In Jason Ramey, we found the perfect person, amiable and professional, to do a Well-Check on our house. We had no desire to sell, we just wanted to know what needed attention. I had chosen Jason based on glowing reviews, his experience as a builder, the fact that he would include photos in his report, and the fact that he had a robotic device that could go under the house if he deemed it too tight a crawl space. (We'd been told long ago that our crawlspace should be dug deeper.) As it turned out, his robot was in the shop the day he came to our property, but he had no trouble going where he needed to go and was able to reassure me that the space was quite adequate. His entire demeanor, in fact, was reassuring, even as he told us about things that did need fixing. Jason was super amiable and good humored--the entire family was very comfortable having him in and out of our space for the necessary hours. He was also very generous with his time, giving us an in-person, post-inspection rundown of the key issues. I don't know if his schedule always allows for this; we felt extremely lucky. He followed up that evening (again, I don't know that he can always turn it around this quickly!) with a wonderfully organized, emailed report, just for us, complete with photos, that detailed everything inspected, and exactly what needed addressing and by what type of professional, if not the homeowner. He was very clear about time frames, too, and whether we needed to do it right away or could wait until we wanted to sell the house. At my convenience, days later, he went over the report with me on the phone to further answer any questions I had. I got a general home inspection from Jason. The entire process was great from start to finish. From the very beginning, I was met with excellent customer service. It was easy to reach someone over the phone. The woman who answered was professional and answered all the questions I had. On the day of inspection, Jason was very professional. I could tell that he is someone who knows what he was doing, a real expert. Throughout the whole process, he shared with me details about any defect he found, and what I can do to resolve the defects. The report is available online and is very easy to read. They say that the report is available in 24 hours, but I got mine about 1-2 hours after the inspection was done. Pricewise, it is worth the money. I called multiple different services, and they all charge comparably the same or much higher. If you can find anyone who offers the service for cheaper, I'm not sure if it is worth it considering the expertise, professionalism, and technological advantage (online report) that Ramey's provide. read more
