We were working with a mechanic and the mechanic was unable to repair our vehicle so he ended up taking it to Ramsey and the part that was needed was not available... after a few back and forth phone calls that left us feeling very hopeless with Tara the Service Manager, we were connected with Derek and finally Mr. Mark Hyman himself. Mark was able to resolve the issues we were having and was able to get us in an amazing vehicle!!! Far better than what we had originally thought we wanted with a price that was fair even after paying off a loan from our trade (that was not running!). I would highly recommend Ramsey. Mark, Derek, Kyle, and Matt were exceptional to deal with and took a very sour situation and turned it around even better than we could have ever expected! I've been trying, for months, to get these "people" to answer me regarding open recalls on my car, and they don't return my calls or answer my emails. I'm writing to Ford in Detroit about them, and, if I still get no satisfaction, I'm going to the National Transportation Safety Board to file a grievance, as it gives the appearance that neither Ford, nor this dealer, have any intention to honor either voluntary or mandated recalls. read more

Where do I even begin. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! Let me start with a little bit of positivity. If you do end up buying a vehicle here use Pernell as your salesmen. He is a great guy and the best asset this dealership has. He handled my situation better than any manager did throughout my entire experience. Now to the good part. My wife and I purchased a 2012 F-150 here the second week of September. I actually live closer to the Ramsey ford in Rising Sun, MD and I found the truck online. I called the rising sun store and asked if they could have the truck brought to that location for me to come see. He told me yes, few hours later he called and said the Elkton store would not release the truck to them because they had someone coming to look at it that evening. Well that was a lie because I went to Elkton that evening to see it and wouldn't you know it...nobody else showed up to see it other than me. They just didn't want the sale to go to Rising Sun. Anyway, I go to elkton and end up buying the truck that night. Take the truck home and I may have had it 2 days and the front end starts making a horrendous noise that sounded like metal on metal banging around. I call and they tell me to bring it in. I drop the truck off and 2 days later they call me and tell me it was a vacuum pump for the 4x4 auto locking hubs and they fixed it. I go to pick it up and make it 5 miles and it starts again. I immediately take it back and tell them. They have a mechanic get in the truck with me and ride and at that time I informed him the truck had a bit of a rough idle, the RPM's would jump around from 500-900 roughly and he told me " That is just what the older ecoboost do" but, that he would personally work on it this time himself. I leave the truck with them AGAIN!! This time I believe they replaced the driver side locking hub. I pick it up I have it a few days, still has the rough idle and it starts again with the same noises that it always had in the front end. At this point I called and told them that I could no longer drive 40 min to elkton and that I would drive the truck to the rising sun location and they could figure it out from there and they agreed. Now, this time I spoke to Todd from elkton he is the used car sales manager. This time dropping the truck off I informed them about the same issue with the 4x4 in the front, truck still had a rough idle and now the rear sliding window doesn't work. They call me the next day saying they found a leak in the vacuum line running to the front hub and that they test drove it and it's good to go. I pick the truck up and it still has a rough idle and the rear window still doesn't work. I asked Tara the service manager in Rising Sun about the window and she said Todd never mentioned anything about that to her after he told me he was calling her as soon as we got off the phone but, she says she would order the window motor and I could come back to have it fixed. So anyway I take the truck home and the very next evening it is doing it again. I immediately call Todd and tell him what is going on. Now, I'll be honest. I was not at all nice on the phone and I don't think I needed to be at this point. In the midst of my rant about all of this to Todd he says to me that he doesn't know why I'm yelling at him because he's not the one that's fixing it. I hang up on Todd and call Victor which is the General manager. I tell him the situation and how I feel about Todd and he tells me to bring the truck back to Rising sun to be looked at for the fourth time now in a two week span and he would be on location personally to make sure it was done correctly. So once again we drop the truck off in rising sun. They call me the next day and tell me it took them awhile but, the front hub was loose and they really torqued the axles. I go to pick the truck up. Victor the general manager says they drove it 25 miles no problem. I get in it and within 5 miles it does it again. I told them I didn't want the truck anymore and they ended up reversing the loan and taking it back. WHAT A JOKE THIS PLACE IS!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

Got my car from Ramsey not even a year ago, and I've already had numerous issues. Every time I bring it back to the service department, they take it, asses it, and tell me there's no problem. The three times that there have been clear issues (belt noises, rotting tires, brakes squealing, etc.), the problems are never actually fixed. Always making me pay, even though I purchased an extended warranty and have the papers to prove it. They use terms and phrases like I'm stupid to make me think my warranty doesn't actually cover it. My car has been unusual be at least once a month since last summer. Currently in contact with Ford's corporate to have something done about it. For your own sanity, don't even consider Ramsey Ford of Elkton. Also, the branch manager there needs to watch his mouth. Caught him talking about me to the service about how I come in there all the time; he didn't know I was waiting right outside the door. Clearly I'm there for a reason. What a jerk. read more

Took our Focus in for some recalls and while they a good job with the mechanical aspect of the work, they test drove it for a hefty 14 miles and returned it with front quarter panel, rear quarter panel, and mirror damage on the passenger side. Didn't notice till we got back home and when contacted, they denied all and never returned promise callback by GM. Beware! Guess will have to eat this one and should have inspected for damage before leaving. Go to Newark or Bel Air for Ford service. read more

This Review is about their Elkton Location. DO NOT take it there for something as simple as tires. I made an appointment the previous day and was asked to bring it in at 8am the following day. I was initially told that they would need to hold it until about noon..4hrs to change the tires..ok so be it. I scheduled my appointments for the rest of the day as if I was going to have my truck back at noon. I take it as scheduled and was told it would not be done until around 2. 6 hours to change my tires, really?? I called to check on my truck at 2 to here it wouldn't be done for another hour or so. my appointment was for 2:30 and at 3:15 a girl came out snd told me that my lug nuts we're frozen and they couldn't rotate my tires so I told the girl that they already got me before for that and I had to pay 133.00 for new lug nuts snd they are not going to get me again, I went there for an oil change and I didn't get my tires rotated and I was charged 70.99 and I told the guy that that was an awful lot of money for an oil change, the last time I got an oil change it was 58.00 , I am not going back there any more for oil changes I will use the local garages for oil changes and maintances., and also it was 3:45 before I got out of there . one hour and 15 min for a oil change and 70.99 is just ridiculous. read more

This review is strictly for Ramsey's Service department in rising sun as I have not dealt with sales and cannot speak on there quality of customer service. As for there service department I will tell you that I am appalled how they handle clients. In the past I was greeted rudely but brushed off as maybe a bad day but until recently when I brought our fleet vehicle in about an issue that was prevalent from day one that we had a squealing in the driver side rear brake and was brushed off as morning rust and nothing more to now with 27k that the brakes are so bad that not only do the pads need replacing but rotors were so badly blemished that rotors needed replacement at a price tag of 950+ just for the rears which is insane. When I questioned why this wasn't addressed when covered under the limited ford warranty when I addressed at 5k 10k etc. they stated we couldn't mimic issue at time but now it is noticeable. I highly recommend staying away from Ramsey ford in rising sun for service. read more

We have a long history of purchasing new Ford autos and SUVs from Ramsey; but no more! Our 2011 Escape (still under warranty and under 50,000 miles) was our last purchase. Back in August the throttle body failed one very late evening over 25 miles away from home, and we had to call Ford Roadside Assistance. They told us we were not under warranty! We were! Had to call back with all necessary info. from our manual in the glove box. They told us we were outside the tow range. So, we called our local tow company and had the car towed to Oxford Sunoco. They looked at the car and diagnosed the throttle body failure and notified Ramsey. Ramsey too said we were out of warranty and it was not covered. Wrong again; we had nearly two years and 20,000 miles on this drive-train issue. It took numerous calls to Ford to get this all cleared up. A TERRIBLE AND TIME-CONSUMING NUISANCE WHERE RAMSEY TRIED TO MAKE US LOOK LIKE FOOLS! Finally, Ramsey agreed that instead of having the car towed to the dealership, by our mutual agreement, the work could be done and guaranteed by the Oxford garage (with which we have a long and happy relationship). The work was done well; the bill was submitted to Ramsey; and the new service manager said he was not aware of any such "arrangement" and they would not cover the bill. I told him Ford should cover it by warranty, and he said he would submit. I assumed all was well until April 11 of this year when I received a bill from Oxford Sunoco for nearly $172. They said Ramsey was not cooperative or helpful. Adding insult to injury, I had no idea this had gone on for over 6 months...no notification from Ramsey at all! Bottom line, I paid the bill, but not before I spoke again with the curt, rude, inflexible, and antagonistic service manager at Ramsey. His customer service skills were in the negative range, for sure. I have filled a complaint with Ford by phone to a service rep who was "appalled" at the entire incident (he had all details in front of him). They are supplying me with forms for written documentation as well. Needless to say, at age 67 and only buying a new car every 5 years, I will NEVER PURCHASE A FORD AGAIN and I wouldn't dream of ALLOWING ANY OF MY FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, FAMILY MEMBERS, CHURCH FAMILY, AND RELATIVES DO BUSINESS WITH SUCH A HATEFUL BUNCH! The damage done to the Ford line and Ramsey franchise is huge when compared to a simple little warranty coverage bill and friendly customer service that could have avoided this entire ugliness. AND DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GLITZY NEW DEALERSHIP IN ELKTON, IT'S THE SAME CALLOUS BUNCH WITH THE SAME GENERAL MANAGER THAT SHOULD HAVE INTERCEDED ON HIS CUSTOMER'S BEHALF, BUT DIDN'T. My husband and I went to Ramsey Ford of Rising Sun to buy a new F250 Transit Van. Our salesman, Nate, was absolutely the nicest salesman I've ever met and had the pleasure of doing business with. He was down to earth, funny, knowledgeable and best of all, NOT PUSHY. We ended buying a new 2016 F250 Transit Van and a new Ford Explorer Platinum. That's a good salesman. We, of course, also dealt the manager and the finance person. Both of whom were equally as nice. We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely use them for our future purchases. read more

GREED, GREED, GREED; Went to Ramsey Ford of Elkton where I bought my last two new trucks. Test drove a 2018 and liked it so I had them estimate MY truck for trade in. Let me start by saying their estimator is a true mental midget. Got in my truck, engaged the locking rear diff and 4 wheel drive and started driving it around the lot grinding rubber off my tires ( BECAUSE YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO RUN EITHER ON DRY PAVEMENT ).!!! That just pissed me off. Then all said and done they wanted 44,000 for a XL truck and offered me 21,000 for mine, a XLT with 10,000 in factory upgrades. I researched equally equipped trucks matching my year, mileage and drive train and they were selling for as high as 34,000. So Ramsey's sale is actually them trying to duke people into paying for their new facility. WILL NOT buy another vehicle from this place. read more
