I used Yelp to find a home inspector for a new single family home. After speaking with 10+ home inspectors, Howard earned my business as he was the only one to take my call and listen to all my concerns. At the time of the inspection there were issues with the electric panel of the home. Howard proceeded forward with the inspection, and even waited until the electrician came to turn the power back on. I feel bad for taking more of his time than needed, but that's the level of professionalism you get with Howard. He was even willing to come back another day. The report was generated later that same evening and immediately forwarded to my builder. That morning I was given my first walk through and I was very happy with the aesthetics of the home but after reading Howard's report, he was able to address things and issues I wouldn't have even known about (strength of air flow of hvac, slight water leak under bathroom sink, missing safety harness for water tank). Recently did a home inspection for us at a townhouse we planned to purchase. Wow I am so glad I listened to my husband who insisted we get an home inspection. I was mostly enamored with a recent and beautiful remodel in kitchens and baths I didn't think we needed one. Like they say about putting lipstick on a pig. Howard found 3 major mechanicals that were end of life and very expensive to replace. HVAC roof unit plus corroded gas supply lines ($10k) + cracks in the tub bottom in a fiberglass shower over tub enclosure ($10k) + end of life water heater can fail (and flood) any day (cha ching). So happy we didn't get in a rush buying expensive real estate without a home inspection from Howard. He's our go-to guy from now on. Needless to say, we are moving on to other properties. read more

Howard is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough and that's what you want in a home inspector. He went on the roof, under the house, and in all of the hidden areas where problems lurk. From my experience, inspectors have to be asked to do that or just plain refuse to go there. He explains what's going on as he finds things (or doesn't) and if it's a serious problem or not. First, before Howard, I was told by many home owners that home inspectors don't climb on roofs, go into attic or crawl spaces. I would need to hire different specialist for each. I was stressed out bc all I could see was $$$ leaving my bank account. Howard arrived prior to our appointment time, introduced himself, explained the process, and started. Such a professional and through man. I followed him around and captured his work, bc that's just how I (Asian person) roll and he was cool with it. I asked him if he could inspect the roof in detail bc on the home disclosures the seller's inspector only used 'binoculars' to inspect (wtf is that?!?). Howard, advised me no need to to even ask bc he does it all. He got his ladder, safety ladder harness, and climb his butt onto my roof. During the inspection he found that our chimney wood sliding panels were damaged from water, so they would need replacing. After, he climb into the attic and found a few more problems needing attention: air duct pipes (whatever they are called) installed incorrectly; gas pipes only went to our laundry room -- I like gas stoves so now I need a plumber guy to extend that into kitchen (Mike with Kelly's Family Plumbing is who we used); electrical outlets had no safety reset buttons; he also check water pressure and gave recommendations as well. He also advised that our furnace is HELLA old and could crap out at any time, lol. Howard took his time, he took pictures of issues found, thoroughly explained in detail, gave solutions. We got his inspection report right away and sent to the sellers so they could fix some of the problems found, which they did...money saved!!! in this process of home buying any money saved is always a Bonus. Howard!!!! I could go on and on about how much you know your craft and for being so patient with me and my whole family (there was a lot of us there bombarding him with questions, lol) this would be a 10page review. I noticed water seeping into my home through a sliding glass door that I had installed in 2015 this past Jan 2023 when we had the horrendous rain storms here in No California. Due to the unusual circumstances involving this water intrusion and how it was coming in, I wasn't sure if it was the fault of the contractor who installed my door or the HOA's fault due to a damaged rain gutter. I decided to get a professional building inspector in to see if they could determine what the cause could be. After researching Building Inspectors online, I found Howard and his company RNC Inspections. I knew within minutes of talking with him that he had a lot of knowledge about specific issues related to my water intrusion and I felt very comfortable contracting with him for my inspection. He performed an entire inspection related to my water intrusion issue and compiled a comprehensive report which determined that there may be two entities that were at fault. Repairs have been made since Howard and I communicated last March, and some questions have come up in the interim. As a result, I contacted him recently to see if I could get his opinion on the subject. He responded right away with an invitation to call him. He has been so responsive and accommodating with his time in terms of discussing this issue with me, that I had to write this review. He's got a great deal of professional expertise in the building industry and also provides excellent customer service.
