    The Contractor Classic Burger*
    Tina Q.

Hubby and I were in salem today stopped into Sparky's. The decor was fun and creative. The service they were really friendly and checked in with us to see how everything was and if we needed anything. contractor burger was good nothing I would crave to go back for but the fries I liked the seasonings had great flavor and perfectly crisp ,. All dips were tasty I got the ranch and blue cheese . Husband had pickled onions on his he said could not taste them so maybe need to brine a little longer . Beer was good I would recommend them to serve their beer in cold glasses . Wasn't blown away but it was worth a try :)

    Fries roulette

Food was great. We especially had fun with the massive fries roulette. You get 3 types of fries (regular, sweet potato and waffle) in a giant bowl. There are multiple sauces surrounding it that u can literally spin to see what u get, like a roulette! Great thing to share with friends along with the great beer and cocktail selection. Service was fast. The place has a rustic decor that's nice and modern.

I'm from Southern California, and I'm in love with this place. The food was amazing and the drinks were good. I had the Ahi Sandwich with garlic fries it was to die for. My kids had a giant pretzel, chicharone, pizza, and chicken sandwich. I had the most delicious bloodymary, but I also tried the local beer. Service was good. We had multiple staff help. Atmosphere is casual kids welcome, music playing. I'm definitely coming back when I visit my sister. It's a 18 hour drive from my house.

This was a wonderful stop for us after a day of hiking The Trail of Ten Falls! We were headed back to Bend for dinner but our road was closed so we headed into Salem for dinner and a drink. Sparky's has a TON of options for food; pizza, burgers, salads, wraps, allll kinds of appetizers, and even bowls, macaroni, and many more. I tried the Brussels sprouts and boneless chicken wings, and my friends had a burger and a wrap. (They will make any burger into a salad or a wrap, too, which I thought was awesome!). All of us enjoyed our food and got exactly what we ordered. We also each tried the pear cider on tap which was delicious. Sparky's has you order your food and drinks at the bar for limited contact, and are wearing masks/taking extra precautions which was appreciated. We also enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. Very nice place!

    $14.75 Chicken strips

Sparky's Chicken Strips. Menu says Five I only got four. Sweet potato fries, single layer and doesn't cover the bottom of the box. So, besides the discrepancy in advertised amount unless they use new math, the strips are relatively dry and over cooked with zero seasoning. They are absolutely flavorless. I paid $14.75 plus an additional $1 ($0.50 ea) for sauce. The sauce is okay but can't overcome the flavorless chicken. The breading sticks very well but again absolutely no flavor. Season the meat, season the breading and don't overcook this and you'll have some great strips. Lastly, use the old math 5 = 5 not 4.

Ever since relocating from Hawaii to Salem in July 2018, this has been our Go To place for "Date Night"...Ever since our first visit back in 2014, Sparky's has really evolved from a Growler Fill Stop & Home Brew Shop to a Full-Service Restaurant with their own In-House Brews... Their Service staff is super-friendly and efficient...they are very knowledgable about the 30+ brews on tap...There is ample parking both in front and in back of Sparky's...Huge props to the Kitchen Crew for the fabulous food coming out of the kitchen, I still haven't come across anything that I wouldn't recommend or try again...A definite must try for residents or visitors.

We stopped in for the first time in almost 2 years and so glad we did. My pizza was so delicious...I can't wait to go back. Workers were nice & it wasn't too crowded.

You order at the counter and then you get a number to take with you and place at whichever seat you choose. Drinks and food both came out really quick. I tried the bees knees which had honey, lavender, rosemary and simple syrup with a dash of black pepper. I did not see nor taste the black pepper but I was a huge fan of this drink. It wasn't overpowering in any of the flavors and the rosemary sprig made it look so cute. I got the breakfast potato hash with no tomatoes and it was a delicious and filling breakfast. The potatoes were so good my group wouldn't stop helping themselves to them. I added some hot sauce as it was in the dryer side but still really good. I also tried the matcha coconut scone. It had a pretty matcha green color but it was hard to taste the matcha or coconut and it was quite dry. Service was quick and friendly. The inside is really beautiful and we couldn't help but do a little photoshoot, so many fun backgrounds! Things to note: Restroom shared with other businesses close by businesses and metered street parking only.

Food service can be rough, but when there's no one in line not giving someone at least 30 seconds to check out the menu is really frustrating. It was really filling and a perfect portion of protein/natural sugars before my workout. The seating area had a nice warmth to it on a sunny afternoon. The outdoor seating looked welcoming too.

We reserved on Tock, and it was mostly full on a Friday night. Drinks: lots of local beers are available, but I went with the Pineapple Express: she warned it was spicy, and it indeed was (in a really good way). All of the food is done family style: - Clams Galicia: with tomato, chorizo, bacon broth. This broth as amazing. I literally drank it with a spoon - Pan con tomate: slightly different from classic preparation - more flavorful and heavier on the toppings - Salmorejo: tomato and bread puree, Serrano, jammy egg - like a creamy gazpacho - Grilled asparagus: with whipped ricotta and a cured egg yolk - Squid ink pasta: with hazelnuts, caramelized onions, peppers, and a runny egg yolk, a bit spicy. This dish was my favorite - Honey brined pork chop with a basque piperade sauce The servers were all great about checking in. I would definitely recommend the squid ink pasta and the clams if you're in town!

Music was excellent; audible but not intrusive. Comfy chairs. Lower lighting, well placed. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. I think our server's name was Mikayla; a gem. Attentive and observant but never intrusive. Drinks: my old fashioned was absolutely perfect and my husband's margarita was fine. Appetizers: beer cheese was well balanced and a bit runny, which I prefer over the library paste version some places serve. The elotes dip was a standout, mildly spicy, with lime in the cilantro, and warm, crispy chips. (Whatever is in their seasoning for chips and fries should be sold separately -- I wanted to try it on everything.) We probably should have stopped there, as the portions were abundant, but our mains were amazing. Smash burger was insanely juicy, nice and onion-y with a few Crunchy Brown Bits around the edges. The roll was fresh and tender, with a good crust; flavorful, not just a shingle. The fries were the best I've had in Salem. Get the garlic-thyme upgrade; you won't regret it. My ribeye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately they were out of both compound butters, apparently due to a busy Friday, but everything was well seasoned. The vegetable of the day was roasted Brussels sprouts with a sweet-and-salty sauce, almost like kettle corn; amazing. The outer leaves were caramelized without being burned, and the hearts were tender but not mushy. Crispy fried onions were perfect. Fried potatoes were fine, and enriched by their placement between the steak and the sprouts. The diners who came in before us were all smiles when they left, so it wasn't a fluke.
