We were a big group of 20+ people and I know that can be challenging for a kitchen to get the food out simultaneously, however my chile rellenos were underwhelming. It looked like it had been assembled quickly and not baked thoroughly and smothered in canned cheese to mask the flaws. The service was impeccable though and our servers were interactive. read more

This place has gone completely downhill over the years. It used to be one of my go-to restaurants with friends and family. Then it became okay, but still doable with how affordable it is, and now it's complete trash. The staff was friendly , the waitress brought our drinks swiftly. After we ordered it didn't take long to get our food. My wife ordered the Chimichanga and I had the burrito both were completely covered in a cheese sauce. There was no spices of any kind that we could taste. The rice and beans were bland. We didn't finish our meals. This was the second time we tried Trejo's Mexican restaurant. Both locations were the same. We ordered different meals at both places. If you are going to cook bland food at least offer a spice mix on the side. I also noticed none of the tables had salt and pepper or hot sauce on them. read more

Back in the 1980's when there was only 1 Trejo's -- out near Barksdale, this was our go to place. Our family would go to Trejo's every Friday night then come home and watch movies. The food was absolutely delicious. I've waited to do a review because of all the fond memories of old. But the food now is just okay. The wonderful seasons we used to enjoy don't exist anymore. The food is not the same. Bland would be a good description. But I'm giving them 3 stars because the servers are always very friendly and I do get full. Prices are okay for lunch but too high for supper. If they could just season the food like they did in the old days they could get 5 stars. I'm sorry to give this score for what was once my favorite Mexican food restaurant. read more

Would y'all PLEASE change the oil or do whatever is necessary so that the corn chips and taco salad bowls don't taste really rancid? I would say that at least 1/3 of the time we eat there, this is the case. It's really upsetting to order a large guacamole and then have to toss the whole bag of chips for a To Go order... not to mention how gross they taste/smell when the oil is stale/rancid. Deserves less than one star. Extremely rude waiter. I ordered and specifically asked that the cheese on my entree be well melted. When it arrives at the table, the cheese was not melted. I asked for it to be taken back so the cheese could be melted. The waiter said no, just stir it up. The food at this location has never been great but when you combine mediocre food with terrible service, it's just too much. I have made my last trip to this Trejo's. There are too many good Mexican restaurants to have to deal with this garbage. read more

If I could give it a zero, that is exactly what I would do! Yesterday, my family & I wanted to celebrate "cinco de Mayo" so naturally we began googling different authentic Mexican restaurants. Well, when pulled up to Trejo's, we noticed that no one was entering or leaving the building but they were exception phone in orders. I called, and called, and called time and time again. It did not ring, it was mischievously disconnected to avoid answering calls! We looked back at we now knew was the drive thru line and it was out to the road. We said, okay let's go ahead and get our spot because it's a must we celebrate this tradition today lol.. we got out of the parking space, got back in line and waited. About 42 minutes passed and we almost were to the window. Another 15-20 minutes passed, and gratefully we made it to the window! We greeted the owner, and asked to place an order. He stated, "NO! You must call, I'm sorry I cannot help you" then walked away!! I WAS LIVID!!!! I waited until he walked back and said to him, "SIR, WE HAVE BEEN WAITING IN LINE FOR NEARLY AN HOUR AND MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS THROUGHOUT THE WAIT TO CALL IN OUR ORDER." He looked at me and said, "no,no, sorry can't help you". I have never been treated which so disgusting behavior like that and I will tell EVERYONE MY EXPERIENCE on every Shreveport-bossier Facebook page, everywhere you will see this review! During this pandemic, my family has been in & this day was the ONLY one we chose to celebrate and get a bite to eat. So it's a real HARD SLAP IN THE FACE when you're mistreated, as if I am unequally important! If they treat their customers that way, I can imagine how they treat the food. DISGUSTING customer service! My family ended up settling for El Paso on Youree. Exceptionally clean. I like the food here, and the service is attentive and friendly. But I'm most impressed with the cleanliness of the Blanchard Trejos. The floors and bathrooms are always impeccably clean as are the tables. The first time we needed a high chair, I was surprised at how smooth and perfectly clean the high chair was! I have been to so many places where the high chairs are sticky and rough with adhered food. The high chairs at Blanchard Trejos are cleaner than any restaurant I have been to. The attention they give to detail shows they genuinely care about the comfort of their customers. The quality of the food and service is just the icing on the cake. read more

Each time I tell my wife,"This is our last visit Here!", But unlike before, I apologized to my wife,because her burger Was like, well, Boot shoe leather!, cooked Hours before,and warmed when ordered... Only this time,she's going back East soon, to visit her sister ,so the diet cut out bread, therefore all focus was on the patty, that was closer to jerky, than ground beef. My wife and I are fans of this place. The food is always fresh and the service is efficient and friendly. The food at this Trejo's is much better than that on Mansfield Road. This place always has a crowd when the adjoining restaurant isn't doing so well. Prices are also reasonable and there are TV's on the walls if you need the distraction. Highly recommended. read more

This is now the Blanchard Trejos? The food is quite good, although the portions are small on some dishes. The wait staff is friendly, unless the restaurant gets crowded. At that point, you might as well go elsewhere because the kitchen locks up and you'll sit forever. read more

What a shame... I grew up in this area and we had NO place to eat but now many choices but nothing worth driving to. I started eating at the original Trejo's when I was 13 working at a car lot near Barksdale in the early 80's so I KNOW what to expect from this place.... NOT here. The service is really bad and the cheese enchiladas are these flat empty things with a cheese sauce over them.....NOT the real cheese filled ones we used to get. I understand a lunch menu has lower grad or quantity food but NOT the dinner price. I am glad the chips and hot sauce is still good, at least that stayed the same. Also this location is in a strip mall but what is bad is the inside looks like a strip mall????? Skip this location and just go to taco bell next driveway south. This is not on a whim... My parents live just down the road and so does several friends and when I'm in town it is a good area to meet for dinner or lunch. I have Yet to have a good meal there.
