This is a great spot for a Friday lunch with colleagues. I visit regularly with my coworkers and have consistently found the atmosphere to be comfortable and not overly crowded during lunchtime. In addition to the relaxed setting, the food is served hot and is generally very good. The bone-in wings are a standout and my usual go-to choice. The beer selection is also solid, and they offer growler fills, which is a nice option. The pizzas, however, could be improved. While some of my coworkers enjoy them, I personally am not a fan of thin-crust style. read more

Hubby and I were in salem today stopped into Sparky's. The decor was fun and creative. The service they were really friendly and checked in with us to see how everything was and if we needed anything. contractor burger was good nothing I would crave to go back for but the fries I liked the seasonings had great flavor and perfectly crisp ,. All dips were tasty I got the ranch and blue cheese . Husband had pickled onions on his he said could not taste them so maybe need to brine a little longer . Food was great. We especially had fun with the massive fries roulette. You get 3 types of fries (regular, sweet potato and waffle) in a giant bowl. There are multiple sauces surrounding it that u can literally spin to see what u get, like a roulette! Great thing to share with friends along with the great beer and cocktail selection. Drove an hour to come here, had the garlic parm wings and a burger. First the good, the sauces were great, had the honey mustard, blue cheese and ranch. The hm and bc sauces were really great the ranch had dill in it not a fan of that but it was homemade so I appreciate that. The garlic parm wings were decent I ate all 6. The bad the burger was beyond terrible, the meat tasted like fish and it had a fishy smell as well, that was a huge bummer bc dinner was $40 I would've been happy to eat at Carls Jr for much less. read more

My husband and I came here on a whim and we're so glad we did! I had their quesadilla special and my husband had their pesto Mac and cheese and they were both delicious. My kids had a giant pretzel, chicharone, pizza, and chicken sandwich. I had the most delicious bloodymary, but I also tried the local beer. Service was good. We had multiple staff help. Beer was good, food left a lot to be desired. Chicken tenders quantity was good but breading was super thick and dense. Fries were good. Taco Pizza was ok but a bit bland. Wife said crust was solid though. Kid liked her burger, normal burger with bacon. She liked the sweet potato fries more than the regular fries. This was a wonderful stop for us after a day of hiking The Trail of Ten Falls! We were headed back to Bend for dinner but our road was closed so we headed into Salem for dinner and a drink. Sparky's has a TON of options for food; pizza, burgers, salads, wraps, allll kinds of appetizers, and even bowls, macaroni, and many more. I tried the Brussels sprouts and boneless chicken wings, and my friends had a burger and a wrap. (They will make any burger into a salad or a wrap, too, which I thought was awesome!). All of us enjoyed our food and got exactly what we ordered. We also each tried the pear cider on tap which was delicious. I took my daughter and grand children to dinner on Tuesday evening and ended up in the middle of a Republican "Coffee meeting" the presenter had a slide deck, microphone and his voice boomed through he establishment. He had candidates for local school boards there to speak. We couldn't even talk the ruckus was so loud. The speaker expounded the view that ending the department of education wouldn't impact schools much and would open up the opportunity for families to send their kids to private schools. They also discussed book banning. The attendees filled the main space in the restaurant ordered very little, and obstructed movement of the staff and other patrons. I will likely never go back to this restaurant. Such meetings are not something that should be occurring in a restaurant with a loud speaker forcing other patrons to listen to their political opinions. read more

Sparky's Chicken Strips. Menu says Five I only got four. Sweet potato fries, single layer and doesn't cover the bottom of the box. So, besides the discrepancy in advertised amount unless they use new math, the strips are relatively dry and over cooked with zero seasoning. They are absolutely flavorless. I paid $14.75 plus an additional $1 ($0.50 ea) for sauce. The sauce is okay but can't overcome the flavorless chicken. The breading sticks very well but again absolutely no flavor. Season the meat, season the breading and don't overcook this and you'll have some great strips. Lastly, use the old math 5 = 5 not 4. read more

Sparky's has been a godsend to us. Nothing short of a miracle. Yesterday, we happened to stay in Salem for a trip we needed to take and our hotel recommended Sparky's. The woman (owner's wife) was incredibly friendly on the phone, and even though we had ideas on what beers we wanted to order she took the time to walk us through the flavor profile and we wound up with choices we LOVED. The owner stood and chatted with us (6 feet away, of course!) when he delivered our brews and wings and we learned he's an electrician AND has his own insurance company. Pretty amazing. Also, when I order wings I ask for drums only. It's rare I get this request. Sparky's not only gave us a POUND of drum only wings but extra sauces to go with it. The way to my heart is my stomach and I'm so grateful for this #covidkindness This afternoon we got an order of chicken and waffles and biscuits and gravy along with a pineapple cider. Let me tell you. The gravy is perhaps the best I've ever had. Super savory. Not oily or slimy. Full of flavor. My husband and I looked at each other and said Damn. We know gravy. We are from the south. This gravy blew us away. My husband said "this gravy is worth driving down from Seattle for." High compliments to the brilliant person behind the gravy. We are so supportive of Sparky's and they are an all around five star business in our eyes, especially in the midst of covid19. Not only are they feeding an entire ER department today, they are also feeding the police force on Tuesday (80 people!). I had the Ahi Tuna Burger & a salad with a Huckleberry Refresher as my beverage of choice. Wow! The ahi was top quality & seared to perfection! Super cozy calm place, has a real relax place to chill with friends and drink or before 5 bring the fam and relax. Food was great! Our waitress was helpful and nice. Wasn't packed at all. They have a nice outside seating area but was a little chilly for me although they have a table with fire in the center to keep you warm. They also sell growlers which you can fill with whatever is on tap. About $7 the growler and 14.50$ for the pineapple haze so good! Prices vary on what you get. read more

The fry roulette is everything you could ever want in an appetizer. 3 types of fries and 8 sauces, yes please! The boneless chicken are real chicken and so moist. The staff are great. After my heart sunk seeing that the cider I enjoyed in house had tapped out, literally, one employee recommended a combination of a cider and a cider and it was amazing. I was let down that a brew pub didn't have nachos. Heartbroken they didn't have tacos. And devastated they didn't have pulled pork sandwiches. Oh well. I'll have a pizza. I love pizza I ordered the Maui Wowie pizza that boasts ham, bacon, pineapple, and jalapeño. This is as Hawaiian as flannel. Still, add bacon to dirt and I'll likely eat it. This isn't a pizza. They ruined the crust. They say they "craftily infused" their pizza dough with craft beer. I don't know. But have you ever had one of those crappy gluten free crusts that are brittle and have bland taste? This is it. Horrible pizza crust. No tomato sauce. If it weren't for the seductive powers of bacon, this might be the worst pizza in the state. Texture is lost, chewability, balance, crunch, zing, are all zero. The crust had more in common with white bread than pizza crust. Maybe they just didn't cook it enough. Who knows. Steer clear of their pizza. They're trying to be cute. Just avoid it. Stick with a sandwich instead. The food isn't terrible. It isn't great. I wouldn't drive here for it. As far as beer goes, plenty of beer pubs in town with great selection and better food. On a recent trip to Salem, OR where we were touring the breweries of the city we made a stop to Sparky's Brewing Company. This particular brewery seems to be more of a taphouse oriented place where most of the beer on hand are from other breweries. They do however brew their own beer and they had one of their own on tap. Steve and I got a bready, amber like beer that had their brand name that was associated with it and it was good! I like those kinds of beers! Sparky's also serves food and we would have ordered something if we didn't have supper before coming here because the fries and burgers here looked great! Absolutely awesome experience! The gals working the front were so nice and friendly. They were able to answer questions about the menu and provide options for drinks when I asked for a Diet Coke (they only have a house cola) The fries were different but not bad! Just super seasoned. My grilled cheese was amazing. So fresh and flavorful. My fiancé got the pizza and loved it. He got ranch dressing with it which was TO DIE FOR. I'm serious, bear ranch I've ever had.
