Omar, the owner, is a hometown boy. The cousins, Chris and Krishna, are exceptional, as is their boss. If you think the guy with the 'stache is being rude, I guarantee he is not serious; sometimes his superhuman drollness doesn't translate. Omar stocks specific items for me and other customers; where else is left that does that? These guys feel like an extension of family, and I couldn't feel more welcome or comfortable if they were. I was in this area looking for liquor and this was my 2nd stop. I was already prepared that this place wouldn't have what I was looking for and I was ready to resort to going to the grocery store 4-5 stop lights away (aka too far away). They have enough alcohol selection that I found a variation of what I was looking for but not the exact one so I settled for that. The man working the liquor store had a slight attitude. I picked out my liquor and before he started ringing it up he said, "you have ID, right?" as if he expected me not to. Like duh I have ID, I'm not about to pull an under 21 move and say I forgot my ID. He probably gets kids who try and do that at his shop and won't tolerate it. Once he saw my ID he relaxed a little so have your ID out and ready if you're even thinking of buying alcohol here. read more

Under the old ownership, this place was terrible. Prices were way too high and I always wondered if the person at the register was charging me extra. New ownership is awesome. Everyone who works there is friendly and happy to help. Prices reflect more of what things should cost. Their beer selection has gotten better and better as time goes on, and I was even able to request that they pick up some stuff from a local brewery that I enjoy. To my surprise they did! Horrible first impression!! Right when we pulled up, the cashier stood at the entrance for a good 25-30 seconds just staring at us blankly and then walked straight back in. Then when we walked in, first thing out of his mouth was "If you're gonna buy alcohol, I need an i.d." When we walk to the counter, before we were even rung up, the guy says "hurry up, what do you want. we close in 2 min." Okay??? We came 15 minutes before the closing time and we were getting rung up at 10:48! They close at 11! And that's not all folks! When we were paying, our amount was 19.10 and when we were grabbing our cash, he said "why don't you just give me the 20?" When he already had $19 bucks in hand and we were simply grabbing a quarter more. Everyone has a bad day but when you work in customer service, part of the job is to leave your personal life behind and be a professional at work, no matter the job. This store just changed ownership late last year or the beginning of this year. The new owner is a very nice man to everyone who comes in his store and so is his employee's, they are so helpful and friendly and provide such excellent customer service. They also have the best price's on liquor, wine & beer and have a huge selection to go with that, which is awesome for someone like myself. Just recently changed owners. Store looking pretty organized, but apparently that is more important than putting a sign on your fountain when it is offline. My partner was also TOLD not to get his can of tea from one of the coolers, that they he needed to get it from another cooler. The justification for "telling" a customer what to do had to do with a new product location. I'm in retail as well...you do not TELL a customer what to do. You advise them of changes only. read more

They have football jerseys that i have been interesting in buying. I have been in 4 times with cash in hand ready to purchase jerseys, but just wanted to know if the owner was able to get the sizes i needed. i left my phone number 4 times with the nice lady that worked there to have the owner call me. Never happened, he is to "big time" to reply to a customer of 30 years for a simple request apparently. For that reason, he will not get a penny of my money ever again. Of course, by the owners actions he wont care if he loses a loyal customer. I have since found a MUCH better liquor store that was able to get me my jerseys and ended up ordering 12 jerseys total as my fantasy football league all pitched in for their own. I tell everyone i know about the lack of effort to help out a customer at rancho liquor and also tell them all about the new liquor store i found, that appreciate their customers. Sorry you couldn't find 1 minute of your time after i took my time 4 different visits to give my number and ask for a simple phone call. Hope i can get a lot more people to stop doing any business at this place, period. 30 damn years of going in this place and giving this guy money. I feel stupid. read more
