The food is good but, for take out the service is terrible. The person whom took our order was giving us such of bad attitude. An I still try to keep my cool but when I got back to hotel room, there was no silverware in the bag. Don't know how do that people expected for us to eat the food. I don't understand how a restaurant can fall so far. When they opened, years ago, it was so great...now? Nope. I ordered taco salad for gosh sakes - how can you mess that up? Everything was 'watery', no tomato (which I requested) I asked no beans and no sour cream and got both. Flavor was off and my husband's meal was so sparse...really, had I been the waitress, I would have refused to serve it. Staff did not seem happy to have jobs there. While Los Arcoiris is not the super outstanding, great, fantastic Mexican restaurant that many people are searching for, it is a good, solid Tex-Mex place for quick Mexican food. WIfey and I have been going to Los Arcoiris for many years...and have settled on a couple of dishes that we both enjoy. Wifey loves the Chicken Chimichanga. This dish comes with the ubiquitous Mexican Rice and Refried Beans. The rice and beans are nothing to write about...they are filling without being great. My dish is quite interesting...as Los Arcoiris is the only place I have found it. The dish is Huevos con Chorizo, basically eggs with Chorizo sausage. I absolutely love this particular dish. There is not much to eat in this area, but at least you can say there is a good Mexican restaurant here. This is our go-to restaurant when where in the mountains. So far everything I have gone from here has been delicious. I even really enjoy their cheese dip which was not runny. Sometimes when you go to restaurants you get runny queso and I'm just not a fan of that. The torta was giant and tasted great. If you're in this area and wanting Mexican this is a must. read more

We stopped in after visiting Linville Falls! From the moment we walked in we were in for a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated in a booth. We were hungry. Very hungry. The chips and salsa arrived quick and on the house and opened up our appetite! You must get the guacamole. It isn't chunky, but rather smooth and delicious. The lunch specials are ridiculously tasty, authentic and such a great deal! I had the chicken verde enchiladas and everyone else had their own lunch combo! Clean, delicious spicy salsa, fast polite service. We all loved our meals. I had the tacos de carne asada- delicious.

Let's put it this way, the meal started with the best salsa I've had to date. I'm 43. That's when I knew something was special about the meal I was About to have. I wasn't even planning on eating but it opened up my appetite which led me to follow up with eating the fajita lunch meal which was simple, clean and full of flavor. Add to that the price. It felt like a crime to walk out of there paying as little as i did. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. . Simple food shouldn't be pretentious. This was definitely not. Anybody who is thinking that it would be a good idea to open a Mexican restaurant needs to learn from actual Mexicans. Gringos don't know. Our go to Mexican when we are in Linville. So good. I love the Loco Chicken meal. Pollo Loco, I think it's called. So yummy.

Two stars because the members of our group who ordered a chicken dish both got sick afterward. The beef dishes didn't seem to come with any health issues. Overall just ok food. Generous portions but rather bland and questionable quality. We won't be back. read more

The food was pretty great here! They stayed pretty busy while we were there and t looked like there was only two guys working so service was a little slow but nothing to get really bent about. I got the enchiladas supremes and they were all really good. I don't really like chicken anything in Mexican food so I could have done without that one but it was good for a chicken enchilada too. So far, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The waiters are incredibly nice and sometimes fun as well. The food is always on point! The ACP Tex is my favorite dish. My friend and I are both vegetarian and we found several appealing options without resorting to filling up on the meh rice 'n' beans side plate. Highly recommend the fajitas: oniony but delicious, and they were amenable to the substitutions we requested. Salsa is also quite good.
