Most of them were large practices and had Yelp reviews in the 2- and 3-star range. San Marcos Modern Dentistry was one of about two or three that had 4-star reviews. When I called to make an appointment, the receptionist explained the insurance procedure very clearly, letting me know what I needed to do next. She answered all my questions with patience and friendliness. My first appointment was really positive. Everyone on the staff from the ladies at the front counter to the hygienists to Dr. Aldaz were very caring, friendly, and professional. Everything was completely explained to me - what my X-rays and scan revealed, the treatment proposed, the cost, etc. I ended up having three temporary crowns placed by Dr. Aldaz at that appointment which was late on a Monday afternoon. She placed the permanent crowns at an early morning appointment on Wednesday less than 48 hours later. I have never had such quick turnarounds on crowns. These are fabricated in house, so they are much quicker than being sent to a lab. In addition to all the positive features of this practice, what impressed me greatly was the CBTC scanner. It revealed a deep cavity almost reaching to the bone that I had no idea that I had. If I had not had it taken care of at this visit, I probably would have had to have had a root canal which I certainly do not ever want. This cavity was a shock because I had just had bite wing X-rays taken and an exam by the new dentist who had taken over the practice of my retired dentist. She told me that everything was fine at that time. In my opinion, it is important to choose a dentist that performs the CBTC scans as they apparently reveal much more than the customary digital X-rays. My former dentist did not have such a scanner. They also have a periodontist on staff so if further procedures are necessary, they can be done in house. At this point, I feel that Dr. Aldaz is the best dentist for me that I could ever find. My feeling was that every person on the staff was truly committed to giving each patient the very best care possible. This is a business that serves everyone who walks through the door and who calls on the phone. It is very unusual to find this nowadays. Everyone there made me feel as if I were their most important patient. I believe you will be highly satisfied if you check them out. If you are looking for an excellent dental practice that truly wants the best for you, give them a call!

I recently scheduled another appointment to be seen specifically by her. When I arrive the woman at the front desk says "we've been trying to get ahold of you. The dentist wont be in until 10 AM" My appointment was at 830 AM. What? The front desk women says "Didn't you get my message?" The only correspondence I have is one voicemail. I present it to her and it's for insurance verification regarding payment and nothing more. I asked why didn't they cancel my appointment. "Oh we can't do that" They knew they couldn't fulfill my appointment and allowed me come in knowing the dentist wouldn't be in. No emails, no messages in the patient portal. Only a voicemail that was allegedly left that I don't have. She then runs in the back to see if someone else can take care of me. She returns saying another dentist I've never met with who's new to the office will take my appointment. No, thanks. I specifically scheduled and requested Yaseri. She's not here so I'm outta here. They managed to waste my morning and my travel time both getting there and now on the return home. I guess Yaseri could care less on top of all this. I sent a message directly to her and absolutely no response after five days. Time to locate a new dentist.

The staff including the Doctor were very kind and personable. I did not need to ask how much the options were they were forthright in explaining that up front. No surprises. They even provide sunglasses to protect your eyes from the bright light that is used. All of the equipment is top of the line and there was really no delays waiting to be seen or during the exam. He went through every x-ray image with me in full detail and really took time to explain the images to me. Their cameras and X-Ray machines were extremely advanced too. I hate X-rays and they actually cut out 21 individual images with 1 machine doing a holistic image. It was awesome. Finding new doctors in a city you didn't grow up in can be exhausting and typically ends up being a sub par experience. Everyone is friendly, the office is comfortable, and Miguel is a great hygienist. Both dentists are always happy to explain what's going on and answer questions. The reason I'm finally writing a review is because of a recent emergency. After a fall, I broke both of my top front teeth and called the office right away. They were able to get me in the same day, cleaned everything up, and placed a temporary crown. I later went back for my permanent crowns and follow-up visits to make sure everything was healing well. Dr. Reppas and Sophia were amazing throughout the entire process. They were calm, kind, and took the time to answer all of my questions, which made a stressful situation much easier. One thing that really stood out to me was how well they worked together. It was clear they have a lot of respect for each other and function as a true team, and that gave me a lot of confidence that I was in good hands. I went to see Dr Gregg last summer (2025) because I had a sinus infection infection and upper R…read more molar #14 was suspected as the cause by the oral surgeon. She did an exam and did X-rays and made notations in my chart that tooth #4 needed watching. She took a 3 month sabbatical and then sold her practice to Dr Wong. I started seeing Dr Wong in late January/February of this year 2026 and went in for a cleaning & he said I needed a crown on bottom R. As he prepped me for the crown on my lower R halfway through this process he said the adjacent tooth looked like it needed a crown also. My new dental insurance allowed 2 major procedures per year and he quickly used my insurance and I told him this after the crowns were in place and he replied the next time I come in he' needed to work on tooth which had decay. After having had sinus surgery September 2025 I knew that there was definitely a communication between upper L molar tooth #14 and this was causing the sinus infection that I had for over one year and the sinus infection was not clearing despite months of antibiotics. By this time I was having pain in soft tissue around tooth #14. I made an appointment in June 2026 to have this tooth worked on and shortly later the dental assistant started to prep tooth #4 on upper right! I was shocked and upset and told her this is not the tooth that has been bothering me and I need to see Dr Wong immediately. The assistant apologized this was a typo and tooth to be worked on is #14 and not #4. Dr Wong started to work on this tooth & upon removal of its crown dark viscous fluid emerged indicating an infection for some time. He removed as much decay as he could and said he could do another crown, but he didn't think it would last more than a year or two if I wanted to proceed. OMG! I was shocked! This decayed tooth already had created an opening into my sinus yet he asked if I wanted another crown. I told him NO! He sent me to two oral surgeons one of whom doesn't accept my dental insurance. When I asked him about the mixup with #4 vs #14 he said he treated me no differently than how he treats all his patients. I do not recommend this dentist! If he haphazardly treats all his dental clients as he treated me by ignoring a painful tooth and choosing to work on other teeth before processing the real tooth in need I have to say do not go to this dentist. There's a lack of communication, professional conduct, and trust.

After speaking with few receptionists and leaving bunch of messages at various dental offices, it was such a pleasant surprise to speak to Toni at San Elijo Pediatric Dentistry. Toni was very professional, friendly and helpful. She took my our information and gave us appointments during my first call. She sent me a link to fill out the forms online. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the two lovely ladies in the front. One of them was Toni and it was a pleasure to meet her. I found out that on days that they accept adult patients, they don't have children scheduled. The reception area is large with many comfortable seating options to wait. The back area is very clean and well designed for our comfort. The television is in the ceiling for when they work on you, you can watch television. Leandra took my X-ray and did my cleaning. She is super nice, professional and attentive. I hope she'll be the one when I come in for my next cleaning. Dr. Hansen was very welcoming, professional and explained what needs to be done. She was very thorough and informative. I wasn't ready to get the few things she suggested to be worked on. She gave me the list of the items to tackle upon next trip. It was a very pleasant experience and I'm glad that they do accept adult patients as well. Looking forward to getting my teeth fixed and kept healthy in this location.
