Started coming regularly to the library this summer with my son (5) and daughter (1). I have nothing but good things to say about the book selection, the cleanliness, and the functionality of the space. My children enjoy checking out their books and returning them in the kids bin. There are many picture books, chapter books and easy readers to choose from that fit all different interests. My personal favorite thing was the summer reading program that incentivizes my son to read and got us in the habit of enjoying our family read-alouds. The other great thing is the bookstore where you can find many great books for only $1-$2 on for sale.

Yelp Review Challenge 2018: 20/100 PROS: 1. Great lighting especially in the reading room where there are floor to ceiling windows 2. Different levels of privacy from study rooms, booths, and individual cubbies 3. On your study break you can go outside and walk to the mall food court 4. Close parking garage, hardly every full 5. Free WiFi 6. Lots of plugs 7. Everyone is mostly studying so it's quiet CONS 1. GETS CRAZY PACKED 2. Hard to find a spot most of the time 3. Closes early 4. No eating in the library 5. Can only rent a study room for 2 hrs 6. Only one person in a party can rent the study room in one day

One hidden gem at the Biane Library is the PASSPORT SERVICE. You can print out the necessary forms online, fill them out, bring them to your scheduled appointment at the library and be finished with the process in a matter of minutes. The fees vary depending on what you apply for. If you need passport photos, they also offer that service. (Photos are cheaper at Costco.) I had my new passport within a couple if weeks! It couldn't be easier or more convenient for me. It beats standing in long lines at the post office! The entire detailed process is explained on the library website.

Aesthetically this library is beautiful but I think it is mostly for show. It does not seem to have a large selection of books and it is located in a mall. It would probably be a nice place to study and relax.

Quiet Reading Room. Lots of comfortable chairs and a couch.

The space is bright, organized, and thoughtfully designed and every section feels purposeful, from the cozy reading nooks to the tech-friendly study tables. One thing that I find here that is truly awesome is their bookstore. For me, I've bought several books here that I used for scraping in my travels and I absolutely love coming here to buy books for cheap that I will just end up scrapping. You'll find most books are no more than one dollar and amongst all the local public library bookstores that are offered, I have found this one, the largest and the cheap cheapest. Love it! Just be mindful, they only accept cash when making payments. In addition, you can print things out, but you will have to pay using cash only. The library also offers great programs with creative workshops that make it more than just a place for books, but a true community hub. You can find a monthly calendar located inside of different events that are ongoing. Parking can be very hard here when busy. I haven't figured out why they haven't opened the parking structure that's adjacent to it. It's been sitting empty for a months now. I always dread when I'm gonna be going to the library because parking is very hard here so just be prepared spaces are limited. It's one of those rare places where you can slow down, think clearly, and leave feeling just a little bit better than when you walked in. Bathrooms super clean!

I wanted to visit a friend in town and decided to work from here for a few hours as to avoid traffic. It's a great space to work from, there's plenty of seating and outlets for your electronics. I sat by the window and there were outlets at the base and they looked a little older, but they work. I decided to get a library card and Sophia helped me out and she was so spunky and nice and she called me friend, it was a really pleasant experience! She also explained to me the different benefits of the card like checking stuff out from the library of things and logging onto the cloud app to access E-books and/or audio books. They also have crochet & knitting meet-up here. Parking was easy and located behind the library.

I guess I've been to this library twice now, and am also getting old. I visited this time around because my book was the One Book, One Ontario pick for 2025. It was a huge honor to have my book selected, and I was very happy to participate in the author event last month and meet so many lovely, thoughtful readers. Librarian Starla Villalba did a wonderful job both organizing and moderating the event. She also decked out the main entryway of the library with displays themed around my book, all designed to engage community members. I love libraries and love to see them thriving due to the hard work of passionate librarians. The Ovitt Family Commmunity Library is a valuable resource for the people of Ontario. I live a little far away, but life is long, I'm sure I'll be back again someday.

We booked the 1.5 hour tour, which was a guided tour of the house that Maloof built and lived in until his death, and a self-guided tour of an art space, some grounds, and a wood working shop. Filled with his beautiful, handmade pieces of furniture and decor from others, this house is a real treasure to behold. Traveling from room to room, we learned Maloof's history and influences, and of those who admired his work, and learned about his dynamic wife Alfreda. (Not a word was said about Sam's second wife!) I wish I would have met Alfreda, as she sounds like she was really something! Our tour guide could have been better: I though he was boring, talked a lot about himself, and neglected to tell us certain things, like alerting us to the wall in the final room that showcased photos of prominent admirers of Maloof's work (like President Jimmy Carter), as well as the fact that he had been awarded a MacArthur Fellowship Grant. It would be fun to take a class in this environment. There was a live music performance, free for all.
