The burgers were wonderful, the reuben was huge, and Lisa is still the most fabulous server EVER, ANYWHERE!!!

The 1971 pizza sounded really good with all the various meats and toppings so I decided on that. But something I didn't anticipate was just how much excessive oil from the pepperoni, Italian sausage, and Canadian bacon there would be. My initial thought was wishing the crust was crisper as it was already soft right when I started eating it. And it only got softer and wetter the longer it was out. I will give them credit though, their house made red pizza sauce was honestly so good!! I loved it!! The flavors tasted like something you'd get from a high end pizzeria. But with the crust just completely saturated with oil so quickly, it wasn't really a satisfying meal. I'm hoping I can toss a few leftover slices in our air fryer and maybe that will crisp up the bottom to give it a more satisfying texture and taste. And I'd be curious to try just a cheese pizza and see if there is still excessive oil on that or if it's any different than the 1971 with the huge amount of toppings. I feel like this pizza has so much potential too! But unless you enjoy super oily, super wet crusted pizzas, I would skip them.

We have become regulars at the Ram, both dining in and for carry out, so it's time to write a review! I think the Ram reviews here have resulted in less stars than they deserve. Food - our usual go-too is the 1971 Classic pizza, which is always delicious. We like the crust, which is made with beer, the sauce is tasty and just saucy enough, the cheese and toppings are plentiful and flavorful. We also like the pickle chips and wings. We recently tried their burgers and were happy to find that they fill the burger void in Lacey. The patties appeared to be hand-pressed and are flavorfully seasoned. Ours were cooked medium-rare as ordered. They have a nice flavor of flame-grilled and were nice & juicy. The only downside are the buns, which don't hold up well to the burgers & toppings. We chose fries & fry sauce for our sides. The potatoes are hand cut and tasted really good. Beer - the Ram's $9.99 growler fills are the best deal in town. They have a good variety of beers and we always find one we like. Service - the servers we have had have all been friendly and attentive. When the kitchen gets backed up it can take awhile to get your food, so we sit in the bar, enjoy a beer and watch sports while we wait. Ambience - definitely a sports bar vibe. Lots of TVs to watch whatever game/team you want. They also have a patio that is open seasonally.

Great Happy Hour deals at the bar from 3-5pm on weekdays! Seat yourself and our waitress came right away and came to check on us frequently. The Grapefruit of Wrath was fruity and refreshing, and the house margaritas really hit the spot. The pickle chips were seasoned and crispy with a zesty dipping sauce. The grilled chicken Caesar was the perfect size. The carnitas tacos with rice and beans were only $8 and it was so much food! Great vibe, good food, cold drinks, definitely come for the happy hour!

In the area for the evening and stoped at Ram Restaurant & Brewery, there was 8 of us on Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant was not to busy, service was extremely slofor being what it looked like a slow night for the restaurant. As far as food goes I ordered the Mac & Cheese burger and it had great flavor to it. The restaurant was very relaxed and welcoming.

Hubby wanted to do date night and left it up to me on where we should go to eat. I'm all about trying new places we haven't been to if we can so I'm glad we visited Ram for dinner! The food was so good, the place was nice and the service was wonderful. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and led to a booth (we love sitting in booths together). Our waitress Sam was nice and patient with us while we were deciding what we'd like to eat (whenever we visit a place we've never been to before we take awhile to look over the menu but Sam was extremely patient and gave us time and answered all questions we had to help us narrow down our decisions). Their menu has a really good amount of options to choose from. My husband ordered the Hefeweizen beer and really liked the taste of it. For our food, we decided to go with some mac and cheese to share (we added pork belly, sausage, and bacon; each meat add on is a couple bucks each), my husband got the Santa Fe Rodeo Smash Burger (unfortunately they were out of smash patties but they gave him wagyu which he always likes), and I got the Focaccia Club with tater tots (small upcharge for upgrading to tots). Our food was so delicious, flavorful, plentiful in portion size and at just the right temperature. We were able to save a bit when the bill came since they offer military discount, thank you for supporting our service members! We'll definitely have to return here again in the future and bring some friends along.

First off, I apologize for taking no photos of the food! We were greeted by a hostess who sort of set the mood of negativity. She sat us in the bar and when we asked to sit at the bar, practically threw the menus at us, causing me to drop some of the menu items. BUT thankfully the dinner was saved by Trevon, he was a fantastic bartender! Easy to spark up relatable convo, suggest items and drinks. My husband LOVED the house blonde. I really am thankful for the low carb and healthy items they provide. I REALLY appreciate the burger side items as fries, chips or salad instead of $2 extra for a salad. These things matter for another visit! All in all great experience. PS, the hostess never said bye to us, she was on her phone the whole time. Maybe not her area to shine. We will be back for the food!

Waited 50 minutes for three apps: buffalo boneless wings, nachos with chicken, and Cobb salad. Ordered at the bar. Asked the waitress about the order after 40 minutes and her response was, "I just checked with my coworker." Get this--nachos are charred waiting under the heat lamp. Cobb salad? Awful. Wings? Nowhere to be found. I spoke to the manager and was refunded the cost of the food. He invited me to take the food home. Best he could do was refund the meal & offer me a free app. Get this--no chicken on the nachos. Is this how you do business? Is this worth waiting 50 minutes for?

This is actual brewery so they sell their beer can packs to go, as well as some Merch (apparels etc). Newest second location (Narrows Tasting Room) recently opened on Proctor district as well. If I were to get crazy picky, tasting of 1.0oz beer is still going to cost you a dollar. There's no "taking a sip" to see if you wanna commit to ordering a full pint, so just keep that in mind. My favorite here is Narrows Lager and Summer Lager is great too, and if you're an IPA drinker, Tempest IPA is a good option. They also do not prep food here so they got a Chex Mix + Pub Mix snack for $4.00 for about a small bowl, and some charcuterie boards. You can order some food downstairs/next door from Boathouse19 and or bring a small snack bag to nibble on. Parking is ample but can get filled very quickly, especially during Summer time when lots of wedding and other events are happening at the Narrows Marina warehouse, and I also see some food trucks parked by exclusively for those events from time to time. Lastly, they have non-alcoholic beers too! It's not their own, but I've seen them pour "Bero" canned non-alcoholic beer, so you do not need to be a beer drinker to enjoy the space here, but this place is 21+ only, which is another reason I love it here. Oh and last but not least, they have several rooms for event rentals, so I've seen many retirement, birthday parties and other events hosted in those rooms. Pretty cool! The room next to the bar area can be a bit noisy because of the exhaust fan running that is connected to the brewery room. All in all, a great brewery tucked in on the Narrows Marina that's worth a visit if you're in the area, and you might find me here too, just hanging out on a Summer evening : )

My wife and I had been looking forward to trying Hoh River Brewery since we moved to the area a few months ago. The South Sound's brewery game is *weak,* and Hoh seemed promising. So on a rainy day, we loaded up the family and some card games and headed to Tumwater for some beer and good times. We walked in at 2:00 pm on the dot on a Saturday. Literally no one else was patronizing the place at the time. As it happened, neither would we. We were immediately informed that the place is 21 and over only. Look, 21+ establishments are fine. Whether it's for compliance reasons or just because the owners want a spot free from kids for adults to relax in a quiet atmosphere, I get it. I don't think it's a smart business decision if you can avoid it, but I get it. My *problem* isn't with the policy. My problem is their lack of transparency about it. It should be on their website front and center, not under the "when to find us" tab with their hours. They should also, at the *very* least, have a sign on the door like a normal 21+ establishment so you don't even walk in with kids. We didn't see a sign before or after entering, and if there just had been some warning, I wouldn't be writing this. As an example, here is the text from an event on Facebook: "Heads up, Tumwater and Olympia -- we're heading your way! Mark your calendars for 12/10 and join us for our pre-order pick-up event where we bring the best of our bakery to you! Swing by to pick up your order and indulge in a wide selection of refreshing lagers, delightfully smooth sours, and more from our friends at Hoh River Brewery " (This was I believe written by a guest vendor, but just an example of when mentioning age restrictions wouldn't hurt.) Here is from their FB page header: "Craft brewery in Tumwater with Hoh River connections. Combined taproom with a distillery." On their business website, there is no mention of age restrictions until you get to the "when to find us" page. There are plenty of family-friendly breweries/taprooms in the area (we went to Triceratops Brewing after being rejected here), so it isn't weird for us to expect that here. And again, I'd be fine with them being 21+ only IF THEY WERE UP FRONT ABOUT IT SO I DIDN'T DRIVE 20 MINUTES TO GET THERE! This review is a heads up to readers, and a plea to the owners to be more up front about the restrictions on Facebook and their website. It's naive at best and rude and idiotic at worst.

When I initially walked in, it wasn't too busy, but it filled up quickly while I was still figuring out how to order. They use a kiosk system where you choose dine-in or takeout, and it's nicr that each menu item had photos and ingredient descriptions so it made it way easier to decide, especially for our first visit. The space itself is small and quaint with a couple tables, but full of lovely art. There's lots of cute anime and Japanese-themed decor, including figurines, plushies, and artwork, giving the place such a cozy, cutesy aesthetic. I also noticed they might be hiring, based on the sign at the entrance. I came here because my cousin-in-law (who lives in upper Washington) mentioned the place, and I needed a redemption meal after being disappointed by another chicken spot recently. Katsu Burger definitely delivered! The burgers here aren't your typical American-style burgers. They don't taste as greasy and sub cabbage instead of lettuce, similar to garnish for a tonkatsu plate. And surprisingly, the photos on the kiosk actually match what you get (no false advertising here!). The employee behind the counter was super kind and helped guide us through the ordering process. I don't think they take cash so maybe that's why orders are placed through the kiosk. For food: My son ordered the Tokyo Tower burger as-is, and I tried the Umami Burger with light cabbage (not a huge fan of crunchy water veggies like lettuce/cabbage/etc.). Both were AMAZING. I have heard of tonkatsu but I had no idea what beef katsu was before this. Thought it was just a regular beef patty, but wow.. it was crispy, flavorful, and just overall delicious. We ordered takeout and didn't even get home for about 30 minutes, but the food was still warm enough to enjoy without reheating. Portion-wise, my burger was perfect: filling but manageable (i think i made the right choice with light cabbage). My son's Tokyo Tower was massive (almost too big for him to handle xD), but we both agreed everything tasted incredible. I was tempted to try a bento box, but I knew I wouldn't finish it if I was already ordering a katsu burger. Next time though! My son already has his eye on the enormous Mt. Fuji burger, so we'll definitely be back. Parking is decent, though it can get busy during the day since it's near a gym and other businesses. Overall, if you're in the Lacey area, you HAVE to try this Katsu Burger at least once. It looks like they have about 8 other locations too in the other towns so if you're not in Lacey, there still might be one nearby you. The burgers are absolutely the star of the show :) I'm already looking forward to our next visit!
