The staff is nice but that is where the good things end. We were in room 128 at the end of the hallway and immediately were greeted by the smell of wet carpet and mildew. The carpet was damp when we walked in, and we had assumed it had been shampooed or something similar during the cleaning. The sheets were also damp, which we assumed was humidity. We woke up in the morning completely dampened from the sheets. The biggest issue was safety-related, as the ambient humidity in the room was so high that the tiles were slippery and we almost fell several times while packing up to leave. If it had been someone with less balance, it could have resulted in serious injuries. The breakfast was a pretty standard Wyndham breakfast, but the cereal dispenser was labeled with "Gluten-Free Cheerios" but instead had Froot Loops. For those unfamiliar with celiac disease, any cross contamination with gluten can cause permanent damage to someone's small intestine, including but not limited to intestinal cancer. Good thing I grew up knowing what Cheerios and Froot Loops looked like otherwise that could have been rough! read more

If I could give a negative star, I would. I'm sorry I didn't take photos of this atrocious scene, but I was too horrified to think of anything else but leaving. The pictures the hotel post are extremely misleading! The rooms dont look like that. My RN daughter and I made reservations here not being familiar with RAMADA or the city of Sioux Falls. We arrived to find an unkempt parking lot and entry to the hotel, with people smoking directly in front of the door. The lobby is outdated with an old leather sofa and that was all the furnishing. We walked up the stairs to our second floor room and the stairs were littered with debris and the carpet was ancient. The whole building wreaked with cigarette smoke. We opened the door to our room and couldn't easily get it closed. The bedding looked like someone pulled it out of the hamper and tried to make the bed. The non-smoking room we reserved wreaked like cigarette smoke and the room was very outdated, like the rest of the building. My daughter pointed out that the bathroom had mold on the ceiling, something splattered and sticky on the inside of the door ( directly in front of the commode so utilize your imagination ), and there was what appeared to be blood on the wall behind the commode! We didn't even want to set our bags down in that room. We promptly checked out of that hell-hole and called Wyndham's customer care line, which had no care at all! I even tried a level of patience and said I wouldn't mind just transferring my payment to a better hotel in the Wyndham group and I'd even pay the difference...and could not believe their answer. We were told it could take up to a week for a response to our "concerns"! Now, I'm angry. I called Sioux Falls Public Health Department and was told they would send an investigator over. Now, when I pay about $140 per night I expect a lower star hotel than a $200 per night but I don't expect a trashy dump that could actually be considered a health hazard! Two days later I received an email from Wyndham Resorts that said they would refund me for the second night but not the first since it was rated for a non-cancellable reservation. Non-cancellable because they take advantage of unsuspecting travellers. Noone should have to pay $1 for this travesty they call a "hotel"! I will NEVER stay with a WYNDHAM group facility EVER AGAIN! I do recommend Hampton Inns and Suites and Comfort Inns and Suites. Have never had a disappointment with these groups. read more

This place gets about 2.5 stars. We got our room on last minute notice, as we realized we could drive further than our original stop before needing a place to sleep. You definitely get what you pay for! We were in room 228. This room's window is broken, to the point where it doesn't close, but from the outside of the building it looks like it's the only room with a broken window. We didn't ask to change rooms as we were exhausted and on the second floor. The hallways (especially stairwells) smelled terrible. The carpet desperately needed to be cleaned. However, the room smelled fine and was clean. I'm not sure if there's an elevator, it didn't look like it when I walked up and down the hallway. There's only 2 floors so if you are able to climb stairs, it's only 1 flight. The beds were super comfortable, the most comfortable from the 3 places so far on my trip. The sink is separate from the rest of the bathroom. Breakfast was ok, I have food allergies so I don't have a lot of options normally, but I was able to find something to eat. The person I'm traveling with had the biscuits, they said that they were rubbery. The juice was not good, I thought that the orange juice tasted like it was spiked or something, the mix was definitely off. Overall, this place is pretty old and needs some renovations/cleaning but it's a place to stay for one night. The staff from our experience was friendly and helpful, even though we didn't interact with them much. If you need a place to crash for one night, I wouldn't recommend this place first, but it's cheap and there's a bed to sleep in. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. At first glance when you walk through the door, it looks relatively standard. However, one quick look at the bathroom will change that opinion immediately. The shower curtain rod is hanging on by two screws (it will eventually collapse), which causes the curtains to slide in towards the center. So inevitably when the shower is running, water gets all over the bathroom floor. To make matters worse, the tub is really slow to drain, so you have to deal with standing water. The towel rack is also hanging on by a couple screws and I have no doubt will fall off really soon. The toilet isn't any better. It sits crooked and the water sits really high, which causes it to flush incredibly slow. The absolute most unforgivable and criminal aspect of the room is that the curtains, rod and all, fell off the wall and slammed into my girlfriend, injuring her. She was standing at the side of the bed, which was nowhere near the curtains. But because of the combined length and height of the curtains, upon falling off of the wall, they covered a third of the room. As a result, these 20 or so pound curtains fell into her, scraping her leg up. We have video of the aftermath and pictures of her injuries as proof. Again, absolutely unforgivable and criminal to allow a room to get to a state where bolted things are falling off of walls. Unless they address this soon, I foresee more injuries to unsuspecting guests. I have to also add that the air conditioning was leaking into the carpet. This led to a slight mildewy smell to the room. read more

Way past it's prime this hotel needs to be rebuilt or demolished. The first room we we were given still had tools in it from the maintenance crew that must not have finished their work. Got a second room pretty fast. Problems there were the cleanliness and the weird moldy smell. Oh well, the room was cheap and only for one night. See ya, Ramada. read more

A tale of two stories... Usually one expects a Ramada to be on the higher end of the Wyndham spectrum, but this particular location gave very mixed messages. At arrival, the employees running the desk were sitting outside and seemed caught off guard when I came to check in. Not to mention parking was limited, so I had a long walk as it was with my bags. The room looked like it was only half remodeled before they just gave up. While the beds were nice, the bathroom was literally falling apart. The door was splitting and nearly hit the toilet when opened all the way. Some mis-matched paint covered up a hole in the wall. The mini-fridge was old and not very cold. At least the hot tub was nice. Overall, it's an okay place to stay, but I expect better quality from Ramada. read more

I've stayed at many hotels in my time, this is perhaps the most dated and run down places I've ever been in. Bathroom door about to fall off, the bathroom lights may or may not turn on, shower curtain about to fall off, and the air conditioner was noisier then a mechanic shop. The smell when you walk in the lobby is foul, and poorly masked with heavily perfumed deodorizers. The only reason this is receiving a one (1) star review is because there isn't an option for zero or negative rating. I reserved a hotel room with the reservation service for this location and had requested a Non-smoking room with 2 queen size beds deluxe room which includes a mini fridge, and sofa on the first floor and the continental breakfast. I was told at said time of reservation that this would not be a problem, we were also to have received a military discount. What was received at the time of check-in was the total opposite as to what was reserved and we were charged an additional $50 damage deposit which should have been included in the reservation quote I received. Our room appeared as if the housekeeping staff was blind, the bathroom walls were dirty,, the vents had a month or more worth of dust bunny buildup and when this was brought to the managers attention the next morning I was told if I didn't like the room we could leave but we wouldn't be receiving a refund for our reservation. The pool and hot tub area was not better it appeared as if it hadn't been cleaned in years and should be reported to the health department. When it came time to check out we obtained the one luggage cart to assiat with loading all of our stuff to our vehicle without having to make several trips. The manager was unprofessional and had no regard to our safety when he allowed another demanding guest to accompany him to our room to retrieve the cart which we were using and demanded that we give it to him immediately because that guest wanted to leave right away. This same rude overbearing man confronted my companions in the parking lot putting their safety in danger and when management was confronted regarding this incident he seemed to not give a rats ass about the unsafe situation he created. I for one will Never suggest anyone stays at a Wyndham owned property in the Sioux Fall, SD or any where for that matter because of the poor quality customer care service received when trying to submit a formal complaint. Wyndham should be compensating us for the inconvenience and unhealthy conditions that management allows. This location should be closed until management and housekeeping is properly trained on how to provide safe and healthy accommodations for their guests, and Wyndham properties should make it less difficult to file complaints and concerns as it took 8 phone calls to get a complaint official filed. I have made several calls to the Ramada to speak the manager Sonia, but after three weeks I still haven't heard back from her or anyone at the Ramada nor Wyndham corporate office. I have requested a new invoice for the extra charges that we were charged and still nothing, no contact from the Ramada or it's poor excuse of a hotel manager. read more

Accidentally booked through third party. They lies to third party when I tried to get the charges reversed. They said I called numerous times and was rude. Which I was not. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel and I stay in hotels weekly. We called for early check In which was $40, but we had this booked for 3 months, were in a band so we assumed after our show it we would could check in like everywhere else we have in the last 7 years but this hotel gave away our room. They said they called the phone number on file at 10PM we had them read it back and we checked that cell phone, of course no call. Don't ever stay here, horrible staff, to be honest out dated everything (we unfortunately stayed here before), you have many hotel to choose from, this isn't one to spend your money on. Hotel room is falling apart. Mold and wall paper falling off in bathroom. Management is horrible. Manager kicked 12 year old girls out of the pool because they were jumping in the pool. No jumping in the pool!? When a parent asked the reason, they had none and then called the cops because we were being 'unreasonable'. When the cops showed up they talked with a parent, laughed and left. The next day we were at an event all night long until around midnight. Management 'caught' some of our kids walking back to their room from the event and yelled at them saying they were running around the hotel all night and if they are seen again they'll be kicked out and charged with trespassing. Obviously they weren't running around all night if they weren't there. Not staying here again. read more

We booked this hotel online through one of the many apps I regularly use. I clicked on the hotel which they had a picture of a waterpark next to the "Queen Bed, non-smoking" when we arrived we realized it was a separate location as there were 2 locations in town. We brought this up to management when we checked in asking why their location showed having a waterpark when clearly there isn't one, after he yelled at us stating it's not his problem and to contact the people online. Now to paint a prettier picture... the "man" checking us in told us there would be a "$25" deposit, ( I had two witnesses to confirm that amount) just in case there were damages or incidentals. Today when checking out we were double charged for $75, after my husband making an uproar and talking with our bank we received our money back for those charges. On our way walking down the halls to the room, the carpet is taped down to the floor and to the walls and doors( clearly not attached to the floor itself) some rooms were clearly not being used so we're boarded off or they put carpet over to cover them. Walking into the room it smelt as if someone vomited everywhere, the dead bolt on door to our door was loosely hanging by one screw( not going to stop anyone from bustin in if they tried) The small bottles of shampoo/conditioner/ soap were already used. The bathtub was still dirty with hair in the bottom of it from previous people, we sat on the bed as we came in upon arrival only to find out the frame was broken down the center so lefty husband and I to sleep on the floor next to our 7 month old in his playpen. 10 pm it's dark outside and some people would like to be sleeping, they had multiple staff outside with leaf blowers blowing the da** parking lot out!!! Also if you want breakfast or planned on having their "complementary breakfast" that states is open from 5am to 9am- we left at 5:50am to head to an appointment and there still was no breakfast available ‍ All in all, so much wrong with this place and I would never recommend anyone to staying there ever. This review would be zero stars if it was allowed. The staff person that checked us in was extremely rude. The physical condition of this building was horrifying, and in my opinion, should be closed until completely cleaned renovated. The rooms and hallways were filthy. Our hotel room smelled like vomit. Thankfully, I always travel with my own toiletries, which is a good thing as the complementary toiletries had already been used. Required a $75 deposit on the room for damages and incidentals which required two calls to my bank who contacted this hotel to have those funds returned. When we arrived, we were unable to get the room we had reserved and was not compensated in result. My friend who uses a walker was automatically assumed to be needing a handicapped room which is completely disrespectful and discriminating against!! Then the day we were to leave, we had gotten the luggage cart and hadn't even been back to our room with it for 5 min before having the general manager bring a different guest to our room demanding the cart because he had a lot of stuff and wanted to leave. Had to practically shut the door on both their faces in order to get them to leave, finished packing the cart and put into vehicle (all within 5-10 min). The guest happened to be going to his car with his wife as we were just finishing and proceeded to call us every name under the sun including saying the front desk informing them we had the cart overnight....I DON'T think so!!! Wow. I don't even know where to start. I'm giving this place one star because you can't do 0. During a road trip from CO to MN/WI, we were in a two car caravan. My parents were ahead of us at this time, and had hit a pheasant and shattered their windshield. All was well (except for the pheasant) but we needed a place to stay the night that was near a place with windshields, so we drove another 2 hours until we got to the closest town - Sioux Falls. We get there after I had searched on my phone for a well-rated hotel/motel. This was the best option...and I would HATE to see what the other ones were like!!! It all started at the desk....it was expensive to stay there, and not worth the money at all. Ok, on to bigger and better....well worse....My husband and I walked into our stinky room - really smelled like sweat and gross. We get in there and immediately see the missing fire detector with wires hanging out above the bed. Thanks for making us feel safe, guys. As we are bringing in our suitcases, (as well as everything else in the cars since this was an unexpected stop, and mind you it's not really that late- about 11pm) up the stairs and to our rooms (no elevator) my parents down the hall were contacted for shutting their door too loudly. My husband and I retreat to our room and proceed to make some coffee- which the coffee pot has been sitting full and old and completely untouched from the last guests. So, I went down to the front desk and promptly asked for another coffee pot to be brought up in the morning. This never did happen, even after we put the coffee pot outside our door as house keeping was making their way through their rounds. It was left even after they were by our rooms. Our bathroom was disgusting, the paint peeling from all areas, floors in terrible shape, and just made me feel icky using it the entire time. The alarm clock was clearly broken and not replaced or noticed....I understand there are many aspects in keeping the rooms, but please. This place was over $100 a night and even the simplest things were in terrible shape. The front desk people (we had about 3 different ones in the 12 hours we were there) knew very little about anything they were doing, one was even a manager, what a joke! They were not helpful and only quickly responded when we closed our doors. Wow! Great service (sarcasm). We decided since we payed so much we would enjoy the pool and hot tub. No complaints about the pool, but the hot tub was so dirty. It literally had pools of dirt swirling on the bottom. Well, I think that's about it. Meh. It was place to stop and rest for one night at a good price. The rooms are old and pretty beaten up but a good size and they all have small mini fridges and a microwave. Everything was loud... the AC/heat unit was loud, the bathroom fan was loud, the fridge was loud. The shower head was terrible. Breakfast wasn't bad. Parking and WiFi are free. I definitely would not recommend it for a long stay, but it fit the bill for one night. read more

Double charged on place from Hell. Walk in reservation, so took what we could get. Got a room where the sheets may not have been changed from the previous visitors. Pull out sofa bed filthy and had springs sticking through the fabric on the "mattress." No elevator to second floor room Drywall missing in large areas of hall walls. Broken window on room down the hall facing parking lot. Police in downstairs interviewing someone in the "lobby" one morning. Oh, and the best part? Got charged twice for room and cannot reach Ramada or a manager to resolve the dispute. A place to stay if you're really desperate, but make sure you get paper receipts at every step. Definitely not super high quality. Our experience has not been great at all. Customer service is awful. The light in the bathroom flickers every time it is turned on. We were told that there was a couch in our room, but there was not. When we asked if we could get a rollaway, the guy said that they were out and that it would be an extra $30 per night to move to a room with a couch. Not even a fold out couch. Just a couch. Breakfast can honestly not even be considered breakfast. The first morning there was two options of cereal and a bread bar. The second morning there was biscuits and gravy, but the gravy was already gone and he said there was no more gravy. The waffle mix is constantly out. The hotel is definitely not updated at all. The beds were decent, but that's pretty much all this place has going for it. read more

As you drive up you can see it is In need of a face lift. Walking inside it has that musty smell. The young man after I told him my name said "your early" not a hello or any other greeting. Got my room key and the room was clean with the exception of that ring in the tub. I did not have towels and had to go pick them up. TV worked slarm clock microwave and fridge. Carpets in the hall were in need of a good vaccum. I would have expected more from this chain. Let's not forget the breakfast, or lack of. read more

If you are just staying for a night it might be ok. The hotel is an older hotel that has an older remodeling. First impressions is wow this is a dump. No elevator, halls seem damp and grungy. The rooms are ok, but the pillows seem like they are just old pillows wadded up in a case absolutely no support. There is a couch in my room, but it is offset from the TV. The shower was utterly disappointing. The shower head just sprayed water all over the place with no pressure. Very hard to was the soap off lower extremities. oh the internet is so slow you won't use it. Ended up using my hotspot. To the hotels credit it is a cheaper price, but for 20 bucks more you can stay just one more exit south in the bay mount. That was worth the money. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! If you haven't seen this awful establishment from the outside yet, please avoid stepping in, unless you enjoy the feel of being imprisoned. This hotel suffers from lack of any attention to hygiene and could sorely use some customer service. I attempted to stay here one time and would never return: beyond the superficial appearances, the lack of cleanliness, the understaffing at night, waiting over ten minutes to try to check in after making the mistake of booking online, hearing the customer behind me in line talking about just getting out of prison (yes, he was the third person waiting in line at 10.30 pm), and then attempting to contact the manager on five separate occasions to request a refund for the hotel room I never stayed in (for all of the above reasons), this hotel does not deserve to consider itself a member of any hospitality organization and is embarrassingly poorly managed. Amazingly, if you drive a few minutes across town, the other Ramada suffers from none of the aforementioned issues and you can find a room for the same price. (And if you think you can switch to the other one when you see this one, good luck; they are clearly operated by different management.) This hotel must survive solely by poor souls booking online who are forced to relinquish their money because this Ramada keeps your money, even if they don't hold up their end of the deal. read more

My family and I arrived at 11 PM from Illinois. We were very tired, and just ready for bed. We checked in, and got to the room, brushed our teeth, and got in bed. The 'wet' beds. Well, okay, they weren't wet, but they were very damp. We switched rooms, and it helped a little (to a room right off of the pool to one, far, far away). I woke up after about an hour soaked in sweat, even though I had the AC at 63. The bedding is synthetic, and didn't breathe at all. I am still here, actually, came to the lobby to write the review. In all fairness, the water area looks very fun, and the kids were excited to see it when we checked in. This might be a fun place to come for a day and have a party. This is NOT fun place to sleep in. Other issues: - our shower was broken - there is dirt around the base of the doors and floorboards - the hallway carpet is taped down - the dry wall is broken in the hallway - drunks wandering the hallls; scary drunks there was other stuff, but basically, I felt like I was in a Chuck E Cheese with a bar and some gross rooms to camp out in. read more

WOW, The negative reviews on this board did NOT match my experience at all. Let's be honest, this is a Ramada Limited that is situated one block off a main highway. This is NOT a resort hotel or anything trying to be like a Four Seasons. So I think we have to rate it that way, I mean you don't go into a McDonalds and expect white table cloths and 9 course sit down meal do you????? PROS Price - I'm as cheap as they come, this place seemed to cheap but I thought let's give it a shot. To those complaining about price, where the $#^% do you live? I live in Spokane, hardly a big city mecca but this place was cheaper than our Motel 6. Pretty decent FREE breakfast FAST internet - most hotels, including many high end ones have slow internet. I could stream Netflix while downloading 1GB work files without a hitch. The front desk people - They seemed genuinely happy to be there and happy to help you. Indoor pool and spa - both clean and well maintained. Quiet - Not sure what the other poster was complaining about - the freeway is 1 block away and after 10 PM there are hardly any cars on it. Besides the insulation took away all of the freeway noise. Maybe they slept with their windows open?!?!?!? AC - I like my room COLD (65 degrees) and many hotel AC's can't get it down past 70, this thing worked like a charm. CONS The place was a little dated, but this isn't the type of place you go on a honeymoon too. It was functional, and perfect for my needs. There are two Ramada hotels in Sioux Falls - the one on Lyons Avenue DOES NOT have a water park or a casino. That said, Ramada should be ashamed to have their name on this hotel. From the moment we got there, I felt grossed out by the location and the room. It was next to a concrete yard, gas station and car dealership. The view from our window was of the concrete yard. We had an accessible room which had clearly been upgraded quickly and cheaply. The paint was chipping and scratched all over. They had installed a coat rack in the corner (probably to expand the bathroom) and it was crooked and there were holes and scratches where they had screwed it in. The bathroom fixtures were all old and there were gaping holes around the sides. The carpet felt old and gross - I refused to let my feet actually touch the ground without shoes on. I grabbed on to the arm of the easy chair in the room and it felt damp. Eww. It was pretty humid in Sioux Falls when we were there and when the room air conditioner wasn't blasting freezing cold air (regardless of what temp we had it set on) the room immediately became musty and humid. Accessible bathrooms usually have a hand-held shower head. This one did, but it was installed about 6 1/2 feet above the bathtub floor. Imagine you are in a wheelchair - you get in to the tub and... how are you supposed to reach the shower head to get it down? I could barely reach it standing up and I'm 5' 5". Instead of a curved shower curtain bar, someone had installed a flat piece of metal and just bent it. We only had one hand towel. On the plus side, they had a continental breakfast (standard stuff - cereal, waffles, coffee, etc.) a little mini-mart inside the hotel lobby, and what looked like a pretty decent pool. It was a pretty quick drive from Falls Park and downtown Sioux Falls, although there was a ton of road construction along the way. It's also close to a decent Target and a few grocery stores if you don't mind driving a few miles to get there. read more

Do not make a reservation in this hotel! We called and asked for an early check in because I was getting married and needed somewhere to change. They were nothing but rude to us and told us to use their one stall public bathroom to change, with pee stains on the toilet seat! They were nothing but rude to us and did not smile once. We thought to give them a chance and see how nice the rooms were, but it only got worse. Upon entering, the door would not open. We had to jerk it closed and it produced a loud pop every time (I couldn't get a picture of this). The same room door had holes and chips near the top. The bathroom door had mold on it! The chair by the desk had the material completely eroded away. One of the lamps on the wall was missing a piece and we couldn't even turn it on. The light in the bathroom didn't work-- I turned it off and the light and vent still staid on. We staid for 3 days and NOT ONCE did they clean our room or provide us with new towels and fresh sheets. A cleaning lady knocked at 10 AM and asked to clean, and we told her we were getting ready to leave and we'd be out in 30 mins. So we left and came back around 6 PM, and THE ROOM WAS STILL NOT CLEANED! Also, our party of three (my husband and mother-in-law) got sick every time we ate their breakfast. This hotel was absolutely HORRIBLE and they do not care about their guests. Please, pick a different hotel. read more
