I can't say enough good things about it but most importantly how is this free?! I feel like they could charge $5 admission & I'd still be cool with it but I'll take free all day! My son has never seen a farm & growing up in San Jose my mother often took my brother & I to a place called Prusch Farm. Very similar to this museum so I was delighted to be able to find something I could take my son to so that I could try to give him the kind of cool childhood memories I treasure. This was even better because of the working Blacksmith! My son was in awe by the whole thing but my husband & I have never seen a blacksmith in action either. The variety of animals plus the costumed volunteers & walkable buildings are such a great way to entertain a toddler. We got there at opening & were able to get everything done by the time it was getting more crowded around 11AM. I would definitely come back as we missed seeing the small indoor museum near check in. Loved this 10x more then the Children's Museum!

The inside of the museum was very interesting with an art exhibit, a special exhibit which currently focused on Kate Farretti and the Littleton history area which included a kids zone. The Kate Farretti exhibit depicted the life of a famous hat maker originally from Italy, she settled in Denver with her husband and made hats for Denver's elite including Molly Brown. Kate was also mother to the first triplets to be born in Denver. You can spend a couple hours here and make a day of it. I loved the living history farm portion which included 1860's and 1890's farms and contained 5 historical buildings as well as outhouses and a root cellar. It is an acutal working farm with 1800lb cows, turkeys, chickens, sheep, donkeys and a blacksmith! The gardens throughout were beautiful, we got to pick some pumpkins and see what would have been grown in this historical time period. Both livestock and gardens were accurately portrayed for the time period. You can only bring water in so don't try to do a picnic onsite. You are able to bring strollers and wagons and I would recommend doing so, there is a lot of land to be covered which requires a lot of walking.

I stumbled across this museum while walking around Castle Rock on a Saturday afternoon. I was told…read morethat this building originally sat where the fire station is located downtown. It looked like quite the project to move this building to the current location. Unfortunately, this location is "out of sight, out of mind." I feel that this museum is an important part of Castle Rock history. Part of the original flooring is still intact. And the graffiti on the right end of the building was interesting. Various graffiti on the wall was explained to me. I was impressed that there was so much to look at for such a small building. I was fortunate to have a guided tour by a staff member. I believe staff are volunteers. They also feature various presentations about Castle Rock which are actually held at the library (Phillip Miller). They also have a nice gift shop. Make sure you browse the various items. They sell some nice books. I purchased a Douglas County history book for half off the price. Again, I felt fortunate to have a staff member tell me about various history events in Castle Rock. This experience gave me a really nice appreciation for being a Castle Rock resident. I love learning the history about any community I live in. There is also an opportunity to purchase a brick ($100) where the proceeds go to the museum. The brick is placed directly outside the museum for display. It was very nice to see all of the bricks purchased so far. The museum visit gets better when you exit and walk through the back yard. It's a nice area to sit at and rest for a nice weather day. There are some nice buildings to look at as well. You can also have an opportunity to look at the donor bricks on the side of the building. I recommend this museum if you're a Castle Rock resident or visiting. I also recommend it if you live in Colorado. Take a trip to Castle Rock and have some breakfast or brunch before your museum visit. Make sure you check their hours of operation. Enjoy!

I simply can't believe we didn't know this was here. It's absolutely stunning and really takes me…read moreback. This is a car museum that brings in the feelings of nostalgia in huge waves. All my favorite cars from my favorite shows of my teens and childhood. Everything from Herbie, the Mystery Machine, the A Team van, the Delorean from Back to the Future, Kitt from Knight Rider and so on. Our experience started by being greeted and checked in by a beautiful and friendly woman named Elliott. She was all smiles and puts a great face on this incredible place. She even let my two make companions in for free as there are in the military. This was exceptionally nice of her and this entire organization. I really support businesses that support or troops and their families. This museum is located in a great place. Huge viewing floor, well lit and beautifully maintained. There is plenty of parking and there's no stairs or steps to negotiate of any kind. They have a small gift ship and there is even a food truck in the parking lot. I enjoyed myself immensely and I'm looking forward to going back with a few other car enthusiast friends of mine. Again, thank you Elliott for making our visit so pleasant. We will be back soon.

I read an article from my local news that this museum of cars was going away, and I just had to…read moregive my support to this business. The mall itself is in a strip mall, and this is pretty much the biggest business here to hold all these cars in. So there's plenty of parking. Walked in and there was a person who greeted me right away. Very nice person. She and I chatted and she up gave the few rules like please don't touch the cars , don't cross the ropes, pretty much behave yourself. I paid my entry fee ($12) and looked around the little gift area that they had. When you walk past all of the curtains, it's huge with so many cool things to see. You can go clockwise or counterclockwise and then there is the center location of movie cars as well. I saw so many neat replicas and then actual movie used props and cars. Everything from Dukes of Hazzard, fast and the furious, fall guy , cobra Kai, Batman, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Christine, Transformers, back to the future, twisted metal, it's just amazing. There's so many I can't even list everything. They have interactive buttons, which I thought that was pretty cool. They have restrooms and a water fountain to refill your water bottles. There is lots to read about the cars and you can even inquire which ones are for auction. I spent a good hour and a half here. I really like the way that they set things up in here and I'm sad to see them go, but you can still go this week before they close down (August 2nd, 2025) to find a new location. This is a really cool thing for people of all ages and I do recommend checking them out.

My last full day visiting the Denver area and I was looking to something kind of quick to do. I…read morethought this museum would fit the bill, so I came! The best part is that it has FREE Admission!! I parked out in the lot just off E. Alameda Pkwy near the front of the Aurora Municipal Center. I was kind of stumped as to where to enter the museum. I walked past the cool sculpture called "Light Of Dawn" by Rafe Ropek. If you keep walking on that sidewalk, you will find the entrance is at the far end of the building right near the gate/fence. I really wanted to see the 1913 Street Car Trolley! It is in a room all by itself. It has been immaculately restored! I like the vintage ads inside! There's lots of information about transportation, too! You can learn how Aurora started out and grew! There was a Buckingham Square Mall that opened in 1971. It had two Palace Guard mascots named Buck and Ham. It was demolished in 2007. It was rebuilt into what is now Gardens On Havana shopping center. I was fascinated to learn that there in a Mission Viejo neighborhood in Aurora. It was modeled after the Mission Viejo in Orange County, CA! In the exhibit of "Growing Home Aurora", there's an extensive collection of memorabilia! I found out that Niagara Bottling, LLC has a plant in Aurora! I wandered through the "Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora's Mexican Community" area. For history's sake, I should have eaten at La Cueva. It is featured in this area. The founders of the restaurant immigrated to the U.S. in the 1950's. There's an exhibit called "Tatanka: The Spirit of the Land" that has lots of beautiful Bison paintings by Arturo Garcia. On my way out, I picked up A Guide to Aurora, too! It lists landmarks and historic sites with pictures. It was great to learn about Aurora!

The museum is free and there's a lot thats being discussed to increase visibility. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. They have such a diverse knowledge about the history of Aurora and some of Colorado so feel free to ask questions. I learned a lot about Aurora. It gets such a bad rep and is most well known for tragedies. I never knew there was such history about this city. The hit of the museum and a must see is the trolley. I wish Denver had kept the trolley running so it made it special like in San Francisco. What a wonderful piece of Colorado history at the museum. You can also walk and sit in the trolley as well. Take the time to read the ads.

Filled, I tell ya! We left over an hour later with a small table, a handmade kiddie car rocker and three very nice pieces of art for our home (on 5'x5' oil painting and two watercolors). Randy is the ultimate antique store owner who knows and appreciates art and antiques and does an amazing job helping secure the load to survive the long and very windy trip back to Wyoming! When in the Denver metro area and looking for some cool stuff, hit Randy's and you'll be glad you did.

He helped another family move a large piece of furniture and he interacted so kindly with my young kids. This feels like a hidden gem of an antique shop. Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

They greeted us immediately and gave us a map of the property. We had fun walking around and checking out the animals and historic buildings on site. It is wild this place is right in the middle of a neighborhood. The only issue we had was parking because we the lot is full you're out of options.

The houses are located a good , hot walk from the visitor center, and I guess you can't drive closer.. our hike suddenly ended when we came upon this large snake! The staff was unfazed-a common beneficial bull snake-got our hearts racing!
