisles. Their shelves are super tall, which is inconvenient for us shorter shoppers. I think some of this is unsafe stocking shelves so high up, but generally the store is clean and accessible. read more

I don't know why I bother going to this place with multiple bad experiences. I guess due to convenience because it's walking distance from me. This morning I went to purchase pastries multiple mini pastries for a colleagues birthday ( which I've done two maybe 3 times in the past with no issue). There's 14 of us in office so I usually get a variety of things. As I was ordering the man felt the need to lecture me and notified me that I could place a special order because they like to keep their case filled and looking nice. He probably didn't mean for it to come off the way he did but it totally came off like a lecture. Even seemed a tad bit annoyed. Don't they want us to buy what's in the store? It was just very odd to me. I told my colleagues about it and they said I should've just walked away and went to somewhere else. They are right. This whole foods had a lot to offer, including a full bar inside that you can take a break from shopping and sip and ipa at. They also had the smoothie bar as well as the whole bakery and deli section in most of their grocery stores. I was looking for dinner in here with my sis as we were leaving the collection so we didn't have to stop anywhere else to grab food. They had everything I wanted and then some. This is a place in which I have to be incredibly careful because I love it so much. I have to go in with moderate hunger at most, a plan, and list in mind. Otherwise, my wallet will have a significant dent in it. I adore their cold salad bar for lunch where I get to stock up on healthy fibrous fresh leafy greens, celery, carrots, tomatoes, onions, raw nuts and seeds, and avocado dressing. Their chicken and lentil soups are pretty tasty too! When I top this all off with Hop H20 (water) or cold brew, it is like visiting Heaven on Earth! read more

This is one of the better Whole Foods I've been to and they definitely deserve an overall 5 stars. This location is my go to Whole Foods and they don't disappoint. I feel that their items are always well stocked in comparison to the other nearest WFM. When I create my grocery list I find that they always have what I'm looking for and aren't sold out of most items which can be an issue elsewhere. The store is clean and easy to navigate. The quality is there from the produce section, to the meat counter, and hot food bar. I don't mind paying a little bit extra for good quality items and groceries. The staff are also friendly and helpful here. Anytime I've asked someone to help me locate an item they've always stopped what they are doing and have assisted me. Nice people work here. I'll keep giving this location my business, even though there is another WFM closer to me this location always meets my expectations. read more

Stopped by for an açaí bowl. The Amazon is my fave! It was packed with fruit but too soupy. I love the prepped food at Whole Foods. We get bdays cakes here though they been tasty a little different lately. Not sure if they changed vendors. Dulce had the best customer service despite having a line and not having an help. There were two ladies at the bakery labeling while she was by herself taking ordered and prepping the food. I think Whole Foods still doesn't have staff scheduling right. It's unfortunate because I was tell myself don't go back .. wait a few months and then do. I just love the Açaí bowls. They use the Sambazo brand of açaí which I love. The food area looked cleaned and it was pretty busy today. It is Saturday, so I guess everyone is grocery shopping! Traffic was dead awful. They was a security guard directly traffic but this is a given at The Collection on the weekends. It's a popular place for Oxnard and visitors coming to our city. I've been coming here since it opened in 2012 and continue to be a satisfied customer. My favorite part is the Rincon bar inside with the cute airstream decor. It's always a fun time over a nosh or a full meal and a beer. The beer selection at the bar is good. I recently was in and they had local faves like Tarantula Hill and Stone on tap. The beer aisle is also worth a gander. I recently picked up Pliny and some Mikkeller there are fair prices. I can often find Dogfish here too. The bakery and deli area are my go to-s. The baked goods are delicious. There isn't a thing I haven't liked. They offer McConnell's ice cream on a cone or in a cup, freshly made pizza and made to order sandwiches. All worth a stop in. This Whole Foods Market can be found at The Collection outdoor shopping plaza. My husband and I decided to make a stop here after driving home from Central California. We figured we could take a break from all the traffic and maybe even grab something for dinner. We ended up choosing the $14 entree and 2 sides deal. We ended up choosing: Sweet chili salmon, Pesto potato, Golden beet salad- My husband picked this. The salmon he had was pretty tasty and cooked just fine. The piece of salmon was rather small though, but I was expecting that for the price point. I liked the pesto potato but my husband thought it was unexpected to taste clove and/ or anise in the potato, which he didn't really like. I liked the golden beet salad and thought it was fresh. Bay shrimp salad, Orzo pasta salad, Broccoli salad- I opted for the shrimp salad. Because it was so creamy, I thought it would go well with either crackers or in a sandwich. The orzo pasta was nice and I really liked the broccoli salad (one of my usually picks when I am at Whole Foods). -------------------------- (Total= $28, no tax) We waited at the deli counter for close to 10 minutes for someone to help us. One staff member did acknowledge us and told us that he will help us after he helps the customer he was currently helping. This was yesterday, a little before 6 pm. After we got our meals, we headed to the front of the store and paid through the self check out. Then we just sat at a small table and ate our meal. I was surprised that this location has such a small dining area. Most of the other Whole Food Markets that we have been to usually has more seating available. Portion for both our meals is pretty reasonable and perfect to feed one person. I think the price is fair for the choices offered. This store in general was clean upon our visit. Service behind the meat counter is not good and purchased fish way past prime. I don't trust the turnover or quality of the seafood and meat counter here. I've been to many Whole Foods and this one is just... well... different. I had a bad experience here that was completely unnecessary. I have an autoimmune disorder in which I go through flares, making it difficult to stand for long periods of time (it can cause me to pass out). I thought I could make it through a 20 minute shopping trip as it was early and the store didn't seem too busy. I got my things, proceeded to the register. The employee is ringing someone up and joking around with a coworker, then sees me and says "I'm closed!" after I had already been standing there for a few minutes. I ask her to please ring me up, that I can't stand for too much longer. She points to the other line which now has 5 people with carts full of items. I ask her again and briefly explain my situation; she snaps back "we're doing the best we can!" I get in the other line and I'm getting dizzier, on the verge of just having to abandon my basket. I see the same employee open ANOTHER register and grab someone out of line to check out! I was in absolute disbelief. I literally had 5 things and I had just explained my situation to her. It was obvious she did this out of spite for some reason but it was incredibly cruel. I had to abandon my things and I left feeling completely defeated. Just know that not everyone has disabilities that you can see. I would not wish my condition on my worst enemy. Thankfully I am in remission now but I will never forget how I was treated here. read more

Was visiting the Collection from Stevenson Ranch and stopped at Whole Foods for lunch. I approached the food court and an associate named Ian said he'd be with me shortly. Shortly was 23 minutes later as I stood and watched him make 3 pizzas. There was another associate named Jose helping someone else because as time went on, and no one was helping the people waiting... a line of people was now starting to form. I ordered carne asada tacos, but asked that the meat be swapped because upon noticing after it was handed to me... the meat looked dry and burnt. Jose explained to me that this was just how it is, but I've ordered these tacos before many times at the Valencia location. I love the variety at this Whole Foods in comparison to the Valencia store, but service from the associates really lacks at this location which is why I give it one star. read more

This place has hands down one of the best salad bars. It I not cheap, but they sell it by the lb and from eggs to tofu to lettuce it's all the same price. One of my friends got a lb of cooked beats for the same price I got a meal salad for example. Next this is good place to get a sandwich or burrito, and has a nice deli with tons of other entrées to take home. Also there is pizza that can be made to order or bought by the massive slice. On groceries, we know the manager and met her several thanks giving ago when our online order did not go in correctly. She will make things right if she at all can, and runs a great group of people. Next prices are reasonable if you stick to store brands and compare prices. Basically there is amazing things from Europe like prosciutto and mozzarella that will kill your wallet. And $15 a lb for lunch meat sounds like a lot until you compare it to other markets...and the roast beef is pt die for. read more

I was waiting for a little bit ( I work in the service industry, so I understand) but what rubbed me the wrong way was the fact that two of them saw me standing in line and not once I get a hello or we'll be there in a second. They just kept holding boxes and the other one was cleaning a machine while one girl was working on drinks then when the girl approached not one high or anything, she just rudely asked. "what can I get for you". Hopefully management is able to train these girls to be more nice and appealing to customers, so they don't look miserable behind the counter. read more

Went on my lunch break since I work around the collection to get some pizza. As my luck would have it there's no pizza available. So I wait patiently until it is served. There seem to just be petite white women working who don't seem to know how to hustle at all. The attendant working there with the purple hair then told me "Please don't" as I held one of the pizza handles that was on the plate. If you don't want clients grabbing the pizza then all pizza handles need to be cleaned, washed and sanitized for every single new pizza presented and served. I then said, ""Pardon me", to which she responded and said that every single pizza handle is for different pizzas. As I said and mentioned before, every pizza handle needs to be cleaned and sanitized and presented after the pizzas are placed. No need to have a hissy fit about it. Prefer the gentlemen who work there who know how to get things done instead of these women who seem to take everything personally. read more

I have made the same comment about the coffee at the Whole Foods near me; I even got a reply acknowledging the problem and saying that they would mention it to the baristas. The latte is just plain bad, a combination of bad beans and not well made. A latte should be creamy, meaning that you have to froth the milk for long enough that it becomes creamy. Otherwise you are just pouring milk into espresso. Also, I was standing right there; they could have told me that the coffee was ready, rather than having me stand there until I noticed there was a designated pick up spot. read more

Go to a WF in a major city and you can see the explicit difference. hot bar also suffers from the lack of quality and lack of variety many other WF locations offer. If you need something from their grocery selection, you are probably well served but the entire F+B offering is inconsistent with the brand promise and other locations. read more

I went today around 10AM . I was craving their pizza by the slice perhaps later a cup of coffee and a salad. Three pizzas by the slice , very dry, no one in the counter. Was informed the guy encharged decided to go to lunch. No one took over. I looked at the other choices, soggy salads, dried up cookies. Is this what AMAZON did to Wholefoods? As a recently prime member, I was disappointed!!! Only the produce was still like it used to be. Mr Besos watch your acquisitions. No cashiers, only one at the Soap and Toiletries.
