Definitely a cool spot to grab a beer and support your local hose draggers . Service was great and they offered a decent selection of beers. We arrived just after 3pm on Friday and within an hour the place got busy. Will definitely be back.

This is a favorite brewery where we can enjoy the great beers, relax, watch a game or play a game. We really enjoyed our most recent beers - Third Alarm is a potent beer (9.9% ABV) that goes down easy. We ended up bringing home a couple crowlers. Flights give you a chance to sample 5 brews. They have pretzels & chips at the bar, but there are often food trucks on site. I definitely recommend Top Rung Brewery!

Local business that supports our men and women in uniform. Top rung offers a variety of beverages made locally inside their establishment. They offer food, live music on certain time and season. Place is kept clean and organized. They have outdoor seating with heaters. Growlers, refill and beer To-Go are available. Overall a great Gem tucked away in Laceys business, distribution hub.

Fabulous brews with enough notes to write a opera. We've been to hundreds of breweries in the last six years (it's what we do) and it's rare to find such care and ingenuity. We loved the flight and fell for Stx, a deeply satisfying IPA with an ABV of 4.8 yet it sings with a stratosphere of delights. An epiphany: big flavor that doesn't leave you toasted. Who'da thunk!? Thanks Top Rung!

Top Rung was a fun place to visit. The wooded decor and firefighter themed design made for a cozy space. I met Madeleine, who was working the taps. She gave a nice overview of the beers, and I opted for a flight. For $9, you selected 5 beers that were 4 ounce pours. I lean towards lagers and ales. So, I picked the lager, festbier, pilsner, red amber, and stout. My favorite ended up being the pilsner, which surprised me. It was smooth like a lager, had no bitter after taste, and had a little bit of a honey overtone... very enjoyable! They don't serve food. But, they do have a small binder with local places that do takeout or delivery. You can also order Uber Eats and or bring your own food. I look forward to going back to try some other beers.

Good selection by currently active firefighters. I like the atmosphere. Even better when there is a food truck around. I will be coming back.

Want great craft beer? Head over to the Tap Room at Top Rung Brewing in Hawk's Prairie, located near the corner of Hogum Bay Rd & 31st Ave. It's a great place to meet up with friends. The Tap Room doesn't have food service, but on Thursday & Friday nights a Food Truck is parked outside near the patio. You are welcome to bring your own food or have it delivered. My favorite craft brews: 1) Heavy Irons Double IPA 9% ABV / 100 IBU 2) My Dog Scout Stout 6% ABV / 50 IBU 3) Three Sixty Red 5.8% ABV / 34 IBU

Nice and chill brewery in Lacey. I really enjoyed the Lacey Lager and the Newport. Great flavors to enjoy and to relax either inside with their huge TV or outside when the weather is nice. Good service and family friendly. It was considerate of the owners to offer a baby changing area in both restrooms and it was fairly clean. They allow outside food in their establishment. They do have Wicked Pies Pizza served on 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Also, every Thursday and Saturday from 4pm-8pm. Didn't get a chance to try the pizza, maybe next time. I like how they decorated the place and how they're patriotic. Definitely coming back to hangout and enjoy more of their craft beers.

    Pretty chill place.

First time here. Parking was annoying but beer was good. Might be coming back here to fill up my growler!

I always would go to their original location when visiting the Aberdeen area. I have been to this location twice now and both experiences were awesome. The first time here Steve and I split a stout which totally hit the spot. The second visit was just as spot hitting when we got the Rongo New Zealand Pilsner. Flavor features with this beer are crisp and perhaps a hint of orange. I am very excited to see New Zealand Pilsners becoming more common as the first time I had one I was totally impressed and it's great to see this beer type steadily getting more popularity. This is another great tenant to the Tumwater Craft District Market. You can easily spend an afternoon grazing off of the good food and drinks at this location and Mount Olympus really adds more of the fun to that.

There's so much seating in front, inside at the bar, inside at the nook rooms (it's a house converted to a tap room), as well are more outside seating on the side and in the back! The barstools are lovely and heavy. So sturdy and comfortable for being iron and wood. The service is always friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions and will go out of their way to try and locate a beer if you were looking for something specific (they may just have more in stock in their storage area so don't be afraid to ask if you want a beer that you don't see in the coolers for can/bottle purchase). We have been loyal customers of The RAM since 2019 and regularly visit the Lake Stevens and Marysville locations. We genuinely enjoy the food, atmosphere, and service, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. Upon arrival, we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated, exactly as the host advised. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, both of which arrived within a reasonable timeframe. From the time we sat down until we received our drinks and appetizer was roughly 15 minutes. After that, however, the experience quickly deteriorated. It took another 15 minutes or more before our server returned to take our entrée orders. The server apologized for the delay, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the delays only became worse. We then waited approximately 45 additional minutes for our main entrées, nobody checked in on our table. By the time the food arrived, our patience had run out and what should have been a special Father's Day meal had become frustrating and exhausting. I immediately asked for the bill and boxes. To make matters worse, not all of our food was delivered at the same time. We continued waiting for our pizza, and when it finally arrived, the center was soggy, undercooked, and literally falling apart. At that point, we chose not to send it back because we simply wanted to leave and salvage what remained of our family's celebration. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication and leadership throughout the entire experience. When I asked why service had been so slow, our server explained that several employees had called out. While staffing shortages can happen and are understandable, the responsibility for managing those situations falls on leadership, not on the frontline staff. The restaurant did removed our appetizer from the bill and provided two burger vouchers, but that does not address the larger issue. Despite obvious service issues throughout the restaurant, no manager ever came to our table to explain the delays, apologize for the experience, or demonstrate any concern for my family who was being affected. The only acknowledgment we received was from our server even though she didn't check on us or give us updates on our food. The real failure here was not the staffing shortage itself--it was the management response to it. If leadership knew they were significantly understaffed, guests should have been informed before being seated or before placing orders. A simple announcement from the host explaining that food service was running substantially behind would have allowed customers to make an informed decision about whether to stay or dine elsewhere. Instead, my family was left waiting without information, while expectations remained unchanged. What made the situation even more confusing was watching a larger party seated after us receive their food, eat, and leave before our entrées were ever served. That only reinforced the perception that the restaurant was not effectively managing its operations during the shift or worse, our family was less important than other families seated there which would be heartbreaking if it were true. This is directed at the leadership team that failed to properly support an obviously understaffed staff and failed to communicate honestly with its customers. And making my family feel very less important than others. I have always enjoyed The RAM and hope this was an isolated incident. However, on one of the busiest dining days of the year, management's lack of preparation, communication, and customer care turned what should have been a memorable Father's Day celebration into a disappointing experience.

My wife and I had been looking forward to trying Hoh River Brewery since we moved to the area a few months ago. The South Sound's brewery game is *weak,* and Hoh seemed promising. So on a rainy day, we loaded up the family and some card games and headed to Tumwater for some beer and good times. We walked in at 2:00 pm on the dot on a Saturday. Literally no one else was patronizing the place at the time. As it happened, neither would we. We were immediately informed that the place is 21 and over only. Look, 21+ establishments are fine. Whether it's for compliance reasons or just because the owners want a spot free from kids for adults to relax in a quiet atmosphere, I get it. I don't think it's a smart business decision if you can avoid it, but I get it. My *problem* isn't with the policy. My problem is their lack of transparency about it. It should be on their website front and center, not under the "when to find us" tab with their hours. They should also, at the *very* least, have a sign on the door like a normal 21+ establishment so you don't even walk in with kids. We didn't see a sign before or after entering, and if there just had been some warning, I wouldn't be writing this. As an example, here is the text from an event on Facebook: "Heads up, Tumwater and Olympia -- we're heading your way! Mark your calendars for 12/10 and join us for our pre-order pick-up event where we bring the best of our bakery to you! Swing by to pick up your order and indulge in a wide selection of refreshing lagers, delightfully smooth sours, and more from our friends at Hoh River Brewery " (This was I believe written by a guest vendor, but just an example of when mentioning age restrictions wouldn't hurt.) Here is from their FB page header: "Craft brewery in Tumwater with Hoh River connections. Combined taproom with a distillery." On their business website, there is no mention of age restrictions until you get to the "when to find us" page. There are plenty of family-friendly breweries/taprooms in the area (we went to Triceratops Brewing after being rejected here), so it isn't weird for us to expect that here. And again, I'd be fine with them being 21+ only IF THEY WERE UP FRONT ABOUT IT SO I DIDN'T DRIVE 20 MINUTES TO GET THERE! This review is a heads up to readers, and a plea to the owners to be more up front about the restrictions on Facebook and their website. It's naive at best and rude and idiotic at worst.
