Worse experience I've ever had renting a car! I called the location 1790 S Broadway on Monday…read more Caleb transferred my call, letting me know they don't make reservations locally. I spoke with a gentleman where his English was seriously bad and barely understandable. Together, we finally made a reservation to pick up that Friday. I then called the location immediately afterwards, wanting to confirm a midsize SUV. Caleb confirmed my reservation and told me he would call me once that vehicle was delivered. Thursday before my Friday pick up, I called at 5:PM, knowing they close at 6. After being on hold for 15 minutes, their hold released my call, letting me know I must call back later. I immediately called back and at this point, I pulled into their lot @ 5:30 while my call was still on hold. I walked into a full lobby with no associate in sight. Everyone was waiting 20 to 30 minutes with no one around. At 6:PM, Caleb asked me for my name to pull up my reservation, only to not find one. VERY FRUSTRATING. I reminded Caleb, this is the same reservation he confirmed earlier that week. He said, "yes, I remember the conversation". But 4 days later, the reservation can't be found. He's response... "Yep"

First of all, I had a reservation time but had to wait for the car to be cleaned and ready. Even then, I didn't think the car was cleaned that well... The car play in the car doesn't really work. I wasn't the only one who tested it and it freezes or has a really hard time connecting with the USB plugged in. I was better off using my phone holder add-on, which was disappointing. The car needed maintenance in 600 miles and because I needed this rental until my car was repaired, it felt like another thing hanging over my head. Lastly, I had to fill up the air in the tires a few days after I got the car...I suspect a leak from the last driver. I feel like they could have done a better job checking and maintaining the car, so I'd have a different experience. The rest of the service was okay, and I unfortunately had to call back a few times about billing (my insurance agent told me I was incorrectly charged).

We took our vehicle in for an initial estimate with them and a repair date was scheduled a month down the road. We brought our car in at the appointed time. Mike, the owner called me once tear down was complete and estimated 2 weeks for the repair. They also had some warranty work they needed to correct on some prior damage. We were in a rental car through USAA. As time went on, we were told our car was "in production" over and over again. As insurance companies do, they only approve the rental car for the estimated amount of initial repair time (2 weeks). USAA called saying they had not received information from Hampden about a supplement and could not approve the rental without one, we called on conference to Hampden and spoke with Mike. Mike was argumentative stating that the car was in line for repair and there was nothing he could do. That there was no supplement, they were busy and would submit a supplement at the end of the work if there was one. USAA explained that they could not approve a rental for beyond the time allotted without a supplement and round and round they went while I, the customer, was stuck in the middle. Eventually USAA approved the rental for another 2 weeks despite not having any supplemental information. At the end of those 2 weeks (they've now had my car for a month) I was again stuck with no car and the end of the rental looming. I called Hampden again and spoke with Brian. He informed me that my car was in line for paint and was not ready. USAA approved the rental extension based on that for a week. Then at the end of the week, here we go again. USAA had reached the end of what they could pay for a rental without supplemental information. We again called on conference to Hampden and spoke with Brian. Not only was Brian not helpful he was rude and obstructive. He proceeded to the tell the adjuster that he wasn't going to argue repair time with her because she didn't know what she was talking about and my car was in line for paint. The adjuster responded that she has been in the business for 20 years and she understands how repair shops work. The conversation devolved from there . Needless to say, there was no resolution and the call ended badly. So badly in fact that the adjuster called me back and recommended that I report them to their corporate office, unfortunately, there isn't one. At this point, my 2-week repair was at 7 weeks and they could no longer justify a rental car. A week went by, now without a rental car and again I called Hampden expecting my car to be finished, after all it was in line for paint a week ago, surely it must be done by now. This time Mike fielded my call. My car still wasn't done and it was still in line for paint. When I inquired as to why my car sat for a week waiting for paint since I was told the same thing a week ago, Mike explained that they have 60 cars on rotation there. Some of those cars have been sitting for months waiting for parts and when those parts come in they get pushed to the front of the line further delaying my repairs. To his credit Mike did offer to pay for a rental vehicle and did cut us a check at the end. My car ended up taking an additional 2 weeks for a total of 9 weeks! For a drivable, minimal damage repair. Do they do good work, yes. Is it the most frustrating experience you will ever have, also yes. Hampden Auto body is like dropping your car into a black hole. Whatever they tell you for a time estimate is a lie, multiply it by at least 4. Don't expect them to work with the insurance company paying for your repairs. They blatantly refused to use the USAA online document submission system and refused to send the paperwork to justify extending the rental. Expect Mike and Brian to be condescending, obstructive and thoroughly unhelpful. I cannot recommend them less. There are plenty of good repair shops in Denver that are better organized, customer friendly and courteous

We joined as members, which turned out to be a great value since the membership cost less than purchasing individual tickets and allowed us to return throughout the year. Some of the toddlers were especially excited to see The World's Largest Dinosaurs exhibit (a separate ticket is required), which explores the biology and amazing anatomy of sauropods, the largest land animals ever to walk the Earth. We also enjoyed Discovering Teen Rex, which featured interactive exhibits for the kids. The fossil preparation lab was on display as well, showcasing Triceratops and Edmontosaurus fossils along with the tools used by paleontologists. Both exhibits were listed as temporary. The biggest surprise was the Wildlife Halls on the second and third floors. These 90-plus wildlife and habitat dioramas are beautifully detailed, many featuring enormous and exotic animals within realistic ecosystem settings. Everyone was impressed by how clean and vibrant they looked, especially compared to the classic dioramas at the American Museum of Natural History, which we still greatly enjoy. The Discovery Zone on the second floor was the biggest hit with the children. Designed for kids up to age eight, it offers a variety of hands-on exhibits. From uncovering buried bones in the sand to designing custom bug badges and experimenting with the force of moving water, it was difficult to pull the kids away. Outside the museum, there are additional attractions including animal statues, a playground, and a splash fountain. The museum is located within the expansive Central Park area, providing plenty of room to explore before or after your visit. We found the Denver Museum of Nature & Science to be well worth the visit and highly recommend it for adults and children of all ages.
