First visit here. This was actually my first experience ever visiting a Walmart (neighborhood market) Grocery Store. I have usually shopped at the Walmart Superstores. Where have these been hiding out for the past several years of my life?! I really love that I could shop for Walmart groceries without the hassle of dealing with the larger superstores which means more people and more lines. This is very small and I like the idea of giving me just the right amount of choices without overwhelming me. There were several different keto bread brands to choose from as well as they carry some Realgood Foods frozen foods items I haven't seen before. There is no deli or bakery so fresh deli meats are limited as well as bakery items. It does have a Pharmacy and there are many sections in which they have to lock up products behind glass cabinets in which you have to call for assistance. I have now lived in Oxnard for a little over 3 months and it took me this long to check this place out. I will be back to do more weekly shopping here. They had everything I was looking for and then some. read more

Walmart has what I need. Often for the lowest price available compared to nearby places. I only really dislike Walmart when it is busy. Now I really dislike the new 15 item limit for self-checkout. You will have to wait in the long lines for a cashier to scan your items. No, you cannot do two separate transactions for self-checkout. I asked the employees watching the self-checkout lines. They said it needs to be different people doing a transaction. For those who do not want to wait in the long lines. Here are your options. 1). Buy less than 15 items. 2). Park and Pickup items in a parking spot. Employees will put together your order and arrive to your car (You need to order online or in the app). 3). Use the Scan N go App (requires Walmart+ plan). I feel like employees are unaware of this option. They might assume your stealing. 4). Home Delivery (requires Walmart+ plan). Don't blame the Walmart employees for these new rules. Walmart and other big retailers are cracking down on the self-checkouts. Thieves will always find a way to steal though. Losing the ability to use self-checkout has left me with less of a desire to buy items in bulk. I might look into using the pick-up option in the parking lot. Maybe I will watch a movie in my car until an employee makes time to come out with my items. I've never used the pick-up option, but I will update my review when I do use it. It sounds like Walmart wants their employees to do the shopping for us entirely. Which I personally don't mind but it sounds counterproductive? I feel like Walmart would lose revenue because people do not want to buy more than 15 items. People that use the pick or delivery option won't be buying random stuff all around the store. I Walmart either wants you to wait in long lines or add items to your cart online. Who wants to wait in line for 10-20+ minutes with people who have full carts? read more

They keep a lot of overly expired items in the shelf. If a person is not paying attention they will buy and eat, and or cook these items. I've seen items from May 2024, March/May 2025. March 2026 on the shelf. No telling how old the other items I didn't even look at. I've ordered curbside and have gotten very old items. I believe it's common sense to look at dates. They have given me week old expired milk. There's no way expired items should still be at the original price if you are going to have it on the shelf for the customers to buy. All of them workers in there and none of them are in charge in making sure the items on the shelf are up-to-date. Donuts start to get webs on it when they get a little over the expiration date they have donuts in there two to three months old. Please pay tension to the dates on your food when you go into these stores because obviously the workers do not. I decided to try this store out as I usually frequent the Walmart Supercenter store on Rose Avenue. The idea of a smaller store that specializes in groceries seems great, as it offers a much more convenient alternative. Unfortunately, I found that this store has a much more limited inventory even for grocery items, so I was unable to pick up many of the things that I really wanted to buy. They do have the same prices as the larger stores, so if they do carry what you want to buy, it's not a bad place. I, for one, will be going back to the big store. read more

The one thing that surprises me about this place is how friendly and the staff are to their customers. It feels like a real neighbor store. There always seems to be regulars coming through who know the staff well. The shelves are pretty well stocked and clean. They have all the basic needs without all the craziness you'd expect from a regular Walmart store. I like being able to order online and pick up in store. The pick up area is on the left hand side of store. There's also a redbox too. Parking is a bit tight especially when it's busy. However if you want to save some money you can get most of your basic shopping needs done here. read more

Since "Curbside Delivery" is new to this area, I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered from the Walmart app & I selected a time to reserve my groceries. The app is user friendly & very simple to navigate. I find "Curbside Delivery" to be super convenient & it saves me, at minimum, an hour -to-an-hour & a half of shopping. They kept my groceries cold to preserve freshness and/or frozen goods. They even sent me a notification to approve or decline a substitute replacement of an out-of-stock item. I look forward to using this service at Walmart again! read more

Love and die by the clearance section! I enjoy how easy it is to get in and out of this location, especially compared to a full on Walmart. My absolute favorite part of the store? The high tech water machine! I felt like I was a mechanical engineer as I maneuvered the water to the exact height I needed the spout to be before starting to dispense water. Obviously my second favorite would have to be the clearance aisle. Sometimes it is loaded with the best, most useful items, and other times it is pretty obscure or hardly offers a discount worth noting. In my experience, even when the lines are long, their employees work quickly to get things moving and are pretty good about opening more check stands when possible. Same with the fruit/meat sections, two parts of stores that I think are either absolutely fresh or are sketchy and disgusting. The products always look fresh, like they have been tended to and are well labeled so you don't have to guess what they will ring up to at the register. read more

I needed to get oil change supplies one evening. And picked up gallon of oil to read the info, I was holding it against my mid section not realizing that it got oil on my jacket from a crack in the container. Went through the whole process with the manager and whoever pays out that stuff in some other state, a couple weeks later Turned me down with a form paper. That said wasn't their fault because they didn't know . How am I supposed to know it had a leak? Unfortunately this is the closest Neighborhood Walmart to me, there aren't many other cheap choices. But with cheap prices comes lack of service and lack of selection. Every night around 6 when rush hour hits this store, somehow they only ever have 2 registers open and lines with about 10-15 people in each. On top of that they often, as in 3 out of 4 times do not have the items I need. I still don't even know why I ever come here. The carts are never put back so you have to go searching in the dark parking lot for them. The cashiers want to die standing here so they go as slow as possible knowing the line will never end anyway. It's like idiocracy over here. How sad the state of this store has become. read more

Asked a worker to help me and he said just push the button like I didn't push it already I would get if it was busy but it wasn't. You always have everything I'm shopping for with current expiration dates posted. Plus your stockers are all so very helpful and knowledgeable where whatever your looking for is located. BUT! Always hard to find a shopping cart. I was told you don't lock them up at night so they are stolen every night. When u have to purchase more that expense is put back to consumers. Just lock them up indoors at closing. Also, Ismeralda checker. Needs training on how to bag groceries. Veggies one bag, freezer stuff one bag, bakery products one bag with the eggs, etc etc. Also let the customer know that there's last bag on top of bag holder while she's ringing up another customer. The workers have become rude and insensitive and I fault management for their poor leadership. I feel like I am a soldier in a military battalion. It's convenient because it's just a quick drive from home, but I don't know if I'd make this my regular market. It's always clean and well stocked with plenty of products. When it comes to the checkout stands, there's a bit of an issue. There are plenty of stands, but the few times I've shopped there, there are only 2 stands open with long lines at each of them. Maybe open a third stand once there's 3+ customers waiting in each line? The one change I wish they could make (but I know they can't) is expanding their parking lot size. This place sucks! Really bad customer service. Every time I go to try and reload my card I have an issue. First they change the hours at the service desk. I went in the morning always before work to load my card. Never an issue. Then, I show up and they say that they don't open until 7:00am. Then how come they were open earlier before? Same thing at night. Anytime at night I would load my card. Then all of a sudden, they are closed at 8:00pm. It seems like they just make up their hours. The staff here are terrible also. I would go to the service desk to load my card and they would give me a hard time and send me to the cashiers. So I would wait in line only for the cashiers to say that they cannot load a card. If you can avoid this place, I would. Nobody is helpful here and they all act pissed-off. read more

I stopped in here a couple days ago on the off chance they had a cat carrier I could buy. In fairness I had gone to the Walmart Website and it said I could "pickup today" from this location but when I arrived and saw it was a Neighborhood Market I thought my chances dim of that being true. While they didn't have cat carriers, they did have a whole aisle of pet food and pet supplies, which was more than I expected from what's basically a grocery store. This store has always been one of the worst managed in the area but, their latest stunt is a little unbelievable. While most stores are attempting to make it easier for customers to quickly get in out while maintaining social distancing, this store made that impossible today. The line for the 2 cashiers was about 30-40 carts long (impossible to social distance) due to the fact that the other employees were busy rearranging the store so no one could find anything (also making shoppers wander aimlessly through the store). While this practice has been a staple of retail management to force shoppers to spend more time browsing through the store, now is certainly not the time to be more concerned with keeping folks in the store over the health of your customers. read more

I've never reviewed a grocery store before, but this Walmart Neighborhood Market deserves five stars. I'm a frequent patron of various other grocery stores, but you can't beat the prices or convenience of this Walmart. They are open late at night, they offer a variety of local, organic, and unusual produce (nopales, plantains, jicama, multiple types of oranges, etc.), and all the employees I walk by greet me with a smile and ask if I need any help. Excellent customer service. I see that other reviewers complain about the lines, but I go around 10pm at night and there are rarely any other customers, and all other grocery stores are closed. read more

I like to go to the Walmart neighborhood market when I need to grab a few things and don't want to deal with a large supermarket. They have a descent selection of groceries and the lines aren't too bad. The prices are reasonable. It's usually quiet except on weekends and right after work. I try to go in the mornings and it's nice. My only complaint is the parking is awful especially at lunch and weekends. read more

BE CAREFUL! And Check your receipt!!!!! Today just blew my mind. The girl ringing me up charges me twice for an item of $18, I noticed as it happened and I Also noticed she knew exactly what she did. She decided to ignore it and not fix the issue. She gives me the receipt along with the change. And says "have a nice day" It was then I look at her and tell her she double charged me. She responds "I know" completely careless and still doesn't offer to fix the issue! I requested for my money to be returned and she sends me to customer service. If I didn't bring it up they would've kept the money. I go to the customer service area get helped it by the "manager" which btw was just as incompetent as her. I explain to him what happens and he says "okay" no apology NOTHING!!! I finally called and spoke to Carrie the assistant manager. Which was beyond helpful and offered me Walmart courtesy card, I did not accept. I am not looking for anything free I'm looking for good customer service. And not be treaded so poorly. read more

Been here a few times and it's pretty great. Food and products are definitely the lowest price around. You get all the pricing of Walmart without all the craziness. Every time I've been here the lines are short and move quick. It's never been too crowded and I'm always able to find help on the sales floor when I need it. The produce section is pretty decent. Food looks fresh and the price is right. The ready made pizzas near the produce section look pretty bad and we bought the cheesy bread and thought it was disgusting. We also bought frozen French fries and when we took them home the quality was pretty bad. I definitely say buy products your familiar with lest you be disappointed. The fresh roasted chickens are much smaller than the ones at Costco but are decent. Overall, I really recommend! read more
