Did not know when doors open at 8PM, it actually means the show won't start til 11PM. It was a long night of waiting. The venue was difficult to find. You have to go through this set of glass doors, and down hallway, past the ticket booth, and it's the last door to your right. The venue is cool if you want a more intimate show in a larger venue, and not some small bar. The acoustics are great, there is ample space to dance, and you can get super close to the stage. read more

I'm a big fan of this venue. Was there in September and really enjoyed the show. It's a small venue, but that's what make it so great. Multiple levels give people the opportunity to actually see the stage even if they are not standing in the front row. Parking garage and restaurants all next door. Highly recommend! read more

Concert was great tonight. I always love shows a rams head. But the garage that is above owned by central park is the worst. It took me almost a hour to get out. The pay machine was down and the garage got extremely backed up. This is not the first time the pay machine has been messed up in this garage. Kinda ruins the night seeing a great show then sitting in a garage for a hour. I will definitely go back to Rams Head but i will park somewhere else. read more

So I was gifted tickets from the yelp fairy for a Marsha Ambrosius concert and was pretty excited since I love her music.. I arrive at the venue close to an hour and a half after the doors opened and got my tickets from will call and was let in pretty quickly.. I do see why others are saying its a good idea to get there pretty early because at that point it was only standing room only in the back and on the side by the bars.. The show started a good 40/45 mins after it was set to start but I kinda expected it based on what others said.. Once the show started the sound did seem a little muffled despite the numerous sound checks (which I thought should have been done before the crowd was let in), and the drinks were really weak but I guess that's what I get for a $6 drink.. Overall it was nice to see a good artist, it would have been nice if I could sit or if I could hear better.. My biggest complaint of the night was half the venue/ half the parking garage.. Apparently the venue was supposed to either validate or switch out our tickets from the garage so that we could get the event price.. Well that wasn't done and getting out of the garage was a little of a hassle.. read more

I went for the first time on Friday to the Dru Hill concert. The venue was decent. It reminded me of those movies with cool rock concerts. Retro, dark and loud. The drinks were great and the fries yummy. We had VIP tickets that allowed us to sit upstairs. I wish they had more seating upstairs when VIP is offered but other than that I cant complain. We didnt have to wait in long lines for the bathroom or bar. I cant wait to go again for the Kelly Rowland concert (which is all General admission). read more

Went here to see La Roux. Ram's Head is a fairly acceptable venue. That said...it has an extremely manufactured feel. Everything about it reeks of corporate suits. The LCD tv's everywhere that advertise shows at other venues owned by the same corporate umbrella don't really help. On the plus side, it is shiny, newish, and extremely clean. It's a two floor venue. As other reviewers have said, the 2nd floor is great if you get to the venue early and can get a spot on the railing, otherwise it is totally worthless because you can not see anything (no joke). There's TV's upstairs playing camera feed from the stage, but...why go to a concert for that? Downstairs is fine; there's a bar flanking each side of the floor in front of the stage (convenient!), and the bar areas are raised up high enough that you can see the stage if you're sitting at the bar. Sound quality was okay at best. I was standing in the center of the first floor, in front of the sound booth. Vocals for all three bands were very difficult to hear and way too soft compared to the volume of everything else. Service fees and a "convenience" charge for printing your ticket at home are ridiculously high; fees were the highest i've ever paid, even compared to the venues i've been to in NYC. There's better options, but there is nothing glaringly bad enough about it to avoid the place if they have an act booked you want to see. read more

In Power Plant Live complex. Pros: They usually get good acts. Good dance area. Efficient bar staff. Cons: Limited seating. Only carry Anhueser Bush products. Expensive to park in garage. Limited food items (basically stadium food, pizza, burgers, fries, etc. I didn't eat). Put it like this: it's a good venue for up close look at quality acts. Obviously, you wouldn't go there if it weren't for the music. read more

I've been to many concerts here, and this venue rocks! They have plenty of bars so it's easy to grab a drink and then have a good time jamming out! You run into all ages at PowerPlant, but Rams Head is a guaranteed good time! read more

Rams head is arguably my favorite venue in Baltimore, especially in the downtown/inner harbor area. The atmosphere is the perfect blend of large enough to rage in, yet small enough to create an intimate connection with the artist. The sound is always on point in there and they have two (and a half kind of) floors with bars on both levels. The second floor set up is cool in that it wraps around the stage kind of like a balcony. The venue is in a great area too there are a lot of attractions in power plant to complement a sweet concert. Drinks are fairly priced for a city venue and they always bring top quality acts. Never been to a bad show at rams head and I've been there 30+ times at least. The staff are never too ridiculous with security and what not and the venue itself is really well designed. Lupe and the others did there thing. + Atmosphere was cool. + Parking garage was decent price + Great underground feel - Bartenders where not very attentive (wasn't crowded at all so no excuse) - The venue doesn't offer a whole lot of places to sit in case you just want to chill - Only food options looked like chicken and fries (didn't check the menu but that's all we saw) For baltimore, it's a pretty nice spot. Would I go here again? It depends on who's performing. Advice? I just want the option to get up and go crazy on the floor or sit back and enjoy the show without fighting for a seat. There needs to be more seating and a better bar menu. That's all. I had fun though read more

Would've given it 5 stars if they let me out in a different way. They told me to leave in the ghetto area. It was so unnecessary because I hate the ghetto. The place was great. They got some good bands playing and some gaming consoles over there. I had a pretty fun time. Some staff were friendly over there. This wasn't a bad place. read more

Weird Place. Deceptive actually. Upon arrival it appears to be a nice, cool place BUT.... The door workers and random other workers and patrons are really miserable people and inject their negativity into your mood. it'll cost you a tip every time you piss. Or leave with wet hands your choice. The Volume is TOO LOW for all the bands. You won't believe a live band could play so quietly!! Its like they don't have enough speakers! Then you have the bar patrons. They are cold, miserable people! Not friendly at all and as soon as the main act begins, it's almost like a gang riot. Groups of people trying to hurt everyone in the audience, slamming into anyone and everyone as if it's a GG Allin show. Then you have the extreme HEAT to deal with... it's about 90 degrees in there and you WILL SWEAT your ass off. We left after the 3rd song of the main band Against Me. It was just far too hot, uncomfortable and just NOT FUN that it quickly became obvious that any place else on earth at that point in time was better than being in this place! It's pretty bad when the "venue" itself has such destructive potential that it is not even worth coming to! I would never risk totally ruining another Friday night by going there. When you reach a point where you think that "anywhere else on earth is better than here" - you won't go back either! Nice try people but this place sucks! Won't see me again. It just flat out sucks all around. And the band didn't even matter - it was just so quiet and boring I mean I don't even know how you could make it better. It looked like the ceilings were too high for the sound system!!! Have a nice life. read more

As an avid show-goer, this venue is a major let-down. The floor plan is neither good for sound or viewing; it's just a terribly thought out venue layout. Sound is greatly disrupted by walls, which means you can hear people around the bar talking better than you can hear the performer. In addition to the upstairs obstructing sound, it is also designed in such a way that only people at the railing can see the performer. I provided a 2 star review solely because parking was a breeze. read more

Horrible customer service . I've emailed the manager 4 times and called them directly asking about a VIP area for my wife's birthday party . No one has responded yet . Its been 3 months since my first email. The show was great. And we love the venue. Still unacceptable that Gus didn't return a call or an email for the past 3 months. The staff that answer the phone are great but were unable to give us any definite answers to our questions and said we'd need to talk to Gus. With no returned calls or emails, we went to the show when the doors opened and luckily we were able to get 2 bar tables on the second level. Great Venue !! Not so great communication ! read more

I went to see ASKING ALEXANDRIA a couple nights ago. Place is nice. Clean. Nice set up. Nice balcony all around the stage. Great view if you dont want to be in the pit. Nice and small. U will get a great view no matter where. They even have stadium seats on 2nd floor to sit. The only issue was that the sound was extremely loud and not great. To the point where it was painful. I was actually wanting the show to be over due to the sound. If they brought the volume down a bit im sure it would have been enjoyable. A lot of fast food places near by and CVS. So far one of the best venues I have attended. read more

I came here for La Roux, Far East Movement and Francis and Lights and it was amazing!! I was literally 5 feet away from the stage. It was roughly 30 bucks for the concert including the transaction fees which is pretty good compared to the prices you would find in NYC. Overall it was a great experience, clean venue, and strong audio equipment. Loud enough to hear but not too loud where you go deaf. Can't wait till they have another great set of bands again. read more

We love Rams Head for a few reasons. The first is that you can park in the garage, take the elevator down to the box office, and head right in. Nothing better than not having to shlep a coat around in winter! The second is that once inside, you are rarely more than 20 feet away from a bar station. This is really helpful when you need a refill, but don't want to miss a sick groove. Prices are reasonable for a venue like this, and the acts range in genre but are usually solid. The vibe inside can feel like it's trying really, really hard to get you to like it, but once you get past that vibe, it's all good, brah. Crunchy groove time! Woohoo! read more

This is a great venue for concerts, though the set up of the main floor is all wrong for a large crowd (wanting to stand center stage). The best views are from above or on the left/right of the stage. There are bars on all 3 levels, so you'll never be thirsty! read more

Really intimate as far as larger music venues go. The sound was ok, nothing great. The balcony is nice and has nice seating but the views arent great. I suggest getting there early and camping out to the left of the stage. The right of the stage is where the main bar is and its a choke point. Really poorly planned. I stood in front of the stairs near the front, theres a nice pole there to lean on. Acoustics aren't great, I could hear the idiots a couple rows in front of me talking the entire time. read more

Nice "house of blues" sized club/venue near the inner harbor. Great sound and friendly/efficient bar staff. They have food too if you're coming right from work to see a show. Also the rock star bar is great, $3 well, $2/3 beer til the first band comes on if you wanna outrage read more

Pros: Staff was friendly enough, $10 parking garage nearby, area doesn't seem too dangerous, but you will absolutely be confronted by homeless people on your way in Cons: At 7:00, staff lead people from the END of the line (which had formed outside the door) in front of those who had been standing inside since 6:00!!!! Since it took me an extra 20 minutes to get through the line, I didn't get a spot with a decent view. The sound is so loud it's distorted, especially on the weirdly angled balcony which is feet away from the hanging speakers. Poor design. Very strange layout with small floor section, poorly designed, random balconies where only those on the front rail can see the stage, a weird seated area in the back middle section which looked like movie theater seating, and many poles and obstructions everywhere to top it all off. This place was definitely not designed for the enjoyment of a concert. Hard to see the band unless you are one of the first people to enter. There's a $10 upcharge to stand on the UPPER balconies. I paid $25 for the concert ticket, $10 for fees, and then I'm expected to pay more to stand way up top with speakers and a weird pole blocking my view?? This makes zero sense. Takes too long for the parking garage to empty after the show. read more

Great space that reminded me of D.C.'s 9:30 Club, with tiered viewing space. But less cramped. Great drink specials before music starts ($3 rail drinks). Area outside the venue was pretty rowdy, though, and has a shopping mall meets casino vibe. read more

This is a pretty good place to see a concert. However, if the band you're going to see isn't loud enough, you will only hear everyone talking. Another thing is there are a lot of rude, drunk people who are there. I would've given this place 5 stars if it hadn't been for the bad experience with going to see Seether. However, I went to see Killswitch Engage and they were super loud and I couldn't hear anyone talking which was awesome! Seether was a sold out show, so I'd say avoid the sold out shows, it gets too packed. read more

Went here for a concert and the girl who was checking ids almost snapped mine in half. Then they tried to make an excuse that my id shouldn't bend like that... and that there is nothing they can do. They need to train their staff identifying out of state ids. Now I will have to get a new id. read more

Overall the experience at rams head live was positive. They had lots of room in front of the stage. The sound quality was very good and worthy of any musical artist. The drinks and food served within are good but can be a little expensive because of the location. Parking can be a little rough in this location but there is some garages which allow you to pay for parking. read more

I'm surprised by some of the bad reviews. I've been there for dozens of shows and would recommend the place for sure. Are there some bad lines of sight? Yes there are. The great thing about Rams Head Live is that you can MOVE if you don't like it. That's also the bad part. It's really standing room only. There are a limited number of seats, but if you wants to see the show live (not on screens) you are going to stand. The sound has been very good to great depending on the band. The staff has been really helpful, drinks good and food in the venue - well eat before you get there. It's a concert hall not 5 star dining. I went to a Disney Teen concert there and was surprised at how great they did with 10 - 17 year olds as well. If there is someone you want to see and you don't mind standing -GO. It will be the closest you will ever get to the band. read more

Great place for live shows. Larger than your typical bar/club in the area and even compared to similar places in D.C. I like having the space and not feeling cramped which is a huge problem in many places when venues sell out. Plenty of bars with a decent drink and tapped beer selection and decent food (for what they have available). Acoustics in the place are sound. The music is not usually overbearing. You get to see the stage from many angles. Men's bathroom is usable, clean (for the most part) and I've never had to wait in a line, even during a set break. Never had an issue with parking either, there is plenty of garage space nearby as well as street parking. Thumbs up for the Ram! read more

Went to see my darkest days. Parking garage was $18 for the night. Got there at 7 plenty of parking. Garage is about a block away. Entrance was super easy and effortless. Plenty of room. Decent sized venue but smaller size keeps it intimate. Accoustics and lighting was decent. A few counters serving drinks makes it easy to access. Not much seating. Super close to the stage which was awesome. Over all a great time. plenty of bars and food right outside in power plant. We will definitely be back to see more shows. read more

The venue is large, but when near capacity, GET THERE EARLY. We went for Patti Smith and stood in the balcony for a while -- not bad if you can get first row or even second there. If you're third row (standing), you can't see a thing. Same goes for the first level. If you're not up front, you're in the back with bar/merch/bathroom light leak, and the ceiling of the first floor around the edges prevents you from feeling the full band experience. Course this was a crowd full of boomers and everyone apparently needed their personal 2' of clearance, which meant floaters (like us) were S.O.L.! read more

I came here for the first time to see Allstar Weekend. And I had such a great time. But the people who worked here could of been more friendly. But if your hot from dancing you can get free water from the bar out of the fountain with some ice. The 2nd time it went smoothly and I went to see The Ready Set, Downtown Fiction, and Allstar Weekend. And I felt like the people were more friendly too. And you can order tickets and pick them up at rams head the day of the event. And I am 16 and they let me pick up my tickets and I just used my school ID to show it was me since I don't have a license. And it was so much fun! :) And if you get to hot in the crowd and they have the balcony open, you can go up there! :) read more

This is one of my favorite concert venues to go to in Baltimore. I consider this the father of the 8x10. I been going to this venue since i was a early teen. Great view wherever you are. You go here for the music, NOT for the bar. Drink prices here are expen$ive for me personally. Their ramshead IPA is really good though. read more

I had the pleasure of attending the Daley concert, unfortunately the bar tender I have been to numerous concerts at this venue and never have I experienced such poor service at the bar. The Daley concert was awesome and I refused to allow poor customer service to rob me of a wonderful evening. I was elated to find the venue sparsely packet with just enough people to keep the large space warm but not so many that one's personal space was continually encroached upon. Usually the bartenders are friendly and attentive, but to my dismay this evening's crew left a lot to be desired. The bar near the first entrance door was sprinkled with few patron's,( just my luck). I approached the counter and patiently waited as the bartenders filled others orders. As those individual gathered their drinks and left the counter, I continued to wait for service. Other individuals approached the bar and had their orders filled, while I stood there waiting; by the fifth occurrence I was befuddled. First, I am a very tall woman, second, there was nothing and no one at the bar impeding one's view of me, and third although eye contact was made by both bartenders neither bothered to make an effort to inquire what I desired. I had to actually interrupt a patron's order for service. The bartender was curt and replied that she could make two drinks at once, never addressing the actual issue of poor customer service. Needless to say I no longer desired a drink; I put my money back in my pocket and just purchased the drink my friend requested. I left the bar and did not to return. When I told my friends what happened they didn't purchase any more drinks either. Poor customer service will not only ruins a customer's evening out, it can also hurt the bottom line of a company. read more

Great venue, second time coming here and it was an amazing night! The sound was excellent, you could see the stage from anywhere you moved to, didn't feel oversold or crowded, and the staff/bartenders were quick and helpful.
