2nd Visit All the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I would like to mention Tristen for his help on my initial visit and Tracy on my most recent visit. They were both attentive and showed willingness to help and go the extra effort. This is a smaller library, yet very quiet as it should be. It was not too busy later in the evening. This will be my go to library to relax, read and check out books I highly recommend

Located on Archibald. I haven't been to this library for many years. I used to bring my son here for story time and check out books for him to read as a child. It was so good to see this library surviving the pandemic. Only had to get a new library card. Employees here are so nice and helpful. Enjoyed my time here.

I am not a bIIg library visiter, due to being dyslexic, dus I still love to read, I just rather buy the book and take my time. This library happens to also have a store with used books, and that is exactly why I love this place. As a customer, you can have it both ways!

The Library started a seed library!

Love that the Archibald Library (and the Biane Library) have added a seed library to the locations! It's so fun growing things I normally wouldn't think about.

One of the shelves of used books at the excellent Friends of the Library bookstore. They also sell used puzzles, CDs, and DVDs.

The space is bright, organized, and thoughtfully designed and every section feels purposeful, from the cozy reading nooks to the tech-friendly study tables. One thing that I find here that is truly awesome is their bookstore. For me, I've bought several books here that I used for scraping in my travels and I absolutely love coming here to buy books for cheap that I will just end up scrapping. You'll find most books are no more than one dollar and amongst all the local public library bookstores that are offered, I have found this one, the largest and the cheap cheapest. Love it! Just be mindful, they only accept cash when making payments. In addition, you can print things out, but you will have to pay using cash only. The library also offers great programs with creative workshops that make it more than just a place for books, but a true community hub. You can find a monthly calendar located inside of different events that are ongoing. Parking can be very hard here when busy. I haven't figured out why they haven't opened the parking structure that's adjacent to it. It's been sitting empty for a months now. I always dread when I'm gonna be going to the library because parking is very hard here so just be prepared spaces are limited. It's one of those rare places where you can slow down, think clearly, and leave feeling just a little bit better than when you walked in. Bathrooms super clean!

Summer slide? Not here!…read more The San Bernardino County Library's summer reading program made all the difference for my son. Not only did he avoid the dreaded summer slide...he actually grew in his reading level! At the end of kindergarten his AR score was 2.9, and now, starting first grade, he's already at 4.3!! The Fontana Library makes it so easy to stay on track and engaged. Books in the children's section have the AR number right on the spine, so my son can confidently pick books that are both fun and challenging. And the selection? HUUUGE! He loves choosing a new topic each visit (like space, dinosaurs, or sharks) and then finding books at his level. The staff in the children's section are also amazing! Willing to answer his many questions, get excited for reading with him, and help point him in the direction of the topics he is looking for. The prizes from the summer reading program also added additional motivation for him! Weekly rewards and chances at bigger prizes kept him motivated to read every single day of summer! We're so thankful for the resources, creativity, and encouragement the library provides. Highly recommend this program (and others the library has) to any family looking to keep kids engaged and excited about reading!

I wanted to visit a friend in town and decided to work from here for a few hours as to avoid traffic. It's a great space to work from, there's plenty of seating and outlets for your electronics. I sat by the window and there were outlets at the base and they looked a little older, but they work. I decided to get a library card and Sophia helped me out and she was so spunky and nice and she called me friend, it was a really pleasant experience! She also explained to me the different benefits of the card like checking stuff out from the library of things and logging onto the cloud app to access E-books and/or audio books. I guess I've been to this library twice now, and am also getting old. I visited this time around because my book was the One Book, One Ontario pick for 2025. It was a huge honor to have my book selected, and I was very happy to participate in the author event last month and meet so many lovely, thoughtful readers. Librarian Starla Villalba did a wonderful job both organizing and moderating the event. She also decked out the main entryway of the library with displays themed around my book, all designed to engage community members. I love libraries and love to see them thriving due to the hard work of passionate librarians. The Ovitt Family Commmunity Library is a valuable resource for the people of Ontario. I live a little far away, but life is long, I'm sure I'll be back again someday.

We booked the 1.5 hour tour, which was a guided tour of the house that Maloof built and lived in until his death, and a self-guided tour of an art space, some grounds, and a wood working shop. Filled with his beautiful, handmade pieces of furniture and decor from others, this house is a real treasure to behold. Traveling from room to room, we learned Maloof's history and influences, and of those who admired his work, and learned about his dynamic wife Alfreda. (Not a word was said about Sam's second wife!) I wish I would have met Alfreda, as she sounds like she was really something! Our tour guide could have been better: I though he was boring, talked a lot about himself, and neglected to tell us certain things, like alerting us to the wall in the final room that showcased photos of prominent admirers of Maloof's work (like President Jimmy Carter), as well as the fact that he had been awarded a MacArthur Fellowship Grant. It would be fun to take a class in this environment. There was a live music performance, free for all.
