I really love going to this place. The atmosphere is good and service is usually pretty good. A bit pricey but I have never had cause to be disappointed until tonight. I used a delivery service to get Mac &Cheese w/blackened chicken and a kid's fish & chips. Fish and chips delivered as if I was in houses. A little greasy but hot flakey fish with a crispy batter. One filet and a nice portion of nothing special fries. This meal was devoured so they got it right, no complaints. The Mac &Cheese was cooked well and still had a good chew to it. The sauce was creamy and well done. This dish was seasoned nicely and finished with seasoned breadcrumbs. Can't say anything about the blackened chicken because it did not make it in the dish. Too bad. As I used a delivery service, it wasn't like I could remind the server that I ordered it and have it brought out so all I got was a tasty pasta dish. Kudos to the delivery service for kicking back the up charge for the chicken. It is not their responsibility to get the order right or to check all is there. That falls to the restaurant and they failed. I will still patronize in house but not sure how I feel about getting take out from them again. read more

Basically shredded Buffalo chicken, cheese and Jalapeños, seep fried in flour and probably corn flakes, served with ranch. Amazing! Husband went to order for takeout and the staff ignored him, it took three tries to place an order, and even then staff was so disorganized that he had to go back to get missing items. Staff either didn't care, or in the bartender's case was too busy flirting with a female guest to help anyone else. And to top it all off, instead of a pizza box my pizza was crammed into two take out boxes. Would not recommend this place and will not return. I came in here last night with my husband and his parents. They weren't terribly busy, so we didn't have to wait. Parking is terrible. The lot is full of giant potholes. Come right before you need an alignment on your car, but don't come immediately following a new alignment. Lol. And be prepared for a walk to the actual restaurant. It seemed like we had to walk completely around the building before we made it to the door. We were immediately seated and promptly served when we arrived. Our server was Janette, and she did great. The restaurant itself seems clean and spacious. Not much in the way of decor, but it is functional. Bland is the word that comes to mind. Food was alright. Definitely nothing to write home about. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and the first thing I noticed was the powdered Parmesan cheese garnish. It wasn't even fresh parm. I ordered the French dip sandwich, and it was good. Meat was tender, but the bread wasn't grilled or toasted. I also had to ask for horseradish, which was violently bitter. My husband ordered the sergeant pepper burger, and it was slathered in sauce. Sauce tasted good, but that was the only thing I tasted, and with one bite felt like I needed a rain poncho to eat it. No ketchup was ever offered or brought for the fries. Apparently you have to ask for the most basic condiments. My father in-law went for fish and chips, which looked pretty good. Mother in-law ordered tacos with beans and rice. Rice was pale and had corn added in. It looked like it severely lacked flavor, and she said the same thing. Beans were half-mashed and looked like something very similar to three day old baby poop. They have daily "specials" which really aren't special. Thursday is a sirloin steak for $14.99, $4 off the normal price. But you have to order a side of veggies if you want them for an extra $4, but is included in the regular price. So their version of special is literally just removing a portion of the meal and adjusting the price to reflect that. That's like buying a sweater "on sale" only to find the designer cut the sleeves off first. All in all it was edible and filling. But certainly nothing I would rave about. Would I return? Not on my own. If the in-laws bring us on a return visit, so be it. I wouldn't say no. But I wouldn't come back by my own choosing. read more

Every time I drive by The Ram in Salem, I always think to myself: "How come we don't go there anymore?" It use to be good. Upon my most recent visit. I remembered why. It's not the quality of food that they put out, because honestly, it's pretty good...Or at worst, okay. The service and urgency of the staff is what makes the experience not so enjoyable. My wife ordered a Bloody Mary early on and she had mentioned the bartender had to prepare new cheese cubes that accompanied the drink. We said that was cool but then we saw her loitering around the bar multiple times and my wife never received her cheese. Small thing to complain about I know, but still, it's the principal. If you say you're going to bring it, bring it. Then don't proceed to ignore our table for most of the visit... Our server, Delilah (not sure of spelling) did not once ask if the wife and I wanted refills on our drinks and only checked up on us when it was almost time for the check. I lost count of how many times she walked. I wanted another beer. We tried to get her attention on 3 separate occasions to no avail. I understand maybe it was an off day, but the table she was helping next to us was receiving much more attentive service. It was a bigger group. Go figure. Honestly think the only reason she came around is because my wife got tired of waiting and put her head on my shoulder and she happened to notice. When she came around we asked for boxes and wanted tried to order another drink but she walked away. Ok, final straw. We out then. The gal who initially took our drink orders when first seated, I wish we had her serving us instead. She seemed on it with her patrons before she was off. I have one rule for service, just ask us if we want a refill. That's it. I left a tip more than I should have, but it is what it is. Brough my boyfriend and his family here for lunch to celebrate his 30th birthday. We were not greeted and signs directing us where to sit where not properly put out so we decided to seat our selves after waiting for a few minutes. The bar manager was instantly irritated and in a mood at us for sitting in the wrong area. The birthday boy ordered a rare steak and they served him a medium well-done steak. His dad ordered a pizza and didn't get it until everyone was done eating and they gave it to him in a to-go box. My Ruben's bread was served to me soggy. The bar manger and my boyfriend got into it after he rudely spoke to his mom over a conflict with our ticket. The bar manager then called the cops on my boyfriend after my bf let him know he's a fu*#ing horrible manager. The guy behind us waited like 15 minutes for a piece of cake and finally walked out without it. The manager was behind the bar on his phone. The management and kitchen failed to provide a family dining experience. What happened to the old school Ram with great service and a fun place to gather in groups? One of the many stops on our road trip was this awesome little joint. We ordered the bacon Mac and cheese, street tacos and Buffalo boneless wings during their happy hour special. We also got a flight to try a few of their beers since we're not from around here. The Mac and cheese was very delicious , very creamy and the bacon was crunchy! Can't have flimsy bacon. The boneless wings had a nice spicy kick to them which I like. Most places say "spicy" but it never is, so glad they delivered! Don't worry we can't forget about the tacos, absolute deliciousness and very juicy. This place used to be awesome. I haven't been in a while but after last night, never again. I ordered a raspberry lemon drop, out came a regular lemon drop, whatever I drank it. I ordered another raspberry lemon drop to have it come out with a salted rim. Nasty, sent it back. Boyfriend ordered a regular burger and it was so salty he couldn't make it through half. Said the meat tasted like it was a frozen patty that was dipped in salt to cover the flavor. My boys ordered pizza with a side of apple sauce and corn dogs with fries. Out came pizza with fries (no applesauce) and corn dogs so burnt that they were inedible. Pizza was good. The fries were soggy and so over salted my oldest wouldn't eat them. I ordered the blackened chicken cob. The lettuce was slimy, wilted, and soft. My god, the chicken was the absolute worst. A reheated piece of grilled meat dipped in powdery spices and served that way. Not even cooked after spiced-straight powder on meat. I sent it back (the only time I've ever sent a meal back). Ordered a grilled Caesar salad. Same frozen and reheated chicken, no spices. Wilted romaine and for the Parmesan they used grated parm, like you would use on a pizza. Croutons were stale and cheap. Nope. I ate the chicken bc I had two drinks and needed some food in my stomach. We also ordered armadillo eggs that were super over fried and the inside was so overcooked it resembled a hush puppy. Couldn't finish them. Seriously, what happened? The menu is different, the food quality is beyond trash, not a fresh ingredient in sight. It used to be SO good. It also took 45 minutes for our meals to come out. Our waitress was great but knew how unhappy we all were with our meals. Stopped by after work. This was a place I used to go weekly to sit at the bar on weekends, have a beer, and watch sports. The food was good and the environment just right. I haven't been in a while because last time I got dinner I was not impressed considering the rather top end pub food menu. I'm going to overuse !; so you are warned. I've just had two espressos and am feeling a bit enthusiastic. The bathroom was clean and the fries hot--but about half were fry morsels (less than my little finger-sized) so mew on those. It's odd that folks are proud of fresh-cut fries but don't think that sending out scraps is not something to be proud of. The service was and always has been top shelf--thank you management for hiring excellent team members! I got the happy hour nachos and they were better than I expected, although the middle was not quite hot and the cheese not melted. I think the process would be to put a layer under the broiler till it's hot, then repeat with the top layer. Lynette got fish and chips and eat every bit! So, rah for the excellence there. And they are battered not breaded--double rah! I got the Big Red IPA which tastes like an adult IPA and not some fruity citrusy POS that most places sell. Another rah! Just wanted to write this review in case the management from this restaurant reads it, yesterday I ordered lunch online, I ordered the bone-in wings, when I opened the box back at work, the food looked not very good, the carrots were old and brown, the celery was almost yellow and not crunchy and the wings were not that good either, I didn't finish the food and just threw it in the trash. I wished I had taken pictures but that really wasn't in my mind when I saw the food, I guess the disappointment completely distracted me and forgot to take pictures. The service was great, the food was good. We made 2 attempts to dine here. The first on a Friday night at 8 PM. It was packed and a long line. We had a very hangry 7 year old so we went elsewhere, we came back the next day around lunch time and was seated right away.tok many menus. They do have cradmft beers so there was a menu for that, a separate one for our basic drinks and lunch specials. Which didnt apply as it was a weekend. The main menu was simple with a variety of choices. I went with the Fungi burger. Mushrooms, cheese and onion sticks. It was pretty good. Not the best I've had but not terrible. I had the garlic fries with it, which were my favorite of the day. The kids wanted the pretzels with beer cheese soup for an appetizer. That was the best part of the meal. The beer cheese fondue was delicious and the pretzel was soft with good flavor and the perfect amount of salt. It's a sports bar type set up so there were a lot of TV's around. We went ahead and tipped 20% but didn't feel the waitress was even nice or cared about us. We were polite & kind. Toddlers waiting over an hour for food, they were doing pretty good.
