We usually come later in the night, so arriving earlier was a change of pace and vibe. But I thoroughly enjoyed my German Pilsner, along with a smashburger from another venue in Rodeo 39. I like Bearded Tang Brewing. I think I tried The Original Hazy (German Hefeweizen) and Vlad the Barista (Imperial Coffee Stout), they were delicious. They have a big selection of beers to choose from on draught so you'll find something you like here. They also have wine, cider and seltzer selections. They even have a hard seltzer slushy. They are located at Rodeo39 Public Market, a newer food and shopping hall!  I've come here many times since they opened almost three years ago but this was my first time trying the brewery. They have a free parking lot.  This plaza is pretty busy any time of the day so you might have to drive around to find parking.  I just park a little further out. Service is friendly. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good brews, friendly staff I've been here twice now and have to say that I'm a fan. Both were occasions when I had some time to kill waiting for people and I've found it to be a very pleasant spot to grab a brew and chill out. They have a nice selection of easy-to-drink selections and both times I ended up ordering hazy beers that were quite delicious. The staff have been friendly and helpful, answering questions, providing tasters, and keeping the counters neat and tidy. They also have a large screen tv playing sports, if that's your thing. This Brewery is located inside of Rodeo 39 Public Market closer to the back of the market. Even if you don't drink Beer, there are other good options! They have Wines, Ciders, and Seltzers. I also saw 3 Slushie drinks. This last time I got a Prickly Paradise which is a Prickly Pear Cider. It is a little sweet and I really enjoyed it! I love the fish logo, a Tang that is bearded (as is in the name) with a pipe in its' mouth! It is just so cute! They are on the Beer Tap Pulls... all lined up in a row! I'm really hoping the beer here is better than the slushees because they were horrendous. I really wanted to get a beer but when I saw the slushees, especially it being such a hot and humid day, I figured why not try something different and hopefully unique or tasty enough to recommend this place. Man was I wrong. I ordered the froze and blue raspberry lemonade slushees, which came to about $22. The rose was gross. So bitter, dry, and absolutely no sweetness like a typical rose would have. The blue raspberry lemonade on the other hand was way too sweet and had no alcohol flavor. It seems like there was no balance between the two, one being way too strong and bitter, while the other was way too sweet and little alcohol. read more

Gosh tang, that was a fun night. Bearded Tang Brewing is a relatively new brewery that's located inside the Rodeo 39 Public Market. It's been on my radar because it's close to my base of operations during my visits to Orange County, and when I learned that they'd managed to win a gold medal at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival after just a year of operation, I grew even more interested in visiting them despite their lack of notoriety compared to some of the older SoCal craft breweries. I came in and immediately checked the paper menus, finding to my delight that they'll let you build your own flight of beers, with any four of their brews for $12 (including the good stuff). I ordered a few flights, and while I won't go into detail about everything, lest this review turn into a novella, I enjoyed most if not all of the beers and found that almost none contained off-flavors, aside from maybe the pale ale. I do want to mention that none of what I had was actually an IPA! They only have a couple on draft currently, and I didn't quite make it down the menu that far. A lot of lagers and various less-hoppy fare are available compared to the ubiquitous. I do like IPAs, but I give Bearded Tang a lot of credit for their variety. The one beer which I will describe was my last memory of the night (no, I didn't drink _that_ much), and it was the medal-winner. Vlad the Impaler is this beer, and they specifically won the category of Coffee Stout or Porter. There's so much rich coffee flavor in this thing, and even though it felt a tad sweet to start, I grew more accustomed (or maybe less full from dinner) as I worked through the beer. Sometimes I don't really vibe with acclaimed beers, but this one was magical and you've gotta try it if you're a fan of coffee. They may not be Bottle Logic (although they also have a hexagonal logo) or another renowned brewery, but you should definitely stop by Bearded Tang Brewing if you're in the immediate area and want craft beer. Order a flight if you're into that kind of thing. You can sit at the bar or take the beer around Rodeo 39. read more

Each one we had was great! We even ended up getting some crowlers to go. I ordered the Ausflippin, a German Pilsner.. which also happens to be the staff favorite! This beer is incredibly light (5.2%) with the perfect amount of hops. Where was Rodeo 39 when I lived in the condos behind it? Instead we just had abandoned buildings as a hobo tent city. After ordering some donuts from Dot & Dough I wondered around Rodeo 39 seeing what's in there. I saw Bearded Tang and remembered seeing yelp friend reviews. First off, I know you can't judge a beer by its label but I really love their cartoony labels. Since I couldn't stay I got a few 4-packs. It's a bit pricey but the cans are 16 ounces. Apparently they rotate the offerings so just know beers you see on yelp photos may or may not be available. I asked the friendly bartender guy what he recommended and I took his suggestion. First one I tried is the "Peach Blvd" which is a white ale with peaches. Very refreshing beer perfect for summer. Not too sweet with just enough peach to be enjoyable and not over powering like some fruit beers. I really enjoyed it. Next I got their "Swing Panel" which is an experimental IPA. I should have asked more about this. I don't know if the "experimental" part means this flavor changes as the mood strikes and Swing Panel can morph into other things. This time around it was a tangerine infused. I loved it. My favorite of the two. The tangerine isn't as obvious as the peach but blends perfect with the hops. Excellent beer! Can't wait to try more. They have a huge counter to drink there with tons of beers on tap. Not sure the rules or how it works. I read some reviews say you need to have food from other places to drink there but you'd have to ask. read more

Named after the bearded owners like fish in the tank of Rodeo 39, Bearded Tang Brewing and their enormous vats sit right in the middle of this market place just drawing everyone's attention to their many selections of beer on tap. In order for a brewery or any drinking establishment to operate during covid-times, they must serve food. However, since food is being served all around Bearded Tang, they can continue to serve beverages as long as patrons have purchased something to eat within the market place. Customers just have to present a receipt before ordering a drink. They have a refreshingly wide variety from pilsners to lagers, IPAs to stouts and even ciders as well as mimosas! I'm more of a champagne gal and he's the beer drinker, so I went with the mimosa, while he tried the fruit rice lager. The fruit rice lager had a red tint from watermelon and strawberries, light and fruit forward, but not sweet at all! We liked its uniqueness. I have recently enjoyed my visits to Rodeo 39, and appreciate it more when we can relax with a couple adult beverages while enjoying all the delicious food here! The best thing about this brewery is the ambiance seeing that it is part of Rodeo 39, a stripped-down, small, and sterile pop-up version of Anaheim Packing District, though I think it's accurate to call it a Destination Food Court without the mall. I asked for a Coors Light and they called security, so I instead ordered a Baby Grinch Perverted Ale with hints of pennies and a lavender soap finish. read more

I visited Rodeo 39 Public Market a few weeks ago and wanted to try Bearded Tang Brewing, but they were only selling to-go beers and you weren't allowed to enjoy your brews on premise. Fortunately, I went back this past weekend and they were serving brews on tap for you to enjoy there if you purchase food from any of the other food vendors and provide them with a proof of receipt. We ordered the Bier'd and Riighteous. Bier'd is a lager - very easy to drink, light, and tasty on a warm day. Riighteous is their double IPA - very smooth and easy to drink for a dipa. Their service was friendly, fast, and they were following COVID protocols. The employees were all wearing masks, on tap beer was served in a plastic cup, and they only accept credit card. Hell yes! A solid brewery is the backbone of any food hall and bearded tang definitely delivers on that. I'm not too sure what the name is, but who cares because they make some really great brews. I got a blue rasberry slush and a Carlos danger Mexican lager, that lager was so good I started sucking down half the glass before I was able to take a photo. Had to grab myself and say hold up, remember to take care of business haha. But in all honesty this place freaking rocks, the staff will explain just about anything you wanna know about the brews, you can see staff in the back working on the next batches and it's just a sight to behold.
