When I tell you my expectations were low, I mean I thought I'd get a cheeseburger with a side of meth. This place is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. It was the first restaurant I'd seen in like 50 miles, but I was STARVING. My expectations couldn't have been more wrong, this place is incredible. The Ranch House Diner in Snowville is great....if you're not a person of color. In that case, your waittress - the tall blond one - will fill your water, take your plates away, and ask if you want dessert. If not - if you are maybe one of the only people of color she's seen in a while - quite likely given the location - she will leave your plates sitting, empty of food with napkins on top, obviously finished, without ever taking them. She will not refill your water for two hours. She will not ask if you want dessert. You will witness her do this while taking the plates, filling the water, and offering dessert to everyone around you, including people who came much later. When pressed, she claimed she thought I was 'in a meeting' because I was on my laptop - despite me not talking, wearing headphones, nor having Zoom up. In other words she lied to our faces. You know how, when you are at a restaurant, you look around and meet eyes with your server and she comes over? Ever do that for two hours - in a small place where she is constantly less than 6 feet away - and have her NEVER do that? Draw your own conclusions. By the way - myself and my companion who was also shocked at our service have served in all kinds of places, from small cafes to fine dining at luxury places...and in the nicer places this would be unfathomable. It's not possible that that would occurs at a place like that. At more casual places, you understand things could be left 30-45 minutes if you were slammed. But after an hour? And the restaurant not slammed? As to the food: bacon: excellent. Hash browns okay. Sausages - burned. Prices: a bit high. Service: pretty good for anyone who is not a person of color. read more

As you're driving north on I-84, just about as far as you can get before leaving Utah, you'll find this lovely diner in Snowville. The town is named after LDS leader Lorenzo Snow, not for Frosty's DNA make up, I learned from reading the back of the menu. The diner has a very small town feel to it with log cabin décor and deer heads hanging on the walls. Service is welcoming and friendly-the server made small talk with us and I noticed she called several patrons by name. I'll bet there are plenty of locals that come here regularly. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the eggs, hash browns and bacon. The home made jam was a bit runny for my liking and my wife said the biscuits and gravy were just ok. read more

What a pleasant surprise! This diner was clean, had friendly service, and good food. The fries or buffalo chips are a must have as they were made fresh. My family enjoyed their Reuben sandwiches (very healthy portions) and I was pleased that my salad was fresh and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Parked at the truck stop for the night and needed some good food. Walked over to the restaurant and was immediately greeted upon walking in and seated. It is about a 30-40 seat diner. Great ambiance and very friendly staff. I ordered an 8 oz. Prime rib med. well with green beans and mash potatoes with brown gravy with toast. Steak was cooked to perfection!! Green beans and potatoes were locally sourced and dam good!! I also tried their home made strawberry and raspberry jam and it was a reminder of being back at my GG's they tasted like they were fresh picked and stewed yesterday! I ordered dessert as well pumpkin pie muffin with whipped cream and it was a smooth flavorful muffin. Now If you are ever in the area definitely stop in as it is DAM sure worth it!!! read more

They have senior menu which is economical for older people and smaller portions. I had ham and cheese with taco soup. Definitely comfort food. My husband had grilled cheese and taco soup. Both were very good. The waitress was very friendly and Efficient. The food was prepared quickly. The Resturant is decorated in ranch theme. Looks clean. Was comfortable. The ranch house has a homely feel with a small shop on the other side of the restaurant. The server/cashier was quite busy so the order took a while, no biggie. I ordered the rawhide burger with fries. The fries were fresh, a bit soggy but hot and tasty. The burger was pretty good, it had pastrami, sauerkraut, cheese and of course the burger. Tomatoes, lettuce and pickles were served on the side. The sauerkraut added a lot of vinegar-flavor so I don't think the pickles were needed. Also, if you mess with the outhouse decoration on the table, get ready for a surprise. read more

Driving through desolate places there really aren't many establishments to stop at so you kinda just stop and hope for the best! Coming here I didn't really know what to expect but what we found was what's totally good in every way as they are doing it right here from the friendly staff to the yummy food that made for what was all good! Of the options we just kinda shared what we wanted so we ordered a variety of things from pie slices to chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was decent the best part had to be the gravy as it just made the steak and mashed potatoes good for what they were. The pie was super yummy and full of that fruity berry goodness that we so wanted complete with that ice cream! Beer battered onion rings you can't ever go wrong with so we just ate them right away because that's what all in all I really wanted. As random as it is my favorite part of the meal had to be the cup of taco soup because it was just yummy and made me think of the random soup combinations I come up with at home. Overall yummy meal for the right price so if your passing through definitely stop because it was what was totally good for us on this given night! read more

We really wanted to give 5 stars. The people were very nice - both the server and the fellow customers. I love small-town diners. One customer raved about his steak so the Hubbs ordered one too. It came with a really big dinner salad and choice of fries, chips or onion rings. He opted for the homemade chips. He was a little disappointed - he felt the steak was over-seasoned and was cooked well past medium-rare. I tried the San Juan sandwich which was great. I've been stopping in Snowville to eat here for decades, as life has me shuttling between Washington/Oregon and Colorado often. Sadly, the last three times I have been through the Ranch House Diner has been closed. Not sure why. There is a "For Sale" sign out front and signs in the window saying "CLOSED ON SUNDAY, MONDAY, and TUESDAY." Well, here I am on a Wednesday and it is also closed. Very sad. The last two times through we ate at Mollie's diagonally across the intersection. Once for lunch and another for breakfast. Try there if indeed The Ranch House is closed permanently. read more

Two little rectangular buildings and a gas station are about all that you see in this little burg. Ranch house is the one we chose cuz I love a cozy booth and this had plenty. Had a lovely chicken breast salad with carrots and a few cucumbers. Son had fries and hubby the buffalo chips with their Cowboy burgers. Burgers were good and juicy. Small gift shop which I bought a lovely car basket and some Redmond onion salt. Supporting the shop there. So we just had water and I ordered the Senior Ranch Omelet it came with hash browns and one piece of my choice of I slice of toast( rye). AND it truley was senior size... nice n small portions on a smaller plate too! Perfect! Bf had the ham n chz omelete with the Grover's hash browns( ham, peppers, onions etc). Stopped in on the way to Washington state. Staff was friendly. It was a unique local eatery. We ordered: patty melt, homemade fries; pork chops and onion rings; chicken breast and corn and salad. We all enjoyed all of our food. The restaurant was short-handed, but still accommodating. Our server, who was also one of the owners I believe, was very nice. This is another tough one for a small town place. When you're an "outsider" it's tough to walk into a place that has locals both outside and inside giving you the side eye. Thankfully the waitress/hostess was very nice and helpful. The food was pretty good for local comfort food, but man, the flies that seemed to have invaded the place was not okay. The hostess acknowledged the problem, even said she tried to kill as many as possible when there was no one in the dining room, but it was a losing effort. I can't recommend a place that has this unfortunate combination of unwelcoming locals and flies. If y'all can get that in line, it's a much better experience. read more

The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff friendly, and food good. I would definitely stop by here if passing through again.
