Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Shreveport/Bossier area and we have tried all of the popular places. This location is also much better than the other Nicky's for some reason. Heading to Nicky's! I love going back home and getting to eat here. If we had one in Indy life would truly be perfect. Food is AMAZING! I've never had a bad meal here. Margaritas DELISH! You get them in a styrofoam cup which makes them excellent to take with you when you leave! Since we always stay at the hotel next door this is one of the perks I love. My go to, enchiladas &/or nachos. EXTRA jalapeños and I'm golden. Can't wait for dinner! read more

I first met Ulises a week before my birthday when I popped in to ask a couple questions about reservations and call ahead seating. I was informed that on 02/14/20 there wouldn't be reservations but probably we could call ahead and get a table. When Friday rolled around we called ahead and were informed that there wasn't a wait and a table would be ready when we arrived. It was and Ulises was our server. I specifically wanted the giant mixed fajita to share with the table , but it only came with 4 set ups. Not a problem though cuz an extra set up only cost an extra $5. So this behemoth fajita fed 5 for $71. It included steak, chicken, ribs , sausage, bacon wrapped jalapeño, bell pepper, onion tomato. And OMGosh it was delicious. Toss in some chips and salsa, guacamole, cheese sauce, a few cocktails one birthday song- and the dancing will commence. Seriously- we wrapped things up with a birthday dance. read more

Husband and I were looking for a particular restaurant near Harrahs Casino, found out it had moved..Decided to try Nicky's. We were immediately escorted to our table.. Excellent attentive server...Authentic Mexican cuisine dishes (not Tex-Mex)...Commercial Spanish rice and refried- beans aren't one of my favorites....Nicky's refried-beans and Spanish rice were homemade..(Outstanding)...I would recommend Nicky's Mexican Restaurant to anyone...Definitely looking forward dining there again...I'll make double sure to get extra containers both of the beans and rice....Great atmosphere...Wish there was a Nicky's where we lived..... read more

I've never been a big fan of this local chain...the food is OK. I've eaten at several of their locations and can't really rave about any of them. When I've eaten here it's been about convenience or fact that friends want to eat there. The one thing I can say is they carry Sol cerveza which is currently my preferred cerveza. So they get a thumbs up for that! read more

My cousins have been raving about this restaurant for years. I finally tried it a few days ago. All I have to say is YUM! I had their red sauce chicken enchilada plate. The food was fresh and flavorful. They make their own delicious salsa! Their margaritas are also ON Point!! I had a regular slush margarita and it definitely has alcohol. I only ventured over here cause it was next to the hotel but I'm very glad we made it. If you stop in do not pass up the carne asada holy crap it was soooo melt in my mouth good. I didn't know skirt steak could be so tender and done medium. I cleared the plate with ease as every bite was full of flavor flav goodness. The salsa needs work as it is very plain and has a ketchup taste but I didnt go there for the free salsa so I let it pass. It was my b-day and of course I was told on so they came out with a huge sombrero that they dropped on my cabeza, they sang and then made me dance with old lady Rosie. Did you all know that the chips that are left in the baskets after you eat get recycled and put back in the "warmer" Yes,the chips get recycled and so does the salsa.The salsa that is left in those little bowls after you eat gets dumped back in the bucket and mixed with the rest of it where they keep it,they do this in order to save money. Food is overpriced and employees are paid low wages. Rice and beans are not cooked daily that's why they taste bland and stale. I know these things because I have access to the kitchen! read more

Went for Father's Day lunch. Arrived at 2:35pm, waited 15 minutes for chips, soda's and to order. Food was ok, nothing fantastic. Went to pay bill, gave debit card, when I received my bill and debit card back, I noticed 2 totals. The second and different total was for a 4% charge for not using cash, in other words 4% more for a debit card. Asked waitress about the charge, she said "not my problem, owner made the charge". I refused to pay the 4%, my Wife paid in cash. We have in the past had a good experience, but will NEVER come back. You would think after re-opening they would be doing everything possible to ensure a customer's return, not the Nicky's and airline! read more

Hands down the best Mexican food! It's been my family's favorite since I was a little girl. Sometimes my parents and I will drive to Shreveport from Texarkana, just to eat Nicky's. I was in town visiting my grandbabies & we were starving. My son & his wife love getting take-out from here so we decided to give it a try. Parking was simple & it wasn't too crowded. I'm a Diet Coke fanatic & was a little disappointed that they only offer Pepsi products. I opted for water. Anyway, our server was fantastic! We never even had a glass half full! Everyone worked together & it made our meal enjoyable. We're Texans & didn't really care for the chips & salsa, but they weren't bad, just not as good as back home. I had the cheese enchiladas & they were pretty good. Everyone else also enjoyed their meals. The check was delivered promptly & I felt like it was a fair price. We were visiting Shreveport from Dallas and were starving and came to Nicky's after seeing the good ratings on a brochure. This place is nothing fancy, quite small, a bit of a dive. We were greeted nicely. Chips and salsa are free w/ any lunch or dinner entrée. The tortilla chips had a great flavor, and they put about a liter of salsa at each table, so you never run out which is a huge plus since its tasty! My hubby and I don't eat pork, so we were pretty disappointed when the server told us they cook their beans and rice in pork. We opted for beef nachos and they were so good we ordered another order! Beef was perfectly seasoned and they didn't skimp on the cheese or the topping which are all on the side. First -- & last -- time here. Just arrived in town, set up our 5th wheel nearby, and heard about Nicky's from a neighbor. We visited the Racetrack location. Both the exterior & interior are colorful, so I was looking forward to seeing if the menu would reflect the same. We were immediately seated & waited for our server to take our drink orders. I still had hope after waiting 10 minutes for *anyone* to come by... outside of the lady who quickly dropped chips & salsa on the table with few words. Chips were a bit stale, salsa too spicy for spouse. Finally our server arrives & takes both drink & food orders, after we declined starters. She seemed surprised we were ready to order. The food was okay, but our server seemed to forget our drink refills until our meals were done. She also didn't introduce herself until the food was delivered. Odd, that, but we're not in familiar climes, Toto -- things may run differently here! Since we'd shown up on a 2 for 1 enchilada night, the bill was cheap, but I really expected more for a 6:30 dine time. Oh, and let's not forget the employee who had a loud conversation *from the dining room* with a customer at the front desk! Why didn't she just go over to the desk & quietly speak to the lady, rather than stand behind hubby & yell her response?? Her final words? "We are done" after the lady left. Wow. No service....as we walked in, I understood that the man at front counter was asking if the girl wanted to serve us (in spanish)..with a disgusted face she said no. What a "welcome" feeling. Sat down for 7 min before water was served. The lady that said no ended up being our waitress; how wonderful. Food took 25 min (2 tables already had food and left) asked for sopapilla and it took 15 min...Best part....there's a small fly on the side...how great is that??!! Yum! Just what I wanted. Never did the server check on any tables! She and the others stayed on the other side of the restaurant and we waited 30min for a check..it never came. I look up and they are talking away, not paying attention to customers. I walk to her and never did she ask how it was...just handed me a bill. RUDE beware of the flies!
