There was a light bulb missing from one of the lamps and they didn't have any replacements. The shower curtain was absolutely disgusting. The breakfast that was supposed to be "hot" was a few pieces of bread, stale danishes, and cereal with milk that was left on the counter for hours. The coffee wasn't fresh either. The hotel claimed to be nonsmoking but it smelled of cigarette smoke throughout. The front desk staff was friendly, but unfortunately I wouldn't recommended staying here at the prices they have listed. read more

Ramada LIMITED, it's quite literal. First of all, the hot tub is out of order. As a horseback rider, my purpose for being in this town is to go riding and to buy a new horse and a hot tub is a must for sore muscles after all-day riding. All of the hotels in the area of Mount Sterling either don't have a hot tub or they are out of order as of May 2015. Talk about pathetic. Next, if you have children or care about your health stay far away from this disgusting hotel. THEY ALLOW SMOKING on half of the second floor. Absolutely disgusting and revolting. The elevators reek, the halls reek, we found a nasty cigarette butt on the floor of the hallway. Smoking is a disgusting habit and I can't believe Kentucky still allows people to smoke in buildings. As a Wisconsinite, we do not allow such a fowl and harmful thing inside any establishment including our bars and restaurants. The Internet is glacial at best. It's not on a secure server, and I couldn't even send an email with two photo attachments. Absolutely pathetic. There are about 8 different networks to choose from, all are slow and un-useable. Again, pathetic. The breakfast they offer is fattening and unhealthy. Carbs, carbs, carbs. Honestly is it THAT hard to buy fresh fruit and/or skim milk? No wonder this country has obesity issues. I have been completely unable to utilize this "perk" to the hotel due to clinical dietary restrictions. The service here is ignorant and unhelpful. They were short with me when I asked them to spray the elevator (I had asked on several occasions because the elevator reeked so badly of cigarettes it made me gag). The man at the front desk said "yes, we (Ramada Limited) are one of the few to still allow smoking!" - ok that's just VILE. Why be one of the few disgusting and revolting establishments to still allow people to contaminate the air for everyone else when they could join the healthy majority of hotels that have banned smoking? We were forced to stay at this horrid establishment for 4 nights and paid $75 a night plus tax. I have never felt more robbed in my entire life and I hope that this hotel burns down. Not an unlikely wish seeing as I found numerous cigarette burns on my comforter. This place is revolting. If you're forced to stay here like I was, I'm so so so sorry. I wish you could give negative ratings or warnings to others. Good luck and steer clear, you're better sleeping under a bridge - at least the air is clean there. read more

On our way home to Illinois from the beaches of North Carolina, we stopped here for a night stay. Everything was as can be expected from a motel. The pillows were actually very nice. However, staying in room 305, we found out when we came back from dinner that the air conditioning unit was dripping on the carpet and the carpet all around the window was soaked. When I called the front desk I was told "well, I am not a fix it man" and "we are fully booked so what am I supposed to do?" Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Customer service when checking in was great but now..... sucks!!! Go to the Comfort Inn just down the way. Much better there from what I heard from people eating at Cracker Barrel. read more

Just got here! We have a non smoking room and it smells like a cigarette factory here and all outside the room. Tried to call the front desk 5 times and it was busy. Sounds like the phone is off the hook. Save your money read more

This hotel was very clean and the staff is kind and helpful. Good room for the money spent. The only reason this hotel didn't get a higher rating from me was due to the fact that the indoor pool and Jacuzzi were both out of service during my entire 3 day stay. I selected this hotel for those amenities (in addition to location). Also, the ice machines on all 3 floors were out of order as well. For me to say that the hotel was clean is the utmost compliment from me, being that I am a neat freak with OCD =) The staff on all shifts were very informative when it came to looking for things to do and places to go. read more

It was okay, but we didn't pay all that much. We were first put on the second floor and we asked for nonsmoking. It was nonsmoking, but there are smoking rooms on that floor. That still doesn't work all that well. We were moved to the first floor which was much better. All in all, it was just fine. read more

Terrible stay!! They allow pets so the room above me had a dog that barked until midnight. I called the front desk twice. The girl stated she didn't think there was a problem and seemed quite exasperated that I would even call her. I told my story at checkout and was assured that I would receive a discount back on my card. That didn't happen either. If you are near Mt. Sterling and need a place to spend the night, keep driving to the next town. read more

Found ourselves stranded there due to snow. This place is almost a crime. Anything you pay above $39.99 is robbery. Tips for staying here: save shopping bags to cover your feet, learn to levitate as not to touch mattress, pack respirator to avoid lung cancer, use coffee stirer to operate remote. P.S. normal hotel hacks not possible, covering chair with comforter inside out only reveals more disgusting stains. The only bright side to this experience is, this is our first & last stay at any Ramada property. BTW this is the #1 hotel in this town. read more

When we pulled up we noticed the windows were smeared over like a cataract on an eye.. not deterred we went and checked in.. the hallway that our room was on smelled heavily of smoke... As a smoker that didn't bother me, but if someone was allergic they would have been screwed. We get to our room, its clean, looks nice, we start to unpack and get ready to leave when I leave out and the door wont shut. I do the electronic key 3 times to finally get the lock to budge to shut the door, then all you had to do was push on the handle and the door would open up without the lock! After a few minutes it was locking but then the key wouldn't open it again... then it was back to the door didn't want to shut. We alerted one of the housekeeping staff about it and she said "oh, that rooms had that problem for a couple of YEARS now"! We went to the front desk to get moved, they didn't have any more smoking rooms however "I'll put you in a non smoking room and you can just smoke in it". Um, no, what about the NEXT customer you have in there is they cant stand smoke? More importantly when asked about the door from the previous room the lady agreed that it had been messed up for a while (gee, thanks for putting us there!), it was going to be $500 for a new door and they wern't going to spend that. We walked across the parking lot to the fairfield inn...they we're used to people coming over there from the ramada. read more
