I don't know why this doesn't get higher reviews. You can't ask for better donuts. Very fresh, very fluffy, very light. Not overly fried. The wait was long but only because there was one person doing everything and the customer in front of us kept her busy. I'm glad we were patient because those donuts were excellent, particularly the buttermilk bar which wasn't sweet at all and not glazed. I don't remember the last time I was able to find an unglazed buttermilk bar. They happen to be one of my favorite donuts when done right, so I was really happy. Only donut shop I will go to it Red Bluff. They are awesome! I have been giving them my business for 2 and a 1/2 years, since moving out this way. Don't know how anyone could have a problem with them in any shape or form. Even during blackouts they are open. They are open now with the pandemic going on as well. Hello my name is Kevin B. and I am a donut-a-holic (many voices in unison) "Hello Kevin B." While I don't need to have a donut every day or even every week, there are times when I do when I just cannot resist having 2 or 3 or... yes even 4. Hey I'm not proud of being an occasional donut glutton, but it's not easy to control myself.... they are just toooo yummy! I noticed Ramos while driving by and decided to stop. I walk in the door and look over the display case. One thing I immediately notice is the donuts are a bit darker than most I see. But oooh they look tasty... maple, chocolate, glazed, buttermilk, apple fritters... YUM! I choose a maple buttermilk and an apple fritter. Now a lot of the time when I get an apple fritter, I could wring the excess grease or oil out if it. Yeah, kinda disgusting, right? However there was no noticeable excess oil in this fritter! It was crispy on the outside, light and soft on the inside and the sugar glaze wasn't on too thick or too sweet either. This had to be THE BEST apple fritter I've ever had! The buttermilk had a very light crispiness to it too, very tasty too! So yes, I am a donut-a-holic and it's a very good thing Ramos Donut House is a 7 hour drive away. If it were nearby I would definitely have to enroll in a 12 step program..... or go on a major diet! read more

They even allowed me to hair net up and o back and see the process and choose what I wanted! My husband pushed and pushed to come try this place out so we did. It was a full hour and half drive for us!! My husbands last name is the same so it was important to him to check it out! We enjoyed the yummy donuts! Great prices too. We got a lot of food for $7. And they were filled with lots of jelly. So yummy. And I loved the lady working there she was friendly and noticed the same last names. A lot of homeless on the area, and one of them had some type of mental health issue. The donuts I got from this establishment were good. However, the woman working had two small children with her behind the counter providing a distraction to her. She took longer than should be necessary to pack up a few donuts, and did not seem to listen. Plus, she was on a phone on what did not seem to be a business-related call. I'm sad to to say that this place needs a lot of improvement. I feel like it could be great and what it needs is a visual overhaul, a cleanup and a new commitment to excellence from the ownership down. The donuts frankly are not very good, the craftsmanship is poor (for instance, icing and filling are very sloppy, filled donuts are coming apart, the flavor of the dough was not very good under the icing, etc.) and the place feels unclean. There were flies in the case and just a overall dingy feeling. What I can say is that staff was really nice and welcoming, that counts for a lot with me. But to be honest, after my visit today, I wasn't going to be surprised if one of us got sick and I've never felt that way at a bakery or donut shop. read more

Came here to buy a bakers dozen and get nothing, walk in and her someone in the back cutting the dough, I tried to get their attention from saying something to ringing the bell but no response they even walked to the back and came back to the spot they were at before. My husband and I went in this morning around 9 for a quick breakfast on the go. I asked for a veggie burrito. When the cashier turned to the cook and asked for it he replied "no." And then after talking he said they were out of vegetables. We orered bagels which took longer than expected to toast. While waiting I asked where the bathroom was and was told there was none. We were given bags with mediocre bagels and to go packets of cream cheese. The cream cheese must not have been refrigerated properly because the liquid was separated and it was a bit curdled and yellowish. The only of reason I gave two stars was for the sweet and polite cashier. It's not her fault this establishment is poorly managed. read more
