We finally stopped using RAM Waste Systems in Greeley for residential trash and recycle after more than ten years of service. We had so many problems over the years with missed pick-ups, and we always had to call to reschedule, often dealing with unhelpful customer service. The final straw came when I put out both trash and recycling the night before pickup, and neither was collected. When I called, I was told the bins weren't out and that RAM had time-stamped truck photos as proof. The photos they sent showed no bins, but also missing from the photo was the city bike lane sign that is permanently fixed next to the curb where the bins are placed! My own photo from the same angle clearly shows both the sign and the bins in place. Their explanation that the bike lane sign wasn't visible was because of the angle of the photo and that it was too dark. That doesn't make any sense given the sign is intentionally reflective for darkness and can easily be seen from a distance and in the dark. I believe they doctored the photos to cover up a missed pick-up. See the photos and judge for yourself. After years of poor service, this was appalling and inexcusable customer service. We regret not switching sooner. Finally, it required us submitting a complaint to the BBB and waiting nearly 3 months in order to get our deposit refund returned. Avoid this company. read more

Our town has a contract with them and week after week we watch them look at the bags that don't fit in our cans and ignore them leaving them in the road. They simply look at you and continue their horrible service. They are going to do this to a decision maker in one of these small towns and F business up for their whole company because they don't want to pick up an extra bag. Would NOT recommend them!!!! Many of my neighbors feel the same way and will be expressing our frustration at the next town hall meeting. Worst Trash Company Out There Had this company because of my HOA. They weren't consistant with their pickups, charged extra for a collapsed box on top of a recycle bin instead of in it. $5.00 for a lousy cardboad box that I could have put in the trash but tried to do the right thing and recycle it. They don't give you a discount when you don't put your pails out because you don't have enough to fill them. Their rates are the highest in the area too. Switched to Waste Management and cut my bill in half. And they want $50 to come get their bins. I feel bad for their phone people, they must get a ton of angry people. Good ridance. read more

Cancelled our service with them. Left the bins out for them to pick up. They didnt pick them up so I moved them back into my fenced yard. They came unannounced, went through our gate without permission, hit my car with one of the bins and left our gate open and our dogs got out! Then they proceeded to hound me about a bill. I spoke with them and told them about the damages to my car and them letting my dogs out. She said she would talk to someone and call me back. 2 months later I get a call saying I still owe the bill! The damages to my car a way more than the darn bill! They suck! I DO NOT recommend them at all. Their prices are astronomical as well! I pay 1/3 of what I paid Ram! Finally kicked these guys to the curb last week.. 4 missed pickups this year... they changed our pickup date without notifying us. They continually tell us one thing but fail to deliver.. they tied us last week that our cans would be picked up today as we already fired them and guess what... they never showed.. they are a pathetic excuse for a business and my prediction is that they will be out of business in less than a year. read more

I have consistently received good service from Ram for over nine years. I definitely do not want to switch to Republic trash service. I can always reach a customer service representative, and the trash collectors work diligently, taking my extra trash for a small fee, placing my cans back, and replacing them for free if they're damaged. Avoid this company. I called to cancel my service and they provided the closing balance. I had to wait until I got paid to pay the balance. When I called them back to make the payment, the same person I spoke to initially told me I don't have any balance. I had to remind them of the amount they told me previously. Once I did they then took the payment. I thought my accounts was closed. Turns out a few days later RAM waste systems called me to tell me I own more money to the to close my account. And that I was no longer able to access my accounts online because my account was closed. I told them the charges seemed random and punitive beings I was never notified about additional charges until they were notified I no longer wanted to use their services. I had their services for less than 4 months and they tried to charge me nearly $225. Avoid them at all costs. Can't speak from a homeowners' perspective but they've picked up pretty much everything the apartment building I used to live in tosses out. From old couches, used workout equipment, etc. The company doesn't pay their guys much (do a search on Indeed and you'll see) and most of their trucks I've seen are outdated and not automated. This is an industry with high turnover so you're not going to get the friendliest drivers/tossers...it's probably one of the worst jobs around here besides working at JBS in Greeley. Yes, they will overcharge you if your bin doesn't close and if you have multiple trash bags laying around your bin. That's normal for the industry to do that. You're lucky that they even picked anything up when your bin is overflowing. Many companies will refuse to dump. If you got yard waste/wet grass in your recycling bin, good luck trying to empty that out yourself. You can't blame the tossers who can't get that wet yard waste all out. Who throws out grass clippings anyways?!? It's supposed to be good for your lawn. For those complaining about rude customer service, I'd recommend doing things the old fashion way and showing up to the office to complain in person. We had Ram for 8 years. I rated them 4 stars 3 years ago on google. I have corrected my rating to 1 star for the following reasons and have updated my review, cancelled my service, and switched to Bunting. The reason for 1 star is due to a number of factors: 1) Horrible pick-up service 2) Horrible customer service 3) Non-competitive price 4) Small recycling bins 5) Cancellation billing Pickup Service: Over the last 3 years, they missed approximately every other recycling pick-up. You pay to get recycling picked up every other week, but it only gets picked up around every month, effectively. They also frequently miss their standard pickups. You are encouraged to just leave your bin out and they'll pick it up the following day or when they get around to it, but this can be days, up to the next service week. Customer Service: If you are expecting a refund of payment for a lack of service (mentioned above) - that service which the payment is premised on - forget about it. When I previously rated them highly, it was because they actually provided a refund when they failed to provide service. And they made efforts to correct things. They no longer do that and seem to have switched aggressively in the opposite direction. Non-competitive pricing: If you live in Greeley, Bunting costs less (I believe $14/month?), has larger recycling bins (~3x the size of Ram's) and so far hasn't missed a single pickup, and their customer service is great. Recycling Bins: The recycling bin for Ram is a little larger than a shopping basket (the ones you carry by hand in the store). As stated above, this isn't big enough to hold 2 weeks worth of recyclables (especially if you have a family). Companies like Bunting have bins that are slightly smaller than primary trash bin and are entirely adequate to hold 2 weeks worth of recycling. Cancellation billing: They will charge you $50 to leave them. Be aware of that. I've talked to Bunting, and they don't do this. Perhaps other companies do, but to me a good company doesn't need to charge people who leave. read more

This company offers zero customer service. They've missed my trash day on multiple occasions. I called in today to update my payment and simply asked if they would do me a solid and have one of their trucks stop by this week and pick up our trash (they have trucks passing my house every day) and they told me its an additional $35 service fee which is basically the cost of a months service. I asked to speak to a manager and they said no... the kicker is when I discontinue the service (which I 100% plan to) they charge $50 to pick up their cans! Ya... I'm not paying that. We had a pallet to pickup, so I called the office and let them know. They said there would be a $15 extra charge foe this, which is fine. When the collector came to pick up our trash he took a picture of the pallet loaded it up and headed out. No problem, right? Well not exactly..... On our last bill we were charged for 2 extra pickups at $15 each plus the pallet pickup that I called about. I called the office to get this worked out and promptly paid my invoice except for the disputed amount. The woman that answered was immediacy defensive, and completely unhelpful. I simply asked for some sort of verification that the added charges were actually ours. She said no such information exists, then I mentioned the collector taking a picture of the pallet, and so clearly there must be something since that seemed to be a standard practice, and honestly a great idea. I asked to have a manager call me she agreed and took my number. A week went by and nothing. So I called again and went through the exact same conversation, and was promised that someone would call me back. Well...... nothing. This processes repeated its server several times over the next 12 weeks. Then suddenly I got a CALL!!! From a collection agency!! I was not happy to say the least, and unfortunately vented my frustration at this poor guy stuck in the middle. He said he would call them and see if he could get them to call me back. He called back a week later and basically said they didn't have any proof and the amount would go on my credit report as a disputed charge. All this for a stupid $29! In the process of all this I cancelled my service, it took them 4 weeks after promise after promise that it would be the next day. I was charged by my HOA for having the trash can out for weeks. Horrible company with no accountability or concern about their customers. There a PLENTY of other companies out there. Do yourself a favor and call them. read more

When waste collection is working normally, it is something you do not think about. Like fresh water, heat and light, it is something we take for granted. Perhaps it is something we should appreciate more often. I took the trash out and thought I had it out in time, perhaps I was late but not sure. There was not much there, but when I checked later in the day it was not collected, so called and asked. They said that I did indeed miss it and they would send a truck. I said it was my fault but she insisted. Recall the comment about something we do not appreciate but take for granted? Sure enough the next day (which means they sent a truck out of the way) it was removed. Once again appalling service. I don't know whether they hire people who don't know what they are meant to do or given my dealings with their office, are so toxic that they don't care. Earlier in the year they broke my trash bin. That took 5 weeks and countless calls to get remedied. This time they just flat out do not take the trash. They appear to take the other trash bins so I guess as I have a small amount of trash they think the bin is empty...why would I put it out for collection if it was? I have been a RAM waste customer for 18 years, but over the past 2.5 years the costs have risen dramatically! Their fees for one extra bag of grass clippings weekly nearly doubles your costs through the summer. They are nearly impossible to reach via phone to report missed pickups or billing questions. We ultimately decided to change service providers and they picked-up their RAM bins. A few months later, we get a $50 bill from them for picking-up their bins. They have never produced any contractual documents showing that we ever agreed to pay for bin pickup or that any charges would be incurred after the initial 12 month contract period! Beware! One star is too much for this company. The only saving grace is yelp won't let us review lower. Ramwaste keeps charging us for overages- even on the days we DIDN'T take our trash out. This has been a recurring problem with this company. The only proof or evidence they obtain is "marking" something on their sheet and calling it good. At this point, I've had to begin taking photos of my trash when I put it out as evidence. All I get told is "the charges aren't that much, just pay them". How much money are you going to keep trying to get? I've tried to flag the account- but they won't let me; I've tried to contact Ramwaste- to be told the same thing over and that I don't have the authority to discuss it or dispute it further. I called and canceled my trash service over 3 months ago and just received a past due notice in the mail saying it would be sent to collection if not paid. They told me when I called it was for a trash bin pick up fee and one weeks service. Apparently when I called and canceled 6 days before the pickup date that wasn't enough time to cancel the next weeks charge. They also charge a $50 bin pickup fee, which I was never informed of when I canceled or started my service. Also had several missed recycle pick ups, but I stopped calling after the 3rd one because they would never come back and get it until the next 2 week pickup. I used ram for 4 months and their service was absolutely horrible. My trash was suppose to be picked up on thursdays and they missed several pick up days. The days they did pick up , often they left part of my garbage still in the container. When I called to complain the girls in the office were horribly rude, especially Jackie. And then on a Friday my trash container was missing!!! When I called to inquire they said I had cancelled service which was a lie . They then said it would be 7-10 business days before they could deliver another container and we're going to charge me an extra 25 dollars. This on top of them being way over priced to begin with.
